A blue flying happy birthday

Edit: This card won Top 3 on Stampin Vacation!
This blue card is for a friend who LOVES blue (also my youngest loves blue...), and
I did paper piecing for the bird image , which is one of the NEW RELEASE that Trish put on Simple Doodles (this lovebird is simply adorable!).
Although the card is all blue, I find it warm wishing. I feel that the image, along with the flower and the butterflies , are so cheerful and loving.

Tweetheart vintage sneak peak - a real CELEBRATION!

This week on 365 cards, Pam is challenging us with a triple alphabet challenges. each day she pick a letter, and ask for 3 specific things starting with that letter. only sometimes she really needs to stretch to match the letter to whatever came to her head that moment... (and no, Pam, emboss for B, is not "stretch a little", it is definitely stretch a lot... LOL).
On to what is the challenge for today - D, the three D (no, no dimensional, which was the perfect choise to represent D, only Pam had to make it hard on us) - dark brown, diamonds & distressing. Okay, I know diamonds are the girl's best friend, but this dard brown can be very distressin... LOL. Luckily I just got Trish's new comming release on Simple Doodles, and that cheered me up :). Tomorrow on Simple Doodles Trish will bring some new fab digi stamp, and believe me - you don't want to miss it, so make sure to pop over Simple doodles for the new release. and when she gets to 50 followers, Trish will give a lovely freebie, so all you need to do is become a flollwer!
The diamond shape pp was computer generated, the sentiment is a new dige at simple doodles. I took the image from here (btw, great blog! and so many vintage stuff, and free!), and I distressed the edges and inked it with gold ink, so it's even more old looking. then I adhered it on a lace doily, that was also inked with red and brown inks (yes, I kind of in love with these doily, so I use it a lot :)). the butterfly is also from the grafics fairy, and I cut it in two sizes, inked with chocolate color ink, I adhered red pearls and used some gold glitter for the edges. isn't it just adorable?
The paper flower on the right lower corner was made of polka left over pp & another purple pp leftover (I decided to enlarge my flower stuff by using all those scraps leftovers).
the sentiment is one of the new release on simple doodles, and I embossed it and inked with brown ink.
and it goes for the following challenges:

It's all about Purple

Well, I said I had too much pink lately and I needed a break from all this pink/red around, so here is my purple/lavender card.
I distressed the floral pp with scissors and inked the edges with indigo ink. the flower was made of used dryer sheet, and for the basis I used lace doily, and added purple pearls around. the cs is polka dots I made my self on the pc.

So Pretty in Pink

The challenge for today on 365 cards was "The 3-p's", i.e. : pink, paisley & princess. I made this card for the birthday of a 4 year lovely girl, and I hope she'll love it.
The paisley dp is a freebie from mygrafico , that I printed on a transparency sheet. I distressed a little the edges of the pink cs and then inked it. the flowers were made of two different polka dots pp, with lots of layers. I love the flower shape buttons, and I have them in many colors.
The image is a decoupage from a birthday napkin (recycling again :)), and I put some gold glitter on it while the glue was still wet. I adhered the image and the flowers with foam double-sided scotch, and the glittery sentiment is also a foam stickers (and it is the girl name in hebrew)
I do love pink, but this card is so so pinky LOL, I think I'll have to make a totally different color next time...
and it goes for the following challenges:
recycle - #5 inspire me
dimension - totally gorjuss
polka dots, bow & pink - #51 the pink elephant
buttons, bow, riboon & lace - #27 incy wincy

A Vintage Love Dream

It looks as if love & spring is in the air all over blogland...
I loved this sketch Itzuvit brought us (along with an Israeli fride :)), and naturally I used alot of pink on this card (well, Itzuvit asked for it LOL). I LOVE this color combo - all shades of pink and brown, with a little green touch.
I liked the contradiction between the vintage look of the background & the embellishments and the childish look of the image.
The big flower on the lower right corner was made of layers of note sheet, cut with zig-zag scissors, and on top I adhered ribbon flower with organza riboon underneath. I added golden stickles on the petals and the flower. the small red & cream flowers are ribbon flowers I have for a long time and I was so pleased to use them now.
The digi image was colored with watercolor pencils and I added an old look frame around it. then I adhered it on a lace doily that was inked with brown ink to give it the old look. the pink hearts are digi stamp (freebie on simple doodles, go there and grab some, and use it for the new challenge starting today - CELEBRATION , I'm one of the GDT over there and I'd LOVE to see you join us in this fun challenge!), and the red hearts were punched.
The golden brown ribbon on the upper left corner is a gift I got from my dear older sister (than you, sister!), and I added lace ribbon, glitter flower sticker, pearls and rhinestones.
The flowers give the card a spring and flourish feeling, along with the vintage look. and when you take spring with love, you sure get a big celebration!
and it goes for all these challenges:
sketch + pink + bling - #22 doodle palace
celebration - #9 simple doodles
musical monday - day 324 on 365 cards (the inspiration was the dream song from Cinderella, and I took the love theme of this movie)
love & kisses - #64 one stop craft
lots of layers - #87 a spoon full of sugar
color me wonderful - #26 incy wincy designs
hearts & flowers - week #36 allsorts
hearts - cbc83
red heart challenge - caardvarks
recipe (brown, pink, lace, flower) - #2 paper sundaes
a touch of green - #23 stampin' sisters in christ (with the flowers and the boy's shirt).
inspiration - valentine princess at sweetie pie tutus - #72 etsyinspired
monochromatic - #21 just buggin
anything that sparkles - #8 your next stamp
sketch - #15 delightful sketches; #42 digital tuesday (with some liberty on the sketch).
flower & ribbon - cute daisy may
dimension - totally gorjuss
create a scene - #45 ooh-la-la; fttc50
warm wishes & more challenges - #3 pile it on (mine is the warm colors)
favorite color combo & digi - #22 bee crafty
Edit: I was so busy uploading this post to all these challenges (I think it goes for 41 challenges...), so I forgot my manners.. LOl
so excuse me for my misconduct and thank you all for taking the time to look at my card. furthermore I appreciate your comments.
The whether got so cold here, in a few hours, so I wish you all a warm evening/night/morning - have a lovely day and keep warm and safe wherever you are.

