Same place, year after year - lo

It's Thursday again and it means a new sketch at Sketches In Thyme!!!

Here's this week's sketch, designed by or own talented Tiffany:

I flipped it and changed it a little, to make it may own.

The photos are from two different travels we took to the same place, called Cyclamn Hill, year after year.

Our Driver - lo

It's Tuesday again, with a new sketch challenge at Sketch Along Tuesday @ Frosted Designs.

This time the sketch was drawn by our own Karin:

With a sketch like this, I just had to go for the worn out look - tearing, corrugated cardboard, beer bottle's cap, can's cup etc., and I also used faux red baker's twine.

A card for a new baby

Here's a card I've made for a new baby. I also made a scrappy gift, but you'll have to wait till Thursday to see it, with my post for the new challenge at Simply Create.

I really liked this sketch!

And I've made it from the leftovers of the gift project.

I did some faux stitching and used faux baker's twine.

The card is also for the twine challenge at gingersnap.

Little Tiny - lo

My new lo, with a photo of my eldest, when he was about 2 weeks old :). He was born small, and it took very long time till he gained weight as expected.

I love the brown/cream/white color combo, with a touch of pale blue.

Here's the sketch I worked with, drawn by Yael, as a sketch challenge at The Open House for Paper Designs:

I punched strips with MS doily lace punch, and then layered them for the frame.

All the flowers were made by me from silk fabric. Here are cluse-ups on the flowers:

A Bridge Over Troubled Water - lo

My original post, from Thursday, just vanished with Blogger's problems, so I'm posting it again.

My Big Brother - lo

My new lo, with photo of my boys 6 years ago. I just love this photo!

I used sketch #9 from Delightful Inspiration (she's posting a new sketch almost every day, for 14 days, and they're great sketches to work with):

The big flower was made by me, and it's actually done using used cereal box, acrylic paint, glitter powder, diamond glaze, leftover of dp and some gems. In making it, I was inspired by this tutorial by Crafty Fairy. Here's a close-up on the flower:

דף אלבום עם תמונה של הבנים שלי, לפני 6 שנים. אני מאד אוהבת את התמונה הזאת, עם החיבור בין שניהם.

את הפרח הגדול הכנתי בהשראה של הדרכה שהעלתה פיית מרציפן על הכנת קישוטים מצ'יפבורדים. אני הכנתי לא משארית של צ'יפבורד שלא משרבוט חופשי של פרח על קרטון של קורנפלקס, אבל העיקרון זהה.
האותיות הן הנגטיב של "קסם שימושי".

My Star - lo

Here's my lo for the "Shape" challenge at Frosted Designs. Erin asked us to use 3 different shgapes. I used rectangle, square and star.

I used May 7th sketch from YourScrapbookStash, which was perfect for this shape challenge.

The background dp and the strips are DCWV, the matting for the photos is BasicGrey, and so it also fits the challenge at BasicGrey challenges, to use charm and at least 1 item of BG.

דף נוסף של ביצוע מהיר יחסית, בזכות סקיצה פשוטה ומיעוט קישוטים. הדף נעשה לאתגר של צורות ב-Frosted Designs, שם היה צריך להשתמש ב-3 צורות שונות. אני בחרתי במלבן, ריבוע וכוכב.

ומחר אעלה את הדף החדש שלי, לאתגר סקיצה ב-Sketches In Thyme, עם סקיצה יפהפיה, ופרשנות שלי טיפה'לה שונה.

Free & Happy - lo

Another lo for the NSBD challenges at Frosted Designs.  Melissa asked that we'll use circles, any way we wish. I used circle dp and #1 sketch from Delightful Inspiration:

Another use of circles was in making the folded flower, created from 8 circles:

With so many circles on this lo, it also fits the circle challenge at The Stamping Boutique, and the spots & dots challenge at The Crafty Pad.

דף מהיר נוסף, עם סקיצה נקיה ופשוטה. ההכנה של הדף הזה לקחה מעט מאד זמן, בין היתר בזכות פשטות הסקיצה והעובדה שהפרח המקופל כבר היה מוכן מזמן, וחיכה לפרוייקט המתאים. הפרח הזה הוכן משאריות של אותו דף מדוגם המשמש כאן כרקע (ככה זה כששני הצדדים בדף דו"צ מוצאים חן, פשוט לוקחים שניים ממנו...), ומאותו דף גם הרצועה שמתחת לתמונות ופרחי האקורדיון.

