Edit: Top 3 (4) at Scrap Africa!

I find monochromatic layouts very challenging, especially if it's 'White with a Pinch of Other color'  challenge, so when I saw the new challenge at Scrap Africa, I knew I just have to give it a try.

I used Nov sketch from Purple Pumpkin (and also used a PP flair button). Here's the sketch:

There are many ways to deal with 'white on white' projects, and I used some of them on my lo. I used different textures - builder tape, masking with modeling paste, layers, raising objects with 3-D foam adhesive, etc.

דפים מונוכרומטיים מאד מאתגרים, במיוחד אם הם בסגנון של 'לבן ונגיעה קלה של צבע נוסף'. לכן, כשראיתי את האתגר ב-Scrap Africa, החלטתי לנסות ולהתמודד איתו. אתגר מהסוג הזה הוא במיוחד מורכב, כאשר זו ואריאציה של 'לבן על לבן'. יש כמה טכניקות להתמודד עם אתגר מהסוג הזה, ובחלקן השתמשתי בדף הזה - טקסטורות שונות, שכבות, הגבהה עם דבק תלת-מימד, מסיכה עם משחת עיצוב וכו'.
השתמשתי בתבניות חיתוך של CheeryLynn מאיקס מיקס - בורדר של פרנצ'סקה; בורדר נוסף, סלסול עלים, דוילי של מסיבת תה אנגלית ודוילי נוספת. השתמשתי גם בחיתוך נוסף, בצורת עץ עם ענפים.

At Rabin's Grave בקבר רבין

I wanted to scrap this photo for a very long time. I've been waiting for the right muse, the right sketch, the right moment... and finally I've made it.

The photo was taken nearby the late Israeli Prime Minister, Ytzhak Rabin, who was assassinated on November 4th 1995, at the end of a peace rally (you can read about it here). 

I took my boys to his grave when we were on a visit at Mount Herzel (our national cemetery), about 4.5 years ago. I'm not sure what they remeber from that visit, and we will be going there again, but I wanted to document that visit.

את התמונה הזאת רציתי כבר מזמן לעצב בדף, רק שחיכיתי למוזה המתאימה, לסקיצה הנכונה ובכלל - לרגע הנכון, וכל אלו הגיעו משום מה עכשיו.

התמונה צולמה בהר הרצל, ליד קברו של יצחק רבין המנוח. היינו בדרכנו לסופ"ש עם חברים בים המלח, ולקחתי את הילדים לביקור בהר הרצל, כולל במוזיאון. אני לא יודעת כמה ומה הם זוכרים מהביקור הזה, ומן הסתם עוד נשוב לשם בעתיד לפחות עוד פעם אחת.

אגב, למי שעדיין לא יצא לו לבקר במוזיאון הרצל המחודש, אני ממליצה בחום על ביקור שם. האופן החוויתי בה בנויה התצוגה מותיר רושם עז. עבורי הביקור שם היה רגשי וחוויתי מאד, עם חיבור מחודש לערכים ישנים וטובים, שכמעט ונשתכחו מאיתנו. המילים "להיות עם חופשי בארצנו, ארץ ציון ירושלים" מקבלות משמעות עמוקה מאד כשפוסעים בין חללי המיצג השונים, במיוחד כשלצידך פוסע דור ההמשך. גם הם, כמוני, נולדו לתוך מציאות קיימת, של מדינה יהודית מובנת מאליה, אך אני עוד גדלתי על סיפוריהם של הורי, שנטלו חלק בהקמתה של המדינה. החיבור הזה מתעצם בביקור במקום.

ולחלק העיצובי של הדף הזה - הצבעים של הדפים והקישוטים נגזרו, כמובן, מצבעי התמונה עצמה. בביקור שלנו שרר קור עז בירושלים, והילדים היו עטופים היטב בבגדים חמים. כובעי הצמר הסרוגים בפסים של אדום וכחול, והכפתורים האדומים במעיל הבכור - היוו את ההשראה.

