The Flower In My Garden lo & a Thank You card

Well, it's Friday again!!!  We have a new challenge at Frosted Designs, which is to use a quote in your creation. Easy one, right?

Here's the lo I made for this challenge, using DCWV cs (Cafe' Mediterrnean stuck I just got)and October Afternoon's dp (Fly a Kite paperpad):

I used the Dec 1st sketch from Stuck?!:

The spring theme was chosen for my take on my own challenge to my bloggy friend, Tesa. I challenged her to make a summer theme layout, with bright colors. I guess "spring" is cheerful too, right?
I love those flowers that I've made from the same dp I used on the lo. I also used the same dp for the punched butterflies (MS punch) and for the long leaves behind. The measuring tape is from Ikea, attached with staples, and sprayed with glimmer mist and inked with distress ink. I'm not sure where the chipboard with the quote is from, and the thin green ribbon is from a prize I won at Paper Niche awhile ago. I also used some butterflies rub-ons, rhinestones and blings and I handstitched the frame.

The photo is of my eldest, a few years ago, at Carmel mountain, and the title says: :"The Flower in my garden".

The flower on the bottom was made out of little tiny scraps of all dp's I used on this lo. I simply took all those little tiny pieces and adhered them on a white cs, so I got a "new" dp, and then I cut the circles for the flower. That is what one may call 'being frugal... I love how it turned out. Here's a close up on that flower:

את הדף הזה הכנתי לאתגר של "ציטטה" ב- Frosted Designs. בדיוק קיבלתי את הסטאק היפהפה של Cafe' Mediterranean של DCWV, ומשם לקחתי את הקארדסטוק שכל כך התאים בצבעים שלו לתמונה ולדפים המדוגמים של October Afternoon מ"מסטיקים", משם גם האותיות של הכותרת, "תוצרת הארץ", שנצבעו קלות בצבע אדמדם, להבליט אותן מעל הנייר. אני מאד אוהבת את הורסטיליות של האותיות הללו! בניירות המדוגמים השתמשתי גם לפאנצ' הפרפרים, וגם ליצירת הפרחים. הפרח התחתון נוצר משאריות קטנטנות של הדפים המדוגמים, שהודבקו על קארדסטוק לבן, כך שנוצר לי 'דף מדוגם חדש'. סרט המידה מאיקאה והסרט הדק הירוק שמעליו הוא מפרס שזכיתי בו לאחרונה. הוספתי גם כמה ראב-אונים של פרפרים ותפירה ביד של המסגרת לדף.

התמונה היא של הבכור, לפני כמעט 5 שנים, בחי בר בכרמל. המקום כבר לא נראה כך, למרבה הצער.

הכרטיס שהכנתי הוא כרטיס תודה, ונעשה לאתגר של אמבוסינג שמתחיל היום ב- Simply Create (החלפת שם לבלוג של Simple Doodles). החותמת היא של נותנת החסות לאתגר ב- Frosted Designs, והכיתוב הוא חותמת דיגיטלית מ-raindropecho.

היום מסתיימת שנת 2010, שהיתה עבורי שנה קשה למדי. שנה של התמודדות עם קשיים לא פשוטים שנוגעים לבן הצעיר שלי, עם תאונת עבודה בה נפגעתי בגב, ועם אסון השריפה בכרמל. אני מקווה ומאחלת, לי ולכולם, ששנת 2011 תהא מוצלחת בהרבה.

תודה על תשומת הלב ושיהיה סופ"ש חמים ונעים, עם הגשם שסוף סוף מגיע קצת לפה.

The Bride's Bouquet - lo for Sketches In Thyme & Simple Doodles

Welcome to a new sketch challenge at Sketches In Thyme and a new challenge at Simple doodles, which is a photo inspiration challenge (the challenge at Simple Doodles will be up tomorrow, on Dec. 3rd, and only then I'll add the inspiration photo to this post).

The ladies over Simple Doodles are so kind, they did their best with this photo that I myself found... It wasn't the easiest challenge, but they outdid it!

Here's the sketch:

For my lo, I used K&Co. dp, and I've made the masking with a selfmade template, a technique I've learned from my very talented friend Eilanit, and I added stickles to outline some of the swirls. The black bling is also homemade. I like to make my own embellishments, it's fun and frugal! Here's a close-up on the bling and the mask (IRL the masking is in green color, but I couldn't get a proper photo of it):

Did you see that awesome button on the left upper corner of the photo??? Here's a close-up:

I know it's hard to tell, but it's an angel button!!! It's from Charlene's Button Box, the very generous sponsor of December at Sketche In Thyme! You'll see more of her gorgeous buttons on the other mavens' layouts (and I myself will show you some more of her buttons next week).

I hand cut all the flowers on the right side, layered them with 3-d glue dots and added stickles. Here's a close-up:

For the journaling, I used a BG journal block, distressed with green distress ink. The photo is me, holding the bride's bouquet that my friend just threw on her wedding, back in 1997. The journaling is about it. I love the diagonal of the photo!

את הדף הזה הכנתי לשני אתגרים בהם אני חלק מצוות המעצבות - Sketches In Thyme (אתגר סקיצה) ו- Simple Doodles (אתגר השראה מתמונה). התמונה צולמה ב-1997 בחתונה של חברה, והיא צולמה שניות ספורות אחרי שתפסתי את זר הכלה שנזרק על ידה. אבל האמונה המקובלת, שזו שתופסת היא הבאה להינשא, לא התקיימה... ועל כך כתבתי בג'ורנלינג. השתמשתי פה בטכניקה של מסיכה עצמית שהראתה אילנית המדהימה והמוכשרת. גם את הבלינג הכנתי בעצמי (יעני, פרימה לעניים :)))...).

הרבה חיתוכים עדינים של הפרחים (משני ניירות מדוגמים שונים), דוילי ש'לכלכתי' בשני צבעים של דיו דיסטרס, כפתור מפימו (במקור הוא בצורת מלאך, אבל אני מרחתי עליו סטיקלס טורקיז, כדי להתאים לדף כולו, אז לא רואים את הצורה המקורית), סרט פרחים ואותיות 'תוצרת הארץ' המדהימות. הניירות המדוגמים מתחת לתמונה הם של K&co.
