Snow - lo

We hardly have snow in Israel, and usually the great amount of it is in one place - Hermon Mt. in the north part of Israel. We went there almost 5 years ago, and the photo is of my eldest infront of the huge snowman overthere.

For this lo I was inspired by the color palette #87 The ColorRoom:

And sketch  #185 Creaitive Scrappers:

The cream roses stripe on the bottom is a paper napkin I have for ages and I ironed it on the white AC cs. Since I used BG product (the alphas stickers of the title, from Oh, Baby Boy collection), I'm entering it to the 'lost and found' challenge at BasicGrey. Here's a close-up on the roses strip:

I used Imaginarium chipoard  (circle border), which I painted in silver acrylic paint and then spread some stickles to make it shine. I inserted a pale blue lace inside the border:

The wood look frame was made by me from a white cs, colored with two inks:

The stamps are Unity (the branch) and HeroArt (the birdie). doily, silver flourishes, cream flowers,silver flowers, tag - are all from my stash (most of them from a local craft store).

נכון שעם גל הקור שפקד אותנו מתאים להכין דף על שלג? הילדים שלי מייחלים שיגיע אלינו קצת שלג (אם אפשר - הרבה, כדי שלא יהיה בית ספר ויוכלו להישאר בבית...). לפני כמעט 5 שנים, עת עוד התגוררנו בצפון, נסענו לטיול לחרמון, לראות ולחוש את השלג. בתמונה - הבכור ליד פסל האישלג בפתח האתר.

האתר של The Color Room בהחלט מותח את הגבולות היצירתיים שלי, עם שילובי צבעים שלעיתים אינם שגרתיים עבורי. דווקא בשילוב דומה לזה הנוכחי השתמשתי פעם בעבר, ועדיין זה איננו שילוב שכיח אצלי.

רצועת השושנים הבהירות נעשתה ע"י גיהוץ חלק של מפית ישנה על הקארדסטוק. את הבורדר של העיגולים צבעתי בצבע אקרילי כסוף ומעל פיזרתי סטיקלס למראה נוצץ. המסגרת של התמונה, בצורה של קופסת צללים, הוכנה על ידי, ונצבעה בשני צבעים של דיו, כך שהתקבל מראה של עץ משוייף/מיושן.

המסגרת, וכן חותמת הציפור - בצבע אקרילי. ההחתמה של הענף - דיו דיסטרס.

Sweetie Pie @ 1 - #2 lo with my Counterfeit Kit

This is my #2 layout for Counterfeit Kit challenge, and this time for the tag challenge. Everything on this lo is from my counterfeit kit, except AC stamps, stickles and a few rhinestones.

The photo is of my youngest, when he was 1y old. Isn't he a real sweetie pie? :)

Sweet 16 - a lo for Sketches In Thyme

It's Thursday again and it's Team B's turn at Sketches In Thyme. Here's the fabulous sketch from Sketchabilities we got to work with:

I used a lot of acrylic paing here (there's still time to enter the "Paint" challenge at Frosted Designs!). After I painted with dry brush, I masked some flourishes with homemade mask.

On top I doodled more flourishes  with red stickles. Some punched butterflies (there's still a whole week to enter the "Punch it!" challenge at Simply Create!), fabric butterfly with a gem on top of it, paper flowers, ribbon flowers and a white ribbon with black polka dots.

I used some strip scraps to make those curly strips around the flowers.

דף חדש שהכנתי לאתגר סקיצה ב- Sketches In Thyme. השתמשתי כאן בכמה טכניקות: החתמה עם צבע אקרילי, מריחת צבע עם מברשת יבשה ועל המריחה - מסיכה עם דיו דיסטרס (אגב, המסיכה היא homemade, לפי ההדרכה הנהדרת של אילנית). הבלינג גם הוא עשייה עצמית - שירבוט חופשי עם סטיקלס אדום. לסלסולים האדומים שמסביב לפרחים הורודים השתמשתי ברצועות שנשארו לי מחיתוכי קארדסטוקים בעבר.

