Practicly Perfect in every Way - GD at 1~2~3 Get Scrappy

When Melina asked me to be a Guest Designer for October's challenge at 1~2~3 Get Scrappy, I was very honored and thrilled. The challenge board is so much fun, and there are so many ways to scrap with it. Here's the board:

I took the vertical row on the right - stitching, the color orange and more than 3 different patterned papers. I used 9 different pattened papers - the background, in the stitched circles, the fan flower and the 'button' on top of that flower.

The photo is of my eldest, resting a little from sweaming with his brother and cousins, on a vacation we had in Eilat.

הוזמנתי להיות מעצבת אורחת בבלוג Get Scrappy 1~2~3 (הרעיון הוא של לוח איקס מיקס, ממנו צריך לבחור שורה/טור - לאורך או לרוחב או באלכסון, ולהכין דף עם האלמנטים שבשורה שבחרתן).

לאחרונה יצא לי לעצב דפים עם מיקסד מדיה ו/או מרובי שכבות ואלמנטים. הפעם בחרתי, כגיוון, להכין דף עם מראה נו"פ. חתכתי בדף הרקע כמה עיגולים בגדלים שונים,  ומסביב תפרתי עם חוט רקמה. מתחת לעיגולים החתוכים הדבקתי ניירות מדוגמים עליזים (כולם, אגב, שאריות). עוד פרח אקורדיון מעוטר בפרפר מפונצ'ץ', סטיקר לכותרת וזהו.

התמונה היא של הבכור, תופס קצת שלווה ומנוחה אחרי שחייה וכיופים בים האדום עם אחיו ובני הדוד.

Most Wanted list at CSI

This week's case file at CSI is so beautiful, with subtle colors and wonderful inspiration, and this is my take on the case, plus the current challenge at Scrap Africa, which asked to use washi tape and twine.

The photos are of my youngest, from a fun day we had at the Biblical Zoo at Jerusalem. Apart from the animals, there's a lovely playground, with beautiful and colorful scalptures, where the kids can climb and play.
I took many photos that day, and I really love these photos of my son, smiling and looking so happy.
Here's case file #89 from CSI:

My 'clues' to solve the case were:
Scheme - I used all 5 colors.
Sketch (by Emma Stafrace) - multi-photos skethces are very challenging for me, so I used only 2 photos. Apart from that, I kept true to the sketch.
Evidence - animal accents, polka dots, stripes, straws (I made mine from washi tapes), brackets, two alphabets, book pages, a flag (the dotty elephant is holding one), triangles.
Testimony - I used the alphabet to journal and there're brackets around my journaling. I documented the fun day at the zoo: "your smashing smile shows your joy on a fun day at the Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem. Always smile to the world, and the world will smile to you back".

I used texture modeling paste with a CW circle mask , and whet it dried, I inked it a little with distress ink. The journaling spot is a stamp, and so are the dotted animal on the parade. The sunshine flair button is Purple Pumpkin's.

השתמשתי, כמובן, בוואשי טייפ שונים, אשר מחלקם גם הכנתי את ה'קשים'. עבדתי עם משחת עיצוב עם טקסטורה על מסיכת עיגולים, וכשהתייבש - טופפתי קלות עם דיו דיסטרס. החיות המנוקדות, כמו גם קוביית הכיתוב, מחותמות.

Can it be that my muse just came back? 2 posts on one day, with a new lo, that's what I call having a scrappy muse visit LOL.

The photo is of my eldest about a year ago. He looks so grown up in this photo, and it made me think about his journey in life, and about my hopes and wishes for him on his journey.

It's my 2nd lo with my August Counterfeit Kit and with case file #83 at CSI:

On this lo, my clues to solve the case were:

Evidence: stripes, tags, stamps, circles, grid pattern.

Testimony: I wrote (on the hidden tag behind the photo) some very personal things to my boy - my hopes for him, my wishes for him to find the right way in his life's journey, that I hope I give him the right tools for a good living, etc.

I don't know why, but this lo was done very quickly, even quicker than my usual time for scrapping.

