I'm so happy to tell you that I'm on the DT of Stuck?! sketches! I was very honored and thrilled to join this wonderful sketch challenge blog and to be part of this amazingly talented group of scrappers.

הצטרפתי לצוות עיצוב בבלוג (נוסף) של סקיצות - Stuck?! Sketches, והדף הזה הוא הדף שהכנתי לבקשת ההצטרפות.

הסקיצה הייתה די נקיה ופשוטה, ורציתי 'להקפיץ' את העיצוב, אז עבדתי קצת עם מיקסד מדיה - distress stain אדום, שיצא בהתחלה חזק מידי לטעמי, אז ניגבתי אותו עם מגבון כדי לטשטש, ועליו הוספתי distress stain לבן. כדי עוד יותר לטשטש את האפקט האדום הבוהק, השתמשתי ברשת לבנה. הוספתי גם השפרצות של מיסטים שונים - מר יואי אפור ועוד מר יואי כחלחל  וגב' לינדי בכחול, והחתמה עם חותמת רקע של TH. מרבית הדפים המדוגמים הם מסטאק חדש, סופר דופר עבור עיצוב לגברברים שבחבורה - Rough&Tumble, ועוד תראו הרבה ממנו אצלי בעתיד. עוד כוכבים שנחתכו בביג שוס, 

וכמובן אי אפשר בלי הפאייטים הבלתי נמנעים והבלתי נגמרים :).

Practicly Perfect in every Way - GD at 1~2~3 Get Scrappy

When Melina asked me to be a Guest Designer for October's challenge at 1~2~3 Get Scrappy, I was very honored and thrilled. The challenge board is so much fun, and there are so many ways to scrap with it. Here's the board:

I took the vertical row on the right - stitching, the color orange and more than 3 different patterned papers. I used 9 different pattened papers - the background, in the stitched circles, the fan flower and the 'button' on top of that flower.

The photo is of my eldest, resting a little from sweaming with his brother and cousins, on a vacation we had in Eilat.

הוזמנתי להיות מעצבת אורחת בבלוג Get Scrappy 1~2~3 (הרעיון הוא של לוח איקס מיקס, ממנו צריך לבחור שורה/טור - לאורך או לרוחב או באלכסון, ולהכין דף עם האלמנטים שבשורה שבחרתן).

לאחרונה יצא לי לעצב דפים עם מיקסד מדיה ו/או מרובי שכבות ואלמנטים. הפעם בחרתי, כגיוון, להכין דף עם מראה נו"פ. חתכתי בדף הרקע כמה עיגולים בגדלים שונים,  ומסביב תפרתי עם חוט רקמה. מתחת לעיגולים החתוכים הדבקתי ניירות מדוגמים עליזים (כולם, אגב, שאריות). עוד פרח אקורדיון מעוטר בפרפר מפונצ'ץ', סטיקר לכותרת וזהו.

התמונה היא של הבכור, תופס קצת שלווה ומנוחה אחרי שחייה וכיופים בים האדום עם אחיו ובני הדוד.

So Cool! - GD for Scrap Africa

I was very thrilled when my lo 'Strike a Pose' lo was chosen as one of the Top at Scrap Africa  for their 'Blue/Green and White challenge , and I was very honored when Denise asked me to be their Guest Designer for October 1st challenge.

I was asked to make a lo based on this sketch from Page Maps:

The photo is of my youngest, about 18 months ago, at the beach. 

For the background I used CW bricks mask with modeling paste and then I maked the 'bricks' with another CW circles mask, to mimic the pebbles in the photo. I used some lace, zig-zag trim, star and film strip die-cut (both Sizzix TH Alternations). I also used some gauze, and  placed some metal embellishments on it, as if you've found a treasure comming out of the sea.

זכיתי במקום ראשון בבלוג של Scrap Africa באתגר של כחול/ירוק ולבן, עם הדף הזה, והוזמנתי להיות מעצבת אורחת שלהם החודש, עם אתגר סקיצה.

