Warm and cosy

We have a new sketch for you at Scrap Africa, sketch #40:
Isn't it just an awesome sketch?
Here's my take on this sketch:
I used products from 7 Dots, Thoughts Keeper collection by the talented Olda Heldwein, that I got as a giveaway, thank you Tusia Lech for your generousity!
I used 12x12 pp no. 2, and papers from the 6x6 pad, stamps and stickers - all from that fab collection. and I would like to enter it to 7 Dots' challenge, which is 'Warm and Cosy, just like my youngest's photo, taken when he was just a baby. Here's the inspiration circle from the challenge:

I also used modeling paste with some Perfect Pearls over The Crafter's Workshop stencil, and some modeling paste over a doily stencil.
To go along with the warm and cosy theme, I also adhered felt flowers, made with Die-Namics dies. StudioFourteen40' flairs, splatters of mists, dew drops, micro beads, large rhinestones, sequins and die-cut doily - and my lo is finished.
There's a lot of 3-D in this lo, so it also goes fot the 3-D challenge, exercise #2 at the Mixed Media Place.

A Journey notebook - Scrap Africa tag challenge

Hi everyone,
At Scrap Africa we have a new challenge, and this time the theme is 'Tag it!', you can make any project you like, and you need to use at least 2 tags on you project.
I made a journaling notebook for my travel to Poland last month:
It was a 5 days journey, so I made 5 diveders for each day
On the cover (front & back) and on the diveders, I placed many tags. in a few days, I will upload a video of how I made these tattered tags, so stay tuned.
It's a mixed media project and I used lots of mediums here.
Since there are many close-ups photos, I've made  video, showing my project:
I would like to enter it to the following challenges
paints, watercolors or gellatos - Scrap it Girl I used lots of mists, distress stains, magicals, etc.
stamps - mixed media I used lots of stamps making the inner diveders (see the video).
Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog. I appreciate your comments very much.

Good Luck card with a list of wishes - Scrap Africa October 15th reveal

Hi everyone! it's the 15th of the month, so it's a little busy here in my bloggy world, as I have 3 different DT projects to share, each on a seperate post :), so let's get started.
At Scrap Africa, our leader, the lovely Denise, asked us to make a projects with a list, which includes at least 10 items. well, this challenge was right up my alley, as I needed a 'good luck' card for our babysitter, who starts her B.A studies in a few days.
My card is fairly simple, no mixed media this time LOL:
For the list part, I used a My Mind's Eye stamp, which consist of 10 numbered lines, and I also framed it with a frame stamp, then I tucked it into a burlap pocket. I also used Prima stitches stamp on the backgroun dotty paper, added a die-cut felt flower and two ribbon roses, cut some felt leaves - and I'm done!
On the list I wrote our wishes for her, may she succeed. we love her dearly.

You make the earth move - Scrap Africa Sept 1st sketch challenge

A new sketch challenge at Scrap Africa, with a wonderful sketch by talented Denise. the sketch was very romantic, but I used it for an earthly page, with photos of my boys at Makhtesh Ramon Visitors Center. the boys were fascinated by the geoligical exhibition, and tried every single part of it. they loved to see how they can 'move' the earth.
Here's my take on the sketch:
For this lo, I used my August counterfeit kit, and TCW stencil with modeling paste, that I colored with some Perfect Pearls powder. I also worked with distress inks and mists over the chipboard gears, die cuts with the TH Sizzix Gadget Gears die. I added a flair and a chalkboard tab from StudioFourteen40. the background paper is from Crate Paper 'The Pier' collection.
Here are some close-ups on the details:

I was also inspired by the sketch, by the theme and by the colors I worked with, so I made a masculine birthday card:

Thank you for visiting my blog and for taking the time to leave me such lovely comments. I appreciate that very much!

I used paper and stickers from Carta Bella 'Rough&Thumble' collection.

Hatched from the egg - Scrap Africa May 1st reveal

Hi everyone! this is my 1st lo as a DT member at Scrap Africa, with a sketch challenge.
Here's the sketch, drawn by our talented Denise van Deventer:
I must admit, the sketch was very challenging for me, as I rarely work with circles. Then I remembered these photos of my kids, playing with eggshells, at the Undersea Observatory at Eilat, and I new that thery're just perfect for this sketch.
You should head over to Scrap Africa blog, so see what beautiful creations my sister DT made. So much talent over there!
The boys were so funny, popping their heads out of the shells, hence the title in Hebrew - 'Just hatched from the egg'.
I used my April Counterfeit kit for this lo, and added StudioFourteen's flair (Thrift Shop set 8), and some Creative Embellishments' chipboards. The patterned papers are Pink Paislee (mostly Portfolio collection, and some Vintage Vouge scraps).
I would like to enter this lo to the  Jo's challenge at Orange Paperie & Co., which asked for circles and flourishes.

My Sweet Baby

Last week we were on our Passover holiday, and traveld a lot, so I didn't have the time to make a lo as a DT for the current case file at CSI, but I still loved the palette very much, so I decided to make a lo for this case file. I used my April counterfeit kit. I used some gorgeous chipboard by Wycinanka.
I used April's sketch from PageMaps:
How I solved the case? here are my clues:
Scheme - used all 5 colors.
Evidence - tags, frames, metal (the flair buttons), labels.
Testimony - hidden journaling on a tag, behind the pp on the left side, and it says: "On Passover 2006 you still didn't walk and when I put you on the blanket at the seaside, you started crawling all around. But when you reached the end of the blanket and touched the sand, you backed and returned to the safe boundaries of the blanket. Years after, we discovered that you have SPD and hence your recoiling from the sand. With time passing, you no longer withdraw from the sand, the opposite - you just love to play with the it and to dig in."
I would like to enter this lo also for the current challenge at Scrap Africa, which is 'distressing with a difference'. the twist is to use household items for the distressing. what a fun challenge!
I used coffee to distress the edges of the background paper, and after it was dry, I slightly distressed it with a smoothing foot file :). I really loved this challenge, as it made me use techniques I no longer use, so big Thank You, Scrap Africa!
