Hey Kiddo

Our #1 mini challenge at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog is to be inspired by a stamp. one stamp only. and you need to use it on your project (you can use more stamps, but the one that inspired you must be used).

For my lo, I took the lace border stamp from MME Miss Caroline/Fiddlesticks/"Story" stamps. 
It inspired me to go on a lacy look, and so I stamped a border on the bottom of the white cs and partly covered it with a diagonal stripes pp:

Furtheremore, I took a doily and stamped another stamp from that set, this time a half doily stamp:

Then I took a grayish lace and put it from both sides of the photo:

The hidden journaling is on the tag behind the photo, and it states 4 things about my youngest: super sweet; funny; very assertive; so loved.

My 'clues' to solve the case were:
Evidence: stripes, swirls, transparent elemnt (the transparent sheet under the photo), doily pattern, something that rolls up (some of the pp).
Testimony: my journaling tag has a frame and I wrote 4 things about my son.

האתגר הראשון לחודש זה בבלוג של קיט החיקוי הוא לקבל השראה מחותמת. חותמת אחת בלבד, ולהשתמש בה בדף (אפשר להשתמש בעוד חותמות).

ההשראה שלי הייתה מחותמת של בורדר תחרה, והיא הכתיבה שימוש באלמנטים של תחרה בדף. החתמתי את החותמת בתחתית הקארדסטוק הלבן, והסתרתי אותה חלקית עם רצועה של דף מדוגם עם פסים אלכסוניים. בנוסף, לקחתי מפית תחרה והחתמתי עליה חותמת תחרה נוספת מאותו סט, הפעם של חצי עיגול תחרה. הטאץ' האחרון של תחרה היה עם תחרה אפרפרה עדינה שהדבקתי משני צידי התמונה, בהתאמה לפס העדין שבסקיצה.

הענף הפרחוני שבסקיצה תורגם אצלי למסיכה עם סלסולים, וכדי לאזן אותה, הוספתי בפינה הנגדית של התמונה קצת גאזה שנצבעה באפור בעזרתו האדיבה של Mr. Huey's, בתוספת פרח עם בראד במרכזו.

Free Spirit

My youngest has a very strong character, and he's kind of a free spirit kid. When I saw the new challenge at Bird Is The Word, with the word "Spirit" for inspiration, I knew right away I'd make a lo about my son's free spirit.

The photo was taken a few days ago, at the beach, when we 'celebrated' the end of our summer vacation. I love the way the sunset mirrored in the water, and I feel that the photo expresses perfectly the free spirit theme.

I also used case file # 34 from CSI:

My clues to solve the case were:

For the evidence - birds, wet medium (I dyed the gauzes with two different glimmer mists), water colors (on the background dp), a wave shape (created with the torn cs and the gauzes, fringe.

For the testimony - my journaling (in Hebrew) about my son's character, is on the torn cs strips, and I used the word "Free" as my inspiration for my journaling. I wrote my wishes for my son, to always has his free spirit, with the ability and courage to be what he is.

את הדף המעוצב הזה הכנתי בהשראה של מילה "Spirit"', ומייד כשראיתי את האתגר ידעתי שאכין דף על האופי המאד מיוחד של צעיר הבנים. יש לו אופי מאד עצמאי, עומד על שלו בנחישות, ומפלס את דרכו המאד מיוחדת בעולם. ממש free spirit.

השראה נוספת הייתה מאחד מהאתרים האהובים עלי - CSI. זה אתר עם אתגרים מאד אינטילגנטיים, המכילים תרכובת של פלטת צבעים (לעיתים לא קלה להתמודדות), אלמנטים וג'ורנלינג. האתגרים שם תמיד גורמים לי לחשוב לעומק על הדף שאני מכינה, ופעמים רבות גם 'לצאת מהקופסא'.

בדף הזה, למשל, הכנסת הצבע הורוד לדף שכל כולו של ילד שהוא 100% בן, היה בהחלט משהו מאתגר.

