The Greatest Gift

This is my take on case file #52 at CSI:

The 'clues' I've used to solve this case were:

Evidence: twine, kraft paper, tags, circles, burlap and eyelets.

Testimony: my journaling is about my boys, being the greatest gift of all. I wrote it on a tag, and tied it to the envelope with a baker's twine, and it's in handwriting.

I used sketch #237 from Creative Scrappers:

I used 3 different CheeryLynn dies - doily, lace border and mini flourish.

I also used a mask with texture modeling paste, and stamped a flourish stamp on the envelope.

דף שהכנתי לאתגר משולב של צבעים, אלמנטים וג'ורנלינג. השתמשתי בסקיצה מ-CS. הביג שוט חזר לעבוד, ועבד הרבה :)) - הדוילי, בורדר תחרה, המסגרת לתמונה והענפים. השתמשתי במסיכה של סלסול עם משחת עיצוב חולית. את המוטיב של הסלסולים המשכתי גם עם החתמה על המעטפה.

הנחת הדפים בהטייה יוצרת עניין בדף, וכיוון האלכסונים מושך את העין לצד הימני של הדף, וממקד את תשומת הלב בתמונה.

אני שמחה שקפצתן לבקר בבלוג שלי וכמובן שאשמח לקרוא את התגובות.

Siblings (a whole story)

The 1st challenge for September at Counterfiet Kit Challenge blog is to choose an item from our stash that we no longer use/love, and to use it on our layouts.

Well, my unloved/used item is definitely eylets. Long time ago, I bought a lot of them, but I rarely use them. To tell the truth - I don't really like them... LOL

I used several of my eyelets on my layout and I tried to be creative about this use. I used 4 of them on the corner of the cs and strung a baker's twine between them to create a frame. I put 2 small star eyelets on the photo and strung a baker's twine, reflecting the way my boys are tied in a big hug. Some more star eyelets were put in the middle of the star cuts. Eventually, I used 9 eyelets on my layout, and that's splendid for an unwanted item, isn't?

While I was working on the lo, I found a lost item - a diamonds stencil - and used it too. 

Since I cut the photo into a square, I used the leftovers - punched with a border punch under and undert the torn cs.

Almost all materials are from my September Counterfeit Kit. I usded some scraps from last month's Counterfeit Kit to cover the semi-circles chipboards and for the stars. Another item I added are the shells sequins, I just love them! (and that makes sequins less unwanted item on my stash...LOL).

האתגר הראשון בבלוג של קיט החיקוי הוא למצוא משהו מהחומרים שלנו שאנחנו כבר לא כל כך משתמשות בו או לא כל כך אוהבות אותו, ולהשתמש בו בעבודות שלנו. לא הייתה לי שום התלבטות - ניטים! בזמנו קניתי מהם לא מעט, ובקושי אני משתמשת בהם. לא יודעת למה, אבל אני לא ממש אוהבת אותם.

השתמשתי בכמה וכמה מהניטים בדף הזה, והשתדלתי להיות קצת יצירתית (היה קשה, אני באמת לא אוהבת אותם). שמתי 4 ניטים גדולים בפינות, ומתחתי ביניהם חוט אופים ליצירת מסגרת. על התמונה עצמה חוררתי שני ניטים קטנים בצורת כוכב, וגם ביניהם מתחתי חוט אופים, כהשתקפות של האופן בו הילדים קשורים זה בזה בחיבוק. גם הוספתי כמה ניטים קטנים של כוכבים במרכז חיתוכי הכוכבים, כתוספת קישוטית. בסה"כ השתמשתי ב-9 ניטים בדף אחד, וזה נפלא לפריט לא ממש אהוב.

תוך כדי עבודה על הדף הזה, נתקלתי גם בפריט נשכח נוסף - סטנסיל של מעויינים, וגם בו השתמשתי כמסיכה, מעל התזות של גלימר מיסט.

מרבית החומרים בדף הזה הם מקיט החיקוי של חודש ספטמבר. השתמשתי גם בכמה שאריות מהקיט של חודש שעבר (ציפוי של חצאי העיגולים של הצ'יפבורדים, ובשביל חיתוכי הכוכבים). הפריט הנוסף שהוספתי, שאיננו בקיט החיקוי, הוא הפאייטים בצורת קונכיות. אני ממש אוהבת אותם (מה שהופך את הפאייטים אצלי לפריט פחות בלתי אהוב...).

מאחר שאת התמונה חתכתי לגודל של ריבוע, נותרה לי רצועה של תמונה, שהייתה עם השמיים. השתמשתי בה מתחת לחלק הקרוע של הקארדסטוק ובנוסף פינצ'צ'תי חתיכה נוספת ממנה והוספתי מתחת לאחד הניירות המדוגמים. אני בעד מיקסום של מה שיש...

