Watch You Grow - Special Agent at CSI case file #97

This is my 2nd page as Special Agent at CSI this month. In opposite to last week's pallete, this week's one is a soft and airy one.

Here's case file #97 at CSI:

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - all colors are used here. the background paper stripes are in velvet blue color, but no matter how many times I took the photos again and again, it still looks white/gray, so you'll just have to believe me on this.

Sketch by Emma Stafrace -used.

Evidence - patterned paper for background, leaves, frames, dry emboosing (the white frames of the photos and the teal cs), chevron pattern, fabric (jute flowers as matiing for the ribbon flowers), transparent accents (the due drops).

Testimony - framed the journaling spot, IW-grow.  I wrote: "It's a great delight to watch you grow by the years, turning from a baby who can hardly contain all the stimulation around you, into a growing up boy, who learns how to regulate himself."

I took two photos of my youngest, one when he was about 7 months old, and the other when he was about 7Y, to showcase the growing up.
I would like to enter this lo, reflecting my boy's growing, to the 'Change is beautiful' challenge at Berry71bleu.

דף שני שהכנתי כמעצבת אורחת ב-CSI. השבוע, בניגוד לשבוע שעבר, פלטת הצבעים מאד רכה ואוורירית.  השתמשתי בשתי תמונות של צעיר הבנים, האחת כשהיה כבן 7 חודשים והשניה כשהיה כבן 7 שנים, כדי להמחיש את גדילתו לאורך השנים, בהתאמה לג'ורנלינג.

ברוח תמונת ההשראה והצבעים האווריריים, הפעם זה דף בלי הרבה טכניקות ואפילו עם מעט שכבות (יחסית). מדף מדוגם חתכתי את העלים הירוקים הגדולים, הוספתי באנרים של קארדסטוק שעבר הבלטה ודף מדוגם, פרחי יוטה שנצבעו עם גלימר מיסט חום כדי להעמיק את הגוון החום, ומשמשים מצע לפרחים עשויים מסרטים. להעצמת התחושה האוורירית, הוספתי גם כמה dew drops ופאייטים. הכותרת נעשתה בעמל רב של תפירה. כתב היד לא מדהים, אבל הוא שלי...

High Expectations

After a very busy week, I finally got some time to scrap a little, so naturally I worked with CSI's case file from last week (there's already a new one...).

The photo is of my eldest, and it was taken a little more than a year ago, but I used it to document something from now days.

Here's case file # 93 from CSI:

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - all colors used.

Evidence - airplane accent, something dangling, pinwheels, stripes/plaid patterns, mixed media background (masking with modeling paste, which was colored with Mr. Huey's yellow mist), triangles, a string, a tag.

Testimony - on the tag behind the layers. I was inspired by the inspiration words, but a little different - high; unexpected which turned to expectations... :)

My boy reaches adolescent, and it sure shows up.  My journaling documents an event from two days ago -my boy came back from school with homework, to ask me what are my expectations from him on his Bar Mitzvah year (if you're interested what Bar Mitzvah is, you can read about it HERE). I thought about it and my answer was: "My expectations from you for this year are that you'll discover the changes you're going through, physically and emotionally, and that you'll learn to accept them. I wish and hope that  you'll feel free to talk with me about anything, and most important - I wish you'll be happy and thay you'll enjoy this year".

Yesterday he told me that he read it out (and he said he was not shy to do this...). I hope his teacher didn't think that his mom does not understand the difference between expectations and hopes... I do understand, and yet this is my interpretaion. I really think that high expectations are not necessarily a bad thing...

I used papers from different manufacturers: Studio Calico, Fancy Pants, Carta Bella, Amrican Crafts. The airplane is paper piecing of a cute die cut. I also used MR vellum arrow, Mr. Huey's triangles mask, MR stamp, MFT stamp and sequins.