עבדתי עם תמונה של צעיר הבנים בחוף הים, שצולמה לפני כשנה וחצי. הרקע מורכב ממסיכה של לבנים עם משחת עיצוב, ולאחר שהמשחה התייבשה, החתמתי אותה עם מסיכה נוספת של עיגולים, כדי לדמות את חלוקי האבן שעל חוף הים. השתמשתי בתחרה ובסרט זיג-זג ובחיתוך של סרט צילום שנעשה עם ידידי הביג שוט. הוספתי גם תחבושת עליה מיקמתי כמה קישוטי מתכת, כאילו מצאת אוצר שנפלט מבין גלי הים.

For my take, I slightly moved the photo with it's background to the side, but otherwise kept my lo very close to the origin sketch.

The photo is of my elsdest, about 1.5 year ago, when he was 10.

I used Basic Grey kraft cs. Distress stain, Mr. Huey's white mist and embossed stamping (TH stamp) were used for the background.  For the matting, I used some Echo Park pp, cork scraps and red corrugated paper. My embellies include homemade blackboard style tags, stars (die-cut, punched, stickers and  a Purple Pumpkin's flair button).

דף שהכנתי כחלק מצוות העיצוב ב-Sketchabilities. הזזתי את התמונה והרקע שלה מהמרכז לצד, כדי להתאים את העיצוב לתמונה ולשמור על איזון בין המרכיבים. כרקע השפרצתי מר יואי לבן והחתמתי עם דיו אמבוסינג חותמת עיגולים והבלטתי עם אבקת אמבוזינג לבנה. כרקע לתמונה צבעתי עם צבע דיסטרס והוספתי גם כמה תגיות סטייל לוח גיר שהכנתי בעצמי. להשלמת העיצוב, הוספתי קישוטי כוכבים מסוגים שונים - סטיקרים, תבנית חיתוך, פאנצ'ים וכפתור פלייר.

התמונה היא של הבכור, בטיול בנחל עיון לפני כשנה וחצי, כשהיה בן 10.

אז מה דעתכן על הסקיצה והפרשנות שלי? אשמח לקרוא תגובות וגם לראות השתתפות ישראלית באתגר הסקיצה.

the Most Wanted list at CSI

A new lo I've made with September sketch challenge at My Mind's Eye, and case file #91 at CSI.

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - all colors used (the khaki green doesn't show well in the photos, with a very bright sunny day when I took the photos, but that's the color of the leaves under the big flower, and of the flat flower under the small coral flower).
Evidence - leaves, wet medium (modeling paste, distress stains), stripes, border punch, tearing.
Testimony -IW - Enjoy. in my jouranling I documented one of our family traditions of enjoying a soft icecream in a certain place where we go on almost every trip we take to the north. This icecream is loved by all of us (which is not that obvious, since my eldest doesn't like icecream at all...). It's a family tradition since my childhood, and we still keep it :).
Both the big flower and the smaller one are handmade, and I used two distress stain to get the right color, to match the pink/red coral hue of the MME dp and the one that's in the challenge.
I did some mix&match of MME products from different collections: Miss Caroline, Lost&Found 2, Indie Chic, Lost&Found 3, Find Your Wings and Fly (okay, I admit - I'm a big hoarder). I also used Prima mask with modeling paste, MS lace border punch and AC Thickers.

דף שהכנתי לאתגר משולב ב-CSI וסקיצה חודשית של My Mind's Eye. השתמשתי במוצרים מקולקציות שונות של MME (חלקם כבר די ישנים, אבל עדיין מאד אהובים עלי). עם משחת עיצוב ומסכה של פרימה יצרתי קצת מסגרת מתחת לכל השכבות. חלק מהקישוטים הם גזירה עדינה של אלמנטים מדפים של MME. הפרחים, גם הגדול וגם הקטן, הם הפעם מתוצרת עצמית. הגעתי לגוון שלהם ע"י ערבוב של שני גוונים של distress stain.

תזכורת קטנה - מחר אני אעלה דף שהכנתי כחלק מצוות העיצוב ב-Sketchabilities, ואתן מוזמנות לחזור ולבקר מחר ולראות את הדף שהכנתי.

Ready, Set, Go!

This week's case file at CSI had bold colors, with a whimsical image for inspiration. 

Here's case file #90:

I used Sept 15th sketch from Stuck?!:

The photos are of my youngest, getting ready to eat chocolate from a giant syringe at The Chocolate Bar, where we went for his birthday.

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - I used all 5 colors. by playing with the stamping and re-stamping the polka dots with distress ink (spiced marmalade), I managed to reach the two colors of orange. kind of ombre effect. I like it.

Eveidence - tie something, polka dots, kind of white space (at first I thought of a more 'white space' design, but finally I used 2 photos, so with the matting, it took more space on my page), 2 different alphabets, triangles, something transparent (vellum as photo matting and dew drops).

Testimony - I wrote my journaling on the hidden tag on a diary form, and tosd the story of going to the Chocolate Bar for my son's birthday, how excited he was about it, what he ordered and 5 fun facts about his endless love for chocolate.

דף שהכנתי לאתגר המשולב ב-CSI, והשתמשתי בסקיצה מ-Stuck?!. התמונות הן מהביקור הראשון (אך בהחלט לא האחרון...) שלנו בשוקולד בר של מקס ברנר בנמל ת"א, לכבוד יום ההולדת של צעיר הבנים לפני כשנה וחצי. הוא כל כך התרגש ושמח, והזמין לעצמו כמויות של מתוקים, כשגולת הכותרת הייתה מזרק שוקולד ענקי (את ההתנסות השניה שלו עם מזרק השוקולד (המשעשעת ביותר), תעדתי גם במיני אלבום על חופשת הקיץ של 2012 וגם בדף אחר).

Edit: Top 5 at ScrapFriends

This is a lo I've made for two challenges. One is for Berry7Bleu, where a sketch was provided with another creteria to use mixed media. Here's the sketch:

The other challenge was a color challenge from ScrapFriends. Here's the palette:

At first, I didn't like this palette at all. I thought the redish color was not relevant and I thougt I'd skip this challenge, but then I decided to give it a try, after all, that's challenges are all about, isn't it?

When I started working on the page, I only added a few drops of red Mr. Huey's, but when I continued working, I found myself adding more and more red products. Looking at the final result I understand that the red is so relevant here... LOL, so thank you, ScrapFriends, for making me go out of my comfort zone.

I enjoyed very much to incooprate mixed media into this page. I find that there's something loosely and fun working with mixed media.

The photo is of my boys, a year ago, on one of our trips.

I would like to enter it to the contest at Paper Issues, for the summer theme.

דף שהכנתי לשני אתגרים, כשאחד מהם הוא אתגר ששילב גם סקיצה וגם מיקסד מדיה, והשני אתגר של צבעים.

אני מודה שבמבט ראשון, חשבתי שלא להשתתף באתגר הצבעים. הצבע האדמדם שבפלטה נראה היה לי מאד לא שייך. אח"כ החלטתי בכל זאת לנסות, ובהתחלה התוספת האדומה בדף שלי הייתה רק בכמה התזות של מר יואי אדום. עם התקדמות העבודה, נוספו עוד ועוד אלמנטים באדום. כשאני מתבוננת בתוצאה הסופית, האדום דווקא נראה לי מאד שייך ולמעשה 'מקפיץ' את כל הדף. מסקנה - אתגרים זה דבר טוב. הם מאלצים אותי לצאת מאזור הנוחות שלי ולהתנסות בדברים חדשים.

הרקע מורכב ממדיומים שונים - distress stain, דיו דיסטרס, מר יואי, חותמות שונות, רשת, ומסיכה עליה עבדתי עם ג'סו שנצבע עם קצת מר יואי שחור, כדי לקבל גוון אפרפר.

הוספתי גם יוטה שנצבעה באותו ג'סו צבוע, שאריות של דף גלי אדום ודף נקודות אפרפר.

לקישוט הכנתי שני פרחים מדף שהוחתם, עם בראדים של בייסיק גרי במרכז. עיטרתי עם סלסולי עלים של צ'יירי לין, ופינצ'וצ'י פרפרים. וכמובן התוספת הטרנדית המתבקשת - פאייטים (מעניין מה יסתיים קודם - הטרנדיות של הפאייטים או השקית שלהם שיש לי...).

התמונה היא של הילדודס, בדיוק לפני שנה, בטיול בנחל הקיבוצים. הם היו מוכנים לחזור שוב ושוב על הכניסה לצינור והיציאה ממנו בצד השני. תענוג אמיתי.
