Bliss - Sketchabilities March 30th reveal

 

 It's reveal day at Sketchabilities, with the gorgeous #112 sketch by Karan:

I used a lot of gesso, mists, distress stains and ink on this page :)). I really enjoyed getting messy. I used the tag I made for my GD spot at CHAC, some Carta Bella's papers, Prima's stamps and Creative Embellihsments' snowflake chipboards.

Show some sparkle! - GD for 2nd challenge at Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge

This is my 2nd project as a GD at Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge blog, and this time the challenge is to show us some sparkle, glizt or glam!

Being a GD at CHAC, made me make projects I usally don't make, and that is awesome! I worked on my tag with several mediums, and for the sparkly part, I used glimmer mists, glitter and bling.

For my take, I slightly moved the photo with it's background to the side, but otherwise kept my lo very close to the origin sketch.

The photo is of my elsdest, about 1.5 year ago, when he was 10.

I used Basic Grey kraft cs. Distress stain, Mr. Huey's white mist and embossed stamping (TH stamp) were used for the background.  For the matting, I used some Echo Park pp, cork scraps and red corrugated paper. My embellies include homemade blackboard style tags, stars (die-cut, punched, stickers and  a Purple Pumpkin's flair button).

דף שהכנתי כחלק מצוות העיצוב ב-Sketchabilities. הזזתי את התמונה והרקע שלה מהמרכז לצד, כדי להתאים את העיצוב לתמונה ולשמור על איזון בין המרכיבים. כרקע השפרצתי מר יואי לבן והחתמתי עם דיו אמבוסינג חותמת עיגולים והבלטתי עם אבקת אמבוזינג לבנה. כרקע לתמונה צבעתי עם צבע דיסטרס והוספתי גם כמה תגיות סטייל לוח גיר שהכנתי בעצמי. להשלמת העיצוב, הוספתי קישוטי כוכבים מסוגים שונים - סטיקרים, תבנית חיתוך, פאנצ'ים וכפתור פלייר.

התמונה היא של הבכור, בטיול בנחל עיון לפני כשנה וחצי, כשהיה בן 10.

אז מה דעתכן על הסקיצה והפרשנות שלי? אשמח לקרוא תגובות וגם לראות השתתפות ישראלית באתגר הסקיצה.

My August Counterfeit Kit

This month I wanted to play again with Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog, and decided to go on a smaller sized kit, and I also wanted to use some of the scraps around.

Here's the kit to counterfeit, from Scrapbooking from the Inside Out:

My guidlines for counterfeiting the kit were mostly the colors (kraft, aqua/light blue, red and black), and by some of the patterns (diagonal stripes, chevrons).

I also gathered some selfmade tags and arrows, tickets, rafia ropes, wood veneer arrows, dew drops,  washi tapes, flair buttons and mists.

I really hope that with a smaller kit and some ideas in my mind, I will be able to make a few layouts this month (my muse is in a slow motion mood...).

החלטתי לשחק קצת עם קיט החיקוי החודש, אבל ללכת על קיט מצומצם, קטן יחסית לקיטים שבעבר הכנתי.  אולי עם קיט קטן יותר, וכמה רעיונות בראש, אצליח להכין כמה עמודים (המוזה בפאזה איטית למדי לאחרונה...).

רציתי גם להשתמש בשאריות דפים, לפעמים שאריות די קטנות, כדי להקטין את הכמות שמתרוצצת פה (ואז יהיה לי תירוץ והצדקה לקנות חומרים חדשים...), ואספתי גם כמה תגיות ג'ורנלינג שהכנתי בעצמי, עם חיצים, וואשי טייפ שונים, תגיות מוכנות, חיצים מעץ ועוד כל מיני קישוטים.

בתקווה להתנעה של המוזה....

לקיט החיקוי שלי לחודש אפריל קראתי "ימים צבעוניים", מתוך איזו שאיפה לימים קלים ורגועים יותר מאלו שהיו מנת חלקי בחודש האחרון. עומס רב בעבודה ובעיות בריאות לבני המשפחה גרמו לכך שהשבועות האחרונים היו מלאי מתח. אני מאד מקווה שמרבית הבעיות כבר מאחורי, אם כי ברור לי שאני לפני תקופה לחוצה בעבודה מייד לאחר תום חופשת פסח.

מקיט ההשראה לקחתי את הצבעוניות והדגמים הבולטים והרכבתי קיט משלי. אחד הדברים שאני מאד אוהבת באתגר של קיט החיקוי הוא שזה גורם לי להכין צירופים של צבעים ודגמים שברגיל לא הייתי עושה, ואני אפילו שמחה עם התוצאות. חוץ מזה, ממש כיף להכין קישוטים בעצמי, ובקיט הנוכחי, למרות הזמן הקצר שיכולתי להקדיש להכנת הקיט, הצלחתי ליצור כמה קישוטים תוצרת בית - ה'כפתורים' הצבעוניים והתגיות.