ההצצה היא לדף חדש נוסף שהכנתי, הפעם לאתגר סקיצה ב- Frosted Designs, שיעלה ביום שלישי הקרוב, אז יש למה לצפות.. :)

Me & My 'Friend' - a lo for Sketch Along Tuesday @ Frosted Designs

I've made this lo for the new sketch challenge at Frosted Designs. Here's the sketch, creatied by our own talented Diana:

I twisted the sketch cause I wanted to use those trees, and it seems more reasonable to let them grow from earth than from the sky... LOL

All pp are DCWV ('The Guy' stuck, which I just got)  and the matting is Canson. I also used Fiskars border punch and MS

butterfly punch, rhinestones, a chipboard and a baker's twine. The trees are foam die-cuts that I've covered with Diamond Glaze and glitter and some stickles. The photo is of my youngest son, almost 4 years ago, and the title says, in Hebrew: "Me and Yoram" (that's my son's doll name, and that doll is his fav.

דף חדש שהכנתי לאתגר סקיצה בבלוג של Frosted Designs. הסקיצה פשוטה ונקיה, והפכתי אותה כי רציתי להשתמש בעצים, שהם חיתוכי סול, עליהם פיזרתי בנדיבות דיאמונד גלייז ואבקת נצנצנים, ביחד עם קונטור של סטיקלס.

Snow all over my city - lo שלג על עירי

This lo was done for the challenge at Let's get shabby. The challenge is about architecture, and here's the photo inspiration:

The minute I saw that photo, I knew exactly what photos I wish to scrap for this challenge - photos from snowy Jerusalem, 19 years ago (Feb 1992, to be exact...).  The photo inspired me with the combination of an old architecture with all the greens around it, just like the photo on the bottom of my lo.

I love that photo  very much, especially cause of the contrast between the frozen look of the snow, and the warm colors and atmosphere from the building, the foliage all over the wall, and especially - the warm yellow light from the door lamp.

Hence the dp, all in warm brown and cream colors, with a little touch of red. I cut the flowers on the dp to slide the photos underneath. I stamped this "wall bricks" with simple office stickers and distress ink.

I also added some gold and red stickles to the flowers and leaves, and some Prima flowers that I inked a little. Here are some close-ups on the glitter touches, the wall and the flower made out of dryer sheet:

I just love how it turned out.

דף שהכנתי לאתגר של ארכיטקטורה עם תמונה להשראה. כשראיתי את התמונה היה ברור לי מהן התמונות שאני רוצה לעבוד עליהן לאתגר הזה.

התמונות הללו צולמו לפני 19 שנים, בפברואר 1992, בזמן השלג הגדול שהיה בירושלים. להסתכל עליהן כיום זה כמעט לעג לרש... יש לי כמה וכמה תמונות מירושלים המושלגת של אז, אבל התמונה התחתונה היא האהובה עלי ביותר - פינה במשכנות שאננים, עם הצצה לעבר העיר העתיקה. אני מאד אוהבת את התמונה הזאת, בין היתר בגלל הניגודיות שבין המראה הקפוא של השלג הלבן, לבין החמימות שישנה באבנים של הבנין, הצמחיה שעליו ובמיוחד - האור הצהבהב החמים של מנורת הכניסה. לכן הייתה גם הבחירה בדף המדוגם הזה, עם צבעי החום העדינים, הקרם והנגיעות הקלות של האדמדם.

חתכתי את הפרחים בדף כדי להכניס את התמונות מתחת, כך שהפרחים יוצרים מעין מסגרת לתמונות, בנוסף למסגרת החיצונית שבדוגמת הדף. הוספתי נצנצים זהובים ואדמדמים על הפרחים והעלים, וכמה פרחי פרימה ופרח שהוכן מנייר של מייבש כביסה. את "חומת האבנים" שמתחת לכותרת, יצרתי על ידי החתמה פשוטה של סטיקרים משרדיים עם דיו דיסטרס. אני מאד אוהבת את התוצאה. האותיות הן, כמובן, "תוצרת הארץ". בהתחלה שמתי אותיות לבנות, אבל הן נבלעו לגמרי ברקע, וגם קצת יישון בדיו לא עזר, אז הלכתי על ניגוד מוחלט עם אותיות חומות.

תודה על תשומת הלב :)). השבת החורפית הזו ממש נעימה וכיפית (למעט העובדה שהבן הגדול שלי חולה מאתמול, אבל הוא מהסוג של חולים קלים, למרבה המזל).

