A folder with a wing for a man

A very good friend of mine celebrated his birthday, and I've made him a folder with a wing.

I've made the folder from start to finish, with chipboards for the basis, wrapped with black efalin paper (I prefer wrapping with efalin paper, rather than with cardstock, as the cs tend to break along the edges and the spine, while the efalin paper does not).

I use my October Counterfeit kit for this folder, and it's already my 5th project, using my kit, and the 6th is almost done!

The folder measures 8.5"X6.25", in side it has an accordion envelope and a pen holder. I also put inside a notebook pad, which can be replaced, as there's a bellyband to hold it's back in place.

A Flowery folder for Altair Art

Happy Saturday dear friends,

Today it's my turn at Altair Art blog, and I'm sharing a flowery folder I've made for a young lady, who just graduated high school.

I've used a great tutorial that you can find HERE .

I've made the cover quite flat, as I know she'll be taking it in her bag, so I didn't want the cover to get ruined.

Inside there's a place for a note pad, that can be replaced, as it attached with a bellyband.

On the other side, there's an envelope with an acordion fold, so it can be expended. the envelope is closed with magnets.

It's my 1st layout for the 2nd term on Sketchabilities, with Feb 14th reveal.

Since it's Valentine's Day, my layout is all about love, this time my love for my eldest, who is almost 12 years old.

I used my Feb Counterfeit Kit for this layout, which was made in the mixed media style - gesso, mists, builder's net, stamping, masking, heat embossing, paint splatters, some perfect pearls, etc.

It also goes for the 'Love' challenge at Chic Tags blog and for the 'tic-tac-love challenge at Anyting but a card (I took bling (buttons and pearls), heart, spray/mists). I would also like to add it to the new challenge blog, Craft Hoarders Anonymous, which asked for a project that describe your style. Well, my style evolve and changes all the time.. right now I love playing with the mixed media style, but you can always count on many layeres in my layouts. I used lots of hoarded supplies, cause I used my Counterfeit Kit, and the whole concept of CKC is to use your hoarded supplies!

Filled with Love - my February Counterfeit Kit

This month's inpiration kit at Counterfeit Kit Challenge comes from Kits de Somni, and there are two kits for inspiration:

I took a little from both kits to make my counterfeit kit. My counterfeited items were the selfmade patterned envelopes, arrows 'stickers' patterned tags, chalkboard jouranling tags and some swirly embossed hearts. I also included stickers sheet, washi tapes and an assortment of buttons/brads/ trinkets/perals.

In creating my counterfeited kit, I was inspired by the colors (red, pink, grey, black and aqua), the patterns (chevrons, stripes, woodgrain, arrows, polka dots), and by the embellies (stickers, envelopes and tags).

קיט החיקוי של חודש פברואר הוא ברוח וולנטיינ'ז - ורוד/אדום/שחור, עם לבבות וכו'. סקרתי את המלאי והצלחתי למצוא דפים שמתאימים בגוונים, בדוגמאות וברוחם. ההכנה העצמית הפעם הייתה של מעטפות ותגיות ולבבות עם סלסולים בהבלטה חמה. הכנתי גם כמה תגיות בסגנון לוח גיר וכמה 'סטיקרים' עם כיתוב. הוספתי גם המון בראדים, כפתורים, תליונים ופנינים לקישוטים הקטנים.

לא הכנסתי לקיט מפיות תחרה, חיתוכים שונים, מיסטים ומסיכות - כי בכל אלו אני ממילא משתמשת כל הזמן.

עכשיו נותר רק להשתמש בקיט המתקתק משהו שבניתי...
