This is my take on case file #112 at CSI. I loved the subtle and beautiful palette, and my photo, taken at Lugano lake on 1995, was a perfect match with it's colors.

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - all colors are here.

Evidence- patterned background, something sheer, something puffy, wood, frames, flowers, buttons, floral pattern.

Testimony - I've made a vellum pocket, and my journaling is in the envelope, inside the pocket. I wrote about that awesome vacation I've had and how the tranquility of the vies calmed me and made me reach some important desicions concerning my life at that time: "Over there, in front of the beautiful tranquil vies of Lugano lake, I could feel serenity, take a good insight of my life. There, at that tranquility, I've reached important descisions, thae led me, half a year later, to leave my hometown, my job, a bad realationship I've had, and to move forward to something better for me. Lugano, August 1995."
I finally used my so hoarded Fancy Pants products - mainly Park Bench collection (pp, stickers, alphas, die-cuts, a paper bag and an envelope). I used Petaloo flowers and flowers I've made with Die Namics dies. The frame was also made with Die-Namics dies. I also used Studio Calico heart wood veneers, American Crafts cs & brads, EK flower bling. The doilies and the floral swirls were cut with Cheery Lynn dies, and I colored the swirls with Hiedi Swap color shine & Lindy's Stamp Gang Sturbust mists, I love the shimmery look of it. Buttons and pearls, and a builder tape, are from my stash.

Feeding the Kangaroo - Sketchabilities #105

A  new sketch is up at Sketchabilities and this is my take on this awesome sketch, designed by Karan. Here's sketch #105:

The photo is of my youngest, feeding a kangaroo at the Australian Zoo we have in Israel.

I used papers from Making Memories, Kaisercraft and DCWV. For the matting, I used a small paper bag. The embellishments are Echo Park stickers (Beautiful Life collection), Purple Pumpkin's flair button, Webster's Pages chipboard buttons, some embroidery threads and a wooden kangaroo from my stash.

For the background I used Studio Calico's triangles mask with TH distress ink and some stamping and heat embossing of Hero Arts text stamp.

My inspiration for the colors was palette #165 at The Color Room:

I loved this warm palette.  I also followed the inspiration from Scrap 4 Help:

I would like to enter it to the contest at Paper Issues, for the zoo theme.

אמצע החודש וזה הזמן לסקיצה חדשה ב-Sketchabilities. אני מאד אוהבת את הסגנון הזה של סקיצות, עם דפים מדוגמים לאורך ותמונה רוחבית, עם קישוטים מהצדדים.  התמונה בדף היא של צעיר הבנים, בביקור שלנו בגן גורו לפני למעלה משנה וחצי. הוא כל כך נהנה להאכיל את הקנגרו מכף ידו :-).

ליצירת הרקע השתמשתי במסיכה של סטודיו קאליקו עם דיו דיסטרס ובהחתמה ואמבוסינג של חותמת כיתוב. הדפים הם ערבוב של חברות שונות - קייזרקראפט, DCWV, MM. הקישוטים כוללים סטיקרים של Echo Park, כפתורי צ'יפבורד של וובססטר'ס וכפתור  מתכת של Purple Pumpkin (ממש לאחרונה זכיתי אצלם בפרס... מחכה שיגיע כבר בדואר). הוספתי גם כמה חוטי רקמה מפוזרים באופן אקראי. את הקנגרו מעץ צבעתי בקצוות עם שני גוונים של דיו דיסטרס, ואת הגוף עם גוון אחר, וכמאטינג לתמונה השתמשתי בשקית נייר קטנה.

DIY mini chevron envelope - a tutorial הדרכה מצולמת להכנת שקיות מנייר עם זיגזגים

In my March Counterfeit Kit I've included mini envelopes with the chevron pattern, just like those in the inspiration kit. Here's a tutorial how I've made them.

לקיט החיקוי שלי לחודש מרץ הכנסתי מעטפות קטנות עם דוגמא של זיגזגים (דוגמא שכל כך טרנדית לאחרונה), כחיקוי למעטפות הקטנות שיש בקיט ההשראה. הכנתי הדרכה קלילה איך להכין את המעטפות הללו.

