This is my 10th lo (and probably the last one) with my counterfeit kit. The photo is of my eldest, about 5 years ago. 

All the materials on this lo are from my counterfeit kit, I only added the white twine for the stitching around the page. 

I used #199 sketch at Creative Scrappers:

I kept my lo very true to the sketch and very simple.

Hide and Seek - lo and some goodbye news

It's Thursday again, and that means a new sketch at Sketches In Thyme. And once again we have a fab sketch, designed by the talented maven Karin:

I took some liberty on this sketch, and I didn't add anything on the right top of the lo. I just felt than if I put anything there, it will not fit with the whole lo, so ... Anyway, sketches are just a starting point and the inspiration.

The photo is of my eldest, when he was 5 months old. He loved to play 'hide & seek' with me with that cushion around his baby bed. Actually, 'hide & seek' is one of his fav games till now.... :))

This is also my take for this month challenge at ARTastic, with this so beautiful painting 'The Playing Claude Renoir' by A. Renoir:

Riboon - check (I have a few here, the brown mesh, the brown/golden ribbon on the mesh, and the blue flower that was made from wide satin ribbon);

A photo of a child playing - check;

Paint or create your own background - check (splatter of blue acrylic paint on the background. I really love the outcome of it!).

As for the goodbye news - After a lot of thinking about it, I came to the decision that for now I need to take a break from my DT's assignments. I do feel sad about it. So I resigned all my DT's - Sketches In Thyme, Frosted Designs & Simply Create. I do feel sad about it, but I feel this is the right decision for now.

I will continue scrapping, only not for DT's duties for the moment.

So on next week I will be posting my last layouts, both for Sketches In Thyme and for Frosted Designs. I enjoyed every moment of this period and Those 3 DT are really full of talented women, some of them became personal friends.

I feel lucky that I had the chance to be a part of such a wonderful teams of ladies.

דף חדש שהכנתי לאתגר סקיצה ב-Sketches In Thyme, עם תמונה של הבכור כשהיה בן 5 חודשים. הוא מאד אהב לשחק "קוקו" עם מגן המיטה... פשוט מתוק להפליא.

הפעם לא עקבתי אחר הסקיצה בדייקנות, והשמטתי את התוספת בצד העליון מימין. זה פשוט הרגיש לי לא מתאים להוסיף עוד משהו לדף, אולי בגלל שהשתמשתי בתמונה גדולה, כך שהתמונה, עם הרקע שלה והקישוטים, תפסו נפח גדול מהדף, ותוספת נראתה לי לא מתאימה. בכל מקרה, סקיצות הן רק נקודת ההתחלה, ומשמשות להשראה.

הדף המדוגם שברקע התמונה הוא מהקיט 'זרעי קיץ' של צרויה אילן. הפרח הוכן מסרט רחב של סאטן, בדיוק לפי ההדרכה הזאת שהעליתי בעבר. האותיות בכותרת הן 'תוצרת הארץ' של רחלי גזית ומסטיקים. ברקע הוספתי התזות של צבע אקרילי.

אחרי הרבה מחשבה שהקדשתי לעניין, החלטתי שבשלב הזה אני זקוקה להפסקה במשימות של צוותי העיצוב שהייתי חברה בהם, ולכן עזבתי את כולם. בשבוע הבא עוד אעלה שני דפים שהכנתי, ל-Frosted Designs ול-Sketches In Thyme, ואלה יהיו העבודות האחרונות שלי בצוותים הללו.

אני אמשיך ליצור, אלא שכרגע לא מתאים לי שזה יהיה כרוך גם עם שלל ההתחייבויות שכרוכות בחברות בצוותי העיצוב.

הדף הזה הוא "תאום" של דף קודם שהכנתי, עם עיצוב מאד דומה. שניהם עם תמונות של הבכור שלי בחודש הראשון לחייו. את הדף הזה הכנתי כחלק מצוות המעצבות של אתגר הסקיצות ב-Frosted Designs. עשיתי כמה התאמות לסקיצה, אבל בסה"כ שמרתי על המבנה שלה. הפרחים הם פרחי בד שהכנתי מעיגולי בד שאת קצותיהם חיממתי כך שהם התעגלו ונוצר המראה של עלי כותרת. על כל אחד מהם שמתי במרכז משהו אחר - כפתורים בצורות שונות ופנינים.