I used sketch no. 20 from Scrap Africa:

For the background I used gesso and Mr. Huey's white mist. On the gesso I stamped with a grid pattern stamp and used some Purple Pumpkin's washi tape. I also used two PP flair buttons. The fence and the doilies beneath it, and the flourishes,  were cut with CheeryLynn's dies and my BigShot.

אוקי, יש שמועה שהמוזה שלי חזרה... שני פוסטים באותו יום, עם יבול של 3 דפים בסופ"ש הזה, בהחלט מסמנים את חזרתה של המוזה שלי. את הדף הזה הכנתי במהירות בזק. אני חושבת שלקח לי פחות משעה להכין אותו, הוא פשוט זרם בקלילות.

זה דף שני מקיט החיקוי של חודש אוגוסט, וגם הפעם הוא נעשה לאתגר ההשראה ב-CSI. הוספתי עוד כהנה וכהנה אתגרים, ביניהם גם ליוצאות מהקווים, הפעם לרשימה של ענת (מיקסד מדיה, קישוטי  מתכת (הכפתורים במרכז פרח האקורדיון ובמרכז הכוכב מסול על הגדר), שימוש במפיות וקריעת ניירות).

את הרקע יצרתי ממריחת ג'סו, עליו החתמתי עם חותמת של משבצות, הדבקתי וואשי טייפ של פסים, והרכבתי את שכבות הניירות הקרועים ותגית הג'ורנלינג מאחור. הגדר, המפיות והעלה המסולסל - נחתכו כולם עם הביג שוט (אמרתי כבר שזו אחת הקניות המוצלחות ביותר שלי? אז הנה שוב...). החותמות של המשפטים הן מהסט הזה. בצד השפרצתי גם קצת מר יואי לבן. אוהבת מאד את האפקט שהוא נותן.

התמונה היא של הנסיך, הבכור שלי, לפני כשנה. בתמונה הזאת רואים עד כמה הוא גדל.... רגשות מעורבים כבר אמרנו?

Burrowed in the sand

A summer theme layout in the middle of winter, how about that? :)

A photo of my eldest, almost 7 years ago, burrowing in the sand. I actually used two identical photos, cut my son's image from one of them, and adhered it on the other photo, slightly aside , so you get an effect of motion.

I've used 4 different patterned papers (3 large squares under the photo, and stripes from another to make the semi-fan flowers), washi tape, flowers and pearls.

בדף הזה השתמשתי בשתי תמונות זהות, כאשר מאחת מהן גזרתי את הדמות של הבכור, מתחפר בחול, לפני כמעט 7 שנים. הדבקתי את הדמות הגזורה על התמונה השניה, עם טיפה תזוזה, כך שנוצרה תחושה של תנועה. עוד בדף הזה - התזות של גלימר מיסט, חוט אופים, אותיות 'תוצרת הארץ', פרחי אקרודיון, וואשי טייפ, שימוש בבורדר פאנצ', פרחים ופנינים, וכמובן - הרבה דיסטרסינג.

מעתיקנית אחת.... Scraplifting

בבלוג של קיט החיקוי, ישנה ציטטה שבתרגום חופשי אומרת: "חיקוי הוא המחמאה הגדולה ביותר". ואכן כשמעתיקים את העבודה שלי, זו בהחלט מחמאה עבורי. מישהי התלהבה מאד ממה שעשיתי, עד כדי כך שהחליטה לעשות "בדיוק את זה".
העתקה של דפים בעיצוב דפי אלבום, סקראפ ליפטינג scraplifting, נפוצה מאד וגם מקובלת. כל עוד שומרים על הכללים.