Happy Glittery Birthday Celebration

This card is for my GDT on Simple Doodles next challenge, which is CELEBRATION! the challenge starting tomorrow, but Trish said it's okay to post the card a day before. :)
It also goes for day 326 challenge on 365 cards , a recipe challeng, and this time Pam's recipe was:
"Here are the ingredients:
4.25x5.5 card
4x4 piece of patterned paper
2x2 piece of patterned paper
3 buttons
1 ribbon
sentiment"
I used the gift digi stamp (a freebie from simple doodles, you just have to go there, Trish has such a gorgeous digi, some of them are free) on the small pp, colored it a little with sakura gold gel pen and with gold stickles to give some dimension. I put some glue on the buttons and covered them with gold glitter. the sentiment is a stamp and I overwrite with the sakura gold gel pen. the ribbon is also a gold one, and I hadn't much of it so I tied it into a little bow.
The cs and the pp are all leftovers, and so is the ribbon.
And it goes for this chalenges:
celebration - #9 simple doodles (from Jan. 24th)
dimension - totally gorjuss
lets go digi - #47 the corrosive
left overs - tuesday taggers
use your stash - scrap & stamp saturday
Thank you for stopping by and looking at my card.
Keep warm wherever you are....

A dryer sheet flowers - tutorial

How about having such lovely flowers on your projects?
you should know by now that I'm an addict of selfmade flowers, especially 'no tools' flowers. and if I make them out of real scraps or recycle something, then I'm more than pleased. I made these flowers out of used dryer sheet. the texture of the used sheets gives the flower a special look and touch, and also some smell...:)
I received lovely comments on my dryer sheet flowers, that I used in this card, so I'm posting this tutorial on how to make those flowers. It's not that I 've done something nobody have done before, but just for those of you who never crossed this technique and wish to know it & use it.
You'll need:
used dryer sheet
ink (whatever color you wish. I love to take two different colors) adhesive
scissors (I use nails scissors)
sponge
embellishments (buttons, rhinestones, flowers, etc.)
instructions:
fold the dryer sheet into 4.

draw 2 sizes of circles

cut the circles (you can also cut the circles without first drawing - in free hand. it doesn't matter if the cutting is not perfect).
You should have 8 circles - 4 of each size.
Ink the circles with the sponge (I used blue & green on this flower)
you may crumple the circles.

adhere the circles one on top of the other.
decorate with a rhinestone
or with a button

or with a bought flower (fabric, plastic, felt - anything you wish), and stickles on the petals.

And that's it! so simple and so elegant.
I hope you find this tutorial helpful for you, and I would love & appreciate your
comments on this post.
I would also love to see your projects using this technique, so link to your project, and I promise to pop and take a look (and leave a comment...)

You are no longer "dirty something"... Happy Birthday

This was the sketch for day 323 on 365 cards, and I LOVE it! it gave my the opportunity to make this great folding again.
I made the flowers out of used drier sheets (did I hear recycle or what?), that I cut in circles and inked with 'green tea leaves' ink and 'big sky blue' ink, and put them one on top of the other, and than adhered the cream flowers.
edit: here is a tutorial how to make those flowers
I added silver stickers inside & outside and silver stickles to the flowers. The sentiment is a stamp I got as a rak and I colored it with a white pen, and the "40" no. is a rub-on, also colored with a white pen.
and don't get me wrong because of the flowers - this card was made for a man...
and it goes for the following challenges:
super sketchy sunday - day 323 at 365 cards.
shaped cards - #21 la-la land
fancy edges or corners - #63 one stop craft;
L is for layering - abc (the fnacy fold; the flowers)
3 different textures - #50 crafty creations (organza ribbon, stickles, drier sheets flower, the cream flower, stickers)
glitter - #82 creative belli;
2 different types of bling - humble pie (glitter on the flowers, shiny silver stickers, organza ribbon).
inspiration - #71 etsyinspired - I was inspired by the Dahlia soap
no stamped images - creataliciouschallenges
recycle - #31 die cuts dreams (the drier sheets turned into lovely flowers...); #5 inspire me

Noah's Ark- a family project

OKAY, I know, this is definitely not a card... LOL, and not very artistic
but it sure is crazy 8....
My oldest kid had to make Noah's Ark project for school, and we made this one, the three of us.
just to make sure about the colors... what have we got here?
the rainbow - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. and we add brown/craft, white and a touch of black. Crazy or not? LOL
so this project goes for these challenges:
anything but a card - #22 kaboodle doodles
three D project - OCC
Thanks for stopping by and looking at our family project. I hope it made you smile, just as much as it made me...
