Snow - lo

We hardly have snow in Israel, and usually the great amount of it is in one place - Hermon Mt. in the north part of Israel. We went there almost 5 years ago, and the photo is of my eldest infront of the huge snowman overthere.

For this lo I was inspired by the color palette #87 The ColorRoom:

And sketch  #185 Creaitive Scrappers:

The cream roses stripe on the bottom is a paper napkin I have for ages and I ironed it on the white AC cs. Since I used BG product (the alphas stickers of the title, from Oh, Baby Boy collection), I'm entering it to the 'lost and found' challenge at BasicGrey. Here's a close-up on the roses strip:

I used Imaginarium chipoard  (circle border), which I painted in silver acrylic paint and then spread some stickles to make it shine. I inserted a pale blue lace inside the border:

The wood look frame was made by me from a white cs, colored with two inks:

The stamps are Unity (the branch) and HeroArt (the birdie). doily, silver flourishes, cream flowers,silver flowers, tag - are all from my stash (most of them from a local craft store).

נכון שעם גל הקור שפקד אותנו מתאים להכין דף על שלג? הילדים שלי מייחלים שיגיע אלינו קצת שלג (אם אפשר - הרבה, כדי שלא יהיה בית ספר ויוכלו להישאר בבית...). לפני כמעט 5 שנים, עת עוד התגוררנו בצפון, נסענו לטיול לחרמון, לראות ולחוש את השלג. בתמונה - הבכור ליד פסל האישלג בפתח האתר.

האתר של The Color Room בהחלט מותח את הגבולות היצירתיים שלי, עם שילובי צבעים שלעיתים אינם שגרתיים עבורי. דווקא בשילוב דומה לזה הנוכחי השתמשתי פעם בעבר, ועדיין זה איננו שילוב שכיח אצלי.

רצועת השושנים הבהירות נעשתה ע"י גיהוץ חלק של מפית ישנה על הקארדסטוק. את הבורדר של העיגולים צבעתי בצבע אקרילי כסוף ומעל פיזרתי סטיקלס למראה נוצץ. המסגרת של התמונה, בצורה של קופסת צללים, הוכנה על ידי, ונצבעה בשני צבעים של דיו, כך שהתקבל מראה של עץ משוייף/מיושן.

המסגרת, וכן חותמת הציפור - בצבע אקרילי. ההחתמה של הענף - דיו דיסטרס.

Sweetie Pie @ 1 - #2 lo with my Counterfeit Kit

This is my #2 layout for Counterfeit Kit challenge, and this time for the tag challenge. Everything on this lo is from my counterfeit kit, except AC stamps, stickles and a few rhinestones.

The photo is of my youngest, when he was 1y old. Isn't he a real sweetie pie? :)

The Bride's Bouquet - lo for Sketches In Thyme & Simple Doodles

Welcome to a new sketch challenge at Sketches In Thyme and a new challenge at Simple doodles, which is a photo inspiration challenge (the challenge at Simple Doodles will be up tomorrow, on Dec. 3rd, and only then I'll add the inspiration photo to this post).

The ladies over Simple Doodles are so kind, they did their best with this photo that I myself found... It wasn't the easiest challenge, but they outdid it!

Here's the sketch:

For my lo, I used K&Co. dp, and I've made the masking with a selfmade template, a technique I've learned from my very talented friend Eilanit, and I added stickles to outline some of the swirls. The black bling is also homemade. I like to make my own embellishments, it's fun and frugal! Here's a close-up on the bling and the mask (IRL the masking is in green color, but I couldn't get a proper photo of it):

Did you see that awesome button on the left upper corner of the photo??? Here's a close-up:

I know it's hard to tell, but it's an angel button!!! It's from Charlene's Button Box, the very generous sponsor of December at Sketche In Thyme! You'll see more of her gorgeous buttons on the other mavens' layouts (and I myself will show you some more of her buttons next week).

I hand cut all the flowers on the right side, layered them with 3-d glue dots and added stickles. Here's a close-up:

For the journaling, I used a BG journal block, distressed with green distress ink. The photo is me, holding the bride's bouquet that my friend just threw on her wedding, back in 1997. The journaling is about it. I love the diagonal of the photo!

את הדף הזה הכנתי לשני אתגרים בהם אני חלק מצוות המעצבות - Sketches In Thyme (אתגר סקיצה) ו- Simple Doodles (אתגר השראה מתמונה). התמונה צולמה ב-1997 בחתונה של חברה, והיא צולמה שניות ספורות אחרי שתפסתי את זר הכלה שנזרק על ידה. אבל האמונה המקובלת, שזו שתופסת היא הבאה להינשא, לא התקיימה... ועל כך כתבתי בג'ורנלינג. השתמשתי פה בטכניקה של מסיכה עצמית שהראתה אילנית המדהימה והמוכשרת. גם את הבלינג הכנתי בעצמי (יעני, פרימה לעניים :)))...).