אני מאד ממליצה לכן לקרוא את המאמר המצויין הזה שמסכם את כל התופעה ואת הכללים הנהוגים בה. בגדול אפשר לסכם ולומר שהעתקה היא כאשר לפחות 70% ממרכיבי דף מסויים מופיעים בדף שלכן. העתקה יכולה להיות של העיצוב, של הצבעים, של הנושא, של הטכניקות וכו'.
סקראפ ליפטינג מסייע מאד גם למי שמתחילה בתחום, שבאופן הזה יכולה ללכת, צעד אחד צעד, בנתיב שכבר סלול. הוא גם מוצלח מאד לוותיקות ובקיאות, הן לשם שחרור מוזה תקועה והן לצורך לימוד והתנסות בדברים חדשים ויציאה מהקופסא. סקראפליפטינג הוא כיפי.
יש שני כללים חשובים שאותם כדאי לשמור -
האחד: תני קרדיט! הטוב ביותר - להביא את המקור עם קישור (ואם זה כל כך מצא חן בעיניכן, אז מן הסתם הוא שמור במועדפים/פינטרסט שלכן...).
השני: לא לעשות שימוש בסקראפליפטינג להפקת רווח אישי (סדנאות, קיטים, תחרויות, מועמדות ל-DT וכיוצ"ב).
אז אחרי שחפרתי לכן על העקרונות, הנה היישום :)...
אש קטנה ואני אתגרנו זו את זו. כל אחת צריכה הייתה למצוא אצל השנייה דף שאותו  היא רוצה להעתיק, ולעשות עליו סקראפליפטינג.
יד על הלב? היה לי קשה. העבודות של אש קטנה הן כל כך יפות ומיוחדות, עם הסגנון האישי המאד מיוחד שלה, שנראה היה לי מאד יומרני להעתיק אותה. חוץ מזה, לאחרונה אש קטנה ואני מכינות דפים לאותן סקיצות, בבחינת פרשנויות שונות לאותה סקיצה, וקצת קשה לעשות זאת שוב, בדרך אחרת.
אז חפרתי לי קצת בבלוג שלה, והתבייתתי על הדף הזה, שאותו היא הכינה במסגרת הפרוייקט המאד מאתגר שלה "מא' ועד דף". את הדף הזה היא כינתה: "בנים/בנות":

והנה הסקראפליפטינג שלי:

מעבר לעובדה שסובבתי את העיצוב, כדי להתאימו לתמונה האופקית שלי (לעומת האנכית בדף של אש קטנה), והוספתי דף מנוקד כחול (במקום ירוק) - הדף הזה הוא ממש העתקה אחד לאחד של הדף של אש קטנה. בראש ובראשונה ברעיון של עיצוב עם ורוד לדף של בנים.

לקחתי דף בסיס בצבע קרם עם נגיעות קלות של ורוד (הצד השני שלו ורדרד בהרבה). הרכבתי שכבות של ניירות מדוגמים בצבעי ורוד ואפור כמאטינג, עם התוספת של הקרטון הגלי. את הדף המאטינג הורוד קרעתי כמו שעשתה אש קטנה. השתמשתי גם במסיכה, אלא שבמקום להתיז גלימר מיסט כמו אש קטנה, עבדתי עם דיו דיסטרס. אפילו הכנתי פרח אקורדיון/מניפה עם כפתור במרכזו, בדיוק כמו אצל אש קטנה.
במקום דף מנוקד בירוק, הוספתי דף מנוקד בכחול, פשוט כי ירוק ממש לא התאים לתמונה שלי, וכחול כן.
החלק מעל התמונה נראה היה לי  ריק מידי. בדף של אש קטנה יש דיגום מובנה בדף, של כוורת. כדי למלא את החלק הריק, וכדי לחקות גם את החלק הזה בדף, פשוט חתכתי כמה מעוניינים מהדף המדוגם של הרקע, הדבקתי מתחת שאריות מהדף הורוד, ואת המעויינים הגזורים יישנתי בקצוות עם דיו דיסטרס והדבקתי אקראית עם דבק ספוג.
הנה כמה תקריבים:

אני מאד אוהבת את התוצאה, וסביר מאד להניח שלא הייתי מגיעה להכין דף כזה, אלמלא ההשראה של אש קטנה וההעתקה ממנה.

Scraplifting is very common in scrapbooking, and it is okay, as long as you keep the rules of scraplifting. Here's an excellent article about scraplifting, and I encourage you to read it.