אחרי שבוע עמוס מאד, מצאתי סוף סוף זמן גם לסקראפ. עבדתי עם האתגר השבועי ב-CSI. התמונה היא של בכורי, מלפני כשנה וחצי. התגית מתעדת אירוע מהימים האחרונים - בביה"ס הם התבקשו לשאול את ההורים מה הציפיות של ההורים מהם בשנת המצווה. התשובה שלי הייתה: "שתגלה את השינויים שחלים בך, הגופניים והרגשיים, ותלמד להבין ולקבל אותם. שתמיד תוכל לבוא ולדבר איתי על כל דבר, והכי חשוב - שתהיה  מאושר ותהנה מהשנה הזאת."

השתמשתי בדפים מדוגמים מחברות שונות, בין היתר מהקולקציה של Carta Bella - Rough&Tumble. זו קולקציה נפלאה לעיצובי בנים - גם הדיגום של הדפים וגם הצבעים - כל כך עליזים ושמחים. אני ממש שמחה שמתחילים להביא לארץ יותר ויותר מוצרים שמתאימים לעיצוב עבור בנים.

השתמשתי גם עם משחת עיצוב, שנצבעה במיסט צהוב של מר יואי, על  מסיכה של מר יואי בצורת משולשים, ועם חותמות שונות של חיצים. החץ האדמדם בתגית הג'ורנלינג הוא החתמה ואמבוסינג עם אחת מהאבקות בסט אבקות אמבוסינג.

Practicly Perfect in every Way - GD at 1~2~3 Get Scrappy

When Melina asked me to be a Guest Designer for October's challenge at 1~2~3 Get Scrappy, I was very honored and thrilled. The challenge board is so much fun, and there are so many ways to scrap with it. Here's the board:

I took the vertical row on the right - stitching, the color orange and more than 3 different patterned papers. I used 9 different pattened papers - the background, in the stitched circles, the fan flower and the 'button' on top of that flower.

The photo is of my eldest, resting a little from sweaming with his brother and cousins, on a vacation we had in Eilat.

הוזמנתי להיות מעצבת אורחת בבלוג Get Scrappy 1~2~3 (הרעיון הוא של לוח איקס מיקס, ממנו צריך לבחור שורה/טור - לאורך או לרוחב או באלכסון, ולהכין דף עם האלמנטים שבשורה שבחרתן).

לאחרונה יצא לי לעצב דפים עם מיקסד מדיה ו/או מרובי שכבות ואלמנטים. הפעם בחרתי, כגיוון, להכין דף עם מראה נו"פ. חתכתי בדף הרקע כמה עיגולים בגדלים שונים,  ומסביב תפרתי עם חוט רקמה. מתחת לעיגולים החתוכים הדבקתי ניירות מדוגמים עליזים (כולם, אגב, שאריות). עוד פרח אקורדיון מעוטר בפרפר מפונצ'ץ', סטיקר לכותרת וזהו.

התמונה היא של הבכור, תופס קצת שלווה ומנוחה אחרי שחייה וכיופים בים האדום עם אחיו ובני הדוד.

So Cool! - GD for Scrap Africa

I was very thrilled when my lo 'Strike a Pose' lo was chosen as one of the Top at Scrap Africa  for their 'Blue/Green and White challenge , and I was very honored when Denise asked me to be their Guest Designer for October 1st challenge.

I was asked to make a lo based on this sketch from Page Maps:

The photo is of my youngest, about 18 months ago, at the beach. 

For the background I used CW bricks mask with modeling paste and then I maked the 'bricks' with another CW circles mask, to mimic the pebbles in the photo. I used some lace, zig-zag trim, star and film strip die-cut (both Sizzix TH Alternations). I also used some gauze, and  placed some metal embellishments on it, as if you've found a treasure comming out of the sea.

זכיתי במקום ראשון בבלוג של Scrap Africa באתגר של כחול/ירוק ולבן, עם הדף הזה, והוזמנתי להיות מעצבת אורחת שלהם החודש, עם אתגר סקיצה.

