With all the holidays around, there are lots of challenges asking for "holiday" theme. Holiday in English have two meaning, either festive day or vacaion, so I took the liberty to go along the "vacaion" meaning, and used a photo of mine on one of our vactions in Eilat. Whenever we have a vcation in Eilat we don't just stay at the hotel, but we take trips around, either on our way to Eilat or on our way back. I wrote about this tradition in the hidden journaling on the tag tacked behind the photo.

I used December sketch from C'est Magnifique:

I used many CheeryLynn dies - French Pastry; Fancyfull Flourish, Mini Fancyfull Flourish; Francesca lace border.

My inspiration came from case file #50 at CSI:

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - used all 5 colors.

Evidence - wood (the background dp), fabric (the little white felt flower), stitching, stripes (diagonal on the dp).

Testimony - my hidden jouranling is about our holiday (vaction) tradition.

ברוח החגים הנוצריים, הרשת מלאה באתגרים שהנושא שלהם הוא "חג", רק שלמילה Holiday באנגלית יש משמעות לא רק של חג, אלא גם של חופשה. את המשמעות הנוספת הזאת לקחתי כדי לתעד מסורת משפחתית שלנו לגבי חופשות שלנו באילת. אנחנו נמצאים באילת בתדירות של פעם בשנה, ובכל פעם אנחנו מנצלים את ההזדמנות לאיזה טיול בטבע, בין שבדרך לאילת ובין שבדרך חזרה (ולפעמים גם וגם).

פלטת הצבעים שהייתה ב-CSI מאד אהובה עלי, כך שהיה לי קל לעבוד איתה.  מכשיר ההשחתה של אינגבילד בולם עבד הרבה, וכך גם הביג שוט. אני חושבת שאחד מיתרונותיו הגדולים ביותר של הביג שוט, הוא דווקא היותו בלתי מתקפל. בניגוד לקאטלבאג, אי אפשר לקפל אותו קומפקטית ולהכניס לארון. הוא דייר קבע על השולחן, מה שעושה את השימוש בו לכל כך נגיש.
הוספתי גם חיתוך קארדסטוק של Kaisercraft, פרח גדול של Manorhouse Creations (יש להם פרחים מהממים, בהחלט תחרות ראויה לפרימה...) וחותמת של סרט צילום.

The way you were - a lo

This is my take on the beautiful October sketch at C'est Magnifique, drwan by Nadia Cannizzo:

The photo was taken 5 years ago, and it's amazing how the boys have grown up....sigh...

Most of the supplies are from my October Counterfeit Kit, and I only added the corrugated cardboard and the journaling spot for my title.

דף שהכנתי לאתגר סקיצה, עם תמונה של הבנים, שצולמה לפני 5 שנים. מדהים איך הם גדלו...

כמעט כל החומרים בדף הם מקיט החיקוי של חודש אוקטובר, ולמעשה כולם שאריות (אף דף חדש לא נחתך לצורך ההכנה). הוספתי רק את הקרטון הגלי ואת תגית הכיתוב ששימשה לכותרת.
הקישוטים הם תוצרת עצמית - הפרחים המקופלים, העלים המקומטים, כפתורי השעם והבלינג.

Your Smile - a lo

My eldest has an adorable smile, he always had this smile, ever since he was a baby. This is what this lo is all about.

My inspiration was case file no. 20 at CSI:

My "clues" to solve the case were: 

For the eveidence - spirals (the rolled flowers); felt, dots and insect (the ladybird beetle); kraft background; paint drops (I used glimmer mist).
For the testimony - I set my journaling on top of stripes and then with foam dots on the dp squares. My IW was cute.

More inspiration for this lo came from Bird Is The Word challenge, which was 'smile'.
All the supplies, except of the ladybird beetle embellishment, are from my May Counterfeit Kit. This is my 7th lo from this kit.

דף שכל כולו מוקדש לחיוך המדהים של הבכור. מאד שהיה תינוק יש לו חיוך מקסים, מלא אור וכובש לבבות.
 ההשראה לדף באה גם מהאתגר המשולב ב-CSI וגם מאתגר השראה ממילה, כשהפעם מילת ההשראה הייתה 'CUTE'.
כל החומרים בדף, למעט הקישוט של 'פרת משה רבנו', הם מקיט החיקוי שלי של חודש מאי ב-counterfeit kit.
יש הרבה דיסטרסינג בדף, התזות של גלימר מיסט ופרחים מגולגלים.

Que Sera Sera - a lo

 This is my take on #14 case file at CSI. Here's the case file:

The photo is of myself, about 20 years ago, holding a map to find out our way on a travel I had with my BFF. The lo is mix&match of different manufacturers - dp: Making Memories, K&Co., DCWV; alphas: Basic Grey, My Little Shoebox; inks: TH Ranger distress ink (vintage photo) amd Versa Color; stamp (the pocket watch): Inkadinkado; brads: Stamperia; pearls, doily, thread and lace trim: my stash. The rolled flowers were made according to Wintam's tutorial.

