1st Snow Day - Sketchabilities Dec 30th reveal

We're nearly the end of 2013.... where did time fly? anyway, it's time for a new sketch at Sketchabilities, and Karan rocked again with a fab sketch:

The photo is of my eldest, almost 2 years ago. It was the 1st time we had snow here...

I've made a quilled snowflake, and used a pp with some snowflakes. I worked with gesso over a mask on the upper and lower corners, and added some grayish glittered flowers. I also used Prima's stitches stamp and some washi tape.

סוף השנה האזרחית הגיע ואוטוטו מתחילה שנה אזרחית חדשה. בטרם מסתיימת השנה, זה זמן לסקיצה חדשה ב-Sketchabilities.

התמונה היא דווקא לא מסערת השלג האחרונה, אלא מיום השלג הראשון שהיה לנו לפני כמעט שנתיים.

הכנתי פתית שלג מקווילינג, וצרפתי לו שני פרחים כסופים מנצנצים וחיתוכי עלים מסולסלים. בקצוות עבדתי עם ג'סו על מסיכה, ומעל החתמתי בחותמת תיפורים של פרימה. השתמשתי גם בוואשי טייפ כחול מנוקד בלבן.

Family - Special Agent at CSI - case file #99

Case file #99 is up at CSI, with a warm and beautiful inspiration photo. I'm a Special Agent (i.e. Guest Designer) at CSI this month. I was inspired by the curains to make my own 'curtain' by pleating a dp, and tying a ribbon, as if it holds the 'curtain' open.

I love this photo of my sons, so close one to each other and so happy.

Here's case file #99 at CSI:

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - all 5 colors used.

Evidence - butterflies, fabric (a lace trim and a ribbon), wood, silver metal, something puffy (the flowers), drape something (the trinket key), pleats, 6 something (6 letter title, 6 butterflies, 6 different dp).

Testimony- I was inspired by  'SixWords Memoir' for my sub title ("No other bond like this one"), which I've put on stripes. On the back of the page I wrote about how inpmortant and valuable are family ties, and how one should cherish and hold on them.
I really love how my 'curtain' came out, and how the butterflies are hanging on it.

דף נוסף שהכנתי כמעצבת אורחת ב-CSI. הפעם עם פלטת צבעים מאד חמה ומזמינה, ועם תמונה נפלאה להשראה. האלמנט שהכי תפס את עיני בתמונה, והיווה את ראשית ההשראה לדף הזה, היו הוילונות הכתומים. החלטתי ליצור וילון מנייר, ולקשור במרכז הקיפולים סרט, המחזיק את הוילון מוסט. מכאן כבר התגלגל המשך העיצוב של הדף. עבדתי עם מסיכה ומשחת עיצוב על שתי הפינות השמאליות של הדף, וגם זה נותן קצת אשליה של חלון ממוסגר. הפרפרים התלויים על הוילון מדגישים את האווריריות, ביחד עם התחרה העדינה שמבצבצת מתחת לדף בדיגום של לוחות עץ. אני אוהבת את הניגודיות שבין החספוס של לוחות העץ לבין התחרה העדינה והרומנטית.

case file #94 at CSI

This another lo I've made for case file #94 at CSI, but with a totally different approach - more artsy and funky than my other take on this case file. I think it's great to see two different takes on the same color palette.

My clues to solve the case were:

Evidence - stack something (did I say anything about layers and layers? LOL), woodgrain, something crinckled (some of the dp).

Testimony - record a funny story. The photo are of my youngest, the drama king of our home. On a Tae Kwon Do test there were yellow cones, and they reminded my boy of a chinese hat. I had to take those photos... LOL My journaling says: "In the middle of the Tae Kwon Do stage test, the yellow cones reminded you of a chinese hat. Right away you put the cone on your head, and immediately your fingesr pulled your eys to look like chinese eyes. And there you were 'chinese babaingi' (it's a nickname he got once his eyes got swollen cause of a mosquito bite).

דף נוסף שהכנתי לאתגר ב-CSI, עם אותה פלטת צבעים, אבל בסגנון אחר לגמרי מהדף הקודם. התמונות הן של צעיר הבנים, מלך הדרמה בביתנו. במבחן דרגה בטאיקוונדו פוזרו קונוסים צהובים לצורך התרגילים, והם הזכירו לו כובע סיני. מייד הוא חבש אחד מהקונוסים על ראשו, ועם אצבעותיו משך את העיניים שיהיו מלוכסנות, והנה הוא סיני. אי אפשר היה לעמוד בקסמו השובבי :-).