עבדתי עם תמונה של צעיר הבנים בחוף הים, שצולמה לפני כשנה וחצי. הרקע מורכב ממסיכה של לבנים עם משחת עיצוב, ולאחר שהמשחה התייבשה, החתמתי אותה עם מסיכה נוספת של עיגולים, כדי לדמות את חלוקי האבן שעל חוף הים. השתמשתי בתחרה ובסרט זיג-זג ובחיתוך של סרט צילום שנעשה עם ידידי הביג שוט. הוספתי גם תחבושת עליה מיקמתי כמה קישוטי מתכת, כאילו מצאת אוצר שנפלט מבין גלי הים.

My 10th laout with my Counterfeit Kit! and I thing it's going to be the last one this month, cause I used my kit to the most little pieces. I still have some leftovers, so I just might surprise myself and make onother lo with this kit.

The photo is again of my oldest, this time when he was about 5Y old. Love the happiness on his darling face :))).

דף עשירי (!!) מקיט החיקוי של חודש ינואר. אני חושבת שזה יהיה הדף האחרון שלי לחודש הזה, כי נותרו לי רק שאריות קטנות מהקיט, אבל אולי אפתיע ובכל זאת אכין עוד דף איתן (ועם השלמות).

הסקיצה הפשוטה מצאה חן בעיני והדפים המדוגמים שהיו בקיט שלי ממילא התאימו לאתגר המשולב ב-CSI.

השפרצתי קצת מיסט שחור, ו'לכלכתי' את שולי העיגול בדיו שחור. וגם הפעם השתמשתי ב-flair buttons. הם פשוט תוספת מוצלחת ביותר לקישוט דפים.

So Excited

Another lo made of my Jan Counterfeit Kit, with a photo of my youngest, on his borther's 5th birthday party. The little one was so excited to participate in that party, to play along with the "big" kids. He was really thrilled :). I love this photo, capturing that chubby cheek :))).

I was inspired by #141 palette at The Color Rooms:

I love the little touches of red here and there, I think they really add some interest to the page.

I used sketch #13 from Scrap Africa, only turned it vertical:

I used texture modeling paste, fussy cutting and hand stitching around the page. Papers are mix and match from Bazzill, Ruby Rock-It, Basic Grey. The journaling card is from one of my previous counterfeit kits.

על הדף הזה אפשר לומר "היהפוך כושי עורו".... בסופו של דבר אנחנו בד"כ נשארים עם הסגנון האישי הייחודי שלנו, ולא "הופכים את עורנו". זה מה שקרה לי עם הסקיצה ביוצאות מהקווים. במבט ראשון (ושני, ושלישי ואפילו שישי) בכלל לא אהבתי את הסקיצה.
ועוד התלוותה אליה קריאה נרגשת למינימליזם... כאילו דאהההה???? לא מתאים לי, לא בשבילי. זה לא שיש לי בעיה עם white space, בכלל לא (למשל בדף הזה שהכנתי ממש לאחרונה),  אבל משהו בסקיצה הזאת לא נראה לי. אז עזבתי את זה.

אבל אתגר זה אתגר, לא? אז בדקתי איך אני יכולה בכל זאת לבצע את הסקיצה הזאת, עם תרגום אישי שלי, עם הסגנון שלי.

אז מה היה לנו בסקיצה הזאת. שתי נקודות מיקוד שוות (כבר בעיה....), ממוקמות בשני קצוות מנוגדים של הדף. בכל מוקד, תמונה עם מאטינג וכותרת. באחד מהמוקדים גם קישוט קטן ומינימליסטי.

ואיך מתרגמים את הסקיצה הזאת למשהו שבכל זאת יתקבל על דעתי? קודם כל משנים את הפרופורציות. מוקד אחד קיבל דגש רב יותר - הוא גדול יותר, עשיר יותר בפרטים. שימוש בתמונה גדולה מאד של תקריב, כמה שכבות מאטינג של דפים מדוגמים, עיטור תחרה בתחתית, וכל אלה מורכבים על רקע של קיר לבנים ומסיכה עם משחת עיצוב בעלת טקסטורה. 

