Summer 2012

We finally got some rain over here... so it's a good reason to scrap a summery photo, right? LOL. The photo was taken last August, at the end of our summer vactaion. The boys chased each other, falling into the water, and running again.

I used Glitz Design products (dp from Dance in the sunshine & Beautiful Dreamer; stkickers from Kismet collection);  I aslo used my new Big Shot with TH alternations to make the sign for the title. I painted it with gesso and then used TA glimmer mist, chalkboard mist and Ranger TH distress inks.  All papers were distressed with Prima distress tool.
I painted the rope with white acrylic paint and then rolled it into a circle under the photo.

הסוף סוף גשם (הקצרצר, יש לומר) הספיק כדי לעורר געגוע לקיץ... אז עבדתי עם תמונה שצולמה בשלהי אוגוסט האחרון, בסוף חופשת הקיץ שלנו. אחד הדברים שהילדים נהנים ממנו מאד זה לשחק תופסת בתוך הים. נופלים, בולעים מים מלוחים, משתעלים, בוכים, ומייד קמים וממשיכים לרוץ ולברוח.

מעבר לשימוש במכשיר ההשחתה של פרימה/אינגוילד בולם שרכשתי לאחרונה באיקס מיקס, השתמשתי גם בצעצוע החדש והמלהיב שקניתי שם - הביג שוט ובד היוטה. השלט עבר טיפול בגלימר מיסט משני סוגים ודיו דיסטרס בכמה גוונים, אחרי שנצבע בג'סו. העיגולים הוחתמו עם גלגל הפלסטיק של הדבק התלת-מימד, בשלולית שנוצרה מהתזת הגלימר מיסט על מחזיק השלט. החבל נצבע עם אקרילי לבן וליפפתי אותו לעיגול מתחת לתמונה.

T-REX

For challenge #3 at Counterfeit Kit challenge blog, we were asked to use negatives. I used some star shape negative cuts. Some of them I adhered to another dp and cut it once again, and some were left just with the frame shape, so the underneath papers will show.

I used September 14th sketch from Boys Rule,  (I really love Jenny Evans' sketches)  I only flipped it to the side:

I mixed papers from my current counterfeit kit and some scraps from previous counterfeit kits. I also used a recycled cloth tag (the big pale blue star) and my homemade errows mask.

The photo is of my boys at the Dinosaurs Age display. My youngest LOVES dinosaurs, and he knows all to them by their names and the period they lived. He was thrilled to be at that display (and he was over the moon at the end of our tour, cause we went to the chocolate bar, where he had too much chocolate...).

האתגר השלישי החודש בבלוג של קיט החיקוי הוא להשתמש בנגטיבים. השתמשתי בנגטיבים שנוצרו לי מחיתוך של כוכבים. את חלקם הדבקתי על נייר מדוגם וחתכתי, וחלקם השארתי רק עם המסגרת, כך שהשכבות שמתחת נשקפות מתוך ה"כוכב".

הכוכב בצבע תכלת הגדול הוא מיחזור של תגית בגד והשתמשתי גם במסיכה שהכנתי בעצמי בצורת חיצים.

אש קטנה ואני איתגרנו את עצמנו בשימוש משותף באותה סקיצה, תוך סיבוב שלה על צידה. תקפצו לראות את הפרשנות המקסימה שלה לסקיצה. אני תמיד נהנית לראות איך פרשנויות שונות ניתנו לאותה סקיצה בדיוק. נפלאות היצירתיות.

התמונה היא של הבנים בתערוכה של עידן הדינוזאורים שהייתה בנמל ת"א בקיץ. צעיר הבנים מאד אוהב דינוזאורים ויכול לנקוב בשמות כל אחד ואחד  מהם, תוך ציון התקופה בה חי... הוא היה נרגש ביותר בתערוכה. שמחתו קיפצה לשחקים כאשר בסיום הביקור בתערוכה קינחנו לנו בשוקולד בר של מקס ברנר, שם הוא זלל יותר מידי שוקולד...

Watch me grow

This month, CSI teamed with Once Upon A...Sketch, and they set 4 challenges, one every week, to solve CSI case along with OUAS sketch. A perfect match, isn't it? Here's the sketch and case file #36:

The earthy colors, the tone on tone, make the photo pop up. 

My clues to solve the case were:

Sketch from OUAS - check
Scheme - I used all 5 colors.Evidence - mesh, leaves, misting, fibers, tone on tone (it's hard to see, but the background is a dp, Crate Paper, with a very gentle pattern, tone on tone).
Testimony - I stamped a piece of cs with a script stamp, to make it look as an old letter, and on the other side wrote my jouranling, then I put it inside the jornaling pocket (a counterfeited item I've made for my September Counterfeit Kit).

My eldest is turning, day by day, from a boy to a young man. There are small changes, some of them are delightful, some aren't that pleasant, you know the drill. We all need to adjust to these changes. And this point of growing, I want him to remember that it is a phase in life, and that everything he feels is just normal, and my love for him lasts for ever. In my journaling, I documented the small changes, and the way I feel about him.

הפעם האתגר ב-CSI היה משולב עם סקיצה  מ-OUAS, ועם צבעי אדמה. שילוב הצבעים הזה מקפיץ את התמונה בה בחרתי, של הבכור בשפת הים. מיום ליום, בשינויים קטנים אך מורגשים, הוא הופך  מילד לנער. הג'ורנלינג שלי מתעד את השינויים הללו. כתבתי אותו על פיסת קארדסטוק, שאת צידה השני החתמתי בחותמת של כתב יד, כדי לשוות מראה של מכתב ישן, ואז הכנסתי אותו בתוך כיס הג'ורנלינג (שהוא חיקוי שהכנתי במסגרת קיט החיקוי של החודש הזה).

את העיגול יצרתי משילוב של חבל שנצבע בשני צבעים אקריליים שונים, לופף לעיגול ושזרתי בו סרט עלים. 

כדי לתת קצת קונטרסט לצבעים הכתומים, ולהדגיש את התמונה, שמתי מאטינג של קארדסטוק חום כהה, שעבר הבלטה בקאטלבג, ואת ההבלטה שייפתי כדי לחשוף את הליבה הלבנה כך שהדוגמא המובלטת מודגשת (לאתגר האמבוסינג של יוצאות מהקווים).

קארדסטוק הבסיס הוא דף מדוגם, עם דוגמא מאד עדינה, בגוון טיפונת כהה מהרקע. עליו ריססתי גלימר מיסט בשני צבעים, ועוד ריסוס דרך מסיכה של 'כוורת'. על המסיכה עברתי אח"כ עם דיו דיסטרס, בהסטה קלה, כך שנוצרה דוגמא כפולה, בשני גוונים קרובים. 

על השולחן היתה לי שארית של דף מדוגם של MME, ממנה חתכתי פרחים כחולים לדף קודם. יתרת הפרחים היו בדיוק בגוונים המתאימים לאתגר הנוכחי, אז חתכתי בעדינות גם את הפרחים הללו והוספתי לדף, ביחד עם כמה פרחי תחרה של פרימה.

David's Fall - a lo

Here's my take on #2 mini challenge at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog, which is PAINT. One of my fave technique is using acrylic paint for stamping, so I was happy to use it on this lo.

The photos are from a trip we had a couple of months ago to a magical place called "David's Fall".   It's a fall in the middle of Yehuda Desert, and the stream goes straight to the Dead Sea. We had a wonderful trip then, when we also climbed to the top of the fall. It was quite a challenging trip, but really worthwhile.

I used #213 sketch from Creative Scrappers:

I usded my June Counterfeit Kit for this lo - the kraft cs is Jillibean Soup and the dp, stickers and chipboards - are all Echo Park This&That Charming collection.

I used MME acrylic stapm (also in my CKC kit) with white acrylic paint on the right bottom corner, to mimic the water going down the fall, and added on the stamping chipboard, buttons, twine and brads for the water splashes.

דף חדש עם קיט החיקוי, לאתגר של "צבע", בבלוג של Counterfeit Kit Challenge. מאחר שאחת מהטכניקות האהובות עלי היא החתמה עם צבע אקרילי, שמחתי מאד לאתגר הזה.

כל החומרים בדף הזה הם מקיט החיקוי שלי של חודש יוני, שמבוסס בעיקרו על קולקציה של Echo Park שנקראת This&That Charming. הניירות המדוגמים שנבחרו תואמים את הצבעים שבתמונות, וכך גם הקישוטים (סטיקרים, צ'יפבורדים, כפתורים וסיכות מתפצלות).

התמונות צולמו ביום העצמאות האחרון, בטיול שעשינו לנחל דוד. המראה של המפל הגדול' שנשפך מקירות המדבר אל תוך הבריכה, נראה לי קסום בכל פעם שאני מגיעה לשם. בטיול הזה לא הסתפקנו במסלול המעגלי הקצר של המפל התחתון, והעזנו להמשיך במסלול של מיטיבי לכת, ולטפס במעלה ההר, לראש המפל. היה בהחלט קשה (מיטיבי לכת, לא?), אבל שווה כל שניה של קושי בטיפוס. המראה שנשקף מלמעלה פשוט מרהיב. הדף הזה הוא אמנם על החלק התחתון של המפל, אבל מובטחים גם דפים עם תמונות מהפסגה :).

Our first challenge this month at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog is a theme challenge - Travel inspiration.

Well, that's an easy one for me, since we just LOVE hiking :)

This is my #1 layout with my June counterfeit kit. I used #6 sketch from Scrap Africa:

I love the earthly tones of this lo, which go perfectly with theme and the photo. 

The photo is of me and my eldest, when he was about 9 months old. And no, I don't carry him on my back on our trips anymore....LOL.

I used two masks (Crafters Workshop), a homemade journaling tag, and stickers (Echo Park This & That Charming collection). I was very frugal, not only using the border sticker itself, but also the negeative (the strips from both sides of the photo).

האתגר הראשון החודש בבלוג של קיט החיקוי, Counterfeit Challenge Kit blog, הוא אתגר נושא - נסיעות/טיולים. זה אתגר קלי קלות בשבילי מאחר שאנחנו מאד אוהבים לטייל :).

התמונה היא של בכורי ושלי, כשהיא כבן 9 חודשים, יושב בתוך מנשא גב על הגב שלי בטיול שלנו עם חברים בחולות גבעת אולגה.

בדף הזה הייתי חסכונית ביותר :), לא רק שהשתמשתי בסטיקרים עצמם, אלא גם בנגטיב שלהם, כרצועות משני צידי התמונה. בפולניה אנחנו לא זורקים כלום, נכון? תמיד ימצא שימוש לשאריות :).

Watch Out, Alligators! - a lo

This is my take on our 1st April's challenge at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog, which is a sketch challenge. We were given #28 sketch at Pretty Little Studio:

My photos were too large, so I used only 2 photos and one journaling block, rather than 4 blocks on the original sketch. I also replaced the semicircles banner with a BG die-cut, where I stamped (a Prickley Pair Rubber Stamp) and added a few buttons. The journaling stamp is Autumn Leaves. All the supplies are from my counterfeit kit, and I only added the corrugated cardboard as matting of the photos. I added it to go along with the boyish look and theme and as a contrast to the kind of 'girly' dp and colors of the whole page.

Actually, this is the 1st lo I've made with my counterfeit kit, and my biggest challenge with this kit was to use all those pink/soft colors dp with photos of my very energetic boys.  After making a few layouts with my kit, I can say that I was able to get out of my comfort zone, and I really coped with this challenge.  I even like how this lo turned out... LOL

You can make it big or small as you like. you can even make just a page kit. Challenge your self to create your own counterfeit kit from  your own supplies. האתגר הראשון בבלוג של Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog הוא אתגר סקיצה. אהבתי את הפשטות של הסקיצה הזאת, והתאמתי אותה לתמונות שלי, ולכן יש בה רק שתי תמונות ובלוק ג'ורנלינג אחד.  למעשה זה היה הדף הראשון שהכנתי מקיט החיקוי שלי, ומבחינתי האתגר הגדול בקיט הזה היה להשתמש בדפים שהם  יותר 'של בנות' - פרחוניים ובצבעי פסטל הכוללים ורוד, עם תמונות של שתי פצצות האנרגיה הגבריות שיש לי בבית :))). כדי למתן במעט את ה'נשיות' של הדפים והצבעים, הוספתי גם קרטון גלי. אני אוהבת את התוצאה.

You & Me - White with 1

The challenge at White With 1 for March is 'white+kraft+layering, and this is my lo for this challenge. The photo is of my youngest and me, about 2 years ago, at Timna Valey.

Everything on this lo is from my counterfeit kit, but this lo is totally different from the othe 5 I've made from this kit.

I did the chevron stamping according to Madeline's wonderful tutorial.

The title is Imaginarium Design chipboard, I used gesso, acrylic paint and stamping.

דף נוסף, שישי במספר, מחומרים של קיט החיקוי, אלא שהפעם הסגנון שונה לחלוטין. הסגנון השונה הוא פרי האתגר עבורו הכנתי את הדף הזה - אתגר של לבן + צבע אחד בלבד נוסף + שכבות.

ההחתמה על דף הקראפט נעשתה עם חותמת מאולתרת שהוכנה מקרטון גלי, בהתאם להדרכה הנפלאה הזאת.

הכותרת היא צ'יפבורד אותו צבעתי בג'סו, אח"כ בצבע אקרילי ובסוף החתמתי בחותמת עם כיתוב.

What Are You Thinking About? - lo

A lo with a photo of my eldest, on one of our travels last December.  I've made it with lilybeedesign pp - from Jingle collection (the basis cs) and Harvest Market (the dotted dp  and the brackets shapes above and under). I love it when you can mix and match dp from different collections, that go together perfectly.

I also used dark blue cs (Canson) for the matting, baker's twine, buttons and acrylic paint. The alphas are Echo Park and My Little Shoebox; MS border punch; TH distress ink (vintage photo).

דף קיצי נוסף (הכל בגלל שאני עובדת על מיני אלבום של חופשת הקיץ האחרונה שלנו...). ההשראה לצבעים באה מפלטת הצבעים של The Color Room. 

הטכניקות והחומרים בהם השתמשתי - קריעה, החתמה של צבע אקרילי על ניילון פצפצים, צביעה עם צבע אקרילי על נייר הקראפט, מאטינג כפול לתמונות, דיסטרסינג, פרח מלשוניות של פחיות שתיה (הנה ההדרכה שכתבתי), כפתורים, עננים גזורים ביד חופשית מלבד, תגית של בגד, אותיות 'תוצרת הארץ' אותן תחמתי עם עט שחור, גזירת אלמנטים מדפים מדוגמים של קיט 'זרעי קיץ' של צרויה אילן והדבקתם עם דבק תלת-מימד. הדפים מהקיט של 'זרעי קיץ' היו בול בגוונים של פלטת הצבעים, עם שילוב של חום/קרם, תכלת ולבן. 

Snow - lo

We hardly have snow in Israel, and usually the great amount of it is in one place - Hermon Mt. in the north part of Israel. We went there almost 5 years ago, and the photo is of my eldest infront of the huge snowman overthere.

For this lo I was inspired by the color palette #87 The ColorRoom:

And sketch  #185 Creaitive Scrappers:

The cream roses stripe on the bottom is a paper napkin I have for ages and I ironed it on the white AC cs. Since I used BG product (the alphas stickers of the title, from Oh, Baby Boy collection), I'm entering it to the 'lost and found' challenge at BasicGrey. Here's a close-up on the roses strip:

I used Imaginarium chipoard  (circle border), which I painted in silver acrylic paint and then spread some stickles to make it shine. I inserted a pale blue lace inside the border:

The wood look frame was made by me from a white cs, colored with two inks:

The stamps are Unity (the branch) and HeroArt (the birdie). doily, silver flourishes, cream flowers,silver flowers, tag - are all from my stash (most of them from a local craft store).

נכון שעם גל הקור שפקד אותנו מתאים להכין דף על שלג? הילדים שלי מייחלים שיגיע אלינו קצת שלג (אם אפשר - הרבה, כדי שלא יהיה בית ספר ויוכלו להישאר בבית...). לפני כמעט 5 שנים, עת עוד התגוררנו בצפון, נסענו לטיול לחרמון, לראות ולחוש את השלג. בתמונה - הבכור ליד פסל האישלג בפתח האתר.

האתר של The Color Room בהחלט מותח את הגבולות היצירתיים שלי, עם שילובי צבעים שלעיתים אינם שגרתיים עבורי. דווקא בשילוב דומה לזה הנוכחי השתמשתי פעם בעבר, ועדיין זה איננו שילוב שכיח אצלי.

רצועת השושנים הבהירות נעשתה ע"י גיהוץ חלק של מפית ישנה על הקארדסטוק. את הבורדר של העיגולים צבעתי בצבע אקרילי כסוף ומעל פיזרתי סטיקלס למראה נוצץ. המסגרת של התמונה, בצורה של קופסת צללים, הוכנה על ידי, ונצבעה בשני צבעים של דיו, כך שהתקבל מראה של עץ משוייף/מיושן.

המסגרת, וכן חותמת הציפור - בצבע אקרילי. ההחתמה של הענף - דיו דיסטרס.