With that said, I want to show you my scraplifting. I scrapflifted a layout a friend of mine did. We challenged eachother to do mutual scraplifting. My friend, Eshktana, is a very talented scrapper and we've become good friends IRL. Her work is alwyas an inspiration for me. Please pay her blog a visit, you won't be disappointed, I promise.

Here's Eshktana  page that I scraplifted (the photo is the 1st above).

I took almost everything from her page - pink for a boyish layout, the whole design (I only turned the design, since my photo was horizontal and her's was vertical), the elements, the colors (with the exception of adding blue dotted pp instead of green one). I also used a mask, only I worked with distress ink, while she used glimmer mist. For the small changes, my layout is not a CASE of her work, just scraplifting.If you wish to see how Eshktana scraplifted my work, you need to hop to her blog. enjoy it!

Happiness is here - a lo

This is my take on sketch #230 at Creative Scrappers (I flipped the sketch to the side, to fit my photo):

Almost everything on this lo is from my October Counterfeit Kit. I added the fan flower (from one of my previous Counterfeit kits, the dark blue polka dots pp (also from one of the previous kits), two handmade flowers. I used washi page (much better than washi tape, cause it comes in 12X12 size and you can punch it, etc.).

The inspiration is from case file #42 at CSI:

How I solved the case:

Scheme - all 5 colors.

Evidence - circles, flowers, polka dots, pleating.

Testimony - I've adde flowers to my journaling spot.

The photo was taken about 4.5 years ago. I really love the happiness that reflects in my boys' smiles.

דף צבעוני ועליז שנעשה בהשראת האתגר ב-CSI עם סקיצה מ-Creative Scrappers. כמעט כל החומרים בדף הזה הם מקיט החיקוי של חודש אוקטובר. הוספתי פריטים מקיטים קודמים - פרח המניפה ודף הנקודות הכחול. הכנתי גם שני פרחים חדשים, במראה מיושן, והשתמשתי בדף וואשי שקיבלתי מהחנות איקסמיקס גם כרצועות קטנות וגם לפינצ'וצ'י העננים. דף הוואשי הזה פשוט מאד מוצלח, כי אפשר לחתוך ולפנצ'צ' אותו בכל גודל וצורה שרוצים. הדפים עברו את ההתעללות המתבקשת עם המכשיר המשחית של פרימה/אינגווילד בולם.

הרמזים ששימשו אותי באתגר של CSI היו: עיגולים, פרחים, פולקה דוטס וקפלים. בנוסף, הוספתי פרחים (חתוכים בעדינות) לקוביית הכיתוב.

התמונות צולמו בגן הפסלים בחיפה, לפני כ-4.5 שנים. אוהבת את האושר הנשקף בחיוכיהם של הבנים שלי.

Another challenge at CSI & OUAS, with a summery bright color palette and wonderful inspiration from the DT's. Here's case file #39:

My page is kind of contradictions - the photo was taken not in the summer, rather on December 1996. That time was not a happy time, cause my Dad just passed away. My BFF was with me all the time, and made sure I won't be alone almost till I went to sleep. The photo was taken on a trip we took to the Gollan Hights. My chapped lips, my wrinkled look - say it all. I was so sad, beyound words. So fragile, just like in Sting's song: "On and on, the rain will say - how fragile we are".

I've made myself all  the flowers, apart from one die-cut flower on the bottom. I actually made a vein with colorful flowers, som crumpled flowers with brads and the fan flowers. All the dp are bits and pieces. I also used some tissue paper (not much seen, it's in the background) and gauze.

I used mask, yellow chalkboard mist and did a lot of distressing (love love Prima's distressing tool!).

The journaling is on the tag behind the photo, and I wrote about the pain of my loss, how I miss him, and how he's with me in my everyday life.

My clues to solve the case were:

Sketch - check;

Scheme - all 5 colors;

Evidence - leaves, wings (the butterflies), chalk (chalkboard mist), bits and pieces;

Testimony - I framed my journaling and wrote about a lesson that was learned.