עכשיו נותר לי רק לקוות שגם יהיו לי זמן ומוזה כדי להשתמש בקיט הזה....

יש מצטרפות החודש? קיט ההשראה עושה המון שמח בלב, אז קדימה....

The movie poster inspiration for March at FS2S is "The Secret Graden". I didn't see this movie, but the book was one of my all time fav as a child. I read it over and over again. I had the perfect photo for this challenge - a photo of my kids, taken about a year ago, on one of our traveling. They walked ahead of me, and looking at the photo makes me think about how they've grown up, and how growing up means 'leaving the nest' (sigh...).

I have all creteria here - a garden photo, a flower cluster and a fence as garden decoration. All dp and die-cuts are Kaisercrafts' (Pickled Pear collection), the tag is homemade, a little heat embossed on top. The birdcage and the bird are WOW chipboards, the fence was cut with Cheery Lynn die, and the flowers are from my stash.

דף לאתגר של השראה מפוסטר של סרט ('סוד הגן הנעלם' - אחד מספרי הילדות האהובים עלי ביותר!),  ולאתגר של סקיצה. כל הדפים המדוגמים והחיתוכים הם של קייזרקראפט מאיקס מיקס. כלוב הציפורים והציפור הם צ'יפבורדים של WOW. הגדר נחתכה עם הביג שוט ותבנית חיתוך של צ'ירי לין. את התגית שעליה הכותרת הכנתי בעצמי, עם הבלטה חמה ואבקת פרפקט פרלס. חותמת קיר הלבנים שבצד השמאלי היא חלק מסט חותמות נפלא של רקעים שונים, גם כן מאיקס מיקס.

התמונה צולמה לפני כשנה, בשבת חורפית קרה. נסענו לטייל בכרמל שהתחיל להחזיר לעצמו מצבעיו הירוקים אחרי השריפה הגדולה. בדרך עצרנו באנדרטה לזכר הנספים באסון הכרמל, ואח"כ המשכנו לטייל בשוויצריה הקטנה. התחושה שם היא באמת של 'הגן הנעלם'.

Our 2nd challenge for February at About A Boy challenge blog is 'Oh, Baby'. You should make a lo, featuring a baby's photo, age 0-1y, but remember is should be a BOY's photo...

The photo in my lo is of my youngest, when he was about 8 weeks old.

For this lo I used my Feb Counterfeit Kit, and I mixed papers from the main kit and the add-on kit.

I used the Feb sketch from C'est Magnifique:

I didn't have a chipboard frame, so I replaced it with a gauze frame. Since I cut my boy's image apart from the photo, I matted it with handmade flowers, and added die-cut doily and  flourishes (Cheery Lynn fanciful flourish and France Pastry- for their 'frame it' challenge).

בדף הזה השתמשתי בחומרים מקיט החיקוי של פברואר, ושילבתי בין דפים מהקיט העיקרי לקיט התוספת. הפרחים המשמשים מאטינג לתמונה (שנחתכה) עשויים ביד והוספתי סלסולי עלים שנחתכו בביג שוט. כמסגרת השתמשתי בגאזה, והוספתי גם דוילי (גם כן נחתכה בביג שוט) ותגית.

This is my first lo made as About A Boy DT. Our 1st challenge is an easy one - just introduce your man to us. The only cretria is that you boy's name should appear on the lo.
There's an awesome prize this month:

The title of the lo says, in Hebrew: "I.D. Card". I took two cute photos of my boys, and behind each photo I tacked a journaling tag, stating the boy's name, date and place of birth, weight, etc.

זהו הדף הראשון שלי כחברה בצוות העיצוב של About A Boy, בלוג אתגרים חדש, שכולו מוקדש לדפי אלבום עבור הגברים שבחיינו.

האתגר הראשון הוא קליל ביותר - להציג את הגברים שלנו. הדרישה היחידה היא שבדף יופיע השם של הילד. הכנתי דף שהוא 'תעודת זהות'. לקחתי שתי תמונות חמודות של הילדודס ומאחוריהן הכנסתי תגיות נסתרות עם כיתוב לכל אחד מהילדודס - שם, תאריך ומקום לידה, משקל הלידה וכיוצ"ב.

אמרתי שהאתגר קליל....

החומרים בדף הזה לקוחים כולם מקיט החיקוי של חודש פברואר. המסגרות, התגיות, הדוילי'ס והשלט, פרח הג'ינס וסלסולי העלים - כולם נחתכו בעזרת הביג שוט. עוד קישוטים שבהם השתמשתי הם חיתוכי העץ של החיצים ו-flair button.