האותיות הן "תוצרת הארץ" ממסטיקים, ועברתי על השוליים שלהן בעט ג'ל לבן. מצא חן בעיני גם להשתמש בפאנצ' בורדר של תחרה בצדדים, כמו מסגרת, אבל לא לכל האורך.

ההצצה היא לדף שאותו אעלה מחר, שהכנתי כמעצבת אורחת.

Because of an apple

This week at Sketches In Thyme, it's an open challenge, i.e. you can use any sketch you like, create a lo based on that sketch and post it with the sketch you used.

For this challenge I used the sketch from Get Picky:

I just love this color combo of white, pink, brown and green!

זמן לאתגר סקיצה חדש ב-Sketches In Thyme!!! והשבוע זה שבוע "חופשי", ז"א הסקיצה היא לבחירתכן, ובלבד שתעבדו לפי סקיצה (אפשר גם ליצור סקיצה, רק צריך לצרף את התרשים שלה).

התמונות הן שלי בערך בגיל 4, והן מאז ומתמיד שעשעו אותי. זה תמיד נראה לי שהוצאת הלשון בסוף היא התוצאה של זה שהפריעו לי באכילת התפוח :))))...

פרח הבד עשוי בטכניקה של עיגולים ששורפים את קצותיהם. פרפר גדול שנגזר מתוך דף מדוגם של .K&Co, פאנץ' פרפר קטן של MS ופרפר תחרה.

ההצצה היא לדף חדש שהכנתי כמעצבת אורחת ב-Scrappassion, והוא יעלה בשבוע הבא, אז יש למה לחכות...

Little Tiny - lo

My new lo, with a photo of my eldest, when he was about 2 weeks old :). He was born small, and it took very long time till he gained weight as expected.

I love the brown/cream/white color combo, with a touch of pale blue.

Here's the sketch I worked with, drawn by Yael, as a sketch challenge at The Open House for Paper Designs:

I punched strips with MS doily lace punch, and then layered them for the frame.

All the flowers were made by me from silk fabric. Here are cluse-ups on the flowers:

Little Red Riding Hood - lo כיפה אדומה

It's Friday again, and it's time for a new challenge at Frosted Designs, and at Simply create!

The challenge at Frosted Designs is Monochromatic (and we have a sponsor  and the challenge at Simply create is "Give your heart away"!

At Frosted Designs we're also having a sponsor for this week's challenge - Craft Your Passion, and I used one of Lauretta's digital stamps - Little Red Riding Hood, which was perfect for my own photos from age 4 or 5, dressed as Little Red Riding Hood!! :))

And since I scrapped those photos, it was easy to make the lo monochromatic - all in red and redish shades and with some neutrals (white and grey, and I'll get to that GREY part... ).

I used #39 sketch from sketchabilities, but I've made it my own by turning it into a multi-photos lo:

Once again I made a vintage multi-layers layout, with lots of embellishments - lace, ribbons, heart brads, felt heart, and flowers.

I've done this lo also for the challenge my bloggy friend, Tesa, gave me - use grey, use lace/ribbons, use at least 3 photos. Well, I must say I was not too pleased with the grey part, but I did playes by Tesa's rules - the cs is grey and there're also some grey shades on the crumpled dp.

דף אלבום שהכנתי כ-DT job בשני בלוגים: Frosted Designs לאתגר מונוכרומטי וב-Simply Create, שם האתגר הוא להשתמש בלבבות.

שוב במראה הוינטאג'י, השאבי-שיק, עם הרבה שכבות והרבה קישוטים. בדף הזה השתמשתי בתחרה, סרט נקודות, פרחים שונים, סיכות מתפצלות ולבד. וכמובן - הרבה יישון של הדפים. האותיות הן של "תוצרת הארץ" (אמרתי כבר שאני מכורה להן? פשוט מדהימות! גם יפות, גם נוחות, גם במחיר סביר. עכשיו רק נשאר לחכות לעוד גוונים שיצאו, כמו גווני ירוק שונים, כתום, קרם וסגול).

