Geological Phenomena - Stuck?! Aug 1st reveal

For Aug 1st, Stuck?! Sketches are partnering with LCOM with their color challenge.

I used photos from our travel to the Ramon visitors center, which is dedicated both to the Ramon Crater and to the Israeli astronaut, the late Illan Ramon. 

Ramon Crater (Machtesh Ramon) is one of the most beautiful places I know, and the visitor center gives some explanatins on how this geological phenomenon happened. The exhibition on Illan Ramon's life is both very interesting and heartfelt.

Let it Snow - Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge Feb 15th reveal

I'm so happy that Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge is back and I was so thrilled when Anne invited me to return to the DT. 

The new challenge is a sketch challenge:

The photo was taken about 2 years ago, on a snowy day. We thought we had a lot of snow then. how little we knew... LOL cause this year we've had a very big snow storm here.

I used my Feb Counterfeit Kit, with some gesso, Studio Calico's Mr. Huey's mist, a Prima stamp, Studio Calico mask and TH distress ink.

I also used some of my new Creative Embellishments' chippies. The title was painted with gesso and distress stain, and then I used emobssing powder, a stamp and perfect pearls. The small snowflakes were painted with gesso and distress stain and some glitter powder.

I just love CE chippies! they're so easy to use and so beautiful, plus my order arrived so quickly! I think it was one of the quickest I've ever had.
I would like to enter this lo to the masks/stencils challenge at The City Scrapper.

דף שהכנתי כחלק מצוות העיצוב ב-Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge, לאתגר סקיצה. הסקיצה פשוטה אבל מוצלחת ומאפשרת פרשנויות רבות.

השתמשתי בחומרים מקיט החיקוי של חודש פברואר, והוספתי מיסטים, ג'סו, חותמות, מסיכה ודיו דיסטרס. בנוסף השתמשתי גם בצ'יפבורדים חדשים שהגיעו אלי ממש לאחרונה, מחברה חדשה בארה"ב. הם מאד מוצלחים ונוחים לעבודה. על הכותרת עבדתי עם ג'סו, distress stain, אבקת אמבוסינג, החתמה ו-perfect pearls. הצ'יפבורדים של פתיתי השלג הקטנים נצבעו בג'סו וב-distress stain, ומעל פיזרתי אבקת נצנצים.

1st Snow Day - Sketchabilities Dec 30th reveal

We're nearly the end of 2013.... where did time fly? anyway, it's time for a new sketch at Sketchabilities, and Karan rocked again with a fab sketch:

The photo is of my eldest, almost 2 years ago. It was the 1st time we had snow here...

I've made a quilled snowflake, and used a pp with some snowflakes. I worked with gesso over a mask on the upper and lower corners, and added some grayish glittered flowers. I also used Prima's stitches stamp and some washi tape.

סוף השנה האזרחית הגיע ואוטוטו מתחילה שנה אזרחית חדשה. בטרם מסתיימת השנה, זה זמן לסקיצה חדשה ב-Sketchabilities.

התמונה היא דווקא לא מסערת השלג האחרונה, אלא מיום השלג הראשון שהיה לנו לפני כמעט שנתיים.

הכנתי פתית שלג מקווילינג, וצרפתי לו שני פרחים כסופים מנצנצים וחיתוכי עלים מסולסלים. בקצוות עבדתי עם ג'סו על מסיכה, ומעל החתמתי בחותמת תיפורים של פרימה. השתמשתי גם בוואשי טייפ כחול מנוקד בלבן.

Star Witness at CSI!

This week's case file at CSI has a wonderful sketch by Emma Stafrace and a beautiful pallete. Here's case file #102 from CSI:

After having a snow storm all week, half the time with no heating except one electic heater, I wanted something sunny, warm and pleasent for my layout. So no gesso, modeling paste, mists, etc. this time!

The photo of my sons was taken about 1.5 years ago, on a trip to the Dead Sea. 

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - all 5 colors used.

Sketch - changed it a little to fit my one rectangle photo, but otherwise kept it pretty close to the sketch.

Evidence - a bird, gold accents, dots, leaves, small dots, circles, solid background.