אתגר המילים החדש ב"יוצאות מהקווים" התחבר לי עם האתגר המשולב של CSI ו-OUAS. הדף הזה הוא דף של ניגודים. פלטת הצבעים של צבעי קיץ עליזים, אך התמונה צולמה בעיצומו של חורף, בדצמבר 1996, זמן קצר לאחר שאבי נפטר. השפתיים הסדוקות, המבט המכווץ - מעידים על הכאב העמוק, כאב שהוא מעבר למילים. וזה הניגוד הגדול בדף הזה - אני, שמילים הן לחם חוקי, אך התחושה של הכאב הייתה (ובמובנים רבים - עודנה) עמוקה ממה שמילים יכולות לתאר. ומצד שני, מרבית ההשראה שלי, ולא רק בעולם הסקראפ אלא גם עם הילדים ובעבודה, מתבססת על שירים. וגם הפעם הדף הזה נוצר בהשראת שירים - שני שירים. האחד בעברית: "שביר, מתפורר בקלות" של אריק איינשטיין; והשני - Fragile של Sting. הניגודיות שיוצרת את השלם. כי "אין דבר שלם יותר מלב שבור".

טכניקות בדף:

היישון נעשה הפעם כולו עם כלי היישון של אינגווילד בולם מפרימה שרכשתי ממש לאחרונה בחנות Xmix  של Mrs.G האגדתית. ענת, פיית מרציפן היקרה, ביקשה סקירה מבדלת על הכלי לעומת פצירה של פדיקור. אז בקצרה - אין מה להשוות... :)) אני בינתיים רק התחלתי לגלות את מגוון האפשרויות שטמונות בכלי הזה, ואני רואה את הפוטנציאל האדיר הגלום בו (למה משמשות הסכינים הנוספות, עם הלהבים השונים? ואיך, לעזאזל, מחליפים אותן בלי לשבור את הכלי עצמו?). אגב, גם הסכין של הנורדית הזאת מוצלח ביותר. העיצוב הארגונומי שלו מאד טוב והוא חותך נפלא, ממש מחליק כמו על חמאה, בדיוק מדהים. אני בד"כ בעד כלים פשוטים וזולים, ואפילו תחליפים, אבל אם יש כלים שעושים את העבודה טוב ומהר - אני מתמכרת בקלות.

השתמשתי גם בנייר טישיו (בקושי רואים אותו, הוא הבסיס לכל השכבות), מסיכה של רשת לולים ותחבושת צבועה. כמה התזות של מיסט ודוילי ברקע.

הפרחים כולם, למעט חיתוך אחד בתחתית הדף, הם תוצרת עצמית. פרחי מניפה וגם כמה חיקויים לפרימה - ענף של פרחים ועלים מקומטים (נוצר בהשראת שיחה עם אש קטנה על הענפים המדהימים של פרימה...), וכמה פרחים שטוחים בכתום מנוקד עם בראדים.

התחיל חודש חדש, וזה אומר קיט חיקוי חדש! מחר, 6.10, אני אעלה את קיט החיקוי שלי לאוקטובר. הפעם אני לא מאד מרוצה ממנו... מצד שני, גם מהקיט של ספטמבר לא הייתי כל כך מרוצה, ובכל זאת הצלחתי ליצור ממנו כמה וכמה דפים. מה שבטוח זה שהצלחתי להשתמש בחומרים מהערימה האינסופית, גם בחודש הקודם וגם בחודש הזה, כך שהתפנה (קצת) מקום לרכישות חדשות :)).

בחודש הקודם היו כמה הבטחות להצטרפות לפרוייקט של קיט החיקוי. אני מקווה שהחודש השטרות יפרעו. מבטיחה שיהיה כיף למי שתצטרף.

case file #37 at CSI

This is my take on Case file #37 at CSI plus Once Upon A... Sketch challenges:

I think my biggest challenge was to work the 'girly' sketch into a boyish layout :), instead of swirly blings and gentle flowers, I used accordion flowers, office paperclip, brads,  buttons and rub-ons. To get some grungy look, I splattered some dark nail polish, love the effect!

