A desktop calendar board

U

sing my September Counterfeit Kit for a gift project - a desktop calendar board, with a pocket for all the months, plus some inspiration notes, and a large photo mat.
I also attached a birthday card.
I used a great tutorial for making the board with the pocket, which you can find HERE (it's in Hebrew, but with the photos I believe you can figure out what need to be done).
I've made my own interpretation for this board - I didn't use a magnetic sheet, as I wanted it to stand on the desk, so I've made a supportive board on the back, to hold the board steady (but forgot to take a photo of the back side...). I also added metal corners.
In the pocket there are 6 cards with the months, one on each side. There's also an envelope to hold all the small inspiration notes.
It's a perfect gift for the begining of the year and I will give it to a good friend who works with me.

#Beautiful - mixed media layout

September 2019

For this layout, I was inspired by two challenges.
The 2nd is September challenge at Splashy Mix Challenge:
Such a fabulous color combo! you can take it to verious options, and mine is the industrial one.
The papers (13@rts and Craft O'Clock) are from my September Counterfeit kit.
Lindy's products that I've used:
Magicals - Pineapple Paradise from Caribbean Cruise set.

Land that I love

Runner Up at More Than Words
for September challenge

It was Election day this week here in Israel, so apart from voting, I celebrated the day off by making a layout with an inspiration so matching the day.
The current challenge at More Than Words challenge blog is 'Origin plus colors of your country's flag'.
I was born and raised in Israel. this is my homeland, land that I love.
Our flag's colors are blue and white, and the design of the flag is inspired by the Talit design - stripes at the edges and Magen David (star of David) in the middle. I used these elements in my layout.
I used a photo of David's tower in Jerusalem, this is one of Israel's most famous sights.
I was also inspired by the current challenge at Creative Embellishments
Mostly by the hues of blue in the tubes. I also used some flairs (some of CE) for the twist of a circular element. The flourish chipboards are also of CE.
To color the chipboards, I use Lindy's Gang embossing powders (Midnight Copper, Madonna Robe Blue Gold and Desert Moon Turquoise).

The Magen David is made by two opposite triangles, so I used 7 Dots Studio stamp of triangles (Dreamscapes), heat embossed with Lindy's ep (Purely White).
Some of the stamps on the background are  49 and Market (Pascale's Grammer). The flowers are all 49 and Market (Blossom Blends Cotton, Blossom Blends Sea Breeze, Vintage Shades Potpouri blue and cotton).

Inks are TH tea dye distress ink, and Ranger's archival inks sepia and jet black).
Papers are 13Arts, Mintay Papers, Fancy Pants and Craft O'clock - all from my September Counterfeit Kit (and so are CE flairs)
Mediums - Finnabair's gesso, clear and white.

The Bats Whisperer- CSI case file no. 295

Mid September and it's time for a new case file at CSI - case file no. 295:
I was inspired by the color scheme, and did my layout in a free style, so I didn't follow the evidence and testimony.
My layout is also in a bold look, not like the inspiration photo.
I used my September Counterfeit kit for this layout, with some of my handmade embellishments.
When my youngest and I were on a visit at London 4 years ago, we saw some artificial bats hanging from the trees. We really liked it and my son started 'whispering' to the bats. It was so funny to see him doing this.

Fly Away - September's Counterfeit Kit

Once again I'm playing with Counterfeit Kit, which have a special kit for this month, designed just for the blog, by Secret Not Secret Kit Club. Here's the inspiration kit:
I really loved it! finally a masculine kit :).
As usuall, I started by the colors, then the patterns and other items that my eyes were drawn to (like the white doodled ellipses on a gray paper, and the paper with the pine trees).
I decided that I MUST include some old papers and items in my kit in order to de-stash, along with more new papers/ items.
So here's my 'Fly Away' kit:
Papers side A:
Papers side B:
Add on papers side A:
Add on papers side B:
Embellishments:

I counterfeited the trees paper using Deep Red rubber stamp with different inks, I made a 7X5 kraft paper with cameras, using a Jillibean's stamp and embossing it with Lindy's ep.
Next I die cut some words from foam, and 2 others from a heavy wheight black cs, and then heat embossed it with a dark blue shiny Lindy's ep.  I also made my own doodled ellipses:

I also die cut some stars, tags, arrows, and made some 'tickets'.

I didn't include cs, stamps, mixed media products and stencils, as I will use them anyway along the way.

I already have some project in mind to use with my kit, so stay tuned....

Thank you for visiting my blog. Your comments are always much appreciated.

Magic - case file no. 294 at CSI

Happy Sunday to all my crafty friends! after a very long summer vacation it's time to get back to routine.
And a new month means a new case file at CSI - case file no. 294. Here's the inspiration photo:
The color scheme reminded me of the colors of Mickey Mouse and Mini Mouse photos from our visit at Disneyland Paris, so I took one photo of me & the mouse and one of me & Mini...
I used Laura Whitaker's fab sketch for MCS:
I used Simple Stories papers and embellishments, mainly from Say Cheese II collection, and added some Echo Paper papers.
I used ALL the clues from the evidence: grid pattern, ledger pattern, papers with a graphic pattern (circles), school-themed elements (the pencil that holds the title), camera, metal (the brads and the eyelet on the tag), buttons, brads, layers stickers (handmade - the cloud), geometric shapes (circles and rectangles), dimensional letters (chipboards letters), a string, a clip, frames, used a pen to draw outlines.

I wrote my journaling on a lined paper and used the inspiration word 'Back to'... I wrote about going back to childhood memories and charcters.
