Your Gentle Touch-March 15th reveal at Sketchabilities

Here's my lo for March 15th reveal at Sketchabilities, with this fab sketch by Karan:

Again, it's a mixed media style layout. For the background I worked with pp stripes, gesso, mists, stamps, sprinkles, masking with modeling paste and doodling.

I crumpled the dp, to give more depth to the page, and then inked the edges.

The photos are of my eldest, almost 2 years ago, gently touching and feeding the kangaroo at the Australian Zoo.
I would like to enter it to the contest at Paper Issues, for the Zoo theme.

דף חדש, כחלק מצוות העיצוב ב-Sketchabilities, שהתחיל למעשה בטעות... כשהכנתי את הרקע, התכוונתי להשתמש בו לדף אחר לגמרי. התוצאה שהחלה להיווצר מסגנון המיקסד מדיה, לא מצאה חן בעיני בשביל הפרוייקט שאותו רציתי לעשות, אז שמתי את הקארדסטוק עם השכבות שלו בצד. לא הייתי בטוחה אם אשתמש בו בכלל או שימצא דרכו לפח. והנה, כשבאתי להכין את המשימה הזאת, הוא התאים לי מאד, ואף הוספתי עליו עוד כמה שכבות של מדיומים שונים. את התוצאה הסופית הפעם אהבתי :).

יש פה שכבות של ג'סו, רצועות נייר, עוד ג'סו, החתמות, מיסטים, מסיכה עם משחת עיצוב, טפטופי דיו ודודלינג.

התמונות הן של הבכור, מלטף ומאכיל את הקנגרו בגן גורו, לפני כשנתיים.

case file #94 at CSI

This another lo I've made for case file #94 at CSI, but with a totally different approach - more artsy and funky than my other take on this case file. I think it's great to see two different takes on the same color palette.

My clues to solve the case were:

Evidence - stack something (did I say anything about layers and layers? LOL), woodgrain, something crinckled (some of the dp).

Testimony - record a funny story. The photo are of my youngest, the drama king of our home. On a Tae Kwon Do test there were yellow cones, and they reminded my boy of a chinese hat. I had to take those photos... LOL My journaling says: "In the middle of the Tae Kwon Do stage test, the yellow cones reminded you of a chinese hat. Right away you put the cone on your head, and immediately your fingesr pulled your eys to look like chinese eyes. And there you were 'chinese babaingi' (it's a nickname he got once his eyes got swollen cause of a mosquito bite).

דף נוסף שהכנתי לאתגר ב-CSI, עם אותה פלטת צבעים, אבל בסגנון אחר לגמרי מהדף הקודם. התמונות הן של צעיר הבנים, מלך הדרמה בביתנו. במבחן דרגה בטאיקוונדו פוזרו קונוסים צהובים לצורך התרגילים, והם הזכירו לו כובע סיני. מייד הוא חבש אחד מהקונוסים על ראשו, ועם אצבעותיו משך את העיניים שיהיו מלוכסנות, והנה הוא סיני. אי אפשר היה לעמוד בקסמו השובבי :-).

The Greatest Gift

This is my take on case file #52 at CSI:

The 'clues' I've used to solve this case were:

Evidence: twine, kraft paper, tags, circles, burlap and eyelets.

Testimony: my journaling is about my boys, being the greatest gift of all. I wrote it on a tag, and tied it to the envelope with a baker's twine, and it's in handwriting.

I used sketch #237 from Creative Scrappers:

I used 3 different CheeryLynn dies - doily, lace border and mini flourish.

I also used a mask with texture modeling paste, and stamped a flourish stamp on the envelope.

דף שהכנתי לאתגר משולב של צבעים, אלמנטים וג'ורנלינג. השתמשתי בסקיצה מ-CS. הביג שוט חזר לעבוד, ועבד הרבה :)) - הדוילי, בורדר תחרה, המסגרת לתמונה והענפים. השתמשתי במסיכה של סלסול עם משחת עיצוב חולית. את המוטיב של הסלסולים המשכתי גם עם החתמה על המעטפה.

הנחת הדפים בהטייה יוצרת עניין בדף, וכיוון האלכסונים מושך את העין לצד הימני של הדף, וממקד את תשומת הלב בתמונה.

אני שמחה שקפצתן לבקר בבלוג שלי וכמובן שאשמח לקרוא את התגובות.

Independence Day 2011 - a lo

Last year, on Independence Day, we visited the Armored Corps Museum  at Latrun. My eldest climbed on the different armored tanks. I must say I had mixed feelings seeing him in all those military poses.

This lo was made with my June Counterfeit Kit, mostly Echo Park This&That Charming collection. I used #214 sketch from Creative Scrappers:

דף נוסף עם קיט החיקוי של חודש יוני. הפעם עם תמונות של הבכור, ביום העצמאות לפני קצת למעלה משנה, בביקור שערכנו במוזיאון 'יד לשריון' בלטרון. אני מודה שהפוזות המיליטריסטיות התקבלו אצלי ברגשות מעורבים. כנראה שככה זה עם בנים....

