A Touch Of Black

This is my take on this week's sketch at Sketchy Thursdays:

I changed the arangement of the squares so they overlap each other, to mimic a tower builed from toy cubes. To give a little twist from the square look, I added the round felt flower. The photo is of my eldest, about 4 months old. He loved those fabric cubes, with the different texture. It was one of his birth presents.

Sorry for the bad photo. In real the background cs is more yellowish, but I just couldn't get a proper photo, no matter how much I tried, in different times of the day.

For the squares I used some scraps of dp - BasicGrey, October Afternoon & Cosmo Cricket. The cs is Bazzill.

I really like the handstitched frame and the black matting of the squaers.

דף מעוצב נוסף באלבום של הבכור, עם תמונה שלו כבן 4 חודשים, משחק עם קוביות בד. הוא מאד אהב את הקוביות הללו, אותן קיבל כאחת ממתנות הלידה. המרקמים השונים של הבדים, החלונות של "קוקו", הציורים - פשוט משחק אידיאלי. אחת ההנאות הגדולות שלו היו לראות איך מגדל הקוביות מתמוטט בנגיעה אחת. אפשר היה לחזור על המשחק הזה שוב ושוב, אינספור פעמים.

ניצלתי שאריות של דפים מדוגמים מפרוייקטים קודמים כדי ליצור את הריבועים (BasicGrey, October Afternoon, Cosmo Cricket), ומיקמתי אותם אחד על השני (בשונה מהסקיצה), כדי לחקות את מגדל הקוביות. למראה הריבועי, הוספתי גם מסגרת של תפירה כפולה ביד. כדי לשבור מעט את המראה הריבועי, הוספתי את הפרח מבד לבד עם כפתורים. האותיות הן 'תוצרת הארץ' של רחלי גזית ומסטיקים (גם הדפים המדוגמים ממסטיקים).

Gift card holder

I've made this gift card holder for a friend. It looks like a card, but it's actually an envelope. Here's the back side:

4th Grade - lo

At Artful Delight, Leeanne is celebrating her birthday with 3 days of fun challenges. On the 1st day she gave this fab sketch to work with:

I love Leeanne's sketches! they're so easy and fun to work with, and this one is no exception. I love the CAS lo that I came up with.

The photo is of my eldest, on the first day at school a couple of weeks ago. He started 4th grade and I think he didn't really enjoy that I took his photo (they grow up so fast! I'm lucky that he still let me hug him, but only indoor..LOL).

I used Bazzill cs and October Afternoon dp. I wanted the "4" on the numbers row to pop up, so I adhered a bright one with 3-d foam. I used some buttons from my stash to create this flower, here are some  close-ups:

סקיצה פשוטה ונקיה, שמאד מצאה חן בעיני, והשתמשתי בה לתמונה של הבכור, בתחילת שנה"ל, כשעלה לכתה ד'. הקארדסטוק הוא Bazzill והניירות המדוגמים הם October Afternoon (ממסטיקים). רצועת הבורדר שמתחת לתמונה היא מסרט האריזה של הקיט 'זרעי קיץ' של צרויה אילן (ואיזה כיף שגם האריזות שהיא אורזת בהן את הקיט היפהפה הזה שימושיות...). יצרתי פרח מכפתורים בצבעים שונים, והוספתי עוד כמה לקשט את הדף המשובץ. האותיות הן 'תוצרת הארץ' של רחלי גזית ומסטיקים, ועברתי על קו המיתאר שלהן עם ג'ל לבן להדגשה.

The Big Sea - lo

Here's my take on the sketch from Sketchy Thursday:

The photo is of my eldest, 6 years ago. I was after I gave birth to my youngest, and the babysitter's family took my elsdest to the beach. He looks so small with this big sea behind him...

I kept pretty much close to the sketch.

All dp are from the awesome  "Summer Seeds" kit by Tsruya Ilan. The scalloped border is Bazzill; stamp - Autumn Leaves; alphas - local manufacturer; buttuns, twine, ribbon, doilies, gems and tag with sub title - all from my stash.

חזרתי להשתמש בדפים מהקיט הנפלא 'זרעי' קיץ'  של צרויה אילן, הפעם עם תמונה של הבכור מלפני 6 שנים. זה היה כמה חודשים אחרי הלידה של צעיר הבנים, ולאחר שהסתיימה השנה במעון בו היה הבכור והחלה חופשת הקיץ. המשפחה של הבייביסיטריות שלו לקחה אותו איתם לחוף הים. בתמונה, הוא נראה כל כך קטן, על רקע הים הגדול. מדהים איך באותה תקופה, בהשוואה לתינוק שהיה לי בידיים, הוא נראה היה לי כל כך גדול פתאום...

כאמור, כל הדפים המדוגמים הם מהקיט של צרויה אילן, וכך גם החיתוכים של גלגלי ההצלה. הקיט, כמו גם האותיות של 'תוצרת הארץ - ממסטיקים.

והבוקר ירד טפטוף קל מאד, והיה באוויר ריח של גשם ואדמה רטובה... מדהים!

דף שהכנתי לאתגר סקיצה. בזכות הסקיצה הפשוטה, ההכנה הייתה מהירה מאד.

הדפים המדוגמים - DCWV. האותיות הן של "תוצרת הארץ". תמונות מטיול שערכנו ביער צרעה, במסגרתו גם הגענו לנקודת התצפית, בה מצויה מפת שיחזור של הקרבות של מבצע "דני". הילדים תירגלו להיות "מצביאים"... :)

Little Tiny - lo

My new lo, with a photo of my eldest, when he was about 2 weeks old :). He was born small, and it took very long time till he gained weight as expected.

I love the brown/cream/white color combo, with a touch of pale blue.

Here's the sketch I worked with, drawn by Yael, as a sketch challenge at The Open House for Paper Designs:

I punched strips with MS doily lace punch, and then layered them for the frame.

All the flowers were made by me from silk fabric. Here are cluse-ups on the flowers:

The Snowmen - a lo for Sketches In Thyme

Yesterday was the last day of Hannukah. We had friends and we lit all the candles on the Hannukah lamp. Look how much light we had:

It's Thursday again, and it's Team B turn at Sketches In Thyme. Look what a lovely sketch we have this time!

The photo was taken about 4 years ago, when we traveled to Hermon mountains. We don't have snow in Israel usually, except for Hermon mt., and so on a beautiful and bright Saturday, I took the kids to see and feel the snow. Oh, how much fun we had!

Did you see those awesome snow flakes buttons? Here's a close-up:

They're from out generous sponsor for December, Charlene's Button Box.

I used October Afternoon's dp, and another one I don't remember where from, ric-rac ribbon and checkered red ribbon.

The title says in Hebrew: Snowmen, and the letters are from local manufacturer.