Testimony - my  journaling is on 2 hidden tags, with the tiny green brads and tiny orange leaves, underneath the pp. I used IW 'give', 'love' & 'true' (truly) and I wrote about a figurative gift X 3: the gift of life I gave my two sons, the gift of pure happiness they give me, and the gift I gave each one of them, having a sibling:

"On a certain point of my life, after failing to find my 'Prince Charming', I decided to give myself the greatest gift of all - to give birth to you. I gave you the gift of life, and you give me, each and every day, the gift of happiness. Immediately after giving birth the first time, I knew I would have another child. Even though you both always fight each other (and breaking my heart with that!), I truly and strongly believe that I gave each one of you the gift of having a sibling. I know that deep in your hearts you know that too. I love you always and forever. Mom."

It also goes for the 'my favorite things' challenge at Frosted Designs (love that song!) - I used roses, brown papers, string (baker's twine), cream colored cs, wings (the bird).

I used Echo Park papers, Purple Pumpkin fabric buttons, AC brads and foam alphas, skickers (long forgotten!) and flowers from my stash.

אחרי שבוע בסערת שלג, כשברוב הימים לא היה לנו כלל חימום מלבד תנור חשמלי אחד, רציתי משהו חמים ונעים לסקרפפ איתו. אז הפעם אין משחת עיצוב, ג'סו, מיסטים וכיוצ"ב.

האתגר המשולב ב-CSI היה מושלם - גם סקיצה נפלאה, גם פלטת צבעים חמה ונעימה, וגם השראה נפלאה. הכנתי דף עם תמונה של הילדודס מלפני כשנה וחצי בנחל דוד מעל ים המלח, והדף הוא על מתנה 3X: מתנת החיים שנתתי לילדי, מתנת האושר שהם נותנים לי בחזרה והמתנה שנתתי לכל אחד מהם בכך שיש לו אח.

I was so happy when I was invited to be a GDT at ScrapFriends with their a new color challenge - Yummy Scrap #19.  I combined it with my DT assignment for sketch #103 at Sketchabilities.

My lo is kind of a homage to the late Lou Reed, who passed a few weeks ago. Lou Reed's song, Just A Perfect Day, is one of my all time fav songs.
I used papers from Glitz, Echo Park, Webster's Pages and Basic Grey.

The photo is of me and my boys, on a trip we had about a year ago. It was really a perfect day, and I'm glad I spent it with my beloved kids.

It also goes for the challenge over SUYS, which asked to use washi tape and paint, and at least one handmade item. I used black chevron washi tape, mists and distress stain. My handmade item is the flower.

הוזמנתי להיות מעצבת אורחת לאתגר צבעים בבלוג ScrapFriends, ומאד הוחמאתי ושמחתי. זה בלוג נפלא, עם אתגרים נהדרים (לסירוגין - סקיצות ושילובי צבעים), ומלא מלא בהשראה. פלטת הצבעים הייתה מאד דרמטית, אבל השתמשתי בתמונה עליזה ושמחה מטיול שלנו בנחל הקיבוצים לפני כשנה, כשהדף נעשה כמעין הומאז' ליוצר הנפלא לו ריד, אשר נפטר לאחרונה. השיר הזה שלו, Just A Perfect Day, הוא אחד האהובים עלי ביותר.

שילבתי עם עבודת DT נוספת שלי, בבלוג הסקיצות Sketchabilities, עם סקיצה חדשה שעלתה היום.
השתמשתי בדפים של Glitz, Echo Park, Webster's Pages, Basic Grey, אותיות של lilybeeת וואשי טייפ ורשת. את הפרח, שהיה לבן צחור במקור, צבעתי עם distress stain, כדי להגיע לצבע האפרפר שבפלטת הצבעים. עם distress stain לבן עברתי על הדף השחור, כדי לתת עוד קצת אווריריות לרקע. בסוף גם הוספתי, איך לא, כמה פאייטים :)))).

Drago (Bakugan)-Sketchabilities #102

A new sketch at Sketchabilities, #102, and a fun one :). For this lo, I used a photo of my youngest, about 1.5 years ago, on Purim, when the kids wear costumes. He was a great fan of Bakugan and Drago was one of his fav images. As Purim 2011 ended, he decided that a year later, he wants the Drago costume, and so he got it.