The Snowmen - a lo for Sketches In Thyme

Yesterday was the last day of Hannukah. We had friends and we lit all the candles on the Hannukah lamp. Look how much light we had:

It's Thursday again, and it's Team B turn at Sketches In Thyme. Look what a lovely sketch we have this time!

The photo was taken about 4 years ago, when we traveled to Hermon mountains. We don't have snow in Israel usually, except for Hermon mt., and so on a beautiful and bright Saturday, I took the kids to see and feel the snow. Oh, how much fun we had!

I used October Afternoon's dp, and another one I don't remember where from, ric-rac ribbon and checkered red ribbon.

My beautiful Mom - lo for Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesday

Agin it's time for a new sketch challenge  at Sketch Along Tuesday Frosted Designs and this is my take on the awesome sketch designed by our talented Debbie. Here's the sketch:

I love this sketch! It can be easily used on a CAS version, and on a multi layers and lots of details version, just like I did it.

I twisted the sketch, so it'll fit the photo, which is of my beautiful mom on her wedding.

As a younk kid, I always thought that my mom is the most beautiful woman on earth (and also that she's very tall). I still think so :))...Hence the title, which is a line from an Israeli song, that says, in free translation: "My mom, who I believed to be the most beautiful woman".

I used Webster's Pages as the basis and K&Co. for the matting.

I used stickles (gold, red & green), lace, MS butterfly punch, crochet flower I made myself, pearl, ribbon and metal lock & key charms.

The letters are velvet stickers, an Isreali designed.

דף שהכנתי כחלק מצוות המעצבות באתגר הסקיצה של Frosted Designs. התמונה היא של אימי ביום חתונתם של הורי. כילדה קטנה תמיד האמנתי שאימי היא היפה בנשים (וגם מאד גבוהה), כך שהשורה מהשיר של שלמה ארצי, התאימה לי פרפקט. אני עדיין מאמינה שאימי מאד יפה. :)

עם דף של וובסטר'ס פייג'ס אי אפשר לפספס, והם תמיד משמשים בסיס נהדר לדפי וינטאג'. הוספתי דבק נצנצים (זהוב, ירוק ואדום) על אלמנטים שונים המצויירים על הדף, פרח קרושה שסרגתי, תחרה, פאנצ' פרפר של מרתה סטיוארט, כמה עלים מהאוסף שלי וכמובן השתמשתי באותיות "תוצרת הארץ" המופלאות, שבהן אני פשוט  מאוהבת. תראו כמה שהן מדהימות - ממש נראה כמו קאליגרפיה על הדף:

באתגר הסקיצה הקודם שלנו, אחד מהדפים שזכו כ- Top 3, היה של ישראלית - מיטל, עם הדף המדהים והיפהפה שלה. איזה כיף לראות יותר ויותר ישראליות משתתפות באתגרים בחו"ל וזוכות, בצדק, להכרה בכשרון הרב. הנה ההזדמנות להראות שהולכת ומתהווה פה מעצמת סקראפ :)))).

As Time Goes By....

It's Tuesday and that means a new sketch challenge at Frosted Designs!!  This time the sketch was done by our talented Diana, and here it is:

Now, isn't it a great sketch?!

I made this lo also for the movie poster inspiration at From Screen 2 Scrap, which was Casablanca!!! Here is the poster for the inspiration:

This is my no.1 favorite movie of all times! I love the romantic scenes, the love beyound time, the superb acting (I just love Humphrey Bogart & Ingrid Bergman!), the music and everything about this movie. And so the title was taken from the unforgettable song, As Time Goes By...

I took one of my parents' wedding photos, and I used Webster's Pages & 7 Gypsies' dp.

Here are some close-ups:

I used some glitter to higlight certain parts on the dp, to outline my parants figures, and on the wooden clock.  The left plastic flower is topped on a fabric layered flower I made myself and I spread some glitter on it. I also used chipboards (the aeroplane on the envelope, the year, and on top of the music notes dp, some rub-ons (the heart and 'love' on the clock), postage stamp, some lace trims, and a butterfly.

I cut part of the dp, so I could slide some of the paper doily and the lace under it, and to give some 3-d look.