מרבית החומרים נלקחו מקיט החיקוי של חודש אוגוסט, ודף הקראפט של המסגרת הפנימית הוא שארית מדף הצלליות שהכנתי לאחרונה.

הבאנר הגדול נחתך באופן לא סימטרי. לאחרונה התחלתי לחתוך את הבאנרים כך, כי בעיני זה מוסיף עניין לדף. הבאנרים הכפולים הקטנים מורכבים מדף מדוגם שעליו סרט מפוספס. האותיות הן 'תוצרת הארץ'.

at Lasting Memories for their "Cool" challenge!

The #2 challenge at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog is to make a lo and then a card inspired by your lo and using the same supplies you've already used for that lo. I think it's a great way to use your supplies and especially those left overs you have after finishing your lo.

The photo is of my youngest, having fun at the beach:

supplies:  MM (Paper Reverie collection) for the bacground; My Mind's Eye dp (Citron, Nutmeg, On the sunny side); My Mind's Eye layerd stickers (Nugmeg); My Mind's Eye brads (Nutmeg); TA glimmer mists; rhinestones, tag and transparent date lable - from my stash.
For my lo I used the sketch + theme from Once Upon A Sketch..., and I chose summer for my season. Here's Nadia Cannizzo's sketch:

The journaling is on the tag, and it says, in Hebrew: "You're a real boy, all the time. running into the sea, jumping at the waves, enjoying every single moment of the summer fun".

האתגר השני בבלוג של קיט החיקוי הוא להכין דף מעוצב ובהשראתו - כרטיס, עם חומרים שנשארו מהדף המעוצב. זו שיטה טובה מאד לניצול שאריות, כי על השולחן מונחים כבר ממילא החומרים המתאימים, ולא צריך לשבור את הראש על התאמת דפים וקישוטים. מאחר שלא החלטתי עדיין לאיזה אירוע אשתמש בכרטיס, השארתי אותו בלי כיתוב כלשהו. עם החותמות שעליו וקישוט הבאנר, הוא יכול להתאים גם ככרטיס נשי וגם ככרטיס גברי, כרטיס ורסטילי...

קייטנת אמא עדיין בעיצומה. אתמול היינו בתערוכת הדינוזאורים בתל אביב. למרות שהיה די עמוס, נהנינו שלושתנו מהתערוכה. דינוזאורים זה אחד מהנושאים האהובים ביותר על צעיר הבנים, שהיה נרגש ביותר לקראת התערוכה. הוא גם גילה ידע ובקיאות מרשימים ומה שהדהים אותי ביותר - היה מאד סבלני לשמוע ולקרוא את כל ההסברים בתערוכה (שחלקם היו די ארוכים, אך מלאי מידע מעניין).

לסיום מושלם, קינחנו במקס ברנר שוקולד בר... אהבה גדולה נוספת של צעיר הבנים. זה היה ספונטני לחלוטין, כך שהשמחה וההתרגשות היו מושלמות.
היום זה יום סרט בקייטנת אמא ונראה מה מתוכנן לימים הבאים של יתרת חופשת הקיץ.

This is my take on Case File No. 18 at CSI. here's the case file:

The colors on my lo are not exatcly those of the file, but I thing they're pretty close.
The clues I used: 
Evidence - flowers, leaves, oversized flowers; Testimony - I used the IW of "Grow", and the journaling spot is in a flower shape and with printed flowers on it. I also added two flower rhinestones on it.
Most of the supplies are from my May Counterfeit Kit, and I added the alphas and journaling spot from my April Counterfeit Kit.
I fussy cut the big flowers from the rose dp I've made myself from a napkin :).

דף מעוצב נוסף עם קיט החיקוי שלי לחודש מאי, שהוכן לאתגר משולב של צבעים/חומרים/נושא. השושנים הגדולות נגזרו מתוך דף שהכנתי בעצמי עם מפית. הרבה יישון, קצת תפירה, תחרות וכפתורים.