אחת הדרישות הייתה ליצירת מראה של גלים, עשיתי זאת בשני אופנים משתלבים - קארדסטוק בגוון חול, אותו קרעתי לרצועות גליות, והדבקתן כשביניהן תחבושות צבועות. את הכיתוב כתבתי על רצועות הקארדסטוק (אחת הדרישות הייתה לרצועות של ג'ורנלינג), גם כן בגלים.

את התחבושות הצבועות בגלימר מיסט מתחתי כך שהסיבים שלהן קצת נקרעו ונפרעו, וגם זאת הייתה אחת הדרישות.

הציפורים (עוד דרישה...) הוחתמו על נייר מדוגם, אותו נייר ששימש כמאטינג לתמונה, ונחתכו בעדינות. את אחת מהשאריות אחרי החיתוך, חתכתי שוב כמסגרת והדבקתי על התמונה להדגשת התאריך.

Scrapping Everyday Miracles

We're on the middle of our summer vacation, and that means that I have very little time for scrapping... but we're having a real great vacation, going to museums, having old friends visiting us, playing at the pool and relaxing at the beach. 

Spkeaking of the beach, I have a few layout with photo from the beach to share with you. Today I'll share with you the 1st one.

The photo is of my boys, 4 months ago, when we actually opened our bathing season, on our Passover vacaion. They just love to jump at the waves :).

Some of the materials are from my August Counterfeit Kit - the accordion flower, the kraft stars, the MME strips and sticker for the title, so it's #4 lo with this kit.

I used August sketch from C'est Magnifique, drawn by Nadia Cannizzo, but I turned it, cause I liked it more in the horizontal design:

The 'clues' I've used to solve the case are: 

For the evidence: stars - I used kraft stars I cut from a Jillibean Soup dp, and I used the frame of the left over to make another stars, with cs and vellum to fill up the gaps. I also used some starfish trinkets and star beads; my translucents items are the vellum, the white mesh for the matting and the star beads; the wet medium for me is the glimmer mist I used to color the gauze, and I really love the airy feeling it gives to the lo; I used vellum not only for the stars, but also as the main horizontal strip, and I used MS border punch on it; dots - with mask (the light blue in the background) and rub-ons (the dark brown); I also used mesh and gauze.

For the matting of the photo I've created kind of a 'window' from corrugated cardboard, and  I soften the inside edges with white acrylic paint (another wet medium I've used).

I was really inspired by the 'treasure' theme of the case, so I've added some pearls, beads and rhinestones to complete the look. oh, did you see the little seahorse trinket on the right side of the photo? can anyone tell what movie I just saw with the kids?....

For the testimony: my journaling is about our beach trip. 

I would like to enter it also for Scrapping Evereyday Miracles, which asked for favorite vacaion plus using a mask (I used a Crafter's Workshop circles mask).

אנחנו בעיצומה של חופשת הקיץ המשותפת שלנו, וזה אומר עוד פחות זמן לסקראפ מהרגיל... בקייטנת אמא יש פעילות בכל יום, ובסה"כ הזמן עובר עלינו בנעימים. הסופ"ש הזה היה בסימן של העדר פעילות מתוכננת, וכך נמצא לו גם הזמן להכין דף אלבום נוסף. ברוח הקיץ, השתמשתי בתמונה של הבנים משתעשעים בים, רק שזה היה בתחילת העונה, בחופשת הקיץ. הים היה אז סוער למדי, אבל לשמחתי הילדים שלי היו מאד זהירים ולא נכנסו מעבר לקו המותניים, כפי שאפשר גם לראות בתמונה.

חלק מהחומרים בדף הזה נלקחו מקיט החיקוי של חודש אוגוסט (פרח המניפה, הכפתורים, הקארדסטוק הלבן, הדוילי והכוכבים מקראפט. גם הרצועות האופקיות מהדפים המדוגמים, כמו גם הכותרת, הם מאותו קיט - תוצרת MME). 

