Lovely Memory - CSI case file no. 336 November 1st

A new case file is up on CSI - case file no. 336, with beautiful photo inspiration and colors:

My inspiration came from the wall and the frames, and from this starting point I went on.

I used all 5 colors and from the evidence I used: stripes, wood plank background, floral pattern, frames, flowers, metal, something transparent (the black stickers) and cursive fonts.

The photo was taken on our last visit to Italy, we went to several countryside places, and this is one of them. I also framed my jouranaling.

Paper desk caddy

A desk caddy I made from cardstock and pp, following Keren Skubach's great totorial - Part 1 and Part 2

It was so much fun, and easy to make, that I will defintely make another one preety soon (and maybe, just maybe, more than one..).

It helps keeping my most needed tools just handy and ready to use. It has a pocket for memo notes, small 'shelves' for all those small items that get lost in big pockets, lots of room for sccisors, pens, scoring tools, etc., and even one pannel of cork to pin notes.

Here're some more photos:

Hello, First Grade

Is it September already?! this year is just flying...
Anyway, a new month means a new challenge at CSI - case file no. 330:
This is how I solved this case file:
I used all 5 colors;
From the evidence I used: text patterns, school-themed elements, clips, washi tape, gold, bows, sequins and hearts.
The photo if of my eldest, on his first day at school, but the journaling is from today's point of view, as he graduated school last July!
The title says: Hello, Frist Grade!
Here're some close-ups:
Some school-themed elements -

The clips are either chipboards or stamps:

A long and skinny floral card

I made a long and skinny card, that can fit for a wedding.
It goes for the sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts challenge:
And for CAS on Friday, with the theme of 'Nature'.

Dare to Dream -playing with colors for Kraft +

I really liked the August inspiration moodboard at Kraft +:
Amazing colors and the DT outdid their selves with loads of inspiration.
I decided to make a card. At first I thought of a flowery card, but I ended up with a rather masculine one...
I used two different inks on the gears stamp, creating a gardient look, then stamped on another kraft cs the winged gear in a teal ink, fussy cut it and adhered it a little under the sentiment (which is also matted on a kraft cs).
This is one of the things I really love about challenges - it makes me go out of my comfort zone, trying new colors combo this time.

Capture the Moment

One of the TOP 3 at Challenge YOUrself

Case file no. 328 at CSI has a wonderful beach/ lake side theme:
It was just perfect for our sailing photo, taken last year at Lake Como in Italy.
I used all 5 colors and from the evidence I took: stripes, grid pattern, beach elements, camera, circular elements, anchor and fringe.
I followed Laura Whitaker's sketch for Sketches In Thyme no. 431:
I'm an old fan of Laura's sketches!
Another challenge this layout goes for, is the August challenge at Challenge YOUrself - I'm on vacation:

I was also inspired by the marine inspiration photo at Creative Embellishments:
I was inspired by the blue and green colors of the water and used scalloped pattern under my photo.
The background was made in smooching technique, using Lindy's sprays: Tibetan Poppy Teal and Aloha Avocado.
I used some CE products - camera chipboard (heat embossed with Lindy's Orange Creamsicle ep),
fishnet background stamp and the chipboard title (heat embossed with Lindy's Spring Leaf Chartreuse ep and Guten Tag Teal ep, and then colored here and there with Lindy's Tibetan Poppy Teal shimmer spray).
To make the steering wheel and the anchor I die cut eace shape several times from a watercolor paper and glued together, so I got kind of chipboards.
The steering wheel was covered with pp with life buoy pattern (the same as I coverd the half circles).
The anchor was painted with Finnabair's Rich Copper Metallique Wax. I glued Finnabair's mini art stones, and colored the anchor again with Lindy's Tibetan Poppy Teal spray. After it was dried, I wraped it with a wax cord. I really love the aged look it got!
Some Robbin's Nest transparent drops added to the water drops look.

A wedding card, in natural colors

A Top Cookie

I made this card for an inspiration post, about using sketches, in a local FB group.
I used an old (but good!) CAS(E) This Sketch - sketche #329:
My take is a bit loose... I took some major elements from the sketch and made it my own - the geometric background, the leaves element.
I made my card in natural colors and feeling, and it was given for a wedding party.
I would like to submit it to the following challenges:
I was inspired by the colors - kraft, white, cream and brown.

Precious Memories (Platform 9-3/4)

Is it August already?! time flies....
The new case file (challenge) at CSI is all about traveling:
Although the inspiration photo was screaming 'Summer', my layout is rather Autumnly one, photos of my youngest taken at Platform 9-3/4 in Kings Cross station London.
We had such a blast there! We went to the shop after we've been to the Harry Potter's Studios and since we arrived to the studios a bit late, we didn't have time to shop there, so we went to the Harry Potter Shop!
While we were queuing, the shopper run a trivia test. My son knew all the answers and won a nice prize! Then we took our photos 'running' into the wall. It was so much fun!
I used all 5 colors from the scheme. For the evidence I used: stripes, grid pattern, gingham pattern, postcards, travel themed elements (I just LOVE this trunks stamp!), a clock, cursive font, a camera, a ribbon, vintage themed elements, borders (doodled border around) and triangles.
My journaling is about our visit there. I placed it on the tag, to be pulled with the ribbon.
I used Laura Whitaker's sketch for July sketch at MCS:
I love working with Laura's sketches!
