case file # 92 at CSI

and freatured on C'est Magnifique blog
for their October's sketch

I've made this lo for case file #92 at CSI using October's sketch from C'est Magnifique, and the mood board at Scrap Around The World.

My main inspiration from this mood board was the pastel colors and the shabby chic style of some of the photos. I was also drawn to the lace glasses with the light pink flowers, and to the dotty jug. love the calm and soft atmosphere of this mood board, just like the sunrise time :).
And here's case file #92 at CSI:

A very soft and feminine color palette. When I looked at the prompts ('my full name and how it was decided on'), I new I'll scrap this sunrise photo, because the name my parantes gave me has something to do with sunrise.

The palette just 'screamed' Prima's Delight collection, so I used some products from this collection, along with some other Prima's products.
The clues I used to solve the case were:
Scheme - all colors used.
Eveidence - pearls, book pages, something that dangles, charms, lace, distressing, stack elements.
Testimony - I chose one of the prompts and in my jouranling I copied a part from a letter my late Dad wrote to me when I was 16 years old. In this part he explains why he and Mom gave me my name. at that time there was recession and my parents' economic state was very bad. Also my Dad had his 1st heart attack  (which was very severe) and was unable to work. they were very depressed. And that's what he wrote to me (in free translation): "The period before you were born was such, that you almost were born orphan. And then you were born, and by giving you your name we expressed the big hope that has risen in our hearts. Your Dad".
The journling is on a hidden tag, tacked between the layers, with only the butterfly charm on the top showing.

האתגר השבועי ב-CSI, עם פלטת צבעים מאד פסטלית ונשית, פשוט צעק: "Prima Delight" (הדף הזה, וגם זה, והקישוט הזה, וגם הכפתורים הללו- לדוגמא), אז נעניתי לקריאה :)). השתמשתי גם בסט חותמות תיפורים של פרימה, שהוא פשוט מוצלח מאד ומאד שימושי.

הדף הזה החזיר אותי לעיצוב שאבי-שיק, עם הרבה דיסטרסינג וריבוי שכבות, אבל עדיין עם מיקסד מדיה - הרקע נבנה מדפי ספר ישן שנצבעו עם distress stain picket fence וג'סו, ומעליהם עבדתי עם מסיכת עיגולים של סטודיו קאליקו ומשחת עיצוב עם  מרקם חולי והחתמה בחותמת הזו של פרימה. בנוסף עבדתי גם עם מסיכה TCW Ledger ואבקת אמבוסינג לבנה.

בשכבות השתמשתי בניירות המדוגמים של פרימה,הרבה פרחים, גאזה, תחרה מוילון ישן וחיתוכים בביג שוט של דוילי וענפים מסולסלים קטנים.

התמונה צולמה מביתנו, קצת אחרי הזריחה בבוקר של חודש יוני לפני למעלה משנה. המראה של הערפילים שהיו בואדי בין ההרים נתן ניחוח קל של הרים באירופה.

My Star - lo

Here's my lo for the "Shape" challenge at Frosted Designs. Erin asked us to use 3 different shgapes. I used rectangle, square and star.

I used May 7th sketch from YourScrapbookStash, which was perfect for this shape challenge.

The background dp and the strips are DCWV, the matting for the photos is BasicGrey, and so it also fits the challenge at BasicGrey challenges, to use charm and at least 1 item of BG.

דף נוסף של ביצוע מהיר יחסית, בזכות סקיצה פשוטה ומיעוט קישוטים. הדף נעשה לאתגר של צורות ב-Frosted Designs, שם היה צריך להשתמש ב-3 צורות שונות. אני בחרתי במלבן, ריבוע וכוכב.

ומחר אעלה את הדף החדש שלי, לאתגר סקיצה ב-Sketches In Thyme, עם סקיצה יפהפיה, ופרשנות שלי טיפה'לה שונה. 

זאת הצצה לדף, והינשופים הללו פשוט מטריפים.

We'll always have Paris - mini album

I've made this mini album about a wonderful vacation I had with my BF in Paris,  on July 2009. It was a very spontaneous decision to go (two days ahead) , and against all chances - my passport was invalid and it was almost impossible to get a new one within only one day, plus my youngest had fever the night before I left). It was on of my best vacations and we had such a great time! I just love Paris....

The mini album is in the vintage style, of course, and I used a lot of distressing, tearing and inking (my fingers were all inked :)))...). There are tags, hidden journaling, stamps, rhienstones, rub-ons, chipboards, charms, stickers, perals and ribbons. But strangely  - no lace.. I just realized it when it was all finished.

In order to give it the look of a book, I used accordion folding, and then I adhered every two pages into the folds:

מיני אלבום שהכנתי על חופשה בפריז, עם החברה הכי טובה שלי, לפני כשנה וחצי. בחרתי, כמובן, במראה הוינטאג'י. יש באלבום תגיות נשלפות וכיתובים נסתרים. השתמשתי במדבקות מתגרדות, חותמות, בלינגים, פנינים, סטיקרים, סרטים וצ'יפבורדים. קרעתי ויישנתי דפים ותמונות,  ובכדי ליצור מראה של ספר, עשיתי קיפולי אקורדיון ואת הדפים עם התמונות הדבקתי לתוך הקיפולים.  להכין את האלבומון הזה היה כיף גדול מאד, כאילו לצאת שוב לטיול הזה.

After making a few CAS layouts, I'm back to the vintage multi-layers style. This style is the best for scrapping photos from Paris, isn't it?

I used sketch #140 from Creative Scrappers:

I used Basic Grey kraft cs, 7 Gypsies dp, Cosmo Cricket dp and K & co. dp. All papers were distressed. Here are some close-ups on the layers and the distressing:

I also used lace, ribbon, crochet flowers that I've made, lots of buttons (20 buttons!), brads and eyelets, paper lace runner, stamps and a charm. Here're the close-ups on the details:

אחרי כמה דפים בסגנון פשוט ונקי, בדף הזה חזרתי לסגנון הוינטאג' מרובה השכבות והקישוטים. התמונה מטיול בפריז שעשיתי ביולי 2009. אני פשוט אוהבת את העיר הזאת. כל הניירות עברו יישון. השתמשתי בפרחי קרושה שסרגתי, המון כפתורים, תחרה, סרט, סיכות מתפצלות וניטים, פנינים, פרפרי בד וצ'ארם (אמרתי כבר שחזרתי להעמיס על הדף, לא? :)...). האותיות של תוצרת הארץ.

My beautiful Mom - lo for Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesday

Agin it's time for a new sketch challenge  at Sketch Along Tuesday Frosted Designs and this is my take on the awesome sketch designed by our talented Debbie. Here's the sketch:

I love this sketch! It can be easily used on a CAS version, and on a multi layers and lots of details version, just like I did it.

I twisted the sketch, so it'll fit the photo, which is of my beautiful mom on her wedding.

As a younk kid, I always thought that my mom is the most beautiful woman on earth (and also that she's very tall). I still think so :))...Hence the title, which is a line from an Israeli song, that says, in free translation: "My mom, who I believed to be the most beautiful woman".

I used Webster's Pages as the basis and K&Co. for the matting.

I used stickles (gold, red & green), lace, MS butterfly punch, crochet flower I made myself, pearl, ribbon and metal lock & key charms.

The letters are velvet stickers, an Isreali designed.

דף שהכנתי כחלק מצוות המעצבות באתגר הסקיצה של Frosted Designs. התמונה היא של אימי ביום חתונתם של הורי. כילדה קטנה תמיד האמנתי שאימי היא היפה בנשים (וגם מאד גבוהה), כך שהשורה מהשיר של שלמה ארצי, התאימה לי פרפקט. אני עדיין מאמינה שאימי מאד יפה. :)

עם דף של וובסטר'ס פייג'ס אי אפשר לפספס, והם תמיד משמשים בסיס נהדר לדפי וינטאג'. הוספתי דבק נצנצים (זהוב, ירוק ואדום) על אלמנטים שונים המצויירים על הדף, פרח קרושה שסרגתי, תחרה, פאנצ' פרפר של מרתה סטיוארט, כמה עלים מהאוסף שלי וכמובן השתמשתי באותיות "תוצרת הארץ" המופלאות, שבהן אני פשוט  מאוהבת. תראו כמה שהן מדהימות - ממש נראה כמו קאליגרפיה על הדף:

באתגר הסקיצה הקודם שלנו, אחד מהדפים שזכו כ- Top 3, היה של ישראלית - מיטל, עם הדף המדהים והיפהפה שלה. איזה כיף לראות יותר ויותר ישראליות משתתפות באתגרים בחו"ל וזוכות, בצדק, להכרה בכשרון הרב. הנה ההזדמנות להראות שהולכת ומתהווה פה מעצמת סקראפ :)))).