הקישוטים בחום כהה הם מדף ראב-אונים בו זכיתי לפני כמה חודשים. השתמשתי בדף וולום כחול, גם לרצועה האופקית הרחבה, שפינצ'צ'תי עם בורדר פאנצ' של מרתה סטיוארט ,וגם כמילוי לכוכבים מקראפט. המסגרת שלהם היא בעצם השארית של חיתוך הכוכבים עצמם - ניצול שאריות במיטבו, או פינת החסכן במיטבה :). 

כשכבה ראשונה הנחתי תחבושת צבועה עם גלימר מיסט. אני אוהבת את המראה האוורירי שהתחבושת הצבועה נותנת לדף כולו.

כמאטינג לתמונה השתמשתי בקרטון גלי, אלא שהפעם בשונה מהרגיל, את התמונה הנחתי מתחת לקרטון ויצרתי בו 'חלון', שאת שוליו הפנימיים 'לכלכתי' בצבע אקרילי לבן. בין הקרטון הגלי לתחבושת ולדף הוולום, הנחתי גם דף של רשת לבנה עדינה מאד, עם זריקות של צבע עליה.

ההשראה לדף הייתה מ-CSI. שילוב הצבעים הפעם הוא אחד מהאהובים עלי ביותר - גווני כחול עם גוונים של חום וקראפט בהיר. האווירה באתגר הייתה קצת של 'אוצר', או לפחות זו הייתה האווירה שאני חשתי, אז הוספתי גם כמה פנינים, אבני חן וחרוזים - כדי לדמות את האוצרות שנשפכים מתיבת אוצר שנפתחה בלב הים. הוספתי גם תליוני מתכת של כוכבי ים וסוסון ים, להשלמת האווירה הימית. ברקע גם עבדתי עם מסיכה של עיגולים ודיו תכלת בהיר.

אני אוהבת את התמונה ואת הדף שיצא. מה דעתכן? אשמח לקרוא תגובות :).

When I saw the color combo for Feb challenge at Glitz, I knew right away that I'll use papers from 'Beautiful Dreamer' collection along with my youngest's photo. These gorgeous dp were perfect for his dreamy pose. And yes, I do make boyish layouts with flowers, pink and lace... LOL

Here's the color combo:

I used #197 sketch from Creative Scrappers:

I also used the word inspiration from Bird Is The Word, which was "Discover".

I've made the flowers from scraps of cs in the matching colors. here's a close-up on the flowers:

I also used scraps of red dp (DCWV) to punch the small butterflies, WP alphas, a doily, lace and a gauze I dyed with acrylic paint. I'm really proud of myself that I managed to get the exact shade of blue/grey for the gauze, just like the shade of the dp. I think that it adds to the dreamy look of the lo.

I did a lot of hand stitching and distressing on this lo. here're some close-ups:

The leaves are hand cut from a print I downloaded from Lisa G. I spread glitter and diamond glaze on them. aren't they lovely? here're some close-ups:

stitching (plus a tip) - top tip tuesday my tip for TTT - if you do hand stitching - when you work with several layers, stitch each layer before you adhere it to the other piece of paper. it will make it easier to stitch and you can play with your paper around very easily till you're pleased with the design.

דף עם תמונה של צעיר הבנים מטיול שערכנו לאחרונה בכרמל. הוא תפס פוזה חולמנית משהו על רקע הנוף המדהים.

השתמשתי בדפים מדוגמים של Glitz מקולקציה שנקראת 'Beautiful Dreame', קולקציה עם דפים יפהפיים. הדפים הללו התאימו באופן מושלם גם לתמונה עצמה וגם לאתגר שילוב צבעים ש-Glitz העלו החודש.

