Frozen in the summer

The 1st challenge for April at About A Boy is 'Chevrons'. yes, this trendy pattern. easy peasy, right?

I've made my layout from scraps, most of them from my March Counterfeit Kit, and others. For the chevrons theme I used Studio Calico chevron mask and then I embossed it with white Imagine embossing powder. I also used pp with chevrons pattern. 

The photo is of my eldest, about 7 years ago. It was a very hot summer day, and he just got out of the pool, and he was freezing!!

I also used Cheery Lynn Franch Pastry die, some Cosmo Cricket's stickers and a Purple Pumpkin's flair button.

האתגר הראשון לחודש אפריל בבלוג של About A Boy, הוא זיגזגים (chevrons). הדגם הכל כך טרנדי הזה שולט בעולם הסקראפ (ולמען האמת בעולם העיצוב בכלל).
התמונה היא של הבכור, לפני כשבע שנים, בעיצומה של מלחמת לבנון השניה. בילינו בבריכה, בעוד בריכה שארחה כל כך יפה את תושבי הצפון. היה יום קיץ חם מאד, וכאשר הילדון יצא מהבריכה הוא פשוט היא קפוא, למרות מזג האוויר החם. הוא הפשיר חיש מהר וחזר לשחק בהנאה מרובה במים.

הדף שלי הוכן כולו משאריות, ברובן מקיט החיקוי של חודש מרץ. השתמשתי במסיכת זיגזגים של סטודיו קליקו, עם דיו אמבוסינג ואח"כ הבלטה חמה עם אבקת אמבוסינג לבנה. זיגזגים נוספים באו מדף מדוגם עם דוגמה עדינה של זיגזגים. הוספתי כמה סטיקרים, קשית נייר שהכנתי בעצמי,  וחיתוך של דוילי עם הביג שוט. כפתור עם נושא מתאים (flair button) ואותיות של 'תוצרת הארץ', והדף מוכן.

יצא דף מונוכרומטי מרובה שכבות. ולמי ששואלת איך להכין דף מרובה שכבות, כל מה שאוכל לומר הוא שהאתגר הגדול שלי הוא להכין דף עם מעט שכבות... אני כמעט לא מסוגלת שלא להוסיף עוד ועוד שכבות, אחרת זה נראה לי 'ריק'.
ורגע אחד לפני שאתן הולכות מכאן, אני רוצה לספר לכן על בלוג קנדי משגע של סווטה, לכבוד יום הולדתה המתקרב. סווטה היא יוצרת כשרונית, שלא נרתעת מלנסות דברים חדשים, מלאה ביצירתיות ומכינה המון קישוטים בעצמה (וכידוע, זה עניין קרוב מאד לליבי :)))...). 
אז תקפצו לראות את הבלוג קנדי שלה כאן, ובאותה הזדמנות תשוטטו אצלה בבלוג. ההנאה מובטחת.

Family - The Sweetest Thing

March 2nd challenge at About A Boy is Scraps - use only scraps for your boyish layout. Everything in my lo is from my March counterfeit kit, and all the dp are scraps. I didn't cut any new dp for this lo, and some of the embellishments are made from scraps too (the paper straw - here's a tutorial I've made; the sub title, the small banners).
I used March sketch from Purple Pumpkin (and also used some of their buttons):

I used Mr Huey's mist and white gel pen for the faux stitching. I also used a homemade paper envelope (and here the tutorial how I've made them).

האתגר השני לחודש מרץ בבלוג של About A Boy הוא להשתמש בשאריות בלבד. כל החומרים בדף הזה הם מקיט החיקוי של חודש מרץ, ולמעשה אף נייר מדוגם בו השתמשתי כאן לא נחתך במיוחד לדף הזה, כולם שאריות מפרוייקטים קודמים. גם 'קש' הנייר עשוי משארית (לפי ההדרכה שכאן), ואפילו כותרת המשנה היא בעצם הפס שיש בתחתית כל דף מדוגם (במקרה הזה של MME). ממש דף חסכוני. השתמשתי גם בשקיות הנייר המדוגמות (הדרכה להכנתן), בכפתורי בד מנוקדים ומדליקים. השפרצתי קצת Mr Huey's, והוספתי תיפורים בעט לבן. שלושת הינשופים, בשלושה גדלים שונים, התאימו לי מאד לתמונה :)).

Our 1st challenge for March at About A Boy challenge blog is Hoarders challenge - use supplies that you have had in your stash for at least a year. Too often I have dp that I love so much that I can hardly touch, not to mention cut... LOL.
With that said, I took a deep breath and looked for some dp and embellishments I've had from last year. To make it easier on me, I simply included them in my March Counterfeit Kit .

For this lo I used Fancy Pants dp (Summer's End & Childish Things collections), Crate Paper dp and  and  some stickers (I even don't know who the manufacturer). I also used some gliiter foam and felt I've had for ages to cut some stars.
I couldn't stick totally to the challenge, and I used quite new Thickers and my newest mask (cheveron - Studio Calico).
I worked with #247 sketch from Creative Scrappers (sadly they're closing down):

The photo is of my sons, 5 years ago, playing at the amuzment park. They've had such fun that day :).