You'll need: 
a piece of white paper (I used the simple printer paper);
a ruler;
a craft knife;
decorative scissors;
an adhesive;
a chevron mask or a chevron stamp (I used Studio Calico chevron mask);
ink in desired color;

חומרים:

דף נייר לבן (הכי פשוט שיש. השתמשתי בדף של מדפסת);

סרגל;

סכין חיתוך;

מספרי צורות (השתמשתי באופציה של חיתוך זיגזגי);

דבק;

מסיכה בדוגמא של זיגזגים או חותמת באותה דוגמא;

דיו בצבע הרצוי;

Step 1:

I worked without measuring, just by the eye. The point is to decide the length and width you  want for your envelope. You should add about 1-1.5 intch to the length on top, and 1/2 intch on the bottom. The width of your paper should be twice the width of the finished envelope. The width should be twice the width you wish for the finished envelope to be.

Length - score 1-1.5 intch on the top, and 1/2 intch on the bottom.

Width - fold the paper so that one side is wider than the other, and in a way that they lap each other (wider on top).

It should look like this (you don't have to mark the lines. I did it just to make it clear on the photo):

הערה מקדימה - לא נתתי מידות, ולמען האמת גם לא עבדתי עם מידות אלא לפי העין. אתן צריכות להחליט מה הגודל הסופי הרצוי של המעטפה , ובהתאם לתכנן את הביצוע. לגודל הסופי צריך להוסיף כך: באורך 2-3 ס"מ בראש הדף ו-1 ס"מ בתחתית; הרוחב צריך להיות כפליים מהרוחב הסופי הרצוי של המעטפה.
באורך צריך לקפל 2-3 ס"מ בראש הדף ו-1 ס"מ בתחתית. 
ברוחב צריך לקפל את הצדדים של הדף כך שיצא 2/3 ו-1/3, כשהם חופפים, והחלק הרחב יותר מעל החלק הצר יותר.
הדף אמור להראות כך (אין הכרח לסמן, אני סימנתי כדי שבתמונה קוי הקיפול יהיו ברורים):

Step 2:

On each of the 4 corners, cut the outer recangles according to the scored lines. that's what you should get:

בכל אחת מ-4 הפינות, חתכו את המלבנים הקטנים החיצוניים, בהתאם לקוי הקיפול. זו התוצאה המתקבלת:

Step 3:

Cut small triangles on each of the small flaps' corners (up and bottom).

שלב 4:

חתכו משולשים קטנים בפינות של כל אחת מהלשוניות - העליונה והתחתונה.

Step 4:

Fold the big flaps from the outside to the inside, bigger on top, and adhere only where they lap each other.

שלב 4:

קפלו את הלשוניות הגדולות מהצדדים פנימה, כאשר הלשונית הרחבה יותר מעל הצרה. הדביקו אחת לשניה, אבל רק במקום שהן חופפות (כדי להשאיר מקום פתוח לכיס של המעטפה).

Step 5:

Fold the bottom flap on to of the other flaps and ahere it to them.

שלב 5:

קפלו את הלשונית התחתונה על גבי הלשוניות האחרות והדביקו.

Step 6:

Cut the flap on the top with the decorative scissors.

שלב 6:

חתכו את הלשונית העליונה בעזרת מספרי הצורות.

That what you'll get, your envelope is ready:

זו התוצאה שתקבלו, המעטפה מוכנה:

Step 7:

Place the chevron mask on the envelope and secure it with masking tape.

שלב 7:

הניחו את מסיכת הזיגזגים על המעטפה והצמידו אותה באמצעות מסקינג טייפ.

Step 8:

Apply ink over the mask (you can use glimmer mist, acrylic paint, etc.)

שלב 8:

עברו עם דיו על המסיכה (אפשר, כמובן, להשתמש גם בגלימר מיסט, צבע אקרילי וכו').

That's it! your mini chevron envelope is ready!

You can use it as a pocket to hold photos or journaling tags, as a matting for your photo or your title - the possibilities are endless.