יש הרבה דיסטרסינג ותפירה ידנית. השתמשתי גם במפית תחרה, סרט תחרה ותחבושת צבועה בצבע אקרילי. אני מאד גאה בעצמי שהצלחתי להגיע לגוון הכחלחל-אפרפר עם הצבעים האקריליים, ממש כמו הגוון שבדפים המדוגמים. את הפרחים הכנתי בעצמי והעלים הם חיתוך עדין של דגם שהורדתי מהאינטרנט.

דף של בן, אבל עם פרחים, תחרה וצבע ורוד. מאחר שבינתיים לא מושמעת מחאה מצד דור ההמשך, אני מרשה לעצמי מידי פעם...

A weekend in the north - a mini album

הפעם האתגר של צרויה הוא "ילדות". עלו בי אסוציאציות רבות מהכותרת הזאת, אבל את המקום המרכזי תפסה האסוציאציה של זכרונות הילדות היפים ביותר שלי מהטיולים המשפחתיים ברחבי הארץ. הורי לקחו אותנו לטייל בכל פינה בארץ, מהצפון ועד לדרום, מהמערב אל המזרח. החוויות היפות ביותר היו מקמפינגים בחיק הטבע, לינה באוהל.

את החוויות הללו אני כל כך שמחה להנחיל גם לילדים שלי. בתחילה, כשהיו קטנים, טיולים בני כמה שעות, כשאני נושאת את התינוק במנשא על הגב או על הצד. עם הזמן, כשגדלו, גם קמפינגים ולינה באוהל. הכי כיף.

המיני אלבום הזה הוא על אחד מהטיולים/קמפינגים הללו, שעשינו עם חברים לפני למעלה משלוש שנים. התחלנו בטיול בפארק הירדן, עלינו צפונה עד לקיבוץ דפנה, שם נטינו אוהלינו, ולמחרת טיילנו למפל הבניאס.

הפעם, בשונה מכל המיני אלבומים שהכנתי עד כה, הבסיס היה אלבום צ'יפבורד אפור מוכן. השתמשתי בדפים מדוגמים ובקישוטי סטיקרים של Cosmo Cricket, מקולקציה שנקראת Clementine, להם הוספתי מדבקות סטיקרים, ראב-אונים, פנינים ואבני חן, חיתוכים מדף מדוגם של my little showbox, ותחבושת צבועה. האותיות הן של 'תוצרת הארץ'.

Cheerios - lo

I've made this lo for the 3rd sketch challenge ate My Creative Sketches. Here's the sketch:

I've made some changes from the original sketch, but I think that you can still see the original.

The photo is of my youngest, about 5 years ago. Cheerios was my kids' fav snack, the plain one, without sugar or honey. I used to have small bags with them everywhere... LOL

Some of the dp I used on this lo were made by me - the pale blue one (misting with glimmer mist and then I stamped with Unity stamp) and the background one (here's a "how to make it" that shows how to create your own dp). I also made the frame for the photo from AC stamps and then fussy cutting around the frame. Here are some close ups:

Homemade frame, homemade dp, liquid pearls around the photo, distressing, layers and stitching:

a tip: when you put some layers and stitch, stitch the cs before you put your layers, and then adhere the layers. it will make stitching much easyer.

Tearing, rolling outside the other side of the paper (actually the 'other side' is a different piece of white cs, that I inked with two different inks to give it the stonewash look):

I also made the flowers - from a gauze misted with glimmer mist, and adhered on a scallop punched cs. I decorated  the scalloped circle with stickles and the center of the flowers  with Prima's 'say it in pearls' embellies:

דף מעוצב שהכנתי לאתגר סקיצה. העיצוב שלי שונה במקצת מהסקיצה המקורית , אבל אני חושבת שעדיין אפשר לזהות אותה בדף.