Here are some close-ups on the details:

The 'evidences': animal accents - the birds (fussy cutting); wet medium - distress ink and green ink for the pocket watches; sanding technique - I sanded the green dotty dp, the brown dp and the faux envelope (love the effect!). 

The 'testimony': the hidden journaling (the other side of the faux envelope) is from the 'end' (today) to the beginging (20 years ago), and it's all about 'who would've believed' that I will have the job I'm doing right now and the family I have. it's very personal so I kept it hidden :). I also took inspiration from the word 'time', and thought about how time gives us some sort of perspective - what we were and dreamed of and what we became eventually. It was my inspiration both for the title (great song, isn't it?) and the journaling, and that is why I put those watches to resemble time.

This lo is also for two other challenges: Bird Is The Word, with the word 'Future' as inspiration - in my subtitle; and for the challenge at Scrapbookers Anonymous (so sad that it's their last challenge), which asked for a map (not only I made the faux envelope from a map dp, but in the photo I'm holding a map... ) and brads (the center of the upper watch, on the envelope and on the title and subtitle).

דף מעוצב שהכנתי לאתגר משולב של צבעים/אלמנטים/ג'ורנלינג ב-CSI, אתגר של השראה של מילה ואתגר של שימוש באלמנטים (דף מפה ובראדים).

התמונה היא שלי, לפני כ-20 שנה בטיול בנחל צלמון עם חברתי הטובה ביותר. הג'ורנלינג החבוי (הצד השני של ה'מעטפה') מדבר על 'מי היה מאמין', ומתייחס למשפחה שהקמתי והג'וב שלי כיום, לעומת מה שהיה לפני כ-20 שנה (וחלקים מהדברים הללו לא הייתי מאמינה שכך יתגלגלו...). הסימבוליות היא כפולה - גם מפה כתוואי הדרך וגם הזמן שנותן לנו פרספקטיבה על מה חלמנו להיות ומה הפכנו בסופו של דבר. לכן גם נבחרה הכותרת הספיציפית הזאת - קה סרה סרה...

בדף יש שילוב של יצרנים רבים בדפים המדוגמים ובחומרים בהם השתמשתי. אחד המרכיבים באתגר היה שימוש בטכניקה של שיוף הדפים. שייפתי את ה'מעטפה' וחלק מהדפים המדוגמים (הירוק המנוקד והחום). אני מאד אוהבת את האפקט שנוצר. הפרחים המקופלים נעשו לפי ההדרכה של WINTAM.

אנחנו יוצאים לטייל, לנצל את מזג האוויר הנפלא, רגע לפני השרב הצפוי מחר. הטבע במלוא פריחתו המדהימה, וזו התקופה היפה ביותר לטיולים, כי עוד מעט הכל יצהיב....

Another lo I've made with my counterfeit kit, a very springy one. It's me, 9 years ago,  carring my eldest on my back on a spring travel we had with good friends. We walked down the river and reached this wonderful waterfall. 

I used #203 sketch from Creative Scrappers:

All dp and journaling label are Jillibean Soup and I added a green cs (DCWV), bling (Zva), brads (Stamperia), velvet alphas (local manufacturer), mini alphas (MLS), a doily and pearls (my hoarded stash). I also used MS lace border punch and butterfly punch. The rolled flowers were made acoording to Wintam's tutorial.

דף נוסף שהכנתי עם קיט החיקוי שלי (counterfeit kit), עם אווירה אביבית. התמונה היא מלפני 9 שנים, אני סוחבת במנשא גב את הבכור, בטיול עם חברים במפלי פרוד. כל הדפים המדוגמים, וגם התווית עם התאריך הם של Jillibean Soup, הוספתי דף ירוק של DCWV, בלינג, דוילי, בראדים ופנינים. האותיות הן 'תוצרת הארץ' של מסטיקים ורחלי גזית,  ואת הפרחים המקופלים הכנתי לפי ההדרכה הנפלאה של WINTAM.

אני מפתיעה מאד את עצמי בשימוש בקיט החיקוי, כי היה לי די קשה להתחבר לקיט ההשראה. לא הייתי משוכנעת עד כמה אשתמש בקיט שבניתי לעצמי, כי הצבעים והסגנון של הדפים די שונים מ'אזור הנוחות' שלי.  אני ממש שמחה לראות שאני מצליחה להכין דפים שונים מהסגנון הרגיל שלי, ואפילו לאהוב את התוצאות (שלא לדבר על התחושה הכיפית של להשתמש בחומרים הקיימים ולפנות מקום).