אני אוהבת את הדף, עם הצבעים המרוככים שלו, שמתכתבים היטב עם צבעי התמונה. מה דעתכן?

Sandcastle

As a child, I loved building sandcastle at the beach. I could spend hours sittin on the sand, building a big castle, with towers and bridges. there's something very calming and relaxing to let the sand drops fall within your fingers and to see the beautiful structure that comes out.

My boys love doing it too, and sometimes the three of us sit by the seaside and build those sandcastles.

This lo is with a photo of my eldest, sitting by the sea and building a sandcastle. the photo was taken about 4 months ago. 
In this photo, I really love the look of the white foam of the sea waves, against the color of the sand.

I used products from my August Counterfeit Kit: Bazzill kraft cs; American Crafts white cs;  My Mind's Eye dp (Indie chic "Nutmeg"); DCWV dp (The Guy Stak); Webster's Pages Little StoryTellers; Lilybeedesign ABC stickers (Double Dutch collection); Tattered Angels glimmer mist; fan flower that I've made from a leftover piece of dp;  brads, buttons, twine, paperclips, star sequins (from my stash); I used some nautical stamps (Clear Dollar) and added some yellow Flower Soft

The inspiration for the colors came from a challenge at a new Israeli challenge blog called "Going out of the lines", which had this beautiful color palette:

דף קיצי נוסף שהכנתי מקיט החיקוי של חודש אוגוסט, הפעם עם סקיצה נפלאה של Boys Rule, עם פלטת צבעים יפהפיה באתגר השני של "יוצאות מהקווים". הנה תמונת ההשראה:

התמונות בהן השתמשתי הן של בכורי, בונה ארמון חול. כילדה אהבתי מאד לשבת ולתת לטיפות החול לנטוף למטה ולבנות ארמונות גדולים, עם מגדלים וגשרים. גם הילדים שלי אוהבים לעשות זאת, ולעיתים אנחנו יושבים שלושתנו על שפת המים ובונים ארמונות ביחד.
אני מאד אוהבת בתמונה הזאת את הקונטרסט של הצבעים בין קצף הגלים הלבן לגווני הקרם/חום של חול הים. זה יפה במציאות וגם מצטלם יפה :).

הפרשנות שלי לסקיצה נולדה בעצם מטעות. טעות בחיתוך של דף, כך שנוצרה לי רצועה שלא התכוונתי אליה בפרוייקט עליו עבדתי. כשראיתי את הסקיצה, שמשתמשת ברצועות, היה לי ברור שהטעות משמשת בסיס לדף. את רצועת האמצע, שמפרידה בין החלק התחתון לעליון, החלפתי ברקמת איקסים גדולים. 

גם הניטים בצידי הדפים המדוגמים הם תוצאה של טעות. רציתי לחורר את הדפים המדוגמים כדי לרקום את האיקסים, ובתחילה חוררתי עם הקרופ-א-דייל, אלא שאז החור נראה היה לי גדול מידי, והעדפתי לחורר עם מחט. רק שבצד אחד של כל דף מדוגם נותרו החורים, אז חוררתי גם מהצד השני ושמתי ניטים בצבעים מנוגדים שתואמים את פלטת הצבעים.

ריססתי גלימר מיסט בשני צבעים מתחת לתמונות, ו"קיבעתי" את התמונות עם מהדקים צבעוניים. לקישוט הוספתי פרח מניפה שהכנתי מרצועה שנותרה מדף מדוגם של קיט 'זרעי קיץ' של צרויה, כפתורים מהאוסף, פאייטים בצורת כוכבים, וחותמות של אצות ים וקונכיות. עוד תוספת קישוטית היא שימוש (ראשון!!) ב-flower soft, שהוסיף מרקם וכתם צבע שמאזן את הדף. זו הכרות ראשונה שלי עם המוצר הזה, בזכות מתנת החודש שקיבלתי מ'מסטיקים'.

Free Hug Coupon - a card

While I'm already playing with my new Counterfeit Kit, I took a moment to use some of the scraps from my March Counterfiet Kit, and I made this card.

I've made this card for two challenges - #112 sketch at Tuesday Trio, whith the theme of brads/eyelets, and Catered Crop Reibpe Swap which asked for brads.

אז איך עבר עליכן ליל הסדר? אנחנו הסבנו לשולחן המשפחתי והשמחה הייתה גדולה.

אני אמנם כבר עובדת עם קיט החיקוי החדש שלי, אבל בכל זאת החלטתי להשתמש בשאריות מהקיט הקודם, של חודש מרץ, והכנתי את הכרטיס הזה, לשני אתגרים  - האחד הוא שלוש בשלישי, עם סקיצה ואתגר נלווה של בראדים/ניטים (בכרטיס יש משניהם...) ואתגר נוסף שבו זכיתי לאחרונה והוזמנתי להיות מעצבת אורחת, כשהנושא הוא בראדים.