Me & Barney - a lo

When I first saw case file no. 21 at CSI, I thought I'd skip this one; too girly colors, I thought, too much for my boyish photos and layouts. But then I decided to take the challenge. I found this photo of my eldest, when he was almost 3 years old, with his fav Barney doll (at that period, only 2nd  loved, after Winnie the Pooh), and it's a bingo!

Here's the case file:

The clues I used to solve the case were:

Evidence - a doily, a riboon, flowers, lacy border (stampped around the page and one under the photo), layers, "icing" (glitter silver flourishes and glitter powder on the flowers).
Testimony - my journaling is about how my boy loved Barney and I used two different sizes - one for the main jouranling and one for the date, as a flower center. I also tied a ribbon onto the journaling spot.

דף שהכנתי לאתגר משולב של צבעים/חומרים/השראה. בתחילה חשבתי שאדלג על האתגר הזה, בגלל שילוב הצבעים והחומרים - מאד נשי באופיו, וזה לא הסתדר לי עם התמונות של הבנים שלי. ואז החלטתי בכל זאת לאתגר את עצמי ומצאתי את התמונה הזאת, של הבכור עם בובת בארני כשהיה כמעט בן 3. באותה תקופה בארני היה הבובה השניה האהובה, אחרי בובת פו הדב (עשיתי דף על אהבתו לפו הדב, וגם הדף שהעליתי היום קודם לכן, על יום ההולדת שלו, מתעד את האהבה הזאת, עד כדי שהכנתי לו עוגת 'פו הדב'...).

My youngest loves to pose, especially if there's a camera around... This photo was taken on last Feb, on a tour we had at Pura Reservation, a place full of hot red anemones on the late winter.

צעיר הבנים אוהב מאד לעשות פוזות, במיוחד אם יש מצלמה באזור... התמונה הזאת צולמה בפברואר האחרון, בטיול שלנו בשמורת פורה.

השתמשתי במסיכות של טים הולץ, עם דיו דיסטרס ירוק גם כן של טים הולץ. השתמשתי בדי הרבה חותמות בדף הזה (הרבה יותר ממה שאני בד"כ משתמשת), ובפאנץ' של עלים. הכותרת מאותיות "תוצרת הארץ" של מסטיקים ורחלי גזית.

I've already made 2 lo about summer afternoon at the beach, one of each of my kids, and now it's my turn... :) Like I've wrote in previous posts, it was a very stressful day for me and I was very depressed, but being by the seaside, with my kiddos, turned it into a fab afternoon. I had to remind myself that "what it all comes down to is that everything's gonna be fine, fine, fine"... Hand in my pocket by Alanis Morisette, the inspiration for this week over Scrapping the music (love, love, love that song!).

The journaling says, in hebrew: "reminding myself that everything, but everything, is gonna be fine. The finest there is. We're healthy and happy. All worries, all problems, all will find it's solution. Everything's gonna be just fine".

The journaling spot and the matting of it were embossed and then inked with distress ink, and so were the cream butterflies.

דף נוסף על אחה"צ קסום בחוף הים, הפעם עם תמונה שלי. תזכורת לכך שבסופו של דבר, הכל מסתדר על הצד הטוב....

Playing with Frosted Dollies

I loved the sketch over Design Dollies the minute I set my eyes on it, and I knew I would love to play with it. I liked the  minimized ingredients.

As for the color combo at Frosted Designs, well, this is something totally different... I'm afraid I can not say that I fell in love with this one, rather on the contrary... LOL

But that is what I like about challenges. It makes me come out of my comfort zone.

The dp, as well as the scalloped circle and the corner on the upper right corner are all BG  -(BTW, that corner is a perfect use of scraps - it's a left over from a die-cuts page. Usually I would throw that left overs away, but I kept them and here I found a proper use for one of them). I embossed them with gentle wave pattern.

The boat on the lower left corner is a masking with glimmer mist, using a chipboard I won over Paper Niche. Cool efect, isn't it?

התמונה בדף הזה צולמה בחוף הים בחול המועד פסח 2006. הצבעים שבאתגר של frosted designs התאימו לי מאד לתמונה הזאת. השתמשתי בדפים של BG וחיתוכים שלהם, וגם בשאריות של דף חיתוכים לפינה הימנית העליונה (את ההשראה לשימוש ממחזר בדפים של צ'יפבורדים/חיתוכים קיבלתי מפיית המרציפן, והאמת שגם השימוש בדבק נצנצים על הפאנצ' בורדר המסולסל :)).

כל פעם אני 'נדבקת' לאיזה גימיק עיצובי אחר, ולפרק זמן מסויים כל הזמן משתמשת בו. הייתה תקופה שתפירה הייתה להיט אצלי, וכל דף היה עם תפירה. לאחרונה זה פרחי הקרושה (ודווקא כבר שני פוסטים שלא השתמשתי באף פרח קרושה...), וגם סרטי הדגלונים. שמתי לב שזה כבר הדף המעוצב השלישי בתקופה האחרונה שהשתמשתי בסרט דגלונים לכותרת. כל כך פשוט להכין אותם וזה באמת מוסיף. אז כנראה שיהיו עוד ועוד דגלונים אצלי, לפחות עד שמשהו חדש ידליק אותי ויחליף את ההתמכרות אליהם.

