The Way They Were - Layout

This lo is about a young couple, my dear parents. The photo was taken a short period after they got married, and as my mom says: before she even conceived my eldest sister...
My dear Dad had passed 13 years ago and I miss him a lot. My kids know him only by stories and photos.
I think this particular photo is so so romantic. I love the way my dad looks at my mom, and the gentle touch between them. I printed the photos in sepia colors, and in 2 different sizes. I've put the small ones from both sides of the larger, each with only one of my parents, so it symbolizes the fact that a couple is made out of two individuals.

I love the chain of flowers and buttons around the photos, as if it embraces them. It also goes nicely with the frame made of doily and the circular title, that says in Hebrew: "that's how it all begun"

The chipboard in the lower part was inked on the edges with distress ink, the same one I used for all the distressing over the lo - tea dye. The sentiment is rub-ons and it states the place & date the photo was taken.

Take a look at these two lovely flowers: both are selfmade. The larger was made out of a lace ribbon, and the smaller was made out of leftover stripes of this lo's dp - not throwing anything...

Speaking of no throwing anything, the title chipboard was made out of used cereal box and the letters were inked with distress ink. Recycling, isn't it?...

Did you notice the cute little rose on the corner? it was made with mask technique. I love how it came out.

As for the challenges, I'm entering this lo to the following:
music inpiration - "just the two of us" - #127 scraping the music
new beginings  - #40 die cuts dreams (mine is the begining of my family)
masking - scrap & stamp
eyelet - #22 kraftin' kimmie stamp (on the tag in the right corner)
circles - #12 pixie cottage challenge
layout shopping list - buttons, b&w photos, circles, patterned papar background, large monogram - #12 craftastic
vintage - one stitch at a time; #12 lots to do
inspiration - #81 etsy inspired challenge - the colors of this pouch are so vintage look, just like the colors of my lo
inspirational coffee - SSHP24 (the colors of this lo are those of coffee, cream etc.)
favorite technique - #16 fab'n'funky (mine is distressing and self made emballisments
make your own flowers - #31 la-la land (not for the prize... just having fun with your challenge)
mom's the word - #15 pixie dust studio

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to pop over tomorrow - I'll post my mini blog candy...
