My 2 Charmers - lo

My #4 lo from my counterfeit kit. I don't have any chevrons dp, so I've made one from a striped dp. quite a lot of work, but I really like the outcome. it's not perfect, but it's mine :))).  here are some close-ups:

זה הדף הרביעי שהכנתי מקיט החיקוי שלי. דפים עם דוגמת זיגזג הם עכשיו מאד טרנדיים. אין לי דף כזה, אז הכנתי אחד בעצמי, מדף עם דוגמת רצועות. זה אמנם לא  מושלם, וזה גם די הרבה עבודה, אבל אני אוהבת את התוצאה.

דף נוסף מקיט החיקוי, הפעם עם תמונות מטיול שעשינו לפני כחודש לכרמל. כבר הכנתי שני דפי אלבום עם תמונות מהטיול ההוא, ועוד היד נטויה...

בדף הזה, בשונה משני הקודמים לו מקיט החיקוי, הצהוב פחות דומיננטי. הקיט הזה גורם לי להשתמש בצהוב כל כך הרבה, שבעתיד כבר לא אוכל לומר שזה צבע שאני כמעט שלא משתמשת בו... 

תוצאה מבורכת נוספת לאתגר של קיט החיקוי הוא שהוצאתי כמה מהדפים הזנוחים ביותר שלי, אלו שכל פעם שהסתכלתי עליהם בעבר, לא היה לי שמץ של מושג אם ואיך להשתמש בהם. כך גם הדף המדוגם בכחול ולבן המשמש כמאטינג לדף כולו. הדוגמא שעליו מאד חזקה וקשה היה לי להתחבר אליה, אבל כשזה רק כמסגרת לדף עצמו, הוא התאים לי מאד. מאחר שלא השתמשתי בכולו למאטינג, אלא גזרתי מתוכו את הריבוע הפנימי, אז נותרה שארית די גדולה ממנו. אולי במינון קטן יותר, על כרטיסים, הוא יראה לי יותר שמיש...

יש לי כמה וכמה תובנות מהאתגר של קיט החיקוי. אולי בסוף החודש, אקבץ אותן ביחד, לשמר לקחים שעזרו לי.

This is my 2nd lo from my counterfei kit and the 2nd post today.

The photo is of my boys, more than 4 years ago, sailing on a paddle boat in an artificial lake in the north of Israel. 

On this lo I used dp: Glitz design (from Vintage Blue collection), Lilybee design, DCWV; die cuts (the journaling tag - Authentique; the book sheet for matting - unknown, I won it as a prize); music sheet from an old music notebook; kraft corrugated cardboard, a recycled item from a packgae; alphas - Webster's Pages; ribbon, baker's twine, brads - from my stash.

I did faux stitching around some of the dp and the journaling tag.

This is the 1st lo I'm making with my counterfeit kit.

I used #18 Artful Delight sketch:

The woodgrain paper and the title die-cut are homemade :) I like the way they turned out. dp are LilyBee design and My Mind's Eye. chipboards are Crate Paper. misc - white corrugated cs, stars stickers, buttons, baker's twine, ric rac ribbon, office clips - from my stash.

My March Counterfeit Kit - You Are My Sunshine

I love the concept behind Counterfeit Kit Challenge - use a kit from a kit club as inspiration to create your own kit from supplies you already have. 

This month they have a beautiful kit for inspiration, Birds of a Feather Kit Club, full of yummy blue/yellow/grey colors. here's a photo of the kit for inspiration:

For my counterfeit kit I followed the color scheme, with addition of kraft. in the kit: 4 cs - white, kraft, blue & grey. dp from different manufacturers - Glitz, My Mind's Eye, DCWV, October Afternoon, LilyBee design. the white corrugated cs is part of an A4 sheet, and I added a piece of kraft corrugated cs. cs labels are Authentique and the alphas stickers are Webster's Pages. more alphas velvet stickers in Hebrew are from al local manufaturer. the set of wooden butterflies from Kaisercraft is the same one as in the inspiration kit.

I did put much more embellishments in my kit than on the inspiration kit, some I've made myself (the title die-cut, flowers, etc., a freebie (the jurnaling card, from Creativity Prompt).

With all these added embellishments, I still felt something is missing, so I've made an 'add-on kit', this time with more vintage style - A Vintage Sunny Day:

More cs (white & kraft 12x12 and some black & kraft A4), more dp (DCWV, Authentique, Glitz, MME),  lots of Prima flowers in the kit's colors (must use these hoarded flowers!), more twine, crocheted doilies, punched kraft flowers, Crate Paper chipboards embellishments, more alphas, ric-rac ribbon, rhinestons and more btrads, tickets, die-cut phrases and title, more tags and buttons. to complete the vintage style, I added music note sheet and an old book sheet  (I guess I did put a lot of embellishments... hope to use most of them).

