Handsome boy - a lo

This is my take on July challenge at My Mind's Eye, which was to use blue, red & white on your project. I used the sketch from Paperstories:

I gathered a few of my eldest photos, in no particular order, just fun and lovely photos of him.

I mixed a few MME collections with papers, layered chipboards, brads & buttons. I also used some Mr. Huey's mists and Bigz die-cut for the stars. 

For the title I used MME stamp and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

בבלוג של MME האתגר החודש הוא, איך לא, שימוש בצבעי אדום/לבן/כחול, ברוח יום העצמאות האמריקאי. השתמשתי בחומרים של MME מקולקציות שונות, כמה מהן די ישנות. יש פה אסופה של ניירות, סיכות מתפצלות, כפתורים וצ'יפבורדים.

מקבץ התמונות הוא של הבכור, בלי איזה סדר או כוונה מיוחדים. פשוט אוסף תמונות חמודות שלו.

Two 'thank you' cards

Two 'Thank You' cards I've made from Jillibean Soup scraps I had.

אחת הסיבות בגללן אני מאד אוהבת אתגרים, היא כי הם גורמים לי לצאת מהקופסא, להשתמש בחומרים/שילובי צבעים/טכניקות וכיוצ"ב שלא הייתי משתמשת אלמלא האתגר.

לכן כשראיתי את האתגר החדש ב"יוצאות מהקווים", עם שילוב צבעים שאין מצב שהייתי משתמשת בו, ידעתי שזו הזדמנות מצויינת לצאת מאזור הנוחות שלי.

צבעים של ורוד/אדום/כתום הם ממש לא הצבעים הרגילים בהם אני משתמשת. כאן באה לעזרתי קופסת השאריות (הבלתי נגמרת, יש לומר את האמת), ולא סתם שאריות, אלא של חברה שאני מאד אוהבת - Jillibean Soup. גם פרוייקט השאריות בקומונה 'המפתח ליצירה' שימש תמריץ הולם לשימוש בשאריות.

אבל אין ישן בלי חדש, נכון? אז המדבקה העגולה, בכרטיס השני, היא מקולקציה סתווית של אותה חברה, שפינטזתי עליה זמן רב, והנה התמזל מזלי ו-Mrs. G הואילה ברוב טובה להביאה לחנות Xmix. וכמובן, שאי אפשר בלי הביג שוס החדש, שאף הוא נרכש לאחרונה באותה חנות קטנה ומטריפה. הבסיס בשני הכרטיסים עבר הבלטה של נקודות, ובכרטיס הראשון גם השתמשתי בתבנית חיתוך של רשת לולים/כוורת של חב' Cheery Lynn.

תודה רבה ל'יוצאות', שגרמו לי באמת לצאת מהקווים שלי.

With Friends - lo

It's Thursday again and it means a new sketch challenge at Sketches In Thyme. This week it's an open challenge, where everybody get to choose whatever sketch they wish to work on.

I took November 15th sketch at Stuck?!. Here's the sketch:

I really liked the simplicity of this sketch, so the eye is drawn directly to the photo. The photo is of my kids with my BF's older kids, about 4.5 years ago (see how my youngest is still chubby? :)))...).

I did some handstitching to get all the parts together, and then some faux stitching around the matting and on the edges of the cs. A little doodling and that's it!

The cs is DCWV and all dp are K&Co., the curly die cuts I simply can't remember the manufacturer (maybe WeR Memory Keepers?), lace is from my stash. For the butterflies I used MS punch.

השבוע ב- Sketches In Thyme יש אתגר חופשי - אפשר לבחור כל סקיצה ולהכין על פיה דף. אני בחרתי את הסקיצה הפשוטה הזאת מ- !?Stuck, היא מצאה חן בעיני בגלל הפשטות שלה, שגורמת לכך שהעין נמשכת ישר לתמונה. התמונה היא של הילדים שלי עם הילדים הגדולים יותר של חברתי הטובה, והיא צולמה לפני כ-4.5 שנים (כמה צעיר הבנים שמנמן בתמונה!!!).

תפרתי את התמונה עם המאטינג, התחרה והחיתוכים המסולסלים עם חוט רקמה. מסביב הוספתי גם תיפורים בעט סיגנו לבן. קצת שירבוטים בעט הלבן בין הפרפרים, שפונצ'צ'ו עם פאנצ' של מרתה סטיוארט. הקארדסטוק הוא DCWV והניירות המדוגמים הם .K&CO.

ושוב מככבות האותיות של "תוצרת הארץ". הנה קלוז-אפ עליהן:
