Such A Cutie - lo

It's Friday again, and in means a new challenge at Frosted Desgins. This week the theme is "Butterflies and/or Birds".
And there is also a new challenge at Simply Create, a bi-weekly challenge, which is "Metal". And we have a lovely sponsor for this challenge:
My inspiration for the color combo came from the table decoration we had for Passover'd dinner at the begining of this week. Here's some photos of the table:

In real, it was more cream than white... Did you see the blue flowers in the wine glasses? I've made them :).

I used the great sketch from ScrapwithV:

I loved this sketch! Layers and lots of embellishments.

Here're some close-ups:

The metal corner, the birds (done with a 7Gypsies stamp), the butterfly:

Lots of flowers and distressing:

Some more flowers, the lace, the brads and the small butterflies with pearls:

And I'm entering this lo also for the following challenges:

layers - cupcake crafts
flower - craft
inspired by this - etsyinspired (my inspiration came from this vintage pack of embellishments)
open with butterflies - flutterby wednesday
pearls - everybody art
recycle - mawtt (the pale blue flower were made out of the table runner)

Now it's your turn to show us your lovely birds/butterflies, and you can win this awesome kit, donated by our own Debbie:

Isn't it great??? I wish I could play to win it..... Remember - you have to play for the chance to win it...

Thanks for taking the time and visiting my blog, and have a lovely weekend!

The Way They Were - Layout

This lo is about a young couple, my dear parents. The photo was taken a short period after they got married, and as my mom says: before she even conceived my eldest sister...
My dear Dad had passed 13 years ago and I miss him a lot. My kids know him only by stories and photos.
I think this particular photo is so so romantic. I love the way my dad looks at my mom, and the gentle touch between them. I printed the photos in sepia colors, and in 2 different sizes. I've put the small ones from both sides of the larger, each with only one of my parents, so it symbolizes the fact that a couple is made out of two individuals.

I love the chain of flowers and buttons around the photos, as if it embraces them. It also goes nicely with the frame made of doily and the circular title, that says in Hebrew: "that's how it all begun"

The chipboard in the lower part was inked on the edges with distress ink, the same one I used for all the distressing over the lo - tea dye. The sentiment is rub-ons and it states the place & date the photo was taken.

Take a look at these two lovely flowers: both are selfmade. The larger was made out of a lace ribbon, and the smaller was made out of leftover stripes of this lo's dp - not throwing anything...

Speaking of no throwing anything, the title chipboard was made out of used cereal box and the letters were inked with distress ink. Recycling, isn't it?...

Did you notice the cute little rose on the corner? it was made with mask technique. I love how it came out.

As for the challenges, I'm entering this lo to the following:
music inpiration - "just the two of us" - #127 scraping the music
new beginings  - #40 die cuts dreams (mine is the begining of my family)
masking - scrap & stamp
eyelet - #22 kraftin' kimmie stamp (on the tag in the right corner)
circles - #12 pixie cottage challenge
layout shopping list - buttons, b&w photos, circles, patterned papar background, large monogram - #12 craftastic
vintage - one stitch at a time; #12 lots to do
inspiration - #81 etsy inspired challenge - the colors of this pouch are so vintage look, just like the colors of my lo
inspirational coffee - SSHP24 (the colors of this lo are those of coffee, cream etc.)
favorite technique - #16 fab'n'funky (mine is distressing and self made emballisments
make your own flowers - #31 la-la land (not for the prize... just having fun with your challenge)
mom's the word - #15 pixie dust studio

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to pop over tomorrow - I'll post my mini blog candy...

It's all about lace... and about love

I decided to try the sketch over mojo monday, and this is my take on it.
I used peach & craft cs, white & pink & certainly celery doilies. I've made the lace flower in the center out of lace ribbon - I sewed over and then I pulled the thread till it became round and I shaped it into a flower and then I stitched over the pink and bashful blue buttons.
I punched pink & craft cs with MS lace punch and adhered them one on top of the other. the two flowers on the right side are BG circles from June Bug favour bag kit , that I just crumpled a bit and adhered flower buttons.
I distressed the edges of the dp by tearing and distress ink and I also inked the pink doily's edges. I stitched all around the dp with two threads - brown and pink (it is hard to see it because they're so thin. next time I should buy me more thick threads). I did some paper piercing on the peach cs, so both of them give a frame to the whole card.
I added big yellow/cream rose with tulle and a few gold and cream tiny silk ribbon roses. On top of the centered flower, I added a silver pin with tiny blue beads, and some shimering pink pearls on the laced cs.
Well, it sure isn't a CAS card... LOL , but I've made it to a very dear and loved lady, who celebrates a big birhday real soon. I only hope that she will not read my blog the next few days, so this card will surprize her on her B-day...
and I'm entering it to the following challenges:
lace & doily (as your focal point. I guess mine is main focal poing ot this card) - Moxie Fab world....)
lace, pin, pearl - #50 creative inspirtaions
little things (the pin and the beads, the tiny silk roses, the pearls) - #7 creatalicious

circles - #80 cupcake craft (see the above... lots of circles here)
colors & border - embellish magazine
paper piercing - #27 crazy4challenges
inspiration - #78 etsyinspired my inspiration was this