Walk Naive, Walk One - lo לך תמים, לך אחד

I made this lo for the challenge at Once Upon A ...Sketch, which was a sketch plus a journaling criteria - writhe at least 2 sentences from the lyrics of your favorite song. Here's the sketch:

Well, I have so many fav songs.... To explain my take on this challenge, I need to tell a little story, so please bear with me.  I took my youngest's photo when he was 2 years old (isn't he just a cutie?!). My little guy is a ADHD plus SPD, and he is a very challenging boy. One can not deal with him only with conventional parental/educational methods. I need to 'reinvent the wheel' each day from the begining, and find creative ways to help him. His path in the world is not an easy one, but it's definitely HIS OWN PATH.

Now for the song... The song's title is 'A Happy Prophetic Cosmic Song'... LOL Okay, it's very hard to traslate it, and for my lo's title I took one sentence from the song, and in free translation it means - 'walk naive, walk one'. The whole song speaks of having your own way, not interrupted by anything.

For the journaling, I took some other sentences from the song, which say, again in free translation: 

"Like the Milky Way that cross the sky,

You walk straight, not paing any attention to the stars,

That glitter just to blind the eyes.

Something inside yourself will tell you:

Go on with your way"

I feel that this song describe so well my beloved kiddo.

דף עם תמונה של צעיר הבנים, כשהיה בן שנתיים. האתגר היה סקיצה בצירוף ג'ורנלינג של משפטים מתוך שיר אהוב במיוחד. יש הרבה שירים שאני אוהבת במיוחד, ורבים מהם משמשים לי השראה. הפעם בחרתי בשיר של עלי מוהר ויוני רכטר, 'שיר נבואי קוסמי עליז', כי הוא מבטא עבורי משהו מאד מיוחד בקשר לצעיר הבנים.

לצעיר יש גם ADHD וגם SPD (קושי בויסות תחושתי, שפעמים רבות הולך עם ADHD, ולא תמיד יודעים לאבחן בין השניים), והוא ילד מאתגר ביותר. שיטות החינוך וההתמודדות הקונבציונליות לא ממש מצליחות איתו, וצריך להמציא את הגלגל שוב ושוב - מאתגר כבר אמרתי?  :-) 

אני מרגישה שדרכו בחיים לא פשוטה ומורכבת, אבל היא בהחלט דרכו הייחודית. נדמה לי שהתפקיד המרכזי שלי, כאמא שלו, הוא לעזור לו למצוא את דרכו שלו להשתלב, עם מורכבותו. והדגש הוא על "עם מורכבותו", ולא "חרף"....

ההצצה היא לדף חדש שהכנתי, אותו אעלה מחר, כמשימת ה-DT האחרונה שלי, הפעם ב-SKETCHES IN THYME (מורגש שאני חשה תחושת שחרור וחופש?....). הדף הוא בסגנון מאד שונה מהסגנון הרגיל שלי. אשמח אם תקפצו גם מחר לראות (ומותר גם להגיב... זה כיף לקרוא את התגובות שלכן).

Bumper Car

This week at Sketches In Thyme, we have an open challenge, i.e. you can use any sketch you like.

I used the sketch from PageMaps for the Punky Sprouts sketch contest:

The photo is of my youngest at an amusement park, playing with the bumper car. He really loves it! This was the first thing he started with at the amusement park.

On this lo I used: printed cs - DCWV (Old World stuck); dp - October Afternoon (5 & dime paper pad); K&Co (for the title tag); DCWV (The Guy stuck - for the subtitle); chipboards (originally - cloth tags), eyelet and ribbons - from my stash. I used MS border punck (iron fence)

It also goes for the "on the road" challenge at gingersnap.

After making a few CAS layouts, I'm back to the vintage multi-layers style. This style is the best for scrapping photos from Paris, isn't it?

I used sketch #140 from Creative Scrappers:

אחרי כמה דפים בסגנון פשוט ונקי, בדף הזה חזרתי לסגנון הוינטאג' מרובה השכבות והקישוטים. התמונה מטיול בפריז שעשיתי ביולי 2009. אני פשוט אוהבת את העיר הזאת. כל הניירות עברו יישון. השתמשתי בפרחי קרושה שסרגתי, המון כפתורים, תחרה, סרט, סיכות מתפצלות וניטים, פנינים, פרפרי בד וצ'ארם (אמרתי כבר שחזרתי להעמיס על הדף, לא? :)...). האותיות של תוצרת הארץ.
