Never Say Never

Normally, I don't do purple. don't know exactly why, but I just don't do purple, especially if it's the predominant color, but then 'never say never' :)
When I saw this month's challenge at Black With 2, I was very attracted to the color combo of black/lime/purple, but thought it was too challenging for me. But I'm a great fan of challenges, especially if they make me go out of my comfort zone, so I couldn't just pass over this challenge :).
Here's the challenge at Black With 2:
I started by gathering some papers with the requested colors and found the right photo, and then I was carried away, and pulled  out flowers in different shades of purple, and some ribbons it matching colors (forgotten and unused stash). I also used my newest die from Die-Namites, Floral Corner. Thanks to Sandra from Studio Fourteen40, I played again with my sequins. I think sequins add so much airy feeling. love them.
This is what I came up with:
Edit: my lo was one of the Top 9 featured layout!
AND won GD spot at Black With 2!
Thank you!

One of the reasons I don't work with purple is that I can never get a proper photo of this color. the dark purple turns out blue, the lavender turns out white. The lovely girls at BW2 gave me some tips how to use my camera, and I think it worked out! I told you - never say never :).
You can see the lovely colors on the close-ups:

I would like to enter it also for the 'use black' challenge at The Crafty Scrapper.
Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog. I appreciate every comment you care to leave me.

Stary stary night...

A new sketch at Stuck?! plus a new inspiration challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge - what a perfect match :).
Here's Laura's sketch from Stuck?!:
We have two awesome sponsors: ScrapMuach and Creative Embellishments. You can't win unless you play..
The challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge was to scrap a favorite song from our teens, and I chose 'Vincent' by Don Mclean:
I took a photo of my boys, digging stars from a small pool,  in a darkness room. I was at Israel Museum on summer 2012, and there were lots of activities 'in darkness'.
The first lines of this wonderful song were perfect for this lo and for the inspiration board at Craft Hoarders Anonymous:
Like many scrappers, my hoarded item is papers. Of course I'm hoarding more things, like stickers, flowers, buttons etc., but my most hoarded item is papers. I buy them cause I love how they look, and then I find it so hard to use them, cuase I'll waste them  and I'll run out of them LOL. Some of the papers I used on this lo are hoarded for maybe 5 years, but some of them were bought more recently.
I also used a film strip chipboard from Creative Embellishments, and a die-cut stars with my Big Shot.
Here are close-ups on the details:

I'd love to see you play along with us, both on Stuck?! and on AFSC.
Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog, and I appreciate your comments.

Family - Special Agent at CSI - case file #99

Case file #99 is up at CSI, with a warm and beautiful inspiration photo. I'm a Special Agent (i.e. Guest Designer) at CSI this month. I was inspired by the curains to make my own 'curtain' by pleating a dp, and tying a ribbon, as if it holds the 'curtain' open.
I love this photo of my sons, so close one to each other and so happy.
Here's case file #99 at CSI:
My clues to solve the case were:
Scheme - all 5 colors used.
Evidence - butterflies, fabric (a lace trim and a ribbon), wood, silver metal, something puffy (the flowers), drape something (the trinket key), pleats, 6 something (6 letter title, 6 butterflies, 6 different dp).
Testimony- I was inspired by  'SixWords Memoir' for my sub title ("No other bond like this one"), which I've put on stripes. On the back of the page I wrote about how inpmortant and valuable are family ties, and how one should cherish and hold on them.
I really love how my 'curtain' came out, and how the butterflies are hanging on it.
Here are some close-ups on the details:

Thank you so much for taking the time and visiting my blog, and please leave a trail to your visit. I love to read your comments.

Lil Miss(ed) Podi

Here's my lo for 3 challenges: case file #94 at CSi, sketch #253 at Creative Scrappers, and Autumn mood board at Berry71bleu.
I took a photo of my female dog, I used to have long time ago. Her name was Podi, and she and her 'brother' were my fur babies, long before I had my own babies. The hidden ournaling is seen when you turn the photo turns and open the flap with the photo. I documented how I got them from dog shelter, how and why I named her Podi. I also wrote about how cheerful and friendly she was, and how sad I was at the time we had to part. Only the joy of having my eldest, who was born shortly before, eased the pain of the farewell.
My clues to solve the case were:
Scheme - all 5 colors.
Evidence - stack something (many many layers, and the stacked flower on the bottom), black background, silver metal (the heart camera metal clip), woodgrain.
Testimony - typewriter font and I wrote about my pet (but not from it's point of view). I also wrote about the sad ending of our being together.
Here are some close ups on the details:

Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog. I thank you for any comment you care to leave me.

Just Rolling Down

My take on September's challenge at White With 1. 3 photos of my boys, rolling down the hill at the Biblical Zoo.
For the background I used several materials & techniques, including: distress stain, modeling paste, masking, heat embossing, washi tapes, distress ink. I also used Purple Pumpkin's flair buttons. I've made the polaroid style frames and embossed it.
Here are some close-ups on the details:

Thank you for stopping by!

Totally - a lo

Here's a lo I've made for Prima July BAP, with the inspiration of #81 case file at CSI and the blue/yellow challenge at Inkido.
The photo is of my youngest, and it was taken about 2 years ago, when he graduated kindergarten. I just love this photo of him.
Here's Prima's sketch I worked with:
Some close-ups on the details:

All dp here are from several Prima's collections, and so are the flowers, flutter vine, bulb embellishment,  wooden buttons and words stickers. I also used IB chalk ink and IB distressing tool.
Apart from Prima's products, I also used Bazzill kraft cs,cheese cloth, twine, pale green sheer ribbon, AC Thickers. The date was made with my Dymo, and I used MS border punch.
My clues to solve the case were:
Scheme - all colors are here.
Evidence - twiggy branches, jute(cheesecloth)/twine, scalloped edges, circles (dotty dp, buttons), lightbulb accent.
Testimony - documented 6 awesome things about my boy, inspiration word (awesome).  On the back of the page, I wrote a few things about and to my boy: "You are so special and unique, and you have your own special way in this world. You've had your own way ever since you were born, and you keep going your own direction each and everyday ever since. You are really something and I love you so much. Mom."
And finally, here's Inkido's inspiration photo:
Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog. your comments are much appreciated.
Inkido.
