Dare to Dream - Stuck?! Sketches Nov. 15th reveal (Blue Fern Studios & Lindy's Stamp Gang)

I love working with Blue Fern Studio papers, not only they're so beautiful, but they're heavy weight. As I was in a girly girl mood, I decided to work with BFS products and some beautiful Lindy's Gang mists to make my DT layout for Nov. 15 reveal at Stuck?! Sketches. I really love the shabby chic look of my layout.

Here's the sketch to work with, made by Laura Whitaker:

I've started with covering the  BFS paper (Love Story/ The Grand Ball) with clear gesso, then I worked with a modeling paste over TCW stencil. After it was dry, I stamped with some BFS stamps (Halftone, Dreamy), and IBS and Maya Road stamp, using Ranger's black archival ink.
Now was the time for some misting... I used Lindy's Stamp Gang products: Cotton Candy Pink, Delphinium Turquoise and Pop Rock Purple.
Matting the photo with BFS papers (Blush/ Devoted; Sanctuary/ Calling Cards), ading a stamped title (BFS /Dreamy), and some sentiments from TH chit chat, matted on a BFS paper (Timeless/ Song).
Decorating with Cheery Lynn Design die (English Tea Party), Prima flowers, metal rose, lace from my stash and microbeads). Topping all with some deluted white gesso, and that's it - finished!

I was inspired by the pastel colors and the shabby chic look, as well as the colors, of the shabby chic moodboard.
Challenge YOURself asked for their challenge to use sprays/inks and to include a photo of ourselves:

I used lots of sprays and inks here and this is me in the photo :).
Country View Challenges, which asked to use stencils. I used TCW stencil on the background.

Inspired by the sea

Case file # 148 is up at CSI, with gorgeous layouts by the Guest Designers and the DT. Here's case file #148:

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - all colors are here. with the gorgeous 7 Dots Studio papers, it was so easy to match the papers with the right colors.

Evidence - flowers, branches, watercolors, tags, strings, pen work.

Testimony - I love the seaside very much. it calms down, inspire and I can spend hours by the sea. so this is what my journaling is all about. I wrote is in a kind of a recipe and used the IW inspiring.

I was also inspired by the current challenge at Scrap Around The World, with this beautiful inspiration moodboard:

I was inspired by the flowers photo, with some of the colors (yellow, pink, pale green and cream).

All pp, stickers and stamps are from 7 Dots Studio. Chipboard is from Creative Embellishments and the flairs are Studio40Fourteen's.

True Beauty - a lo for Stuck?! June 1st reveal plus GD for Color Me Scrappy

One of my April's layouts won Top 3 at Color Me Scrappy, and I was invited to be a Guest Designer over there for June. Here's June 1st palette, with the added creteria to use at least 3 different manufacturers. Here's the palette:

I combined it with my DT assignment for Stuck?! June 1st sketch:

I flipped the sketch to the side, and this is what I came up with:

 At first, the color combo, with the pink, was very challenging for me, but I'm so pleased with how my lo came out! so soft and serene. The photo was taken on March this year, on the deck at Tel Aviv port. I've had a wonderful day, great weather and meeting my BFF.

This is my take on case file #112 at CSI. I loved the subtle and beautiful palette, and my photo, taken at Lugano lake on 1995, was a perfect match with it's colors.

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - all colors are here.

Evidence- patterned background, something sheer, something puffy, wood, frames, flowers, buttons, floral pattern.

Testimony - I've made a vellum pocket, and my journaling is in the envelope, inside the pocket. I wrote about that awesome vacation I've had and how the tranquility of the vies calmed me and made me reach some important desicions concerning my life at that time: "Over there, in front of the beautiful tranquil vies of Lugano lake, I could feel serenity, take a good insight of my life. There, at that tranquility, I've reached important descisions, thae led me, half a year later, to leave my hometown, my job, a bad realationship I've had, and to move forward to something better for me. Lugano, August 1995."
I finally used my so hoarded Fancy Pants products - mainly Park Bench collection (pp, stickers, alphas, die-cuts, a paper bag and an envelope). I used Petaloo flowers and flowers I've made with Die Namics dies. The frame was also made with Die-Namics dies. I also used Studio Calico heart wood veneers, American Crafts cs & brads, EK flower bling. The doilies and the floral swirls were cut with Cheery Lynn dies, and I colored the swirls with Hiedi Swap color shine & Lindy's Stamp Gang Sturbust mists, I love the shimmery look of it. Buttons and pearls, and a builder tape, are from my stash.

Homeland

A few days ago, my youngest came with some homework, to ask the parents what does 'Homeland' mean to them. This homework was the inspiration for my layout.

I used the fab sketch from Once Upon A... Sketch:

I just LOVE my homeland, I love traveling all around, see all the beautiful sites - from snowy mountains to yellowish desert, seaside and green forests, ancient places and modern cities.

The jouranling lines are from a beautiful Israeli song, and that's what it is in free translation: "I have no other country, even if my country is burning, only Hebrew word penetrates into my veins, into my soul, in a painful body, in a starving heart- here is my home."

On the back of the page I wrote my answers to my youngest: "A homeland for me is first of all "Home", the place where I feel most safe, most comfortable. The place where I was born, where my parents and greatparents fought for freedom. All the beautiful sites, the history of this beloved country. The place where my children were born. The place where I can live freely and be what I am."

My clues to solve the case were:

First of all - I was so inspired by the calla flowers on the inspiration photo, so my main embellishment are the handmade calla flowers.

Evidence - flowers, fabric (the brown felt flower), decorative borders, lace, stamps)

Testimony - the journaling is kind of a love poem to my beloved country, and I added pearls.
