Together despite different directions

This is my take on case file #87 CSI plus the sketch challenge at Stuck?!. This is acutaully one photo of my boys at the seaside about 18 months ago, that I cut into two seperate photos.

My clues to solve the case:

Scheme - all 5 colors are here.

Evidence - map print, transportation accents, travel accents, flags, mist, word stickers, arrows.

Testimony: inpiration word - direction(s). my journaling, on the hidden tag to the right, says: "Brothers, so similar and yet to different. one is calm and easy going while the otherone is jumpy and hot tempered; one is calculated and needs to know everything ahead, and the otherone is spontaneous and loves surprises. You share lots of intrests, but each one of you goes in his own direction. My wish for you is that you will always be together, despite the different directions you take. that's what family is all about."

With this lo, I challenged myself NOT to use a white cs for the background. I think the whitewash for the background, along with the hotair bloon rub-on and the splatters of mist - all give some airy feeling to the page. And I pat myself on the back for using pink on a boys' layout... LOL

דף חדש שהכנתי עם תמונה של הבנים מלפני כשנה וחצי בחוף הים. התמונה נחצתה לשניים, כדי לשרת את הרעיון בבסיס הדף - ביחד למרות הכיוונים השונים.

את הדף הכנתי לפי סקיצה של !?Stuck של ראשית חודש ספטמבר ועבור האתגר המשולב ב-CSI. בדף הזה איתגרתי את עצמי להשתמש בקארדסטוק כהה עבור הרקע, ולא בלבן/בהיר כמו שאני עושה בד"כ. אני חושבת שלמרות הכהות של דף הרקע, הצלחתי להעביר תחושה אווירית וקלילה עם המריחות הלבנות ברקע, הראב-און של הכדור הפורח והשפרצות המיסט. מפיות התחרה נחתכו, כמובן, עם ידידי הטוב הביג שוט. ומה אתן אומרות על השימוש בצבע הורוד בדף של בנים? :)))

First Tasting

#1 mini challenge at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog is a very easy one - just enter an online challenge.

My #3 lo with August Counterfeit Kit, with a photo of my youngest, when he was about 6 months, tasting solid foods and starting eating on his own.

All dp are October Afternoon and so is also the red lace ribbon.

This is my take on Get Picky #10 sketch:

A few years ago we went to a beautiful zoo, and there was a botanical maze, with twisted mirrors. We had such a fun running through the maze, not knowing where the exit is, running into those twisted mirrors and making funny faces.

I used Jillibean Soup dp for the basis, and several left over dp - Kaisercraft & October Afternoon.

בחורף 2007 נסענו לגן גורו בעמק בית שאן. מעבר להנאה בהסתובבות החופשית, צפיה בקואלות והאכלת הקנגרו מכף היד, שמחנו לגלות את המבוך הצומח שבקצה גן החיות. התרוצצנו בין השבילים, איבדנו את דרכנו וצחקנו מכל מראה מעוותת בה נתקלנו בדרך. והנה הדף על המבוך ועל ההיפוכים.

דף הרקע - Jillibean Soup; הדפים המדוגמים האחרים הם שאריות מפרוייקטים אחרים מהחברות - October Afternoon ו- Kaisercrafts. האותיות הן 'תוצרת הארץ'. חותמת הציפורים היא של Hero Arts בפייפר פיסינג.

He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother - lo and a sneak peak

When I saw the sketch challenge at Design Dollies and then the elements & color challenges there, I knew right away what photo I wish to scrap for all 3 challenges. Yep, I went all the way for the trifecta!!!

The photo, with my boys at the pool, was taken almost 6 months ago, on our last vacation. The boys were having so much fun at the pool, and the eldest lifted the youngest over and over again. Naturally, it was easy for him to do so in the water. When I saw the photo, I just knew that one day I'll scrap it with the title: "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", and now I got to do it. It's one of my fav songs, and I feel the lyrics are so meaningful. Why not enjoy it, while you are visiting me? Here it is..... I made the lo listening to the song...

The Dollies also asked for something that represent cold with a twist to put something  glittery. I used glimer mist for the circle masking, stickles to highlight the circle's line and glittery rub-ons letter. Only I got it a little messy with the letters and had to correct it with some stickles. Here's a close-up:

Well, it's the best I could do... and I guess you can still understand what's written...

כשראיתי את שלושת האתגרים באתר של Design Dollies, ידעתי מייד שאני רוצה לעבוד עם התמונה הזאת, שצולמה בחופשה האחרונה שלנו באילת. הבנים עשו חיים בבריכה, והגדול הניף את הצעיר שוב ושוב. כשראיתי את התמונות שיצאו, ישר קפצה לי לראש השורה הזאת מהשיר: He Ain't Heavy, He's My brother, ובראש תייקתי את זה ברשימה של "תמונות שאני רוצה להכין להם דפים".

בעיצומו של גל החום הזה (מה זה? אין סתיו? אין גשם? מדהים), כיף להיזכר במשהו קריר, וכך גם הגוונים של הדף כולו. זאת הייתה הדרישה באתגר, למשהו שמסמל קור (והמים בבריכה במלון באילת היו מאד קרים!), וגם למשהו עם גליטר.