Remember This Momemt (no journaling)

The 1st challenge at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog is an easy peassy one - no journaling. Since journaling is, unfortunately, one of my weak spots in scrapping, it was a real relief for me to be assigned to this challenge LOL.

After being uncertain what background to use, I finally decided on the pink one. I know, not so common for boyish layouts, but I really think it goes perfectly with the mix of colors of the photo and the dp I used here.

I used a brick mask and then heat embossed it with UTEE. I also heat embossed the stampped title. I used two paper bags I've made myself (I will post a tutorial in a couple of days), an orange dotted fabric button (Purple Pumpkin's), another button and twe die-cut flowers. I also added the owls sticker, I find it very cute.

האתגר הראשון בבלוג של קיט החיקוי הוא להכין דף ללא ג'ורנלינג. מאחר שג'ורנלינג הוא נקודה חלשה מאד אצלי, האתגר הזה היה קליל ביותר עבורי. כל החומרים בדף הזה הם מקיט החיקוי.

התחלתי את הדף הזה מבנייה של השכבות מתחת לתמונה - דפים מדוגמים ושקיות הנייר עם הזיגזג שהכנתי בעצמי. התלבטתי על איזה דף רקע להציב את השכבות עם התמונה. לבן חלק נראה לי כבר שגרתי מידי, כחול היה חזק מידי מול הצבעים האחרים, קראפט לא התאים. בסוף, עם תעוזה מסויימת, ניסיתי גם עם הדף הורדרד הזה, ובינגו! התאים לי בול. הפסטליות של דף הרקע הייתה הרקע המתאים ביותר לחגיגה הצבעונית של השכבות והקישוטים. לתוספת עניין, עבדתי עם מסיכה של לבנים ואח"כ הבלטה חמה עם UTEE. הצילום, כרגיל, לא משקף את הטקסטורה, שיצאה עם גלזורה מבריקה. החותמת עם המשפט הייתה הכותרת המתאימה ביותר לדף שמוקדש לתמונה של הילדודס כשהיו קטנים, מזחקים גן שעשועים באגם חי ביראון.

March Counterfeit Kit Blog Hop - The Bright Side of Life

חודש חדש משמעו קיט חיקוי חדש. קיט ההשראה הפעם היה צבעוני  ועליז, ומלא בדגמים של זיגזגים. הלכתי בעקבות ההשראה של הצבעים העליזים והדוגמאות, והרכבתי את הקיט שלי, אם כי הוא קטן יותר מקיט ההשראה (שהוא עצמו פשוט ענק). הכנתי גם חלק מהקישוטים בעצמי - את 'הקשים מנייר' ואת שקיות הנייר עם דוגמת הזיגזגים. העליתי כבר פוסט הדרכה ל'קשים' ובקרוב מאד אעלה גם פוסט הדרכה לשקיות הנייר. הוספתי לקישוטים גם סטיקרים, סרטי וואשי טייפ, כפתורי בד מנוקדים (הם פשוט מקסימים!), כפתורי עץ ופלסטיק מהאוסף הפרטי, כפתורי מתכת עם כוכבים, וחיתוכי סול מנצנץ שנחתכו בעזרת הביג שוט.

דף ראשון מהקיט הזה כבר הכנתי,  לאתגר של About A Boy, ואעלה אותו מחר, ביחד עם הזוכים בבלוג קנדי שלי. ביום ראשון יעלה פוסט עם הדף שהכנתי מהקיט הזה לאתגר הראשון בבלוג של קיט החיקוי, אז יש הרבה סיבות נהדרות לחזור לכאן בימים הקרובים :))).

כל חודש יש מצטרפות נוספות מישראל לקיט החיקוי ואני שמחה על כך מאד. יש המון יתרונות לעבודה עם קיט, הוא חוסך המון זמן בהתלבטויות באיזה דפים ובאיזה קישוטים להשתמש. אפשר גם לבנות קיטים מצומצמים, ולא חייבים להכין קיט ענקי. אז מי  מצטרפת החודש?