את ההבלטה הקרה עשיתי עם לוחות של Fiskars שקניתי בביג דיל ב...... 20 ש"ח (טוב, יותר נכון: 19.90 ש"ח). יש 6 לוחות דו-צדדיים, כך שיש 12 דוגמאות הבלטה. העבודה איתם מאד מאד קלה ונוחה. ראיתי שם גם פאנצ' בורדרים של החברה הזאת במחיר מצחיק של 14.99 ש"ח. פאנצ'ים שנמכרים בסביבות 85 ש"ח ומעלה. גיליתי איפוק מדהים ולא קניתי אף אחד מהם.

מצא חן בעיני האפקט של המיסגור של כל העיצוב ע"י הכיתוב בכתב יד. מצחיק אותי לראות איך הבכור שלי מסובב את עצמו כדי לקרוא את הכיתובים הללו. הוא גם מאד שמח שאני משתמשת בתמונה הזאת, למרות שאחיו הוא שמצולם בה. הוא חושב שהקטן חמוד מאד בתמונה הזאת. האמת היא שהוא מאד צודק :).

זו תמונה שלי ביום ההולדת הרביעי שלי בגן.

השתמשתי במפיות תחרה (למסיכה ולמאטינג של התמונה), אותיות מלבד, פרחי פרימה, פרחי קרושה, פרחים מסרט משי, סרטים, תחרה, כפתורים, פנינים וסיכות מתפצלות.

ההחתמות האדומות נעשו עם צבע אקרילי בעזרת תחתית של בקבוק קטן ופקק שעם של בקבוק יין.

You've got spirit-lo נשמה

This is one of my eldest son's best photos (I know, I've masked his face, so you'll just have to take my word for it...LOL). It was taken on one of our vacations in a beautiful place in north Israel. The title on the lo says: spirit/soul and the journaling says: "since you were born, you've had a lot of spirit. ever since that's the way granny calls you". He is a very sensetive empathic kid, and he has always been such.

The title was made by mask with glimmer mist. The mask was made out of used cereal box. For the photo's matting I used corrugate paper. 

The circle above was done the same way. I hand stitched the line of the circle and to the tag I tied beads in matching color.

I also stitched the lines for the journaling, which was written with sakura metalic jel pen.

The flower was made out of a piece of fabric that was about to be thrown away, and I added a button with a floss on the top.

supllies: cs is DCWV, corrugate paper from a pacage I got awhile ago, chipboards are We R Memory Keepers, glimmer mist, sakura jel pen; the riboons, button, brads and fabric - all from my stash.

בעיני זו אחת מהתמונות היפות ביותר של הבן הבכור שלי (כן, אני יודעת, קשה לדעת עם "המסכה" הזאת שהעליתי על פניו, אז תצטרכו להסתפק בחוות הדעת המשוחדת שלי :)). התמונה צולמה באחת מחופשותינו, באגם חי ביראון. בתמונה, הבעת הפנים שלו משקפת מאד את אחד הדברים שמאד מייחדים אותו - הוא פשוט ילד עם נשמה יתירה. מאד רגיש לזולת ומאד אמפתי. הוא היה כזה מאז שהיה תינוק וזה רק הולך ומעצים עם השנים (בן פורת יוסף שלי.... ואל תצחקו עלי. מאז שנולדו הילדים התחלתי גם להאמין, קצת, באמונות כאלו ואחרות, תפלות או לא. נו, להזיק זה לא יזיק :)). מאז שהוא היה תינוק סבתא שלו מכנה אותו "נשמה". ובצדק. אז זאת הכותרת שבחרתי לדף הזה. וכך במקרה, גם היה צ'יפבורד עם כיתוב מתאים, אז זה השתלב יפה.

ולעשייה:

לכלכתי את קצוות הקארדסטוק בדיו. הכותרת והעיגול למעלה - מסיכות שהכנתי מקרטון קורנפלקס ועליהן ריססתי עם גלימר מיסט. את קו הקונטור של העיגול תפרתי, וכך גם את השורות לג'ורנלינג (ושוב תודה לפיית המרציפן על הרעיון המדהים הזה!). המאטינג לתמונה הוא של קרטון גלי מאיזו אריזה שקיבלתי. לצ'יפבורד למעלה קשרתי 2 חרוזים. סרטים, בראדים, ופרח בד עם כפתור וחוט.

הדף נעשה על פי סקיצה מהאתר של sketchy thursdays. הסקיצה מאד פשוטה (אני קצת סובבתי על הצד את התמונה והקישוטים), ובעיני היא מאד מוצלחת כי היא ממש מציבה את התמונה במרכז תשומת הלב.
