Family - Special Agent at CSI - case file #99

Case file #99 is up at CSI, with a warm and beautiful inspiration photo. I'm a Special Agent (i.e. Guest Designer) at CSI this month. I was inspired by the curains to make my own 'curtain' by pleating a dp, and tying a ribbon, as if it holds the 'curtain' open.

I love this photo of my sons, so close one to each other and so happy.

Here's case file #99 at CSI:

My clues to solve the case were:

Scheme - all 5 colors used.

Evidence - butterflies, fabric (a lace trim and a ribbon), wood, silver metal, something puffy (the flowers), drape something (the trinket key), pleats, 6 something (6 letter title, 6 butterflies, 6 different dp).

Testimony- I was inspired by  'SixWords Memoir' for my sub title ("No other bond like this one"), which I've put on stripes. On the back of the page I wrote about how inpmortant and valuable are family ties, and how one should cherish and hold on them.
I really love how my 'curtain' came out, and how the butterflies are hanging on it.

דף נוסף שהכנתי כמעצבת אורחת ב-CSI. הפעם עם פלטת צבעים מאד חמה ומזמינה, ועם תמונה נפלאה להשראה. האלמנט שהכי תפס את עיני בתמונה, והיווה את ראשית ההשראה לדף הזה, היו הוילונות הכתומים. החלטתי ליצור וילון מנייר, ולקשור במרכז הקיפולים סרט, המחזיק את הוילון מוסט. מכאן כבר התגלגל המשך העיצוב של הדף. עבדתי עם מסיכה ומשחת עיצוב על שתי הפינות השמאליות של הדף, וגם זה נותן קצת אשליה של חלון ממוסגר. הפרפרים התלויים על הוילון מדגישים את האווריריות, ביחד עם התחרה העדינה שמבצבצת מתחת לדף בדיגום של לוחות עץ. אני אוהבת את הניגודיות שבין החספוס של לוחות העץ לבין התחרה העדינה והרומנטית.

Off we go to school

 The boys went back to school two days ago, the eldest is n 5th grade and the youngest is on 2nd grade. I did take some photos, but didn't print them yet, and the photo in this lo is from last year, when the youngest strated school.

The supplies are from my August Counterfeit Kit: cs and dp are Jillibean Soup and so are the stickers and the alphas; the frame is Colorbox; the buttons and the riboon are from my stash.

הילדים חזרו לבית הספר, הבכור לכיתה ה' וצעיר הבנים - לכיתה ב'. אמנם צילמתי (כמובן) ביום הראשון ללימודים, אך עדיין לא פיתחתי את התמונות, ולכן הדף הזה הוא עם תמונה מהיום הראשון ללימודים, אבל של שנה שעברה. ההתרגשות אצל צעיר הבנים הייתה גדולה מאד, בכל זאת כיתה א'!.

כל החומרים הם מקיט החיקוי של חודש אוגוסט, בדגש על מוצרים של Jillibean Soup. הדפים שהחברה הזאת מוציאה הם תמיד מאד צבעוניים ועליזים.

את הזיגזגים הכנתי בעצמי והוספתי תפירה במרכז כל אחד מהם. העננים גם הם תוצרת עצמית (הנה ההדרכה להכנתם). המאטינג עם המסיכה של כוורת הוא בעצם קארדסטוק לבן שעליו עשיתי כל מיני ניסויים, וקרעתי ביד חלק ממנו כדי לשמש מאטינג בהיר בניגוד לדף המדוגם המאד כהה שמתחת.
להשלמת המראה, עבדתי עם מסיכה הפוכה, של רשת לול תרנגולות, על הקארדסטוק קראפט.

At Rabin's Grave בקבר רבין

I wanted to scrap this photo for a very long time. I've been waiting for the right muse, the right sketch, the right moment... and finally I've made it.

The photo was taken nearby the late Israeli Prime Minister, Ytzhak Rabin, who was assassinated on November 4th 1995, at the end of a peace rally (you can read about it here). 

I took my boys to his grave when we were on a visit at Mount Herzel (our national cemetery), about 4.5 years ago. I'm not sure what they remeber from that visit, and we will be going there again, but I wanted to document that visit.

את התמונה הזאת רציתי כבר מזמן לעצב בדף, רק שחיכיתי למוזה המתאימה, לסקיצה הנכונה ובכלל - לרגע הנכון, וכל אלו הגיעו משום מה עכשיו.

התמונה צולמה בהר הרצל, ליד קברו של יצחק רבין המנוח. היינו בדרכנו לסופ"ש עם חברים בים המלח, ולקחתי את הילדים לביקור בהר הרצל, כולל במוזיאון. אני לא יודעת כמה ומה הם זוכרים מהביקור הזה, ומן הסתם עוד נשוב לשם בעתיד לפחות עוד פעם אחת.

אגב, למי שעדיין לא יצא לו לבקר במוזיאון הרצל המחודש, אני ממליצה בחום על ביקור שם. האופן החוויתי בה בנויה התצוגה מותיר רושם עז. עבורי הביקור שם היה רגשי וחוויתי מאד, עם חיבור מחודש לערכים ישנים וטובים, שכמעט ונשתכחו מאיתנו. המילים "להיות עם חופשי בארצנו, ארץ ציון ירושלים" מקבלות משמעות עמוקה מאד כשפוסעים בין חללי המיצג השונים, במיוחד כשלצידך פוסע דור ההמשך. גם הם, כמוני, נולדו לתוך מציאות קיימת, של מדינה יהודית מובנת מאליה, אך אני עוד גדלתי על סיפוריהם של הורי, שנטלו חלק בהקמתה של המדינה. החיבור הזה מתעצם בביקור במקום.

ולחלק העיצובי של הדף הזה - הצבעים של הדפים והקישוטים נגזרו, כמובן, מצבעי התמונה עצמה. בביקור שלנו שרר קור עז בירושלים, והילדים היו עטופים היטב בבגדים חמים. כובעי הצמר הסרוגים בפסים של אדום וכחול, והכפתורים האדומים במעיל הבכור - היוו את ההשראה.

מרבית החומרים נלקחו מקיט החיקוי של חודש אוגוסט, ודף הקראפט של המסגרת הפנימית הוא שארית מדף הצלליות שהכנתי לאחרונה.

הבאנר הגדול נחתך באופן לא סימטרי. לאחרונה התחלתי לחתוך את הבאנרים כך, כי בעיני זה מוסיף עניין לדף. הבאנרים הכפולים הקטנים מורכבים מדף מדוגם שעליו סרט מפוספס. האותיות הן 'תוצרת הארץ'.

David's Fall - a lo

Here's my take on #2 mini challenge at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog, which is PAINT. One of my fave technique is using acrylic paint for stamping, so I was happy to use it on this lo.

The photos are from a trip we had a couple of months ago to a magical place called "David's Fall".   It's a fall in the middle of Yehuda Desert, and the stream goes straight to the Dead Sea. We had a wonderful trip then, when we also climbed to the top of the fall. It was quite a challenging trip, but really worthwhile.

I used #213 sketch from Creative Scrappers:

I usded my June Counterfeit Kit for this lo - the kraft cs is Jillibean Soup and the dp, stickers and chipboards - are all Echo Park This&That Charming collection.

I used MME acrylic stapm (also in my CKC kit) with white acrylic paint on the right bottom corner, to mimic the water going down the fall, and added on the stamping chipboard, buttons, twine and brads for the water splashes.

דף חדש עם קיט החיקוי, לאתגר של "צבע", בבלוג של Counterfeit Kit Challenge. מאחר שאחת מהטכניקות האהובות עלי היא החתמה עם צבע אקרילי, שמחתי מאד לאתגר הזה.

כל החומרים בדף הזה הם מקיט החיקוי שלי של חודש יוני, שמבוסס בעיקרו על קולקציה של Echo Park שנקראת This&That Charming. הניירות המדוגמים שנבחרו תואמים את הצבעים שבתמונות, וכך גם הקישוטים (סטיקרים, צ'יפבורדים, כפתורים וסיכות מתפצלות).

התמונות צולמו ביום העצמאות האחרון, בטיול שעשינו לנחל דוד. המראה של המפל הגדול' שנשפך מקירות המדבר אל תוך הבריכה, נראה לי קסום בכל פעם שאני מגיעה לשם. בטיול הזה לא הסתפקנו במסלול המעגלי הקצר של המפל התחתון, והעזנו להמשיך במסלול של מיטיבי לכת, ולטפס במעלה ההר, לראש המפל. היה בהחלט קשה (מיטיבי לכת, לא?), אבל שווה כל שניה של קושי בטיפוס. המראה שנשקף מלמעלה פשוט מרהיב. הדף הזה הוא אמנם על החלק התחתון של המפל, אבל מובטחים גם דפים עם תמונות מהפסגה :).

Finally Snow (a long cold winter) - GD for Scrap It With A Song

I was invited to be a Guest Designer for April at Scrap It With A Song, and I was very happy about it. Songs are a great inspiration for me in my life, and for my scrapping.

For April, SIWAS has a wonderful songs to inpire you and I hope you'll join us in the fun.

The 1st song is 'Here Comes The Sun', by the Beatles. Noramally, one would think of a springy theme for a layout, but I wanted to remind us that before we see all this glorious blooming, we should say goodbye for the cold winter.

The photos are of my boys, playing in the snow only a month ago. we rarely have snow in Israel, and my boys were longing for snow to fall ever since we moved here. Finally, after almost 4 years, we had snow, and that is the title of my lo. With the subtitle I played with the word 'long' from the song - our winter isn't really long, but we longed for snow to fall.

My inspiration for this lo came from case file no. 13 at CSI:

I love this color palette! I think I will use it again.

For the evidence: a pinewheel, hearts, twine, jewels (rhinestones in the center of the pinewheel and the spiral flowers), spiral flowers (I've made them according to Wintam's tutorial)
For the testimony: the lo is all about my boys playing in the snow, with such a great delight.

דף מעוצב עם תמונות של הבנים שלי משחקים בשמחה ובאושר בשלג שצנח לו אצלנו לפני כחודש.

הדף הזה הוא  משימה כמעצבת אורחת בבלוג של Scrap It With A Song, אליו הוזמנתי לחודש אפריל. האתגר הראשון הוא השראה מהשיר של הביטלס Here Comes The Sun. היה מתבקש להכין דף עם נושא ואווירה אביביים, אבל בחרתי דווקא את השורה המדברת על החורף הארוך והקר (אצלנו לא כל כך ארוך, ובינינו - גם לא כל כך קר...), ותיעדתי בכיתוב את ההשתוקקות (משחק מילים על המילה long) של הילדים שלי (וגם שלי...) שירד כבר שלג, כזה שנערם.

האתגר הנוסף לו הכנתי את הדף הוא אתגר המשלב כמה נושאים - פלטת צבעים, אלמנטים וכיתוב.
הפרחים הצהובים המקופלים הוכנו לפי ההדרכה הזאת של WINTAM.

מחר יהיה בלוג הופ באתגר של קיט החיקוי, שגם בו אני מעצבת אורחת לחודש אפריל. בבלוג הופ כל המעצבות יציגו את קיט החיקוי שהכינו. התמונה הקטנה למעלה היא הצצה לקיט הזה, שהוא אביבי להפליא. יהיה כיף ומעניין. תבואו (אחרי הסעודה הדשנה של ליל הסדר...).

A photo of my boys, walking in the forest on Carmel Mountains. I thought they looked like little elves :)).
The die cut dp is Little Yellow Bycicle (from Twig collection); the pink dp are Basic Grey and Echo Park; the pompon ribbon is Fancy Pants (Beach Bumb collection); The flowers are hand made - I used glimmer mist on a white cs, punched and layered; on the center I placed rolled flowers (made according to Wintam's tutorial).

I used #104 sketch from Tuesday Trio, with the theme magic:

דף מעוצב שהכנתי לפי סקיצה 104 של 'שלוש בשלישי. שיניתי מעט את הסקיצה, במיוחד לאור זאת שהבסיס שלי היה דף עגול ולא מרובע. מעבר לכך, נשארתי נאמנה למדי לסקיצה.
מעבר לדף הבסיס העגול, כל יתר הדפים שהשתמשתי בהם הם שאריות. את הפרחים המגולגלים הכנתי לפי ההדרכה של Wintam.

האתגר הנלווה היה "קסם", ולכן בחרתי בתמונה של שני הבנים שלי, מטיול שעשינו ממש לאחרונה באחד מהשבילים ביערות הכרמל.  המראה שלהם, לבושים בקפוצ'ונים ועם המגפיים, מקפצים בשביל בתוך החורש העבות - העלה בי אסוציאציה של שדוני יער קטנים וחמודים. קסום, לא?
הצבעים של הדף היו לפי פלטת הצבעים של The Color Room, ולמרות שזו לכאורה פלטת צבעים "נשית", היא התאימה בעיני לדף הזה, כי הצבעים שבה 'מדברים' נפלא עם צבעי התמונה עצמה.