הרבה חיתוכים עדינים של הפרחים (משני ניירות מדוגמים שונים), דוילי ש'לכלכתי' בשני צבעים של דיו דיסטרס, כפתור מפימו (במקור הוא בצורת מלאך, אבל אני מרחתי עליו סטיקלס טורקיז, כדי להתאים לדף כולו, אז לא רואים את הצורה המקורית), סרט פרחים ואותיות 'תוצרת הארץ' המדהימות. הניירות המדוגמים מתחת לתמונה הם של K&co.

He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother - lo and a sneak peak

When I saw the sketch challenge at Design Dollies and then the elements & color challenges there, I knew right away what photo I wish to scrap for all 3 challenges. Yep, I went all the way for the trifecta!!!

The photo, with my boys at the pool, was taken almost 6 months ago, on our last vacation. The boys were having so much fun at the pool, and the eldest lifted the youngest over and over again. Naturally, it was easy for him to do so in the water. When I saw the photo, I just knew that one day I'll scrap it with the title: "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", and now I got to do it. It's one of my fav songs, and I feel the lyrics are so meaningful. Why not enjoy it, while you are visiting me? Here it is..... I made the lo listening to the song...

The Dollies also asked for something that represent cold with a twist to put something  glittery. I used glimer mist for the circle masking, stickles to highlight the circle's line and glittery rub-ons letter. Only I got it a little messy with the letters and had to correct it with some stickles. Here's a close-up:

Well, it's the best I could do... and I guess you can still understand what's written...

כשראיתי את שלושת האתגרים באתר של Design Dollies, ידעתי מייד שאני רוצה לעבוד עם התמונה הזאת, שצולמה בחופשה האחרונה שלנו באילת. הבנים עשו חיים בבריכה, והגדול הניף את הצעיר שוב ושוב. כשראיתי את התמונות שיצאו, ישר קפצה לי לראש השורה הזאת מהשיר: He Ain't Heavy, He's My brother, ובראש תייקתי את זה ברשימה של "תמונות שאני רוצה להכין להם דפים".

בעיצומו של גל החום הזה (מה זה? אין סתיו? אין גשם? מדהים), כיף להיזכר במשהו קריר, וכך גם הגוונים של הדף כולו. זאת הייתה הדרישה באתגר, למשהו שמסמל קור (והמים בבריכה במלון באילת היו מאד קרים!), וגם למשהו עם גליטר.

השתמשתי בדיסק כדי ליצור מסיכה עם גלימר מיסט ומסביב הוספתי נקודות של סטיקלס, להדגיש את קו המיתאר. לכותרת השתמשתי כמה סוגים של אותיות - סטיקרים עגולים, סטיקרים מרובעים  וראב-אונים עם גליטר. האחרונים קצת התחרבשו לי, אז עברתי לתיקון עם קצת גליטר. פית מרציפן לימדה אותי שאפשר להשאיר טעויות בדף, אז הלכתי על זה... :) אני חושבת שעדיין אפשר לקרוא את הכתוב, ואם לא, אז השורה כל כך מוכרת , שכבר משלימים מידע אישי (בחינם).

ונתתי גם הצצה קטנה לדף נוסף שהכנתי, בו חזרתי לסגנון הוינטאג', ובגדול. את הדף במלואו אפשר יהיה לראות רק ביום שלישי, שאז יעלה אתגר סקיצה חדש באתר של Frosted Designs.

אז בינתיים אפשר להשתתף באתגר הסקיצה שרץ עד יום שני, ובאתגר החדש שעלה היום, שבו צריך לשלב את המילה "תודה" בכרטיס/דף.

Fall (2) - U Make Me Smile - lo

I've made this lo for the song inspiration at Scrapping the music. I took the line "you make me smile". The photo is of my beloved boys, and was taken a little more than 4 years ago. The youngest still didn't walk on his own feet... We had a lovely tour at Mount Carmel, which is knwon in Israel as the evergreen mountain.

I used October 15th sketch from Stuck?!:

For the kraft base I used a backing of a dp package. The dp and the die cuts are K & Co., the orange & green buttons letters are EK Success. I mixed some orange and gold acrylic paint and stamped the swirls on the dp and the cs, so to connect the parts together, and then I spread some gold stickles on the stamped swirls  (I saw it at my talented friend Eilanit, and I loved it very much! you should pop over and take a look at her gorgeous creations).