השתמשתי בדיסק כדי ליצור מסיכה עם גלימר מיסט ומסביב הוספתי נקודות של סטיקלס, להדגיש את קו המיתאר. לכותרת השתמשתי כמה סוגים של אותיות - סטיקרים עגולים, סטיקרים מרובעים  וראב-אונים עם גליטר. האחרונים קצת התחרבשו לי, אז עברתי לתיקון עם קצת גליטר. פית מרציפן לימדה אותי שאפשר להשאיר טעויות בדף, אז הלכתי על זה... :) אני חושבת שעדיין אפשר לקרוא את הכתוב, ואם לא, אז השורה כל כך מוכרת , שכבר משלימים מידע אישי (בחינם).

ונתתי גם הצצה קטנה לדף נוסף שהכנתי, בו חזרתי לסגנון הוינטאג', ובגדול. את הדף במלואו אפשר יהיה לראות רק ביום שלישי, שאז יעלה אתגר סקיצה חדש באתר של Frosted Designs.

אז בינתיים אפשר להשתתף באתגר הסקיצה שרץ עד יום שני, ובאתגר החדש שעלה היום, שבו צריך לשלב את המילה "תודה" בכרטיס/דף.

At the pool - lo & a sneak peak

A photo from our last vacation. We went to Eilat, and we had wonderful time together. We went to hotel we've been to for several times in the past and we like it a lot. The boys swam all the time, dived in the water, ate icecream as much as they wanted (and the younger ate a lot! LOL). It was a real great vacation.

For the basis of the lo I used a backing of a paper package I bought a while ago. I painted the edges with yellow acrylic paint and stamped it with foam stamps.

The matting, the paper for the title and journaling, and the tag for the date - are all BG.

I made the banner myself out of scraps I had. The transparency stripe over the right upper corner and the bashful blue tag on the bottom - are recycled, they were tags of the swimsuits I bought for the kids... I also used two orange brads - one on the gingham ribbon, and the other one, tiny one, on the transparency stripe.

אחרי סדרת דפים וינטאג'יים חומים, הגיע הזמן לדף צבעוני ומקושקש.

זו תמונה מחופשתנו האחרונה באילת. נסענו למג'יק סאנרייז, מלון נהדר לחופשה עם ילדים (לא להתקרב לשם בחופשה רומנטית!....). בילינו רוב הזמן בבריכות, החיצונית והפנימית, והילדים נהנו מכל רגע במים, שחו וצללו ושיפרו את כישורי המים שלהם. הגלידה החופשית ליד הבריכה היתה אחת האטרקציות המלהיבות ביותר עבור הצעיר. זו הייתה חופשה נהדרת.

כבסיס לדף השתמשתי בדף אריזה של דפים מדוגמים. צבעתי את השוליים שלו בצבע אקרילי צהוב והחתמתי עם חותמות סול. והכל התחיל בגלל שלא מצאתי אצלי שום דף מדוגם שהתאים לי למה שרציתי. בסוף יצא דף עליז ושמח, בדיוק כמו שרציתי.

בכלל המיחזור חגג בדף הזה. הרצועה השקופה בפינה הימנית העליונה, וגם התג התכול בתחתית - שניהם תגים שנלוו לבגדי הים שקניתי לילדים.

את הבאנר יצרתי משאריות של דפים שהיו לי בסלסלת השאריות (מסתבר שכדאי לשמור גם שאריות קטנות, בסוף מוצאים מה לעשות איתן).

האותיות לכותרת הן אילתור מחיתוכי סול של ספרות.

והתמונה הנוספת, בסוף הפוסט באנגלית, היא של מיני אלבום שהכנתי ליום ההולדת של חברתי הטובה, שמשמר כמה מרגעינו המשותפים במהלך 20 השנים האחרונות. יצא מרגש מאד.

So Much Fun Together - lo

This is my take to the July GDT sketch at Sketchy Thursdays.

I like how colorful the page turned out, just like the photo. The photo was taken about 5 years ago. My eldest was almost 3.5 y and my youngest was 4 m. This photo is one of several I took, so thrilled to see the joy they had playing together (they still love playing together, and fighting... LOL).

Most of the pp I used came from a pack I got as a prize from Ann (Thank you once again, Ann!). I framed all the strips with doodling and distressed them.

I like the whimsical touch the banner gives to the page.

 דף שהכנתי לפי סקיצה באתר של Sketchy Thursdays. הסקיצה מאד מצאה חן בעיני.

הדף יצא מאד צבעוני ומלא חיים, הדפים המדוגמים (שאת מרביתם קיבלתי כפרס) הולכים טוב עם הצבעוניות של התמונה.

זו תמונה שצולמה עם עוד כמה לפני כ-5 שנים. הגדול היה כמעט בן 3.5 והקטן כבן 4 חודשים. בסדרת התמונות הללו השמחה והעליזות של שניהם כל כך רבות מהמשחק המשותף (מה שנשאר עד היום, רק שהצטרפה לזה גם "חדוות" המריבות :().

פס הדגלונים מוסיף גם  הוא לעליזות של כל הדף. להכין אותו זה קצת התקשקשות ועבודה, אבל התוצאה מצדיקה את זה.
