Geological Phenomena - Stuck?! Aug 1st reveal

For Aug 1st, Stuck?! Sketches are partnering with LCOM with their color challenge.
Here's the sketch, drawn by the talented Laura Whitaker:
And this is the color palete from LCOM:
I used photos from our travel to the Ramon visitors center, which is dedicated both to the Ramon Crater and to the Israeli astronaut, the late Illan Ramon
Ramon Crater (Machtesh Ramon) is one of the most beautiful places I know, and the visitor center gives some explanatins on how this geological phenomenon happened. The exhibition on Illan Ramon's life is both very interesting and heartfelt.
Here's my take on the sketch and the color palette:
Thank  you for taking the time and visiting my blog. I appreciate your comments very much.

What is CSI for me - AFSC June 1st reveal plus case #124 at CSI

We have a new challenge for you at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge:  what is you favorite pastime on your computer. For a very long time I was simply  stumped by this challenge, and didn't really know what am I going to make for this one. Once again our team leader at AFSC, Anne, came with gorgeous ideas, and bingo!, I had an idea - my all time fav challenge site - Color, Stories, Inspiration, aka CSI!!
The color palette of case file #124 was also very challenging for me - so girly :), so it was a perfect match - a challenging theme with a challenging color combo.
And so I've made a layout about 'what is CSI for me'. I printed CSI's banner, with a little bokeh effect (not well seen on the photo), and gathered supplies in the palette colors, and this is what I came up with:
This is how I solved the case:
Scheme - all 5 colros are here.
Evidence - butterlies, flowers, glitter, wings, stars, plaid pattern, swirls, tiny brads, bokeh photo effect.
Testimony - I wrote 7 facts (fun? sure fun!) about my topic:
1. Anticipating every Friday eve for the new case file reveal.
2. Meeting new on-line friends.
3. A great combo of colors, elemnts and journaling.
4. Makes me think out side of the box, getting out of my comfort zone.
5. Enriches my creativity.
6. A source of inspiration.
7. A warm and friendly community.
I used StudioFourteen40's flair (brights set 6)
Here are some close-ups on the details:

Now it's your turn to show us what is YOUR fav pastime on your computer.
Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog. I appreciate every comment you care to leave me.

A card for Scrap Africa June 1st sketch reveal

At Scrap Africa, we have a new sketch for you, designed by the talented Denise:
This time I chose to make a card based on this lovely retro style sketch. I also challenged myself not to use any paterned papers, only cs, inks, stamps and mists.
Here's my card:
And here are some close-ups on the details:

u really love this color combo! so delicate and feminine. I will give this card to a very close friend of mine, on her coming birthday.
So how about giving this sketch a try? we'd love to see your take on it, so join us and share it on Scrap Africa's blog.
Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog. Your comments are much appreciated.

Never Say Never

Normally, I don't do purple. don't know exactly why, but I just don't do purple, especially if it's the predominant color, but then 'never say never' :)
When I saw this month's challenge at Black With 2, I was very attracted to the color combo of black/lime/purple, but thought it was too challenging for me. But I'm a great fan of challenges, especially if they make me go out of my comfort zone, so I couldn't just pass over this challenge :).
Here's the challenge at Black With 2:
I started by gathering some papers with the requested colors and found the right photo, and then I was carried away, and pulled  out flowers in different shades of purple, and some ribbons it matching colors (forgotten and unused stash). I also used my newest die from Die-Namites, Floral Corner. Thanks to Sandra from Studio Fourteen40, I played again with my sequins. I think sequins add so much airy feeling. love them.
This is what I came up with:
Edit: my lo was one of the Top 9 featured layout!
AND won GD spot at Black With 2!
Thank you!

One of the reasons I don't work with purple is that I can never get a proper photo of this color. the dark purple turns out blue, the lavender turns out white. The lovely girls at BW2 gave me some tips how to use my camera, and I think it worked out! I told you - never say never :).
You can see the lovely colors on the close-ups:

I would like to enter it also for the 'use black' challenge at The Crafty Scrapper.
Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog. I appreciate every comment you care to leave me.

