An orange butterfly for a birthday card

A Cut Above at The Paper Players

One of the Top Few Runner Up

Do you know the feeling when something is very challenging for you, and once you struggle with it, you start to like it?

Well, that's what happened to me with the challenge at Color Hues... LOL.

The combination of orange and slate grey was very challenging for me at first, but after I made my card for the challenge (you can see it HERE), I began to like this color combo so much, so I made another card!

I stamped the butterfly's wings (My Favorite Things 'Brilliant Butterflies' stamp set) in two shades of orange (dried magigold distress oxide and Pinkfresh apricot). The lacy wings and the body were stamped with Ranger's watering can ink, and so was the sentiment (Waffle Flower 'Elegant Sentiments' stamps and dies set).

I adhered all the elements to the slate grey cardstock with foam dots, and added some enamel dots in orange, a translucent gem in orange in the middle of the body, and some clear dots.

The whole panel were adhered on the white basis.

I was inspired by the different shades of orange and the butterfly.

I believe my next card is going to be totally different...

A birthday card, with a vase and flowers

'Birthday Honours' at

Happy Monday to all my crafty friends!

Today I'm sharing a floral birthday card I made, using Pinkfresh Studio 'Floral Vase' stencils and dies.

I followed the colors from Color Throwdown #743, given by Broni.

I always loved the combination of green and pink.

First, I made the vase, with some greyish inks, die cut it and stamped the sentiment.

Then I made the bouquet, playing with the strength of the ink blending, to create some dimension to the leaves. For the flowers I used 3 different inks in shades of pink.

I added some lime enamel dots around the bouquet, and some clear dots to the vase.

I matted the white panel with lime cardstock and adhered to the white basis.

Challenges:

Color Throwdown - lime, pink and white:

Seize the Birthday - I went with the anything goes birthday theme, not using the topping:

The flower challenge - pretty pastels:

With Love card - only solid cardstock

One of the Top Three

Every now and then, I like to make cards using my solid cardstock scraps, and when one has some (many...) great dies, it gets very easy to make the cards.

This time I challenged myself to use 4 of the colors from Sunday Stamps challenge, although I could use only 3 of them (I didn't use white...):

I used nesting dies, and a script sentiment die in the middle, which says, in Hebrew: 'With Love'.

I added mat dots on both sides, and that's it!

I followed the sketch from Try Stmping On Tuesday:

I also goes for the 'Anything with Dies' challenge at Happy Little Stampers:

Celebrate - in orange and slate grey

A Fabulous Favorite

I rearly make square cards, but since this was the request at CAS Colours & Sketches, plus the sketch, I took the challenge...

I also challenged myself with the color combo at Color Hues, which is
orange and slate grey:

This color combo was quite a challenge for me, and I opted for subtle hues of orange, stamping the fireworks stamp with different shades of the color.

The sentiment, TH die, was die cut from a very dark grey cardstock, the same one I used for matting the panel.

I added some slate grey enamel dots, and adhered to the white basis.

I really like how this card turned out! And with this color combo, it can fit both for feminine and masculine recipient.