The envelope is self-made , and inside I've put a note, telling the story of how my parents met. Here is a close-up of the opened envelope:

דף מעוצב לאתגר סקיצה ב-Frosted designs, עם סקיצה שפשוט הזמינה שכבות ומראה וינטאג'. הכנתי אותו גם עם השראה של פוסטר מהסרט "קזבלנקה", הסרט האהוב עלי ביותר.

לקחתי תמונת חתונה של הורי, וחתכתי מסביב לדמויות והוספתי סטיקלס זהב על קו המיתאר. השתמשתי בדפים של Webster's Pages ו- 7Gypsies, עם סרטי תחרה, מפת תחרה, שעון עץ, ציפבורדים, ראב-אונים, פרחים, מעטפת קראפט, אותיות קטיפה וסטיקרים ופרפר. בתוך המעטפה הכנסתי דף עם סיפור ההיכרות של הורי (לפחות הגרסה שסופרה לנו :))....).

יש כבר קצת השתתפות ישראלית בבלוג, ואני מאד מאד אשמח לעוד ועוד משתתפות מישראל. יש לנו יוצרות מדהימות וראויות להערכה גם בבלוגים מחו"ל.

He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother - lo and a sneak peak

When I saw the sketch challenge at Design Dollies and then the elements & color challenges there, I knew right away what photo I wish to scrap for all 3 challenges. Yep, I went all the way for the trifecta!!!

The photo, with my boys at the pool, was taken almost 6 months ago, on our last vacation. The boys were having so much fun at the pool, and the eldest lifted the youngest over and over again. Naturally, it was easy for him to do so in the water. When I saw the photo, I just knew that one day I'll scrap it with the title: "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", and now I got to do it. It's one of my fav songs, and I feel the lyrics are so meaningful. Why not enjoy it, while you are visiting me? Here it is..... I made the lo listening to the song...

The Dollies also asked for something that represent cold with a twist to put something  glittery. I used glimer mist for the circle masking, stickles to highlight the circle's line and glittery rub-ons letter. Only I got it a little messy with the letters and had to correct it with some stickles. Here's a close-up:

Well, it's the best I could do... and I guess you can still understand what's written...

כשראיתי את שלושת האתגרים באתר של Design Dollies, ידעתי מייד שאני רוצה לעבוד עם התמונה הזאת, שצולמה בחופשה האחרונה שלנו באילת. הבנים עשו חיים בבריכה, והגדול הניף את הצעיר שוב ושוב. כשראיתי את התמונות שיצאו, ישר קפצה לי לראש השורה הזאת מהשיר: He Ain't Heavy, He's My brother, ובראש תייקתי את זה ברשימה של "תמונות שאני רוצה להכין להם דפים".

בעיצומו של גל החום הזה (מה זה? אין סתיו? אין גשם? מדהים), כיף להיזכר במשהו קריר, וכך גם הגוונים של הדף כולו. זאת הייתה הדרישה באתגר, למשהו שמסמל קור (והמים בבריכה במלון באילת היו מאד קרים!), וגם למשהו עם גליטר.

השתמשתי בדיסק כדי ליצור מסיכה עם גלימר מיסט ומסביב הוספתי נקודות של סטיקלס, להדגיש את קו המיתאר. לכותרת השתמשתי כמה סוגים של אותיות - סטיקרים עגולים, סטיקרים מרובעים  וראב-אונים עם גליטר. האחרונים קצת התחרבשו לי, אז עברתי לתיקון עם קצת גליטר. פית מרציפן לימדה אותי שאפשר להשאיר טעויות בדף, אז הלכתי על זה... :) אני חושבת שעדיין אפשר לקרוא את הכתוב, ואם לא, אז השורה כל כך מוכרת , שכבר משלימים מידע אישי (בחינם).

ונתתי גם הצצה קטנה לדף נוסף שהכנתי, בו חזרתי לסגנון הוינטאג', ובגדול. את הדף במלואו אפשר יהיה לראות רק ביום שלישי, שאז יעלה אתגר סקיצה חדש באתר של Frosted Designs.

אז בינתיים אפשר להשתתף באתגר הסקיצה שרץ עד יום שני, ובאתגר החדש שעלה היום, שבו צריך לשלב את המילה "תודה" בכרטיס/דף.