יופי, כבר נהיה לי טוב יותר בעין.

המוקד השני, המשני, הפך להיות המקום לכותרת של הדף כולו ולג'ורנלינג. כדי לשמור על הסימטריה ועל החזרה (שני אלמנטים עיצוביים חשובים), שני המוקדים 'מתכתבים' זה עם זה בעיטור הפרחים הכחלחלים הגזורים, בפיסת דף מדוגם אדמדם שמציץ מהצד, ובנגיעות של הפרחים האדומים.

המוקד הגדול והראשי קיבל את כותרת המשנה - התאריך, שהושמה בתוך תגית עם חוט אופים מסתלסל, וכך שמרתי גם על האלמנט הקישוטי שלצד המוקד התחתון.

עוד נגיעות עיצוביות שהפכו את הדף הזה ל"שלי" הן הדיסטרוס של הדפים, ובמיוחד של דף הבסיס, שהוספה לו שכבה מתחת של דף תכלת מנוקד בעדינות. עוד תפירה ידנית מסביב לכל הדף - ויכולתי להסתכל בסיפוק על הדף הזה. עכשיו זה נראה בסדר גמור.

והתמונה המדהימה הזאת היא של צעיר הבנים, כשהיה כבן שלוש שנים, משתתף בהתרגשות רבה בחגיגת יום ההולדת של אחיו הבכור.

Holiday Tradition

With all the holidays around, there are lots of challenges asking for "holiday" theme. Holiday in English have two meaning, either festive day or vacaion, so I took the liberty to go along the "vacaion" meaning, and used a photo of mine on one of our vactions in Eilat. Whenever we have a vcation in Eilat we don't just stay at the hotel, but we take trips around, either on our way to Eilat or on our way back. I wrote about this tradition in the hidden journaling on the tag tacked behind the photo.

I used December sketch from C'est Magnifique:

I used many CheeryLynn dies - French Pastry; Fancyfull Flourish, Mini Fancyfull Flourish; Francesca lace border.

My inspiration came from case file #50 at CSI:

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - used all 5 colors.

Evidence - wood (the background dp), fabric (the little white felt flower), stitching, stripes (diagonal on the dp).

Testimony - my hidden jouranling is about our holiday (vaction) tradition.

ברוח החגים הנוצריים, הרשת מלאה באתגרים שהנושא שלהם הוא "חג", רק שלמילה Holiday באנגלית יש משמעות לא רק של חג, אלא גם של חופשה. את המשמעות הנוספת הזאת לקחתי כדי לתעד מסורת משפחתית שלנו לגבי חופשות שלנו באילת. אנחנו נמצאים באילת בתדירות של פעם בשנה, ובכל פעם אנחנו מנצלים את ההזדמנות לאיזה טיול בטבע, בין שבדרך לאילת ובין שבדרך חזרה (ולפעמים גם וגם).

פלטת הצבעים שהייתה ב-CSI מאד אהובה עלי, כך שהיה לי קל לעבוד איתה.  מכשיר ההשחתה של אינגבילד בולם עבד הרבה, וכך גם הביג שוט. אני חושבת שאחד מיתרונותיו הגדולים ביותר של הביג שוט, הוא דווקא היותו בלתי מתקפל. בניגוד לקאטלבאג, אי אפשר לקפל אותו קומפקטית ולהכניס לארון. הוא דייר קבע על השולחן, מה שעושה את השימוש בו לכל כך נגיש.
הוספתי גם חיתוך קארדסטוק של Kaisercraft, פרח גדול של Manorhouse Creations (יש להם פרחים מהממים, בהחלט תחרות ראויה לפרימה...) וחותמת של סרט צילום.
