Fun In The Sun - WW1

Here's my entry for July challenge at White With 1, which asked for white with duck egg:
It's another mixed media style lo:
Edit: international winner at White With 1!
Chipboards are from Creative Embellishments and FabScraps, and I used many different mediums on them - gesso, distress stain, embossing powder, perfect pearls. For the background I use scraps of pp, gesso, modeling paste, building tape, stencilmists, stamps and oil pastels
And here are some close-ups on the details:

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I appreciate every comment you care to leave me.

I choose

This is my 3rd post today...

and for my AFSC post, please click HERE
Case file #109 at CSI was very inspiring for me, and I was very inspired by the layout my blogy friend, Val, made. If you don't know Val yet, you should really pop over to her blog. it is full of beauty and inspiration. I was inspired to scrap without a photo of one of us, rather with a book cover photo.
I used Feb sketch from C'est Magnifique, in a mixed media style. I love it! Here's the sketch:
Here's case file #109 from CSI:
My clues to solve the case:
Scheme - I've used all 5 colors. my focus was on the blue/green, then with the bold bright yellow flower, and lastly with some small touches of red.
Evidence - book pages, stack something (I always stack something, working with multi-layers... and also using mixed media techniques - lots of stacked mediums), heat embossing (on the flourish chipboard), frames and dry embossing (the navy blue frame was die cut and then embossed).
Testimony - at adolesence, I was deeply influenced by two books: East of Eden by J. Steinbeck, and Man's Search for Meaning by V. Frankl. Reading them, over and over again I might say, shaped my perspective on life, on the human soul etc., and it had become the motto of my life. This is what my jouranling is all about. I wrote it in a mini book, and adhered on the cover a photo of Frankl's book cover, and tacked it under the layers of the main photo. I also wrote a quote of Frankl, which sums the whole idea for me: "The one thing you can't take away from me, is the way I choose to respond to what you do to me... The last of human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to chsoos one's own way."
It also goes for the altered chipboard challenge at Scrap Africa. I used Creative Embellishments' flourish chipboard, painted with gesson and then heat embossed with olive green embossing powder. then I added a few touches with Portfolio oil pastels and pearl pen.
And using so many mediums and mixed media techniques, I would like to enter it also for the mixed media challenge at Berry71Bleu.

Let it Snow - Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge Feb 15th reveal

I'm so happy that Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge is back and I was so thrilled when Anne invited me to return to the DT.
The new challenge is a sketch challenge:
The photo was taken about 2 years ago, on a snowy day. We thought we had a lot of snow then. how little we knew... LOL cause this year we've had a very big snow storm here.
I used my Feb Counterfeit Kit, with some gesso, Studio Calico's Mr. Huey's mist, a Prima stamp, Studio Calico mask and TH distress ink.
I also used some of my new Creative Embellishments' chippies. The title was painted with gesso and distress stain, and then I used emobssing powder, a stamp and perfect pearls. The small snowflakes were painted with gesso and distress stain and some glitter powder.
I just love CE chippies! they're so easy to use and so beautiful, plus my order arrived so quickly! I think it was one of the quickest I've ever had.
I would like to enter this lo to the masks/stencils challenge at The City Scrapper.
Here are close-ups on the details:

We'd be very happy if you join us in the fun and play with this wonderful sketch.
Thank you for stopping by and I appreciate your comments.

Floating

I love challenges, as they make me think out of the box and go out of my comfort zone. I rarely scrap with black background, so the basic idea at Black With Two is very challenging for me. I really loved this month's challenge there, with the beautiful inspiration mood and the fab inspiration by the DT, so I decided to give it a try. Here's the moodboard:

I've just found a new (to me) challenge blog, Off the Rails Scrapbooking, and my lo just fits to their current challenge, which is 'paint, sprays, ink, etc.', I used gesso, mist, embossing ink and embossing powder to create the background.
For this layout I used my Jan Counterfeit Kit. The photos are of my youngest, floating in the sweeming pool on our vacation, about 1.5 Y ago.
Here are close-ups on the details:

Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog. I appreciate your comments very much.

Feeding the Kangaroo - Sketchabilities #105

This is my 2nd post today.
For my Stuck?! Dec. 15th reveal,
please click HERE. Thank you!
A  new sketch is up at Sketchabilities and this is my take on this awesome sketch, designed by Karan. Here's sketch #105:
The photo is of my youngest, feeding a kangaroo at the Australian Zoo we have in Israel.
I used papers from Making Memories, Kaisercraft and DCWV. For the matting, I used a small paper bag. The embellishments are Echo Park stickers (Beautiful Life collection), Purple Pumpkin's flair button, Webster's Pages chipboard buttons, some embroidery threads and a wooden kangaroo from my stash.
For the background I used Studio Calico's triangles mask with TH distress ink and some stamping and heat embossing of Hero Arts text stamp.
My inspiration for the colors was palette #165 at The Color Room:
I loved this warm palette.  I also followed the inspiration from Scrap 4 Help:
I would like to enter it to the contest at Paper Issues, for the zoo theme.
Here are some close-ups on the details:

Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog. Your comments are much appreciated.

A Circle of Love - Nov 1st at Stuck?!

This is my 1st layout as a DT member at Stuck?!, with this fab sketch by Laura:
I had so much fun working with this sktech. I used two photos of my sons at the seaside, on 2012 summer. I went on a monochromatic design, with a touch of teal with Lindys Stamp Gang starburst. I alos did some heat embossing and used rub-ons and a twine.
Here are some close-ups on the details:

You shold pop over to Stuck?! to see the amzing layouts by the DT, I'm sure you'll enjoy the reveal.
But before you leave, here's a sneak peek to a lo I'll be posting tomorrow, with a little surprise... so please come back tomorrow to visit my blog:
Thank you for stopping by!

Lil Miss(ed) Podi

Here's my lo for 3 challenges: case file #94 at CSi, sketch #253 at Creative Scrappers, and Autumn mood board at Berry71bleu.
I took a photo of my female dog, I used to have long time ago. Her name was Podi, and she and her 'brother' were my fur babies, long before I had my own babies. The hidden ournaling is seen when you turn the photo turns and open the flap with the photo. I documented how I got them from dog shelter, how and why I named her Podi. I also wrote about how cheerful and friendly she was, and how sad I was at the time we had to part. Only the joy of having my eldest, who was born shortly before, eased the pain of the farewell.
My clues to solve the case were:
Scheme - all 5 colors.
Evidence - stack something (many many layers, and the stacked flower on the bottom), black background, silver metal (the heart camera metal clip), woodgrain.
Testimony - typewriter font and I wrote about my pet (but not from it's point of view). I also wrote about the sad ending of our being together.
Here are some close ups on the details:

Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog. I thank you for any comment you care to leave me.