BFF - lo

It's Friday again!!!! and it means a new challenge at Frosted Designs. This week we ask you to distress your creations. I just love distressing! It's my no.1 favorite technique.

On this lo I used a lot of distressing - the edges of the pp, of the photo and of the dp underneath the photo (BG and K&Co.), the doilies, the butterflies.

I used the sketch from creative scrappers, this week's challenge at Sketches In Thyme (yep! I combined my two DT's jobs... LOL). Here's the sketch:

 

The flower was made of fabric and covered with green stickles, and was layered on a felt flower. The letters of the title are also felt.

The photo is of my BF and me. We're friends for over 20 years, ever since we met at the university. Our friendship is one of the best things in my life, which I'm very thankful for.

יום שישי חזר... וזה אומר אתגר חדש ב-Frosted Designs, והפעם משהו שאהוב עלי מאד - דיסטרסינג. זו הטכניקה האהובה עלי ביותר, ובדף הזה השתמשתי גם ביישון קצוות כמעט של הכל (התמונה, המאטינג שלה, הניירות המדוגמים מתחתיה) וגם בהרבה דיו. את הפרח הירקרק הזה הכנתי מבד עם דבק פלסטי וסטיקלס, בהשראת פית מרציפן.

Genesis - new beginnings for Scrap That Poetry and another happy mail

I've made this lo for the challenge over Scrap That Poetry, where the poem for inspiration was "The rock cries out to us" by Maya Angelou. What a meaningful poem! There was also a sketch provided to work with, created by Heidi:

At first I thought I'd use for this challenge a photo from our last trip, but then I decided to use this photo of my eldest, 4 days after he was born, for the inspiration drawn from the lyrics about give birth, new beginnings. Giving birth to my boy was the most powerful experience I've had in my entire life.
Throughout most of the pregnancy, there was an Israeli song that was playing in my head over and over again, called "Genesis". Especially I love the lines that says, in free translation: God had been mercy at dawn, and he gave you to me, for guardianship (pardon my very un proffesional translation...). My boy loves this song deeply (no wonder... ).
And so the title in Hebrew is "Genesis", and the journaling is that special line from that song. I also wrote most of the lyrics as a frame to the dp.

I wanted this lo to match a previous lo I've done, with another photo of my boy that was taken the same day. Here is the previous one:

I tried to keep most of the elements. I love how it turned out.

דף עם תמונה של הבן  הבכור שלי, 4 ימים לאחר שנולד. לאורך כמעט כל ההריון התנגן לי בראש השיר "בראשית" בביצוע של שרון עזריה, ובמיוחד השורה "אלוהים היה רחום עם שחר, ולמשמרת נתן הוא לי אותך". את המילים של כמעט כל השיר כתבתי מסביב לנייר המדוגם, ואת השורה הזאת כתבתי עם עט ג'ל מטאלי על דף וולום. השתדלתי שעיצוב הדף יתאים לדף קודם שהכנתי עם תמונה שצולמה באותו יום.

A gardner at the Kindergarten - lo גנן בגן

This photo, of my youngest, was taken at his kindergarten on May.

The inspiration for the colors of this lo was these cute little buttons. They were made from polymer clay by my sister. Arn't day just adorable?

And look at this fabric flower - I posted about these gorgeous fabric flowers a few days ago, here, and I just love them. They just give special touch to a creation. On this one I used some green stickles.

The journaling block, as well as the right upper corner, are BG, from a 'do me a favor' kit (I think it's the lemonade one).

I hand stitched around the cs, with some help from my kids. :)

התמונות בדף הזה הן של בני הצעיר, בגן שלו לפני כ-3 חודשים. הפעם בחירת הצבעים לדף הזה נעשתה דווקא מתוך הכפתורים הקטנים המרובעים בפינה השמאלית התחתונה של הדף. אחותי הכינה אותם מפימו והם שבו את ליבי בשילוב הצבעים שלהם.