I was inspired by yummyscrap #18 colour palette at ScrapFriends:

I used some old papers I've had for ages - DCWV, Cosmo Cricket, October Afternoon, Lily Bee Design, and old book pages. But on the other hand, I also used some newer products to create my mixed media background - Prima's stamps, a Stampers Anonymous stamp, Mr. Huey's mists, Ranger TH distress inks, washi tapes, baker's twine and gesso.

סקיצה חדשה ב-Sketchabilities, ושוב בסגנון מיקסד מדיה.

התמונה היא של צעיר הבנים, בפורים לפני כשנה וחצי, מחופש לדראגו (אחת מהדמויות של בקוגן). כבר שנה קודם לכן, משהסתיים פורים, הוא הודיע שזו התחפושת שהוא רוצה לשנה הבאה, וכך חסך לי גם כסף וגם טרדה בשנה שלאחר מכן :)) (לקנות תחפושות באפטר פרטי של פורים מוזיל עלויות בגדול).

הדפים בהם השתמשתי הם עתיקים ביותר ובלתי שמישים בד"כ, אבל כאן הם התאימו לי לצבעים ולאווירה הכוללת של הדף - DCWV, קוסמו קריקט, אוקטובר אפרטנון, לילי בי. השתמשתי גם בדפים של ספר ישן, עליהם מרחתי ג'סו עם מברשת יבשה. ברקע גם הוספתי חותמת מקושקשת של פרימה ושל סטמפרס אנונימוס. אגב, רואות את התפרים בדף? הכל אחיזת עיניים... זו חותמת תיפורים של פרימה, אחת מתוך הסט הזה. סט חותמות נפלא לשימוש מגוון. ממש מומלץ.

כמה השפרצות של מר יואי היקר, באדום ובשחור, ומשחקים עם וואשי טייפים, בין היתר וואשי טייפ של הפילם שהוא פשוט מוצלח מאד (נדבק הרבה יותר טוב מאשר הוואשי טייפים האחרים).

case file #94 at CSI

This another lo I've made for case file #94 at CSI, but with a totally different approach - more artsy and funky than my other take on this case file. I think it's great to see two different takes on the same color palette.

My clues to solve the case were:

Evidence - stack something (did I say anything about layers and layers? LOL), woodgrain, something crinckled (some of the dp).

Testimony - record a funny story. The photo are of my youngest, the drama king of our home. On a Tae Kwon Do test there were yellow cones, and they reminded my boy of a chinese hat. I had to take those photos... LOL My journaling says: "In the middle of the Tae Kwon Do stage test, the yellow cones reminded you of a chinese hat. Right away you put the cone on your head, and immediately your fingesr pulled your eys to look like chinese eyes. And there you were 'chinese babaingi' (it's a nickname he got once his eyes got swollen cause of a mosquito bite).

דף נוסף שהכנתי לאתגר ב-CSI, עם אותה פלטת צבעים, אבל בסגנון אחר לגמרי מהדף הקודם. התמונות הן של צעיר הבנים, מלך הדרמה בביתנו. במבחן דרגה בטאיקוונדו פוזרו קונוסים צהובים לצורך התרגילים, והם הזכירו לו כובע סיני. מייד הוא חבש אחד מהקונוסים על ראשו, ועם אצבעותיו משך את העיניים שיהיו מלוכסנות, והנה הוא סיני. אי אפשר היה לעמוד בקסמו השובבי :-).

King of the World - #99 Sketchabilities

This is my first DT lo for Sketchabilities and I'm very excited about being part of this wonderful DT.  The photos are of my eldest, wearing a king costume at 4Y. For me he was,and will ever be, 'King of the World'.

Here's the wonderful sketch:

I lowered it instead of the center look the sketch had, otherwise I've kept very true to the sketch. I love the monochromatic look of this lo and I think that the black touches here and there add a lot of dramatic look to the lo.

For the background I used distress inks, chalkboard mist, modeling paste with a stencil, stamps and washi tape. Here are some close-ups on the details:
