Spring - lo for My Creative Sketches

This is my take on March's sketch at My Creative Sketches. Here's the beautiful sketch by Kim Keane:

The photo is of my eldest boy, 8 years ago. It was early spring and we went to travel with good freinds. It was all grean grass around with awesome spring blossom.
I used my counterfeit kit. all dp are Jillibean Soup (Southern Chiken Dumpling Soup & Coconut Lime Soup); cs and alphas - AC; heart die-cut - BG; frame die-cut - untitled (I have it for very long time, have no clue what manufacturer); button, doilies - my stash; distress inks - TH Ranger.

I think I'm pretty brave making a layout with pink and flowery dp for a boy... he kind of liked the layout, said it's beautiful... I hope he won't be mad with me when he grows up because of it....

Free Hug Coupon - a card

While I'm already playing with my new Counterfeit Kit, I took a moment to use some of the scraps from my March Counterfiet Kit, and I made this card.

I've made this card for two challenges - #112 sketch at Tuesday Trio, whith the theme of brads/eyelets, and Catered Crop Reibpe Swap which asked for brads.
Here's the sketch:

I have both eyelets (the tiny stars) and brads (the center of the accordion flowers).

אז איך עבר עליכן ליל הסדר? אנחנו הסבנו לשולחן המשפחתי והשמחה הייתה גדולה.

אני אמנם כבר עובדת עם קיט החיקוי החדש שלי, אבל בכל זאת החלטתי להשתמש בשאריות מהקיט הקודם, של חודש מרץ, והכנתי את הכרטיס הזה, לשני אתגרים  - האחד הוא שלוש בשלישי, עם סקיצה ואתגר נלווה של בראדים/ניטים (בכרטיס יש משניהם...) ואתגר נוסף שבו זכיתי לאחרונה והוזמנתי להיות מעצבת אורחת, כשהנושא הוא בראדים.

two versions of dryer sheet flowers

Long time ago, I've made a tutorial about making flowers from a dryer sheet - here. Today I want to show you another versions of dryer sheet flowers.

supplies:

used dryer sheet

needle and thread

glimmer mist/ distress inks/ acrylic paint - any medium you wish to color the dryer sheet

a pencil

scissors

a circluar template (I use chipboard, punched cs, etc)

step 1:

fold the dreyr sheet into half and then again into half (if you're using a bigger circle, fold it only once).

step 2:

using the pencil, draw a circle on the folded dryer sheet. that's what you'll get:

step 3:

Cut the circle with the scissors. you'll get 8 circles.

step 4:

 Color 5-6 circles (depending on how much petals you want for your flower). in my example, the red one was misted with glimmer mist and for the blue one I used distress ink.

step 4:

version 1 5 pointed petals flower -

fold the circle in half, and then bring one end to the center of the half circle.
step 5:

with a needle and thread, make stitches on the round edge, pulling the thread.
step 6:

do the same to the other 4 circles, and gather them tightly, to preform the 5 petals flower look.
secure the thread, and that's what you'll end up with:

2nd version - 6 rounded petals flower:

fold the circle in half.

stitch the rounded edge, and gather all 6 petals the same way. 
that's what you should end up with:

embellish the center for your flower with a pearl, a button, a brad, etc.

גרסה נוספת לפרחים מנייר של מייבש כביסה, עם שתי אפשרויות למראה של עלי הכותרת - מחודדים או מעוגלים.

גוזרים עיגולים מנייר משומש של מייבש כביסה (לפרח עם עלי כותרת מחודדים צריך 5, ולפרח עם עלי כותרת מעוגלים צריך 6 עיגולים). הדרך הנוחה ביותר, מבחינתי, היא לקפל את הנייר לחצי ואח"כ שוב לחצי (או גדול יותר אם העיגול שאתן גוזרות גדול יותר), ואז לגזור. כך מתקבלים 8 עיגולים שווים בגזירה אחת.

עכשיו מגיע השלב להתלכלך.... אפשר לצבוע את הניירות הללו בדרכים שונות. בדוגמא כאן הראיתי צביעה בהתזה של גלימר מיסט וצביעה עם דיו דיסטרס (אפשר, כמובן, בדרכים נוספות - צבעים אקריליים, לדוגמא).

לפרח מחודד עלי כותרת - כל עיגול מקפלים לחצי, ואז מביאים קצה אחד אל האמצע של העיקול המקופל (בתמונה זה די ברור). תופרים תפרים בחלק העגול של העיגול המקופל ומכווצים. כך עושים עם עוד 4 עיגולים ומהדקים את כולם בתפירה, כך שהם צמודים זה לזה ובסגירתם יוצרים צורה של פרח עם 5 עלי כותרת - כולם מחודדים.

לפרח מעוגל עלי כותרת - כל עיגול מקפלים רק לחצי וממשיכים באותה צורה.

את מרכז הפרח אפשר לקשט במגוון קישוטים - פנינה, כפתור, סיכה מתפצלת וכיוצ"ב.

מה דעתכן? מוצא חן בעיניכן? אשמח לקרוא את תגובותיכן.

אני גם אוהבת את המראה וגם מרוצה מהעובדה שאני עושה משהו קטן למיחזור חומרים שאחרת היו נזרקים לפח.

Spring Blossom Soup Kit- my Counterfeit Kit

I was inspired by the springy look and colors, but my take is with more subtle colors. I also added cardstocks, since the inpiraion kits did not include any.

I was very fortunate to win a fat bag from Jillibean Soup, with all their 4 new collection. Some of the dp are very springy (Southern Chicken Dumpling Soup & Coconut Lime Soup collections), so All of my dp are from these two collections.

One of the embellishments of the inspiration kit catched my eyes - the Pink Paislee shipping tags, so I counterfeited my own tags, mostly from Webster's Pages scraps. Here's a close-ups on some of my embellies:

I also made a second kit, smaller, with more cs, dp (again Jillibean Soup  with DCWV) and embellishments. Here are photos of the 2nd kit and close-ups on the embellishments:

Making these kits filled me with spring feeling and inspiration, so I'm looking forward to use my CKC kits this month.

החודש אני מעצבת אורחת בבלוג של Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog, בלוג שהרעיון העומד בבסיסו הוא לקחת קיט של מועדון קיט כהשראה וליצור על פיו קיט חיקוי, מתוך החומרים שיש לכן ממילא כבר בבית. הבלוג מלא בהדרכות וקישורים להדרכות להכנת קישוטים בעצמכן.

היום יש בלוג הופ של כל המעצבות, שמראות את קיט החיקוי שכל אחת מהן יצרה. הקיט הראשי שלי נוצר מדפים מדוגמים בהם זכיתי מ-Jillibean Soup, וקישוטים שלי שחלקם ביצירה עצמית (במיוחד אני מאוהבת בתגיות שהכנתי משאריות של WP).

Finally Snow (a long cold winter) - GD for Scrap It With A Song

I was invited to be a Guest Designer for April at Scrap It With A Song, and I was very happy about it. Songs are a great inspiration for me in my life, and for my scrapping.

For April, SIWAS has a wonderful songs to inpire you and I hope you'll join us in the fun.

The 1st song is 'Here Comes The Sun', by the Beatles. Noramally, one would think of a springy theme for a layout, but I wanted to remind us that before we see all this glorious blooming, we should say goodbye for the cold winter.

The photos are of my boys, playing in the snow only a month ago. we rarely have snow in Israel, and my boys were longing for snow to fall ever since we moved here. Finally, after almost 4 years, we had snow, and that is the title of my lo. With the subtitle I played with the word 'long' from the song - our winter isn't really long, but we longed for snow to fall.

My inspiration for this lo came from case file no. 13 at CSI:

I love this color palette! I think I will use it again.

For the evidence: a pinewheel, hearts, twine, jewels (rhinestones in the center of the pinewheel and the spiral flowers), spiral flowers (I've made them according to Wintam's tutorial)
For the testimony: the lo is all about my boys playing in the snow, with such a great delight.

דף מעוצב עם תמונות של הבנים שלי משחקים בשמחה ובאושר בשלג שצנח לו אצלנו לפני כחודש.

הדף הזה הוא  משימה כמעצבת אורחת בבלוג של Scrap It With A Song, אליו הוזמנתי לחודש אפריל. האתגר הראשון הוא השראה מהשיר של הביטלס Here Comes The Sun. היה מתבקש להכין דף עם נושא ואווירה אביביים, אבל בחרתי דווקא את השורה המדברת על החורף הארוך והקר (אצלנו לא כל כך ארוך, ובינינו - גם לא כל כך קר...), ותיעדתי בכיתוב את ההשתוקקות (משחק מילים על המילה long) של הילדים שלי (וגם שלי...) שירד כבר שלג, כזה שנערם.

האתגר הנוסף לו הכנתי את הדף הוא אתגר המשלב כמה נושאים - פלטת צבעים, אלמנטים וכיתוב.
הפרחים הצהובים המקופלים הוכנו לפי ההדרכה הזאת של WINTAM.

מחר יהיה בלוג הופ באתגר של קיט החיקוי, שגם בו אני מעצבת אורחת לחודש אפריל. בבלוג הופ כל המעצבות יציגו את קיט החיקוי שהכינו. התמונה הקטנה למעלה היא הצצה לקיט הזה, שהוא אביבי להפליא. יהיה כיף ומעניין. תבואו (אחרי הסעודה הדשנה של ליל הסדר...).