Show some sparkle! - GD for 2nd challenge at Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge

This is my 2nd project as a GD at Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge blog, and this time the challenge is to show us some sparkle, glizt or glam!
Graphic 45 is our sponsor this month. They are known for their fabulous vintage    products and papers. To pay homage to their glamour and style, create a project         that shows off your hoarded sparkly items. Show some glitz! Pump up the glam!           Use the photo collection below for extra inspiration. You need not match the colors or style of the photos, just use them as inspiration - notice the glass, gems, pearls, metal, glitter! What do you hoard that is "sparkly"? and here's an inspiration photo:

Being a GD at CHAC, made me make projects I usally don't make, and that is awesome! I worked on my tag with several mediums, and for the sparkly part, I used glimmer mists, glitter and bling.
Soon you'll be able to see how I used this tag on another project, and here's a sneak peek on it:

Thank you, Gloria, for giving me such a wonderful opportunity to be a GD on your challenge blog. I enjoyed every minitue of it.

Thank you for visiting my blog, and I appreciate every comment you care to leave me.

So Lucky

Edit: 2nd place winner at Berry71Bleu. thank you!
This is my take on some challenges:
Prima - March PPP, with this beautiful palette:
I used many Prima's products - papers, stamps, flowers and leavs, say it in crystals blings, sugar dots, flair buttons, alphas, chipboard and even packages. Some of the flowers on this lo, were made from Prima's papers with Die-namics dies and mists.
Berry71Bleu March challenge, which asked to have green as the dominant color, the word 'lucky' or 'luck', and some lace/doily. I took the 'green' thing a little further, and recycled Prima's packages.
I would also like to enter it to the 'free for all' challenge at Off the Rails Scrapooking.
I woudl like to enter it to the contest at Paper Issues, for the summer theme.
Here are some close-ups on thd details:

La Défense

CSI joined forces with Archi-Scraps for an inspiring challenge.
Here's the inspiration photo with the case file CC-1:
The minute I saw this case file, with the inspiration photo, I knew right away I will scrap with a photo from La Défense, on my last day at Paris, back on 1997. I took many photos there, but the best for this challenge was with this colorful stripes building, showing through the tree, with the blue sky above.
I used March sketch from Boys Rule, designed by Laura Whitaker:
My clues to solve the case were:
Scheme - all colors are here.
Evidence - stripes, decorative border, trees, architectural accents (the Eiffel Tower stamp), clouds (on the flair button), zig-zag.
Testimony - my jouranling is about the contrast between the architecture of the 'old' Paris, and the one on La Défense. I also used the IW see (sight) and walk: "After walking days in the streets of classic Paris, visiting old buildings with architecture from old centuries, I finally came, on my last day at Paris, to La Défense. The sight of the skyscrapers, with the futuristic architecture was an amazing sight. A perfect ending of a gorgeous tour in this city."
Here are some close-ups on the details:

An invitation for a journey - March 15th reveal at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

This is my 2nd post today.
For my Stuck?! post, please cleck HERE
The new challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge is a sketch challenge, designed by Anne:
My inspiration for this lo came from case file #113 at CSI:
My eldest just turned 12 this week and next year he will be Bar Mitzvah, so I invited him to a special journey throughout this year, and I wrote about it on a tag that is inside the zig-zag envelope.
My clues to solve the case were:
Scheme - all colors are here. naturally, being a 'boyish' page, the pink is very light, just a few touches.
Evidence - butterflies, scallops, envelope, stripes.
Testimony - the jouranling is on a tag inside the envelope, and it says: "On your 12th birthday I gave you an invitation for a journey, a journey to know better yourself, your family roots, your community, your country and the world you are living in. It is a personal and a family journey, to give you higlight important values, a kind of 'toolbox' I'd like you to have all your life. But above all, it's a journey of love.  Each month you'll get a letter , describing the subject ot the month, what fun activities we'll have and the tasks you are going to fullfil. Enjoy the journey. I love you to the moon and back. Mom."