אז מה אתן אומרות? מצטרפות? גם לקיט החיקוי וגם לאתגר הבנים....

So Excited

Another lo made of my Jan Counterfeit Kit, with a photo of my youngest, on his borther's 5th birthday party. The little one was so excited to participate in that party, to play along with the "big" kids. He was really thrilled :). I love this photo, capturing that chubby cheek :))).

I was inspired by #141 palette at The Color Rooms:

I love the little touches of red here and there, I think they really add some interest to the page.

I used sketch #13 from Scrap Africa, only turned it vertical:

I used texture modeling paste, fussy cutting and hand stitching around the page. Papers are mix and match from Bazzill, Ruby Rock-It, Basic Grey. The journaling card is from one of my previous counterfeit kits.

על הדף הזה אפשר לומר "היהפוך כושי עורו".... בסופו של דבר אנחנו בד"כ נשארים עם הסגנון האישי הייחודי שלנו, ולא "הופכים את עורנו". זה מה שקרה לי עם הסקיצה ביוצאות מהקווים. במבט ראשון (ושני, ושלישי ואפילו שישי) בכלל לא אהבתי את הסקיצה.
ועוד התלוותה אליה קריאה נרגשת למינימליזם... כאילו דאהההה???? לא מתאים לי, לא בשבילי. זה לא שיש לי בעיה עם white space, בכלל לא (למשל בדף הזה שהכנתי ממש לאחרונה),  אבל משהו בסקיצה הזאת לא נראה לי. אז עזבתי את זה.

אבל אתגר זה אתגר, לא? אז בדקתי איך אני יכולה בכל זאת לבצע את הסקיצה הזאת, עם תרגום אישי שלי, עם הסגנון שלי.

אז מה היה לנו בסקיצה הזאת. שתי נקודות מיקוד שוות (כבר בעיה....), ממוקמות בשני קצוות מנוגדים של הדף. בכל מוקד, תמונה עם מאטינג וכותרת. באחד מהמוקדים גם קישוט קטן ומינימליסטי.

ואיך מתרגמים את הסקיצה הזאת למשהו שבכל זאת יתקבל על דעתי? קודם כל משנים את הפרופורציות. מוקד אחד קיבל דגש רב יותר - הוא גדול יותר, עשיר יותר בפרטים. שימוש בתמונה גדולה מאד של תקריב, כמה שכבות מאטינג של דפים מדוגמים, עיטור תחרה בתחתית, וכל אלה מורכבים על רקע של קיר לבנים ומסיכה עם משחת עיצוב בעלת טקסטורה. 

יופי, כבר נהיה לי טוב יותר בעין.

המוקד השני, המשני, הפך להיות המקום לכותרת של הדף כולו ולג'ורנלינג. כדי לשמור על הסימטריה ועל החזרה (שני אלמנטים עיצוביים חשובים), שני המוקדים 'מתכתבים' זה עם זה בעיטור הפרחים הכחלחלים הגזורים, בפיסת דף מדוגם אדמדם שמציץ מהצד, ובנגיעות של הפרחים האדומים.

המוקד הגדול והראשי קיבל את כותרת המשנה - התאריך, שהושמה בתוך תגית עם חוט אופים מסתלסל, וכך שמרתי גם על האלמנט הקישוטי שלצד המוקד התחתון.

עוד נגיעות עיצוביות שהפכו את הדף הזה ל"שלי" הן הדיסטרוס של הדפים, ובמיוחד של דף הבסיס, שהוספה לו שכבה מתחת של דף תכלת מנוקד בעדינות. עוד תפירה ידנית מסביב לכל הדף - ויכולתי להסתכל בסיפוק על הדף הזה. עכשיו זה נראה בסדר גמור.

והתמונה המדהימה הזאת היא של צעיר הבנים, כשהיה כבן שלוש שנים, משתתף בהתרגשות רבה בחגיגת יום ההולדת של אחיו הבכור.

הכנת דף מונוכרומטי היא אתגר רציני עבורי, אבל זה מה בדיוק מה שאני אוהבת באתגרים - מותחים את גבולות היצירתיות. שיחקתי עם פלטת צבעים של חומים בגוונים שונים, עם סקיצה שדרשה השפרצות.

הסקיצה הייתה פשוטה מידי עבורי, אז העמסתי שכבות כמאטינג והשתמשתי בבאנרים להוספת עניין. ושוב מככב פרח הלבד שהוכן בעזרת הביג שוט. ההכנה של הפרחים הללו קלילה, פשוטה ומהירה והאפקט שלהם מאד מוצלח.