I've been caught....

A quick post, just to let you know I've been caught stealing.... well, not actually stealing, but I was very honored when Bethany & Meridy asked me to be their April's Guest Designer at Counterfeit Kit Challenge, and of course I said: "YES"!

My March Counterfeit kit was a real blast for me. I never thought I would use (almost) all of it, but eventually I've made 10 layouts and 4 cards, all from my kit (and another lo was made from scraps of that kit and some add ons).

I love CKC's concept, taking a kit from one of the kit clubs as an inspiration, and creating a 'counterfeit kit' from the supplies you already have, instead of buying new.

As for April's kit I can tell you it's gonna be a real challenge for me to create my counterfeit kit.... and even more - to make projects with this kit...

שמחתי מאד כשהבעלים של Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog ביקשו ממני להצטרף אליהם בחודש אפריל כמעצבת אורחת.

אני  מאד אוהבת את הרעיון שעומד בבסיס האתגר הזה - לוקחים קיט מאחד ממועדוני הקיטים, כקיט של השראה, ומרכיבים קיט חיקוי מהחומרים שיש לנו ממילא כבר בבית, בלי לקנות חומרים חדשים.

קיט החיקוי שהרכבתי בחודש מרץ האחרון התגלה כהצלחה מסחררת מבחינתי. הקיט העיקרי וקיט התוספות שהרכבתי היו  מלאים בחומרים, גם דפים וגם קישוטים שונים. הייתי מאד סקפטית באשר למידת השימוש שלי בקיט, וכבר ראיתי את עצמי עובדת מחדש כדי לפרק אותו ולהחזיר כל דבר למקומו. אך לשמחתי (והפתעתי) הרבה, השתמשתי כמעט בכולו. הכנתי 10 דפים מעוצבים ו-4 כרטיסים. דף נוסף שהכנתי התבסס הרבה על שאריות מהקיט ועל כמה תוספות. גם במרבית הקישוטים השתמשתי.

הרכבת הקיט של חודש  אפריל היא משימה אתגרית לא קטנה עבורי, אבל אני מקווה שאעמוד בה בכבוד וגם אצליח להשתמש בקיט.

את הקיט אעלה לבלוג ביום שישי, 6 באפריל, בשעה 20:00, שכן אז מתחיל הבלוג הופ בבלוג, שבו כל המעצבות מגלות את הקיטים שיצרו. כך שבזמן שאנחנו נספר ביציאת מצרים, ונאכל את החרוסת (והביצים הקשות, והעוף, והמרק עם הקניידלעך, ועוד ועוד....), תהיה חגיגת יצירה.

אתן מוזמנות להצטרף ולנסות להרכיב קיט משלכן, על בסיס החומרים שיש לכן כבר ממילא ברשותכן. אני נהניתי מאד לעשות זאת.

Peter Pan - lo CSI #12 case file

This is my take on #12 case file at CSI:

The photo is of my youngest, wearing a costume of Peter Pan, 4 years ago.

I used all 5 colors from the palette. some scraps I had from March counterfeit kit, a prima package, some printables from CSI and a beer bottlle cap to hold my journaling.

For the evidence I have: hot-air bloons, clouds and stars (misting and on the journaling card); for the testimony I used the bottle cap to 'hold' my journaling in an unexpected way to hold the journaling plus inspiration from the word "magic".

The journaling is about some of the characters of the eternal child Peter Pan, and my wish for my boy to preserve some of 'Peter Pan' in him.

I would like to enter this lo also for #2 challenge at Scraptastic, which asked for recycle plus masking - the Prima package and the bottle lid are my recycled items and I masked the stars with glimmer mist.

I can promise you that this month I will make a lot of springy layouts, but that all I can say for now....

דף חדש, עם תמונה של צעיר הבנים מחופש לפיטר פן בפורים לפני 4 שנים. הדף הוכן לאתגר משולב של צבעים, אלמנטים והשראה לג'ורנלינג.

השתמשתי בשאריות שנותרו לי מקיט החיקוי של החודש שעבר, בצירוף תגיות וקוביית כיתוב שהורדתי מהאתר של האתגר. משם גם הבלונים הפורחים והדף ששימש לגזירת העננים. 

בנוסף יש בדף הזה שני פריטים של מיחזור - אריזה של פרימה ופקק של בקבוק בירה, ש'מחזיק' את תגית הכיתוב.
האביב כבר חוגג במלוא עוצמתו! שתי התמונות הראשונות הן מגן החיות התנ"כי, והשתיים התחתונות הן משביל האלות בפארק בריטניה. כל כך יפה לראות זה לצד זה את שלהי פריחת החורף עם ניצני פריחת האביב. מקסים!
