La Défense

CSI joined forces with Archi-Scraps for an inspiring challenge.

Here's the inspiration photo with the case file CC-1:

The minute I saw this case file, with the inspiration photo, I knew right away I will scrap with a photo from La Défense, on my last day at Paris, back on 1997. I took many photos there, but the best for this challenge was with this colorful stripes building, showing through the tree, with the blue sky above.

I used March sketch from Boys Rule, designed by Laura Whitaker:

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - all colors are here.

Evidence - stripes, decorative border, trees, architectural accents (the Eiffel Tower stamp), clouds (on the flair button), zig-zag.

Testimony - my jouranling is about the contrast between the architecture of the 'old' Paris, and the one on La Défense. I also used the IW see (sight) and walk: "After walking days in the streets of classic Paris, visiting old buildings with architecture from old centuries, I finally came, on my last day at Paris, to La Défense. The sight of the skyscrapers, with the futuristic architecture was an amazing sight. A perfect ending of a gorgeous tour in this city."

שילוב של 3 אתגרים בדף אחד - סקיצה ושני אתגרים של השראה, הפעם ממבנה ארכיטקטוני. בחרתי בתמונה שצילמתי ברובע לה דפאנס בפריז (תמונה אחת מיני רבות). ביקרתי שם לראשונה בשנת 1997, ביום האחרון לטיול, והמראה של גורדי השחקים עם העיצוב העתידני, היה מראה מדהים, במיוחד על רקע השוטטות המרובה ברחובות פריז הקלאסית, עם בנייניה מהמאות הקודמות.

הפעם דף עם עיצוב פשוט, ללא מדיומים שונים, רק דפים, חותמות, סרטים, פאנצ'ים וכפתורי מתכת.

Your Gentle Touch-March 15th reveal at Sketchabilities

Here's my lo for March 15th reveal at Sketchabilities, with this fab sketch by Karan:

Again, it's a mixed media style layout. For the background I worked with pp stripes, gesso, mists, stamps, sprinkles, masking with modeling paste and doodling.

I crumpled the dp, to give more depth to the page, and then inked the edges.

The photos are of my eldest, almost 2 years ago, gently touching and feeding the kangaroo at the Australian Zoo.
I would like to enter it to the contest at Paper Issues, for the Zoo theme.

דף חדש, כחלק מצוות העיצוב ב-Sketchabilities, שהתחיל למעשה בטעות... כשהכנתי את הרקע, התכוונתי להשתמש בו לדף אחר לגמרי. התוצאה שהחלה להיווצר מסגנון המיקסד מדיה, לא מצאה חן בעיני בשביל הפרוייקט שאותו רציתי לעשות, אז שמתי את הקארדסטוק עם השכבות שלו בצד. לא הייתי בטוחה אם אשתמש בו בכלל או שימצא דרכו לפח. והנה, כשבאתי להכין את המשימה הזאת, הוא התאים לי מאד, ואף הוספתי עליו עוד כמה שכבות של מדיומים שונים. את התוצאה הסופית הפעם אהבתי :).

יש פה שכבות של ג'סו, רצועות נייר, עוד ג'סו, החתמות, מיסטים, מסיכה עם משחת עיצוב, טפטופי דיו ודודלינג.

התמונות הן של הבכור, מלטף ומאכיל את הקנגרו בגן גורו, לפני כשנתיים.

דף חדש שהכנתי כחלק מצוות העיצוב בבלוג Sketchabilities. התמונה צולמה בתערוכת הדינוזאורים בנמל תל אביב בקיץ 2012.

השתמשתי בדפים וצ'יפבורדים של חברת Carta Bella, מקולקציה שנקראת Rough&Tumble.  הדפים של החברה הזאת עבים במיוחד, כמו אלו של MME (לפחות כמו שהיו בעבר) ושל PRIMA. ברקע עבדתי עם כל מיני טכניקות של מיקס מדיה - החתמות, השפרצות, מסיכות. 

בקרוב אעלה פוסט על 'איך עשיתי זאת', אז אתן מוזמנות לבדוק מידי פעם ולבוא להתרשם.

case file #94 at CSI

This another lo I've made for case file #94 at CSI, but with a totally different approach - more artsy and funky than my other take on this case file. I think it's great to see two different takes on the same color palette.

My clues to solve the case were:

Evidence - stack something (did I say anything about layers and layers? LOL), woodgrain, something crinckled (some of the dp).

Testimony - record a funny story. The photo are of my youngest, the drama king of our home. On a Tae Kwon Do test there were yellow cones, and they reminded my boy of a chinese hat. I had to take those photos... LOL My journaling says: "In the middle of the Tae Kwon Do stage test, the yellow cones reminded you of a chinese hat. Right away you put the cone on your head, and immediately your fingesr pulled your eys to look like chinese eyes. And there you were 'chinese babaingi' (it's a nickname he got once his eyes got swollen cause of a mosquito bite).

דף נוסף שהכנתי לאתגר ב-CSI, עם אותה פלטת צבעים, אבל בסגנון אחר לגמרי מהדף הקודם. התמונות הן של צעיר הבנים, מלך הדרמה בביתנו. במבחן דרגה בטאיקוונדו פוזרו קונוסים צהובים לצורך התרגילים, והם הזכירו לו כובע סיני. מייד הוא חבש אחד מהקונוסים על ראשו, ועם אצבעותיו משך את העיניים שיהיו מלוכסנות, והנה הוא סיני. אי אפשר היה לעמוד בקסמו השובבי :-).

King of the World - #99 Sketchabilities

This is my first DT lo for Sketchabilities and I'm very excited about being part of this wonderful DT.  The photos are of my eldest, wearing a king costume at 4Y. For me he was,and will ever be, 'King of the World'.

Here's the wonderful sketch:

I lowered it instead of the center look the sketch had, otherwise I've kept very true to the sketch. I love the monochromatic look of this lo and I think that the black touches here and there add a lot of dramatic look to the lo.

For the background I used distress inks, chalkboard mist, modeling paste with a stencil, stamps and washi tape. Here are some close-ups on the details:

case file #85 at CSI

A lo I've made for several challenges. The photo is of my youngest, and it was taken on our trip to the Dead Sea, a little more than a year ago.

I used August Inkido sketch:

My inspiration was from case file #85 at CSI:

The clues I used to solve the case were: 
Scheme - all 5 colors.
Eveidence - labels (the journaling tag, behind the photo), numbers (a stamp, nearby the title), something clear/transparent - hexagon stickers and dew drops, a string, a frame, decorative borders (the lace stripes).
Testimony - my journaling on the hidden tag, behind the photo  says: "Which way will you choose to go, sweet child of mine? will life lead you along the right path? do I give you proper guidance to make your way better? let your good heart lead you in finding the right path through life. love you always and forever. Mom".

דף חדש שהכנתי לכמה אתגרים, וביניהם גם אתגר ההשראה של מילים ביוצאות מהקווים. בחרתי את הרשימה של מיטל ומתוכה את המילים: עומס, שכבות, וינטאג'.

לרקע השתמשתי בהתזות של מיסטים בשני גוונים ובחותמת מסט החותמות הזה. ידידי הטוב ביג שוט עבד היטב גם בדף הזה, והשתמשתי בתבניות חיתוך של עלה מסולסל קטן, מפית תחרה, ושל תגיות של נסטביליטיז (לתגית הג'ורנלינג הנסתרת מאחורי התמונה). גאלתי מחשכת ההזנחה גם כמה סטיקרים שקופים בצורת משושה ואבני חן של קייזרקראפט שננזחו לאנחות זה מכבר.

יש פה גם הצצה למשהו שעליו אני עובדת בימים אלו. אני מקווה שאוכל להראות את היצירה במלואה בימים הקרובים.