A photo of my boys, walking in the forest on Carmel Mountains. I thought they looked like little elves :)).
The die cut dp is Little Yellow Bycicle (from Twig collection); the pink dp are Basic Grey and Echo Park; the pompon ribbon is Fancy Pants (Beach Bumb collection); The flowers are hand made - I used glimmer mist on a white cs, punched and layered; on the center I placed rolled flowers (made according to Wintam's tutorial).

I used #104 sketch from Tuesday Trio, with the theme magic:

For the colors, I was inspred by #96 palette from The Color Room:

דף מעוצב שהכנתי לפי סקיצה 104 של 'שלוש בשלישי. שיניתי מעט את הסקיצה, במיוחד לאור זאת שהבסיס שלי היה דף עגול ולא מרובע. מעבר לכך, נשארתי נאמנה למדי לסקיצה.
מעבר לדף הבסיס העגול, כל יתר הדפים שהשתמשתי בהם הם שאריות. את הפרחים המגולגלים הכנתי לפי ההדרכה של Wintam.

האתגר הנלווה היה "קסם", ולכן בחרתי בתמונה של שני הבנים שלי, מטיול שעשינו ממש לאחרונה באחד מהשבילים ביערות הכרמל.  המראה שלהם, לבושים בקפוצ'ונים ועם המגפיים, מקפצים בשביל בתוך החורש העבות - העלה בי אסוציאציה של שדוני יער קטנים וחמודים. קסום, לא?
הצבעים של הדף היו לפי פלטת הצבעים של The Color Room, ולמרות שזו לכאורה פלטת צבעים "נשית", היא התאימה בעיני לדף הזה, כי הצבעים שבה 'מדברים' נפלא עם צבעי התמונה עצמה.

כשצרויה העלתה את האתגר השני שלה, אתגר "אביב", היו לי כמה וכמה רעיונות מה לעשות  לאתגר הזה. אחד  מהם היה מסגרת מעוצבת, עם פרחים מקופלים לפי ההדרכה הנפלאה של WINTAM, כביטוי לפריחה המתפרצת באביב.

לקחתי קנבס שהכין צעיר הבנים לפני כשנה בגן. הוא כבר בכיתה א', אז אני מניחה שזה בסדר למחזר, לא?... כיסיתי בשכבת ג'סו ואח"כ צבעתי בשתי שכבות של צבע אקרילי. יישנתי את הקצוות עם דיו והחתמתי כמה  חותמות.  כרקע הדבקתי דף של Webster's Pages. הפרחים הוכנו מדפים מדוגמים ששכנו להם בקופסת השאריות (מרביתם של בייסיק גריי) וכך גם העלים הגזורים ביד. 

've made this frame from a canvas my youngest made in the kindergarten a year ago. Well, he already at 1st grade, so I guess it's okay to re-use it, right? LOL

I didn't take a photo how it was, cause I've already covered it with gesso long time ago. Here's a photo of how it looked all covered with gesso:

I took several dp I've got in my scrap box (most of them are Basic Grey)  and made the rolled flowers, according to this wonderful tutorial. A few stamps and Thickers letters, and that's it.

Studing - lo

I've made this lo for the Glitz January challenge, which is this photo for inpiration:

I was inpired by the soft colors - greenish, yellowish and white. I was also inpired by the frosty look, so I added some stickles and glitter on my yellowish flowers.

I was also inpired by #94 color palette at The Color room, also with green, yellow, grey and white:

I used mostly Glitz dp (Vintage Blue collection & Dance in the sunshine collection), that I won at Artful Delight about a month ago (thanks again, Leeanne!). I really love these papers! I also used some scraps I had from older projects and made the big flowers and the greenish leaves.

I laced the dp with yellow baker's twine I got as a New Year's gift from the generous KarenW (thank you so much Karen!). The date is Authentique. the title - My Little Shoebox.

The photo is me, when I was a student, and I studied hard for an exam.
I was inspired by the beautiful creations of some very talented ladies: Gabrielle Pollacco, Lisa Gregory, Ingvild Bolme, Stacy Cohen, Pascale Bernard and Delaina Burns. Thank you, ladies, for so much inspiration!

דף וינטאג'י נוסף, עם תמונה שלי מתקופת המבחנים באוניברסיטה (במילים אחרות - מתקופת החרשנות...). שכבות, קריעות, יישון, פרחים תוצרת עצמית, שזירת חוט, הרבה עלים גזורים משאריות דפים מדוגמים, גליטר, סטיקלס, פרחים מגולגלים... ושילוב צבעים שלא יוצא לי בדרך כלל לעבוד איתו, ומסתבר שהוא להיט עכשיו בסקראפ העולמי (לפחות חלק מהשילוב - צהוב ואפור).