A new lo I've made with September sketch challenge at My Mind's Eye, and case file #91 at CSI.

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - all colors used (the khaki green doesn't show well in the photos, with a very bright sunny day when I took the photos, but that's the color of the leaves under the big flower, and of the flat flower under the small coral flower).
Evidence - leaves, wet medium (modeling paste, distress stains), stripes, border punch, tearing.
Testimony -IW - Enjoy. in my jouranling I documented one of our family traditions of enjoying a soft icecream in a certain place where we go on almost every trip we take to the north. This icecream is loved by all of us (which is not that obvious, since my eldest doesn't like icecream at all...). It's a family tradition since my childhood, and we still keep it :).
Both the big flower and the smaller one are handmade, and I used two distress stain to get the right color, to match the pink/red coral hue of the MME dp and the one that's in the challenge.
I did some mix&match of MME products from different collections: Miss Caroline, Lost&Found 2, Indie Chic, Lost&Found 3, Find Your Wings and Fly (okay, I admit - I'm a big hoarder). I also used Prima mask with modeling paste, MS lace border punch and AC Thickers.

דף שהכנתי לאתגר משולב ב-CSI וסקיצה חודשית של My Mind's Eye. השתמשתי במוצרים מקולקציות שונות של MME (חלקם כבר די ישנים, אבל עדיין מאד אהובים עלי). עם משחת עיצוב ומסכה של פרימה יצרתי קצת מסגרת מתחת לכל השכבות. חלק מהקישוטים הם גזירה עדינה של אלמנטים מדפים של MME. הפרחים, גם הגדול וגם הקטן, הם הפעם מתוצרת עצמית. הגעתי לגוון שלהם ע"י ערבוב של שני גוונים של distress stain.

תזכורת קטנה - מחר אני אעלה דף שהכנתי כחלק מצוות העיצוב ב-Sketchabilities, ואתן מוזמנות לחזור ולבקר מחר ולראות את הדף שהכנתי.

Here's a lo I've made for some web challenges, with two photos of my eldest.

I used the sketch from Scrap Africa:

I must say this sketch was a little challenging for me. I find this sketch a little unusual, but I like how my page turned out.

The color palette came from The Color Room palette #158:

And I combined it with September's challenge at Scrap for Help, which asked to use soda can clip. I used two of them to 'hold' the torn paper.
I used textured modeling paste, colored with some Mr. Huey's mist, which I also used to color the alphas for the title. The flowers are homemade. love the distressed look of them.

דף עם תמונות של הבכור לפני כשנה וחצי, על רכס הכרמל. שילוב אתגרים של  סקיצה, פלטת צבעים ואלמנטים. הסקיצה הייתה מאד מאתגרת מבחינתי, אבל אני מרוצה מהתוצאה. 

השתמשתי במסיכה עם משחת עיצוב עם טקסטורה, שנצבעה עם קצת מר יואי, שצבע גם את האותיות בכותרת. הפרחים הם תוצרת עצמית. אני אוהבת את המראה המסמורטט שלהם.

case file #86 at CSI!

This week's case file at CSI is very feminine (or at least that is how I felt about it), so it was a perfect opportunity for me to use papers and embllishments with pink :))). I used a photo of my own feet, that was taken about a year ago, on our summer vacation 
All patterned papers, chipboards, brad and stickers are My Mind's Eye, and I mixed and matched different collections.
To go along with the theme of my page, I decided to tear the papers, and to add splatters of white paint here and there.

My clues to solve the case were:
Scheme - all 5 colors, however the yellow and orange are in small amount.
Evidence - scallops, paint, stripes.
Testimony - the journaling, handwritten on the hidden tag,  is about feeling free whenever I  travel to Eilat, the southern place in Israe. It's a sunny place almost all year round, a tourist city

דף שהכנתי לאתגר ההשראה ב-CSI, בשילוב עם אתגר סקיצה, חומרים, 3 בריבוע ולאתגר של יוצאות מהקווים, כשהפעם בחרתי ברשימה של עינת, ומתוכה לקחתי: פסטל, רכות וגיוון. עם כל כך הרבה דפים של בנים שאני מכינה, מידי פעם כיף לגוון עם דף נשי, על עצמי. גם קריעת הדפים היא לא שגרתית אצלי, והנה גיוון כפול ומכופל לדף אחד.