I also did some recycling here - the dotted "dp" are actully packages, of Hebrew alphas (the grey) and Prima 'say it in crystals' (the black). Another recycled item is the sub-title of the date, which was part of a cloth ticket.

Some of the products I used here are from my Counterfeit kits (the current and previous)

The photo was taken about a month ago, on our summer vacation, at Israel Museum. It was very hot and to escape from the heat we went (again) to The Shrine of the Book, which is located bellow the ground, under the white Dome. Inorder to preserve the Scrolls, there are verye specific climate conditions are kept stirctly at the building, i.e. it's pretty cool over there :).

The clues I used:

Sketch - check;

Scheme - used all 5 colors;

Evidence - stripes and dots; packaging; labels; use a craft knife (to cut the stampped black lace); circles (accordion flowers, brads, nail polish dots); buttons.

Testimony - my journaling is handwriting (I do it almost always); I broke the journaling into 3, and two of the parts are on a note paper, while the 3rd was written directly on the background paper, which is in a notebook pattern.

Aside from the red background, all papers are patterned papers, so I'm entering this lo also for the patterned paper challenge at pile it on, and by using the nail polish, it also qualifies for the cosmetics challenge at Yotzot challenge blog.

דף חדש, מתפרע בעיצובו, שהכנתי לאתגר המשולב ב-CSI ו-OUAS. התמונה צולמה בהיכל הספר, לפני כחודש. כדי להימלט מהחום הלוהט ששרר בחוץ, חמקנו לנו פנימה לתוך היכל הספר, שם נשמרות המגילות הגנוזות בתנאי אקלים מאד קפדניים, ז"א מאד קריר שם :). למרות שכבר ביקרנו שם בעבר, היה נחמד לשוב ולהסתכל על הממצאים המרתקים שבתצוגה.

האתגר הרציני ביותר מבחינתי היה להתמודד עם סקיצה שהיא מאד 'נשית', עם אלמנטים מפונפנים במקצת, ולהמיר אותה לדף שהוא של 'בנים'. במקום פרחים מפונפנים ובלינגים מסולסלים, השתמשתי בראב-אונים, סרט זיגזג מעוגל, פרחי מניפה וכפתורים. להשגת המראה 'המטונף' (איך הייתן מתרגמות grungy?...), השפרצתי מבקבוק לק אדום כהה (אין לי שמץ של הסבר הגיוני מה הוא עושה אצלי. אני לא משתמשת בלק...), בהתאם לאתגר החדש שעלה ב'יוצאות מהקווים'. אתגר מעניין מאד, שמוציא מהקופסא ומאלץ לחשוב אחרת. בדיוק סוג האתגרים האהובים עלי ביותר.

יש הרבה מיחזור בדף הזה (מעבר לשימוש בלק :)))...) - הדפים המנוקדים הם למעשה אריזות - של אותיות 'תוצרת הארץ' (האפור) ושל בלינג של פרימה (השחור).

הכנת הדף הזה גם איפשרה לי לגאול מתהום הנשייה כמה ראב-אונים שהם בבחינת 'רחוק מן העין, רחוק מן הלב'.

חלק מהחומרים ששימשו אותי בעיצוב הדף הזה נלקחו מקיט החיקוי (הנוכחי וקודמיו). אני שוב חוזרת ואומרת, שההשתתפות בבלוג של קיט החיקוי, מהווה מנוף אדיר עבורי גם לשימוש בחומרים שישנם אצלי (ולשמחתי, גם כאלו שעולים מתהום הנשייה), וגם ל'יציאה מהקופסא' ויצירתיות ביצירת קישוטים ואלמנטים עיצוביים. אני ממש, אבל ממש, ממליצה לכן לנסות ולהצטרף. מה כבר יקרה? מקסימום תתמכרו, כמוני. :)

היה כיף להתפרע עם העיצוב בדף הזה, והוא זרם מאד בקלילות.
