Add some color to this black and white world - Stuck?! Sketches Jan 1st reveal

Happy New Year to you and welcome 2018!

And what a wonderful way to start this year with a new sketch at Stuck?! Sketches:

I must admit I struggled with this one. It took me long time to realize what I want to do with it, but eventually I decided to make a colorful layout, no mixed media, just 'Add some color to this Black & White world'.

The photos were taken at the Stravinsky Fountain in Paris.

I used papers from Echo Park 'Little Man' collection, and some papers from 'Dots & Stripes' collection.

I used 3 photos of my youngest, from different periods, documenting his growing up.

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - all colors are here.

Evidence - mixed media background, a frame, pen work, flowers, circles, book pages.

Testimony - I wrote my journaling directly on the background, and it reads: "Day after day I enjoy seiing you growing, from a baby to a cheerful smiling boy, very sensetive with a big warm heart. love you very much. Mom."

Imagine

The new case file at CSI, is quite a girly one, and it gave me the inspiration to scrap a photo of myself, taken when I was about 4 years old.

Here's my take on this case file:

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - all 5 colors are here.

Evidence - book pages (which I painted with gesso and distress stains), floral pattern, butterflies, leaves, wet medium (lots of mixed media products here - gesso, Lindy's Stamp Gang starbursts, Mr. Huey's mist, distress stains) and mesh.

Testimony - I wrote about me as a child, playing all by myself building an imaginative world of princesses and knights, castles and palaces, and about how I was drifted in my invented world.
I used a sketch from Scrap365:

I was also inspired by Aug moodboard at Scrap Around The World, with it's feminine theme, and the flowers on the lady's shoe:

Papers and most of the chipboards are Crate Paper, I used Creative Embellihsments chipboard, covered with gesso and embossing powders. I've added a StudiouFourteen40 flair.

Your Gentle Touch-March 15th reveal at Sketchabilities

Here's my lo for March 15th reveal at Sketchabilities, with this fab sketch by Karan:

Again, it's a mixed media style layout. For the background I worked with pp stripes, gesso, mists, stamps, sprinkles, masking with modeling paste and doodling.

I crumpled the dp, to give more depth to the page, and then inked the edges.

The photos are of my eldest, almost 2 years ago, gently touching and feeding the kangaroo at the Australian Zoo.
I would like to enter it to the contest at Paper Issues, for the Zoo theme.

דף חדש, כחלק מצוות העיצוב ב-Sketchabilities, שהתחיל למעשה בטעות... כשהכנתי את הרקע, התכוונתי להשתמש בו לדף אחר לגמרי. התוצאה שהחלה להיווצר מסגנון המיקסד מדיה, לא מצאה חן בעיני בשביל הפרוייקט שאותו רציתי לעשות, אז שמתי את הקארדסטוק עם השכבות שלו בצד. לא הייתי בטוחה אם אשתמש בו בכלל או שימצא דרכו לפח. והנה, כשבאתי להכין את המשימה הזאת, הוא התאים לי מאד, ואף הוספתי עליו עוד כמה שכבות של מדיומים שונים. את התוצאה הסופית הפעם אהבתי :).

יש פה שכבות של ג'סו, רצועות נייר, עוד ג'סו, החתמות, מיסטים, מסיכה עם משחת עיצוב, טפטופי דיו ודודלינג.

התמונות הן של הבכור, מלטף ומאכיל את הקנגרו בגן גורו, לפני כשנתיים.

סקיצה חדשה ב-Stuck?! שאפשר לתת לה פירושים שונים, כפי שתוכלו לראות מעבודות צוות העיצוב השונות זו  מזו. בעוד כמה ימים אעלה פוסט 'מתחילה ועד סיום' על איך הכנתי את הדף הזה, ותוכלו להתרשם איך עובדים עם סקיצה, איך מיישמים עקרונות עיצוב שונים וכיוצ"ב.

יש פרסים שווים, כדאי לנסות את המזל (הזוכים נבחרים רנדומלית).

Special Memories

This is my #1 lo made with my November Counterfeit Kit, plus some scraps from previous CKC kits and projects.

I used #223 sketch from Creative Scrappers:

I loved the chevron pattern on this sketch!

I cut circles from the background dp (which is more orange than yellow IRL), backed the holes with some dp scraps and popped the circles with pop-up dots. Some Mr. Huey's spllatters to give some intrest and doodling for the frame:

I painted the chipboard title (Imaginarium Designs) with gesso and then with Ranger distress cracle paint:

דף מעוצב ראשון עם קיט החיקוי לחודש נובמבר. מצאה חן בעיני הסקיצה עם הזיגזגים ברקע, ומשם הדף זרם. תמונה של הילדודס בגן גרוטאות באגם חי ביראון, לפני 5 שנים. האחד רציני, השני עם חיוך ממזרי.

אני מאד אוהבת את הצבעוניות העליזה של דפי ה-sn@p שקניתי ב-Xmix. הם משתלבים נהדר גם עם דפים מדוגמים צבעוניים ועליזים של חברות אחרות. בדף הזה הזיגזגים המנוקדים (תכלת ואדום) הם sn@p,  ואילו שני הזיגזגים האחרים הם של Jillibean Soup (הירוק המשובץ) ושל Crate Paper (הפרחוני).

העיגולים נחתכו מדף הבסיס, מאחורי החורים שנוצרו הדבקתי ניירות מדוגמים (ע"ע ניצול שאריות...), ואת העיגולים שנחתכו הדבקתי עם דבק תלת מימד, בהטיה שתחשוף את הרקע. התזתי עם Mr Huey's במיקבצים של העיגולים, והוספתי מסגרת משורבטת עם עט שחור.

הכותרת היא צ'יפבורד (Imaginarium Designs) אותה צבעתי עם ג'סו ואח"כ עם distress crackle paint.

After working all March with my counterfiet kit, which had limited palette of blue/yellow/gray/kraft, this lo is totally different - full of colors.

The photo is of my eldest, almost 7 years ago, playing happily with finger paints. I went with the joyful of the photo, and worked on this lo just the same my son painted.

I used can lids on the banner, I think they add a whimsical look. the colorful small hexagons and the stars are stickers. I made the rainbow from cs scraps.

אחרי חודש שלם בו עבדתי אך ורק עם קיט החיקוי, אשר היה מוגבל במגוון הצבעים שלו, נהניתי מאד להכין את הדף המאד צבעוני הזה. התמונה היא של הבכור, לפני כ-7 שנים, משחק להנאתו המרובה עם צבעי אצבעות.

הלכתי לגמרי עם האווירה של התמונה, עם ההנאה הבולטת הנשקפת מפניו של הילדון מהמשחק עם הצבעים. גם אני מאד נהניתי להשפריץ גלימר מיסט ולהשתמש בדפים מאד צבעוניים, אשר בד"כ אני מתרחקת מהם מאד.

על סרט הדגלונים הדבקתי לשוניות של פחיות שתייה ואת הקשת הרכבתי משאריות של קארדסטוקים בצבעים המתאימים.

Together - lo

I just found a new sketch challenge blog, Let's Get Sketchy. I just love sketches!!! The grand oppening will take place on March 1st (mark your calendars, ladies!). They're also having an awesome giveaway for the oppening, "A Boy's Life" collection from EchoPark.

Meanwhile, there's a sketch challenge, till Feb 28th, and I decided to play along with this sketch:

For the colors of this lo, I was inspired by #98 palette from The Color Room:

This palette was a real challenge for me, cause purple is not one of my fav colors for scrapping. I hardly use it on my layouts. so this palette sure took me out of my comfort zone.