התמונה היא של צעיר הבנים, לפני כ-5 שנים, אוכל צ'יריוס משקית, בגבעת הרקפות. צ'יריוס מהסוג הפשוט, זה בלי הסוכר והדבש, היה החטיף המועדף והעיקרי של ילדי. באותה תקופה היו לי שקיות עם צ'יריוס בכל מקום אפשרי (ובלתי אפשרי...).

את חלק מהדפים שאיתם עבדתי - הכנתי בעצמי. הדף התכול עם הכיתוב החום הוא קארדסטוק לבן, עליו התזתי גלימר מיסט והחתמתי עם חותמת מילים של UNITY; הקארדסטוק בבסיס (מציץ מהקרעים) עבר טיפול מסיבי (הנה קישור להדרכה איך הכנתי זאת). גם את המסגרת לתמונה הכנתי בעצמי, עם חותמות של AMERICAN CRAFTS. הדפים המדוגמים הנוספים הם של MME ו-COSMO CRICKET.

הפרחים הוכנו מגילגול של תחבושות שעליהן התזתי גלימר מיסט, וקישטתי מסביב לעיגול עם סטיקלס ואת מרכזי הפרחים עם קישוטים של PRIMA.
הטיפ שלי לתפירת דפים בשכבות - לתפור את הקארדסטוק לפני שמדביקים את השכבות. זה מקל על התפירה (במיוחד אם היא ידנית).

Water Boy - Celebrate Every Detail - lo

TGIF!!! Welcome to the new Simple Doodles - Celebrate! So come and join us with your own celebration.

These photos are of my youngest, and for him being at the seaside is a HUGE CELEBRATION!, and he is so right! We all love to be at the beach, and we try to do it as often as possible.

It's the first time I'm doing two-pagers lo. Here are the two of them apart:

For this lo I used a lot of paint, actually all stamping on this lo was made with acrylic paint.

I also used bubble wrap with green acrylic paint, and with white paint over the photos, so it matches the water drops of the photos themselves.  I also splashed paint with a toothbrush.

I'm not sure if you can tell by the lo's photos, but the pp underneathe the photos has a bubble pattern too (it's from The creative cottage, a kit I also won once).

For the stripes I used both BG dp (from prcelain pad) and bandages, also with paint.

To complete the overlook, I added real seashells and some pearls.

The title (on the right side, it's Hebrew, you know..) says "Water Boy", and the letters are from Practical Magic. The chipboard with the subtitle is We R Memory Keepers.

הנה שוב הגיע  יום שישי המבורך, וזה הזמן לאתגר חדש בבלוג האתגרים של Simple Doodles, והפעם הנושא - חגיגה! זה נושא די פתוח, ואני לקחתי את הנושא לחגיגת הים שמתרחשת אצלנו בקיץ.

התמונות הן של הבן הצעיר שלי, שעבורו להיות בים זו מגה-חגיגה. האמת היא שהוא צודק וכולנו מאד אוהבים להיות בים. המרחבים, העוצמה של הגלים, המים המרעננים. הכל (חוץ מהחול שהולך איתנו לאוטו והביתה...).

זו פעם ראשונה שאני עושה כפולה. השתמשתי פה בהמון המון צבע אקרילי. גם חותמות שקופות, גם עטיפת פצפצים (וכרגיל, ההשראה והלימוד - מפית מרציפן). אהבתי את האפקט של החתמה עם הפצפצים על התמונה עצמה, עם צבע לבן, באופן שממשיך את טיפות המים של הים שנקלטו בחלק מהתמונות.

וגם הפעם השתמשתי בפטנט התחבושות הצבועות של יפית, כאן כפסים שמתחת לתמונות. השתמשתי במאטינג כפול עם הטול וכך  יצא שגם הטול וגם התחבושות הוסיפו לאווירת הים, כמו רשת דייגים.

להוסיף צדפים לדפי אלבום אין שום בעיה, כי בכל פעם שאנחנו בים, הצעיר אוסף כמויות אדירות של צדפים... :)