האתגר הראשון לחודש מרץ בבלוג About A Boy הוא להשתמש במוצרים ש'שוכבים' אצלנו כבר לפחות שנה. יש כאלו שבקלות רבה משתמשות/חותכות/קורעות ניירות מדוגמים יפים. בלי שום נקיפות מצפון, בלי עכבות. בשיא הפשטות. אצלי זה אחרת. יש לי ניירות מדוגמים שכל כך מצאו חן בעיני, שאני פשוט מתקשה מאד לגעת בהם, וכך הם שוכבים להם בפולדרים שלהם, משוויצים ביופיים בכל פעם שאני סוקרת את הדפים שלי, אך נשארים בבדידותם הזוהרת, רחוקים מנגיעה.

אז לכבוד האתגר הזה, לקחתי נשימה עמוקה, והחלטתי לכלול כמה מהם בקיט החיקוי של חודש מרץ, ולהשתמש בהם לאתגר הזה. שתי ציפורים במכה אחת :))).

השתמשתי בסקיצה פשוטה מאד, אבל מוצלחת ביותר, וכדי להוסיף עניין בעיצוב הדף, עבדתי עם מסיכה של זיגזג ודיו דיסטרס כרקע, והרביתי בשכבות של ניירות מדוגמים שעברו דיסטרוס עם מכשיר ההשחתה של אינגבילד. הכוכב הגדול הורכב מחיתוכי סול ולבד, חלקם נחתכו בביג שוט וחלקם פונצ'צ'ו.
התמונה היא של הילדודס, לפני 5 שנים, ביום כיף שעשינו בבא-לגן בקיבוץ יגור.

אז מה דעתכן לצלול לתוך 'תיבת האוצרות הסקראפיים' שלכן, ולדוג משם מוצרים ששמרתן מכל משמר, ופשוט להשתמש בהם? ועוד יותר טוב - תכינו קיט חיקוי (קטן, גדול, לדף אחד, לכמה דפים, לכרטיסים - מה שבא לכן) ותראו כמה נוח וכיף לעבוד עם קיט מוכן מראש. שלא לדבר על ההקלה מתחושות האשם על כל החומרים הללו ששוכבים כאבן שאין לה הופכין. עכשיו תוכלו בלב שלם לחגוג בקניות חדשות :)))...

Our 2nd challenge for February at About A Boy challenge blog is 'Oh, Baby'. You should make a lo, featuring a baby's photo, age 0-1y, but remember is should be a BOY's photo...

The photo in my lo is of my youngest, when he was about 8 weeks old.

For this lo I used my Feb Counterfeit Kit, and I mixed papers from the main kit and the add-on kit.

I used the Feb sketch from C'est Magnifique:

I didn't have a chipboard frame, so I replaced it with a gauze frame. Since I cut my boy's image apart from the photo, I matted it with handmade flowers, and added die-cut doily and  flourishes (Cheery Lynn fanciful flourish and France Pastry- for their 'frame it' challenge).

It also goes for the shabby chic challenge at happy campers; at anything goes.

האתגר השני בבלוג של About A Boy הוא להכין דף עם תמונה של תינוק (בגילאי 0-1 שנה). אתגר קליל ביותר, ויש גם פרס שווה.

בדף הזה השתמשתי בחומרים מקיט החיקוי של פברואר, ושילבתי בין דפים מהקיט העיקרי לקיט התוספת. הפרחים המשמשים מאטינג לתמונה (שנחתכה) עשויים ביד והוספתי סלסולי עלים שנחתכו בביג שוט. כמסגרת השתמשתי בגאזה, והוספתי גם דוילי (גם כן נחתכה בביג שוט) ותגית.

This is my first lo made as About A Boy DT. Our 1st challenge is an easy one - just introduce your man to us. The only cretria is that you boy's name should appear on the lo.
There's an awesome prize this month:

The title of the lo says, in Hebrew: "I.D. Card". I took two cute photos of my boys, and behind each photo I tacked a journaling tag, stating the boy's name, date and place of birth, weight, etc.
All products are from my Feb Counterfeit Kit.

זהו הדף הראשון שלי כחברה בצוות העיצוב של About A Boy, בלוג אתגרים חדש, שכולו מוקדש לדפי אלבום עבור הגברים שבחיינו.

האתגר הראשון הוא קליל ביותר - להציג את הגברים שלנו. הדרישה היחידה היא שבדף יופיע השם של הילד. הכנתי דף שהוא 'תעודת זהות'. לקחתי שתי תמונות חמודות של הילדודס ומאחוריהן הכנסתי תגיות נסתרות עם כיתוב לכל אחד מהילדודס - שם, תאריך ומקום לידה, משקל הלידה וכיוצ"ב.

אמרתי שהאתגר קליל....

החומרים בדף הזה לקוחים כולם מקיט החיקוי של חודש פברואר. המסגרות, התגיות, הדוילי'ס והשלט, פרח הג'ינס וסלסולי העלים - כולם נחתכו בעזרת הביג שוט. עוד קישוטים שבהם השתמשתי הם חיתוכי העץ של החיצים ו-flair button.