With that color mix, I colored the border of the photo. I got the idea from the challenge over scrap and stamp, I never did it on a photo and I like the idea and will probably use it in the future.

The golden letters ("smile") are kraft chipboards I won from Paper Niche a while ago, and I colored it with gold acrylic paint.

Accidentally, I touched with the golden stickles on the photo, on my eldest son's hair, but that's fine with me, cause he is a golden boy... :), and the whole lo has the glitter look...

דף מעוצב שהכנתי לאתגר של השראה משיר. השורה שתפסה אותי: you make me smile. בחרתי לעבוד עם תמונה מתוקה להפליא של הבנים שלי, שצולמה לפני למעלה מ-4 שנים בטיול שעשינו בחי בר בכרמל. כבסיס השתמשתי בגב של אריזת דפים מדוגמים. הדף המדוגם והחיתוכים של K&Co. והאותיות הכתומות והירוקות הן של EK Success שנקנו במקס סטור. האותיות על התמונה הן צ'יפבורדים שזכיתי בהם, שצבעתי עם צבע אקרילי זהוב.

השתמשתי גם בערבוב צבעים אקריליים של כתום וזהוב כדי להחתים חותמת של מערבולות על הדף המדוגם והקארדסטוק, אח"כ עברתי על זה עם סטיקלס זהוב. את זה ראיתי אצל אילנית, המוכשרת להפליא, וישר אימצתי בחום. עם הצבע הזהוב גם עברתי על השוליים של התמונה עצמה. אני אוהבת את האפקט שהתקבל.

כל הדף הוא בצבעי שלכת וזהב, אם כי התמונה עצמה צולמה דווקא באביב...

ותמונות החיות? מביקור שלנו היום עם חברים בגן החיות התנ"כי. אני מקווה שיצא לי להכין בהקדם דפים עם תמונות נוספות שצילמתי שם.

Speed Up!! lo דף מעוצב - תן גאז!

I've made this lo for the song inspiration at Scrap It With A Song, which brought the song "Born To Be Wild" by Steppenwolf. As soon as I saw the first lines, I knew I'd scrap my eldest's photos riding this motorcycle on an amusement park, 2.5 years ago. He was so excited about riding that motorcycle and had that determined look on his face to speed up, as if he was on a highway... And that's where the title came from.

I used the sketch from Sketchy Thursdays:

I twisted it  so the photos will work with the sketch.

No way I could make this lo with a vintage/shabby look. The colors of the photos said: primary colors, so I used some very bold and vibrant dp. To soften it a little, I spread some white acrylic paing underneath the dp. I just love the way it looks when you use dry brush with acrylic paint.

I used my zig-zag scissors to cut the edges of the red strip. The oval frame around the little motorcycle sticker and the zig-zag strip on the red strip - are die cuts.

I also used some small motor stickers  and felt letters, and I doodled some faux stitching on them.

הכנתי את הדף הזה בהשראה של השיר Born to be wild, ומייד כשראיתי את מילות השיר, ידעתי שאשתמש בתמונות הללו של בני הבכור, רוכב על אופנוע חשמלי בבאלגן ביגור. הוא כל כך התלהב מהרכיבה אז, והיה עם מבט נחוש של חתירה למטרה, כשהוא הגביר את המהירות כל פעם.

הרגשתי שאלו תמונות שלא מתאים לעצב אותם עם צבעים רכים ובהירים (למרות שזה יכול להיות אתגר בפני עצמו....), אז השתמשתי בצבעים מאד בולטים, צבעי יסוד. כדי לרכך את האפקט במקצת, מרחתי צבע אקרילי לבן עם מברשת יבשה מתחת לניירות המדוגמים.

This photo, of my youngest, was taken at his kindergarten on May.

The inspiration for the colors of this lo was these cute little buttons. They were made from polymer clay by my sister. Arn't day just adorable?

And look at this fabric flower - I posted about these gorgeous fabric flowers a few days ago, here, and I just love them. They just give special touch to a creation. On this one I used some green stickles.

The journaling block, as well as the right upper corner, are BG, from a 'do me a favor' kit (I think it's the lemonade one).

I hand stitched around the cs, with some help from my kids. :)

התמונות בדף הזה הן של בני הצעיר, בגן שלו לפני כ-3 חודשים. הפעם בחירת הצבעים לדף הזה נעשתה דווקא מתוך הכפתורים הקטנים המרובעים בפינה השמאלית התחתונה של הדף. אחותי הכינה אותם מפימו והם שבו את ליבי בשילוב הצבעים שלהם.

הפרח הוא שוב פרח בד, ממנו התלהבתי כשראיתי בבלוג של פית מרציפן, והכנתי עם דבק פלסטי ונצנצים.
