Me & Mom - lo

This lo is about my mom and me. I painted white/cream acrilic paint, with a dry brush over the black cs and then layered the rice paper as a matting for the photos. I inked the white feathers with distress ink. I think they go nicely with the brush spreads and the texture of the rice paper.

The flower was made of wide black lace, and on the top I sewed crochet flower that I've made myself (there are so  many tutorials on the web how to make crochet flowers, try it. it's fun!)

The stitches all around are hand made.

Black & White can be so formal, but I think that the theme of mom & baby, plus the flower and the feathers, all soften the look of this lo.

The title says in Hebrew: Me & Mom.

I feel that this lo is so conected with my mom. She is a real artistic person. She paints so beautifuly, and she tought me crochet and sewing, so this lo is kind of an appreciation to her.

I wish to thank to Crafty Fairy for her so bright tutorials. This time I learned and was inspired by her tutorial about using acrilic paints over lo, and by the tutorial about adding stitches to your lo. Now I know those tutorial are in Hebrew, but you can also learn a lot from only watching the photos she puts on her tutorials.

הדף המעוצב הזה הוא מעין מחווה לאמא שלי, שהיא אמנית מדהימה וציירת בחסד. היא לימדה אותי לסרוג ולתפור, כך שהאלמנטים בדף הזה ממש בהשראתה.

על הקארדסטוק השחור מרחתי צבע אקרילי לבן/קרם עם מברשת יבשה, ועליו הנחתי נייר אורז כמאטינג לתמונות, הוספתי את הנוצות, שאותן לכלכתי עם דיו דיסטרס. בעיני הן משתלבות מאד יפה עם מריחות הצבע והטקסטורה של נייר האורז.

את הפרח הכנתי מסרט רחב של תחרה שחורה,  ועליו תפרתי פרח קרושה שהכנתי בעצמי (יש המון הדרכות ברשת איך להכין פרחי קרושה וממש כדאי לנסות. זה מוסיף המון לעבודות).

התפירה מסביב לדף היא מעשה ידי לתפארת :).

שחור ולבן זה שילוב צבעים שיכול להיות מאד פורמלי, אבל אני  חושבת שהנושא של אמא ותינוקת, ביחד עם הפרח והנוצות - מרככים את המראה הכולל של הדף.

הכותרת היא מדבקות ויניל מביג דיל, אותן "עברתתי".

תודה גם מגיעה לפיית המרציפן, שההדרכות המצולמות שלה כל כך בהירות וברורות ומעוררות השראה. בדף הזה השתמשתי בשתי טכניקות שהיא הראתה בבלוג שלה - האחת היא שימוש בצבעים אקריליים בדף מעוצב,  והשניה על רקמה על דפי אלבום.