Some of the ingredients of this kit were made by myself. the blue woodgrain dp:

the title die-cut was made on a faux woodgrain piece of cs I've made myself and with computer generated sentiment:

and some recycle items - kraft butterflies, clouds and flower - punched from a popcorn package and a cloth tag:

פעם נוספת שאני משתתפת באתגר בבלוג שהרעיון המרכזי בו הוא ליצור קיט חיקוי לקיט קיים שמשמש כקיט ההשראה לחודש הנתון, והכל מחומרים שממילא יש לנו כבר. אפשר לחקות את פלטת הצבעים, את הדגמים והסוג של הניירות והקישוטים וכיוצ"ב. הרעיון המרכזי הוא - חסכון. ליצור מתוך מה שיש כבר ולא לקנות חדש (או לקנות השלמות בתקציב מוגבל). בבלוג מעלים גם המון הדרכות להכנה עצמית של מרכיבים בקיט (ניירות, קישוטים וכיוצ"ב).

בהתאם לרוח זו, הכנתי בעצמי את הדף המדוגם עם המראה של עץ מיושן (הכחול), את אחד מחיתוכי הכותרות, ועוד כמה וכמה קישוטים (חלקם פינצ'וצ'ים מאריזה של פופקורן :)))...).

הצבעים של קיט ההשראה מאד דיברו אלי - כחול/צהוב/אפור. הוספתי עליהם גם קראפט.

קיט ההשראה היה דל, לטעמי, בקישוטים, אז הוספתי כהנה וכהנה קישוטים בצבעים המתאימים, חלקם גם כן בייצור עצמי.

עכשיו נשאר להשתמש בקיט, או לפחות ברובו... אתגר בפני עצמו.

 שבת חורפית, גשומה, קרה וערפילית הייתה בהחלט יצירתית. חג פורים מתקרב, ואיתו משלוחי המנות שצריכים הילדים להביא לביה"ס. זה היה התמריץ להכין שני כרטיסי ברכה שילוו את משלוחי המנות. בשניהם השתמשתי בסקיצות של 'שלוש בשלישי ובשאריות מקופסת השאריות שלי.
הכרטיס הראשון - סקיצה מס' 107, כל הניירות המדוגמים הם שאריות מהקיט 'זרעי קיץ' של צרויה אילן:

האתגר הנלווה היה 'בלינג', ולשם כך הוספתי את האבנים הכחולות המנצנצות. אני מקווה שאם זה יהיה ילד שיקבל את הכרטיס, הוא לא ירתע בגלל הניצנוץ הזה, כי בכל זאת הצבעים לא מאד 'של בנות'...
הנה תקריב:

הכרטיס השני הוכן לסקיצה מס' 108, והוא שילוב שאריות מחברות שונות - Basic Grey, DCWV, October Afternoon, LilyBee Design. האתגר הנלווה היה שימוש בלפחות 5 צבעים - התאים מאד לאווירה עליזה של פורים, ויצא לי כרטיס צבעוני למדי:

A photo of my eldest, playing with a wooden sword, about 5.5 years ago.

For this lo I used scraps from different companies (DCWV, LilyBee Design, Cosmo Cricket). The die-cut cs is Studio Calico; the alphas stickers are Fancy Pants, and so are the star stickers above the photo; the numbers are from a local manufacute; I also used a baker's twine.

The photo I used for this lo was taken on summer 2006. it was sure hot then, but look what we've had yesterday:

Yeh!! we finally had snow here! we rarely have snow here, and it was the first time my kids saw the falling snow. it was so beautiful and we had so much fun. it didn't last long and by afternoon it was all gone, and now it's cold and foggy.

בניגוד גמור למזג האוויר שבחוץ (איזה כיף היה השלג!!!), הכנתי דף עם תמונה של הבכור בפעילות במבצר אפולוניה, בקיץ 2006, בתקופת הנדודים שלנו בעיצומה של מלחמת לבנון השניה. הייתה שם הצגה מאד מוצלחת והפעלה נפלאה של הילדים. הם הכינו דגלים של אבירים, וחרבות עץ, ובתמונה הזאת הילדון מאושר עד הגג להשתמש בה :).

אהבתי מאד את הניגודיות בצבעים בין האפור והתכלת אפרפר לבין האדום והחום. נהניתי מאד לקרוע את הרצועות של הדפים המדוגמים. 

Two Glitz cards

After I finished my "Discover The World" layout, I had some leftovers, and I used them to make two cards.

For both of these cards I used Prickley Pear Rubber stamps I won at one of their recent challenges. I used Glitz Design dp (Beautiful Dreamer collection), and they both go for Feb color challenge at Glitz Design:
