Parisian Chic - CSI case file no. 265

I'm a little late with my lo for the new case file at CSI - case file no. 265, which has this beautiful inspiration photo:

This time I went free style, and not 'old school' as usual.

I was inspired by the colors in the inspiration photo and fashionable look on the whole, so I decided to use a photo (one of many) of a street lamp on one of the bridges over the Seinne in Paris.

Street lamps are one of my fav things, and I can take hundreds of photos of a single one LOL.

I did use some to the clues from the case file: checker pattern, frames, text print (hardly can be seen, but it is on the pale gray pp under the photo), arrows, metal, triangles, something ahiny and gold/silver accents.

I used Sketchabilities sketch no. 154:

All pp are Lemoncraft's from the Heart Painted collection.

I used Lindy's Gang products:

ep: Oom Pah Pah Pink, Angel Wings Gold, Black Forest Black;

Magical Shakers: Frozen Jack Frost, Oom Pah Pah Pink;

Sprays: Cotton Candy Pink, Bombshell Black, Cream Brulee Cream.

Chipboards are Creative Embellishments and Scrapiniec. I also used a Creative Embellishments' flair button (the other one is from StudioFourteen40). 

For the final touch I splatter some mists and added enamel dots

Good Enough

Edit: on the 'Watch List' at CSI

This is my take on several fab challenges - CSI, OUAS and Mixed Media place, but first let me tell you that I was very inspired and encouraged to make this page by my bloogy friend Val Thorpe, on one of our chatting, so big thank you, Val :-).

My page is about what something we rarely speak about - Postnatal Depression... Yes, I've had it after I gave birth to my 2nd child. It was a very difficult period in my life, but I go over it. And it takes some courage, I think, to admit it and talk about it. I've learned so much at that period, and the most important lesson that was learnt is that good enough mother is really enough.

Here's the sketch from Once Upon A... Sketch, drawn by the talented Nadia Cannizzo:

The journaling creteria was: Lesson Learnt... and my jouranling, in Hebrew, says: 

"This is the story of what we don't speak about - postnatal depression. Till my second labor, I considered myself as a good mother, in fact I thought I was a very good mother. After I had my 2nd labor, I thought I was the worst mother on earth. Since then, each day I learn that perhaps I'm not the best mom in the world, but I am a good enough mom, and that is the best."

And this is how I solved the case:

Scheme - all 5 colors are there.

Evidence - ombre effect, arrows, grid design (kind of... the background under the photo was created by placing paper pieces in sort of a grid design), stripes, circles, white background.

Testimony - I used the inspiration words 'good' and 'be' (am..) for my title and for my jouranling (see above).

For this layout I used lots of scraps, mainly MME and EP. I also used lots of Prima's goodies. The photo frame was made with Spellbinders dies and the doily was made with Cheery Lynn's die.

דף שהכנתי בהשראה של כמה אתגרים. הג'ורנלינג מספר על מה שבד"כ לא מדברים עליו - דכאון שלאחר לידה. סבלתי ממנו לאחר הלידה השניה, ואחד השיעורים הגדולים שלמדתי אז הוא שגם אם אני לא האמא הכי טובה בעולם, אני אמא מספיק טובה, וזה טוב מאד.

 This month's challenge at Scrap The Boys is Outdoor Activity, so I used a photo of my eldest, sliding in a playground, having so much fun.

To go along with the cheerful photo, I designed the lo with a sunburst pattern, using colorful papers, all are scraps (a great way to use all those scraps!).

Because the background is so busy, I added only few embllies - arrows and stars. I think the arrows draw the attention to the photo.

בבלוג של Scrap the Boysהאתגר החודשי היה פעילות מחוץ לבית, אז לקחתי תמונה של הבכור, מאושר עד הגג במגלשה בגן גורו, בחלק של המבוכים (החלק האהוב עליו ביותר באתר הזה).

הרקע הוכן כולו משאריות של דפים. מעבר לקארדסטוק הבסיס, שום דף לא נחתך בפעם הראשונה לעיצוב הזה, אלא כולם שאריות. כדי להכין את הרקע, השתמשתי במסיכה הזאת ופשוט שיחקתי עם הדפים השונים, כך שנוצר דף מאד עליז וצבעוני, מתאים כל כך לתמונה ולנושא.

מאחר שהרקע כל כך עמוס ורועש, הסתפקתי במעט מאד קישוטים - חיצים שנגזרו עם מספריים וכוכבים בשכבות (השניים הגדולים יותר מתבנית חיתוך עם הביג שוט, והקטן עם פאנצ').
על השולחן נערמו שאריות של שאריות הדפים, ומאחר שמצאה חן בעיני התוצאה הצבעונית של הרקע, הכנתי משאריות השאריות גם כרטיס ברכה באותה תבנית. בהחלט ניצול יעיל של שאריות הדפים.

My August Counterfeit Kit

This month I wanted to play again with Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog, and decided to go on a smaller sized kit, and I also wanted to use some of the scraps around.

Here's the kit to counterfeit, from Scrapbooking from the Inside Out:

My guidlines for counterfeiting the kit were mostly the colors (kraft, aqua/light blue, red and black), and by some of the patterns (diagonal stripes, chevrons).

I also gathered some selfmade tags and arrows, tickets, rafia ropes, wood veneer arrows, dew drops,  washi tapes, flair buttons and mists.

I really hope that with a smaller kit and some ideas in my mind, I will be able to make a few layouts this month (my muse is in a slow motion mood...).

החלטתי לשחק קצת עם קיט החיקוי החודש, אבל ללכת על קיט מצומצם, קטן יחסית לקיטים שבעבר הכנתי.  אולי עם קיט קטן יותר, וכמה רעיונות בראש, אצליח להכין כמה עמודים (המוזה בפאזה איטית למדי לאחרונה...).

רציתי גם להשתמש בשאריות דפים, לפעמים שאריות די קטנות, כדי להקטין את הכמות שמתרוצצת פה (ואז יהיה לי תירוץ והצדקה לקנות חומרים חדשים...), ואספתי גם כמה תגיות ג'ורנלינג שהכנתי בעצמי, עם חיצים, וואשי טייפ שונים, תגיות מוכנות, חיצים מעץ ועוד כל מיני קישוטים.

בתקווה להתנעה של המוזה....