Me and my friend, Winnie the Pooh - lo and two thank you cards

A very CAS lo, maybe one of the most CAS I've ever done. I used #102 sketch from Tuesday Trio, with the twist - winter:

The photo is of my elsdest, when he was almost 3Y old, and the journaling is about his love for his buddy, Winnie The Pooh. He used to take Winnie everywhere - kindergarten, grandma, friends, etc. Winnie was his guardian angel at nights.

I did some mix & match from different manufacuters: Glitz Designs, October Afternoon, LillyBee Designs and Authentique.

My inspiration for the colors of this lo came, naturally , from the photo itself, but it is also kind of homage to my friend, KarinD., a very talented lady, one of the DT at Tuesday Trio. She LOVES the color orange, and her style is very CAS. I get a lot of inspiration from her work, and this lo was very inspired by her work. Thank you, Karin!

With this CAS inspiration, I've made two 'thank you' cards. The 1st one is a tiny one :)

The 2nd card, a little bit larger, also for a challenge from 365Cards, this time day 330 'I've got it covered' - cover the background with at least 2 different pp and make sure they don't overlap:

It also goes for the recipe challenge at Frosted Designs, which asked to use 3 pp, 2 buttons and 1 word for the title. I used dp from October Afternoon (the orange one) and Glitz (the bluish and the yellowish).

דף מעוצב ושני כרטיסים, והכל בסגנון נו"פ. ההשראה, לסגנון ולצבעים, באה מקרין ד., שאת עבודותיה אני מאד אוהבת. כשאני רואה את העבודות המינימליסטיות שלה, אני מרגישה קצת תסכול - בד"כ אני לא יכולה להסתפק בקווים הנו"פ ובמינימליזם של קישוטים. תעיד על כך קרין עצמה, במפגש יצירה שלנו, כשהוספתי עוד ועוד פרחים עשויים ביד :)).

הפעם באמת שהשתדלתי לשמור על נו"פ. אני מקווה שהצלחתי.

ההשראה לצבעי הדף באה בראש ובראשונה, באופן טבעי, מהתמונה עצמה. אבל בחירת הדפים המדוגמים הייתה גם מעין הומאז' לקרין, הן לאהבתה לצבע הכתום והן ליכולתה המדהימה (בעיני) לשלב את הכתום עם גווני הכחול ועם צהוב. אז ניסיתי גם :)).

התמונה היא של בני בכורי, כשהיה כבן 3, והדף מתעד את אהבתו ל'חברו הטוב' פו הדב. פו הלך איתו לכל מקום - לגן, לסבתא, לחברים, וכמובן - ליווה אותו בשמירה צמודה ונאמנה בשינה בלילה (לא, זה לא עזר לשנת לילה שקטה ורצופה... רק בסביבות גיל 4 הוא החל לישון לילות רצופים, אלא שאז כבר הצטרף לחינגה צעיר הבנים, וזה לקח עוד משהו כמו שנתיים-שלוש-ארבע-חמש עד שהתחלתי לישון לילות שקטים ורצופים...).

הדף ואחד הכרטיסים - עפ"י סקיצות של שלוש בשלישי. האותיות בכולם - 'תוצרת הארץ' של רחלי גזית ומסטיקים.

I played a little with 365 Cards, and this is my take on Day 273 Preety in Pastels. I have 4 pastel colors - green, baby blue, yellow and lavender; and if you count the ink I used, in pale brown - then you have 5 pastel colors...

כרטיס נוסף, שוב נו"פ, אבל אלגנטי. הוכן לאתגר של צבעי פסטל ב- 365CARDS, והשתמשתי בסקיצה פשוטה, אבל מנצחת.

Oct. 7th at Scrapbook challenges

Me and my elsdest, on a travel at Tel Dan, about 8 years ago.

I used this sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches:

I switched it up a little - I replaced the dp strip under the photo with a fence and placed it on the photo instead under it; I placed the title under the fence instead of on; I tore the dp on the journaling spot and placed a short journaling on both sides of the tearing; I've added more embellishments (the bling, the extra layer of the book sheet, the wooden corner, etc.)


For the colors I was inspired by #78 The Color Room:

I've made the background cs by misting, inking and stamping a plain white cs. I also made by myself the fence and the blings.