האותיות הן של "תוצרת הארץ".

האתגר ב-Frosted Designs הוא של עיגולים - בכל פרשנות שתרצו. בדף הזה יש המון עיגולים...

You are not that beautiful when you cry...

Here I am, about 4 years old, crying... When ever I cried, my dad used to sing to me an Israeli song which says: "You are not that beautiful when you cry". It never stopped me crying...  

The challenge Fern gave at Frosted Designs was to make a"girly" los, with a twist - to use 1 item not found in a scrapbook store or scrapbook/craft department.

Well, with all the pearls, lace, flowers etc., I guess my lo is quite girly... :))). As for the twist - I used a zipper:

BUT!! I think that the cork flower on the right bottom corner is something you really can't find in a scrapbook store/department, cause I've made it out of a wine bottle cork... if you look close, you can still see the hole of the opening.

There's a lot of handmade embellishments - the pearls necklace, the kraft flower, the old sheet buttons and even the kraft flourishes! Here are some close ups on the embellishments:

דף מעוצב עם תמונה שלי בערך בגיל 4, בוכה. אבי ז"ל נהג לשיר לי כשבכיתי את השיר של אריק איינשטיין "כשאת בוכה את לא יפה". זה אף פעם לא גרם לי להפסיק לבכות, ההפך הוא הנכון...

הדף הוכן, בין היתר לאתגר של Fern, ב-Frosted Designs, שביקשה להכין דף של "בנות", אבל עם דרישה נוספת - שיהיה בדף משהו שלא ניתן למצוא אותו בחנות/מחלקה של סקראפבוקינג/יצירה. אני השתמשתי ברוכסן ובפרח שהכנתי מפקק שעם של בקבוק יין.

A Fmily Tradition - lo

This lo is about a well founded family tradtion - eating soft icecream at a small place near Haifa, everytime we travel back from the north. 

As a child, I used to go there with my family on our way back home from our traveling, and I'm continuing this tradition with my own kids :).

And so is the title for the lo - Family Tradition.

I made this lo for the 'hidden journlaing' challenge Lori set for us at Frosted Designs for NSBD (which, btw, due to midnight Wed, so hurry up!).

It's also a lo done for a private challenge I got from a virtual friend, Alma 7, which was a recipe: 1 cs, 2 dp, only 2 kind of embellishments (mine are the buttons, lots of buttons LOL, and the tag), and 3 photos.

דף שהכנתי לאתגר של ג'ורנלינג חבוי. הדף הוא אודות מסורת משפחתית אצלנו, שהתחילה עוד בילדותי עם הורי - בסיום טיול בצפון, בדרכנו הביתה, עוצרים בנשר לאכול גלידה אמריקאית ב'גלידת תל חנן' :))). אין, אין על הגלידה הזאת!

התג הנשלף מספר את סיפור המסורת הזאת.

הדף הוא גם לאתגר פרטי עם עלמה 7, שנתנה לי מתכון: 1 דף חלק, 2 ניירות מדוגמים, 2 סוגי קישוטים (טוב, היא לא הגבילה את הכמות של הקישוט מאותו סוג, אז התפרעתי עם כמות הכפתורים...) ו-3 תמונות.

אני מודה שהיה לי מאד קשה להיצמד למתכון הזה. כל הזמן רציתי להוסיף עוד משהו, רק עוד משהו קטן, אבל אני שמחה שבכל זאת מילאתי אחר כל ההוראות ונהניתי להכין דף שהוא די שונה מהסגנון הרגיל שלי.

כל האתגרים ב-Frosted Designs, כולל אלו שהיו מוגבלים לשעה בלבד, פתוחים להשתתפות עד חצות ביום רביעי (שעון ארה"ב, ז"א 08:00 שעון ישראל). יש שם כמה אתגרים מאד נחמדים, שגרמו לי 'לצאת מהקופסא'. שווה לנסות.