הפרח הוא שוב פרח בד, ממנו התלהבתי כשראיתי בבלוג של פית מרציפן, והכנתי עם דבק פלסטי ונצנצים.

Just me - challenging lo

My friend, Tesa, and I decieded to challenge each other making a lo.

Our game's rules were:

Each one of us gives the other a challenge with 5 criteria: theme, sketch, colors, technique & tools/supplies. Each one needs to make 2 lo - one according to her own challenge and one to the other one's challenge.

My challenge to Tesa was:

Theme - me, myself, I (i.e. it's all about yourself).

Sketch - any sketch you like.

Colors - kraft, purple & orange (you can add more clors if you like)

Technique - stitching

Tools/supplies - no glimmer, use some fabric (you can use more as long as these 2 rules are kept).

And this is my take on my own challenge. The photo is myself at my friends house, on a hot & moist summer day.

I took the sketch from A 2 Z scraplets:

For the base I used the back of a dp pakage.

I handstitched a frame with double thread, two shades of orange (it gives a very special effect when you use two different colors, even two shades of the same color, in a way you can not achieve with faux stitching).

I painted the inside square with purple acrylic and did some doodling with a white pen.

As for a frame to the photo, I did some faux stitching and used staples on the right corner. Some orange chipbaords on the left upper corner of the photo and on the left lower corner. The letters are felt.

I also used felt strip to make the orange flower, and added two crochet flowers (yapp, I've made them myself...).

[Felt is a kind of fabric, isn't it?.... no cheating!]

I doodled the lines for the journaling.

I just LOVED making this lo!

If Tesa got any complaints about the challenge - well, she can only blame herself for it... She was the one who encouraged me to start making los... (Is this sufficient for yesterday's challenge over 365 cards - day 89 courage & strength?....).

Now I just can't wait to see what Tesa will make to meet my challenge... And you can be sure that she challenged me with a tough one too... but I will let her tell you all about it... LOL

ביחד עם חברה מהבלוגלנד Tesa, איתגרנו את עצמנו. הרעיון הוא שכל אחת יוצרת אתגר לדף מעוצב לחברתה, ומכינה דף לפי האתגר שהיא הכתיבה ולפי האתגר שקיבלה מהחברה. כל אתגר בנוי על 5 קטיגוריות: נושא, סקיצה, צבעים, טכניקה ו-חומרים/כלים.

האתגר שאני בניתי היה: נושא - אני; סקיצה - חופשי; צבעים - קראפט, סגול וכתום; טכניקה - תפירה; חומרים/כלים - אסור גלימר, צריך בד.

הדף שאני הכנתי מהווה המשך להתנסות שלי בפריסטייל. את הריבוע הסגול הפנימי צבעתי בצבע אקרילי ושירבטתי מסגרת בעט לבן. מסביב לדף תפרתי ביד בחוט כפול - שני גוונים של כתום. זה נותן אפקט מיוחד בעיני, שלא ניתן להגיע אליו עם טושים/עטים. האותיות הן מבד לבד. הפרח הכתום עשוי גם כן מרצועת בד לבד מלופפת סביב עצמה ואת שני פרחי הקרושה סרגתי בשכבות  מכמה צבעים. השורות שורבטו גם כן, לכתיבה בכתב יד. חיברתי גם כמה סיכות שדכן וצ'יפבורדים כתומים. מסביב לתמונה שירבטתי תיפורים.

היה ממש כיף להכין את הדף הזה. כשבניתי את האתגר,  לא ידעתי שזה מה שאכין. אפילו לא הייתה לי בראש התמונה שבה אשתמש, ואח"כ נברתי בתמונות כדי למצוא תמונה שתתאים גם לגווני האתגר וגם לנושא שלו. לא היה פשוט, כי זה שילוב צבעים שלא קופץ לי מיידית.

רק שכחתי להוסיף את התאריך של התמונה, ואת זה כבר אוסיף בשלב מאוחר יותר...
