Fun In The Sun - WW1

Here's my entry for July challenge at White With 1, which asked for white with duck egg:
It's another mixed media style lo:
Edit: international winner at White With 1!
Chipboards are from Creative Embellishments and FabScraps, and I used many different mediums on them - gesso, distress stain, embossing powder, perfect pearls. For the background I use scraps of pp, gesso, modeling paste, building tape, stencilmists, stamps and oil pastels
And here are some close-ups on the details:

Dinner for 3 - CSI case file #132

So long since I blogged... first we moved to a new home and settling down took much longer than I thought, and then the so sad issue with the kidnapped/murdered boys and on top - this on going war here. My mojo left me and my mind is so distracted that I have very little energy for scrapping.
Anyway, a new case file is up at CSI, case file #132:
And this is my take on this case file:
My clues to solve the case were:
Scheme - all colors are here.
Evidence - punches, leaves, pouring something (lots of gesso, mists and embossing powder).
Testimony - my journaling is about a dinner my oldest made for the 3 of us, all by himself, as part of his Bar Mitzva year assignments: "As part of your Bar Mitzva year, you were responsible to make a dinner for the 3 of us, and you did it all by yourself - from planning the menu, buing the products and preparing the food. it was a very delicious dinner and you were so proud of your self, and you really should be. March 2014".
I used the July sketch from Once Upon A..Sketch:
I used StudioFourteen40' flairs (the Hamptons set 1 and celebration brights set 2)  and Manor House flowers.

We Were Kids (and it was a long time ago)

This is my 2nd post today.
For my Stuck?! reveal post,
please click HERE. thank you!
Edit: Winner at Orange Paperie&Co.
Thank you!
On the 'Watch List' at CSI

April 1st challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge is up, with a wonderufl prompt - "scrap or art journal about a favorite pastime from your youth. Was it a sport, fishing, cycling, reading or teasing your older brother?".
So I took an old photo of my brother and me, playing is a natural pool on a summer vacation. I think it was 1968 or 1969.
It was also a perfect match with case file 116 at CSI, as one of the testimony options was to be inspired by a song title or lyrics for the journaling. My title says, in Hebrew: "We were kids, and it was so long ago", and it was taken from a very beautiful Israeli song, talking about childhood memories of the singer, Yossi Banai' who grew up in Jerusalem. If you're interested, you can hear the song and see translation of the lyrics :) :
I used the sketch from Scrap365, only turned it to the side, but I think you can still see the sketch in my page:
I was inspired by the work of two very talented scrappers: Georgia Heald and Sanna Lippert. If you are not familiar with them, you should do yourself a favour, and pop over to their blogs, trust me you won't be disappointed.
I would like to enter this lo also for the 'Vintage with a twist' challenge at Orange Paperie&Co.  You should pop over to see what beautiful creations are posted there, and they're so much friendly :).
Anyway, here's case file #116 at CSI:
My clues to solve this case were:
Scheme - all colors are here.
Evidence - music elemnts (music notes stamp on the background), circles, metal, buttons, labels, use something that runs on electricity to make your layout (having a mixed media lo, I sure used my heat gun a lot...), diagonal cross-hatch pattern (a stamp on the background and on the right bottom corner).
Testimony - inspired by the song lyrics, I wrote about fun vacation memories from my childhood: "Sleeping in a tent, jumping to the cold water, floating inside tires at the pool, pulling out air from vehicles' wheels, and then running to hide behind Mom&Dad's back, oh our family's summer vacations, simple yet so enjoyable."

So what was YOUR fav pastime when you were young (not that your not young now... LOL)? scrap about it and share it with us at AFSC. we'd love to see it.
Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog. I appreciate every comment you care to leave me.

Funtabulous Day - Stuck?! April 1st reveal

A new month, means a new sketch reveal at Stuck?!, with a fantastic sketch by Laura:
I used two photos instead of 3, but otherwise I kept very true to the sketch. You should pop over to Stuck?! blog, to see what beautiful creations my sister DT made for this reveal.
We have two great sponsors for this challenge - ScrapMuch?, and they offeer their kit of the month, and Creative Embellishments, and they'll give $20 GC to one lucky random winner.
All papers, flowers and embellies are from Prima. the small tags were made from a Prima's package, as their packages are so beautiful and can be recycled.
There are many layers of gesso, mists, stamps and modeling paste on this page. I wanted to mimic the colors and splatters of the photos.
For inspiration I used March moodboard from Life.Paper.Scrapbook:

It's reveal day at Sketchabilities, with the gorgeous #112 sketch by Karan:
I used a lot of gesso, mists, distress stains and ink on this page :)). I really enjoyed getting messy. I used the tag I made for my GD spot at CHAC, some Carta Bella's papers, Prima's stamps and Creative Embellihsments' snowflake chipboards.
Here are some close-ups on the details:

I would like to enter it to the'free for all' challenge at Off the Rail Scrapbooking, and for the 'paint/mist' challenge at The crafty Scrapper.

Missing You

Edit: this lo won 'Star Witness' at CSI!

This is my take on March sketch at Skissedilla, March moodboard at Scrap Around the World, and case file #115 at CSI.
Usually I don't do girly pages, but the challenges at SATW and at CSI inspired me to go out of my comfort zone of boyish/masculine pages and make a girly one, about me!
Here's the sketch from Skissedilla:
Here's the moodboard at Scrap Aroung The World:
I was inspired by the pink/peach colors of the dress, and the layers of it. I was also inspired by the blooms, so springy :). Another inspiration was the typewriter, which gave me the vintage/retro feeling, as my old photo is.
It also goes for the black/white photo challenge at Scrapy-Wyzwaniowo.
Here's case file #115 at CSI:
The photo is of my Dad and me, way back when I was about 2 year old.
The clues I used to solve the case were:
Scheme - all colors are here.
Evidence - hearts, lace, bird, grid, leaves, flowers, stamps, mixed media background.
Testimony - I used on of the prompt - 'In what good ways you are like you father?' My Dad passed away more than 17 years ago. I still miss him a lot. He was a man who stood up for what he believed in, without fear. Part of mymy jouranling is on the front, and part on the back of the page, and it says: "Mom used to say that I'm so alike  you, having the same character you had. And indeed, just like you, I stand up for what I belive in, going with all the way with my truth, till the end, never giving up. From you I've learnt not to be afraid even facing very powerful people. Although it has been a long time since you passed away, I miss you. I miss you so much. I long to talk with you, tell you what's going on with the kids, with my work. longing to hear your insights, your good advice. I wish I could only once hear you saying to me: 'you're no longer a dummy, you're already a butterfly', or seeing in your eys how much you're proud of me. I still have that big hole in my heart cause you're not here anymore."