Happy Purim - two cards for Tuesday Trio פורים שמח - שני כרטיסים לשלוש בשלישי

This is my 3rd post today (yes, I've been very crafty this weekend.. LOL). For English, please scroll down. thank you!

 שבת חורפית, גשומה, קרה וערפילית הייתה בהחלט יצירתית. חג פורים מתקרב, ואיתו משלוחי המנות שצריכים הילדים להביא לביה"ס. זה היה התמריץ להכין שני כרטיסי ברכה שילוו את משלוחי המנות. בשניהם השתמשתי בסקיצות של 'שלוש בשלישי ובשאריות מקופסת השאריות שלי.
הכרטיס הראשון - סקיצה מס' 107, כל הניירות המדוגמים הם שאריות מהקיט 'זרעי קיץ' של צרויה אילן:

האתגר הנלווה היה 'בלינג', ולשם כך הוספתי את האבנים הכחולות המנצנצות. אני מקווה שאם זה יהיה ילד שיקבל את הכרטיס, הוא לא ירתע בגלל הניצנוץ הזה, כי בכל זאת הצבעים לא מאד 'של בנות'...
הנה תקריב:

הכרטיס השני הוכן לסקיצה מס' 108, והוא שילוב שאריות מחברות שונות - Basic Grey, DCWV, October Afternoon, LilyBee Design. האתגר הנלווה היה שימוש בלפחות 5 צבעים - התאים מאד לאווירה עליזה של פורים, ויצא לי כרטיס צבעוני למדי:

Cards for some challenges

Trying to use more of my scraps is one of my main scrappy resolutions for 2012, and making these cards is a great way to do it.

עוד קצת מ'מתקפת הכרטיסים' ששורה עלי לאחרונה. המוזר הוא שאני לא רואה שהמפלס בקופסת השאריות יורד... אבל אין ספק שמלאי הכרטיסים שלי בהחלט עולה. בקצב הזה אצטרך להכין קופסא כדי לאכסן את כל הכרטיסים הללו.

Wonderful You! - lo

This photo, of my beloved kids, is on of my fav photos. For a very long time this photo was on my desk at work, lightening my day and reminding me what is really importand in life. I wanted to make a lo with this photo a while back, and with the great sketch from Creative Scrappers and the beautiful Crate Paper I got as a prize from Leeanne from Artful Delight - I whipped up this lo last night. I love the spring look of it, now in the middle of the cold winter.

For the matting, I made a faux envelope - I misted a white cs with blue glimmer mist, inked the edges with distress ink and stamped over with several stamps. I love the way it came out and I will sure use this technique in the future.

I did a lot of fussy cutting with the flowers - from one of the Crate Paper. The butterflies were punched from MME scraps I had from previous projects. I decorated the flowers and the butterflies with rhinestones.

התמונה הזאת, של שני בני האהובים, היא אחת מהתמונות האהובות עלי ביותר. זמן רב היא הייתה על השולחן שלי בעבודה, משמחת את ליבי ומזכירה לי מה באמת חשוב בחיים. כבר זמן מה שרציתי לעצב לה דף, ועכשיו עם הסקיצה הנפלאה הזאת והדפים המקסימים של CRATE PAPER בהם זכיתי לאחרונה, הכנתי את הדף הזה.

כמאטינג לתמונה הכנתי מעטפה מזוייפת - התזתי גלימר מיסט כחול על קארדסטוק לבן, 'לכלכתי' עם דיו דיסטרס את הקצוות והחתמתי עם חותמות שונות. הפרחים כולם נחתכו בעבודת נמלים מתוך אחד הדפים היפים שקיבלתי. הפרפרים פונצ'צ'ו משאריות של דפים מדוגמים של MME שנותרו  מפרוייקטים בעבר. קישטתי עם כמה אבני חן.

יצא לי דף עתיר שכבות כמו שאני אוהבת,  באווירה מאד אביבית, שמח ומאיר בדיוק כמו התמונה עצמה.
