Birthday cards from leftover papers

It's the end of the months, so it's time to use the leftovers from previous projects, made with my October Counterfeit kit.
I made 3 birthday cards from the leftovers, plus some of the embellishments.
I'm really happy that I used most of my kit. The papers I didn't use, are mostly 12x12 and some scraps, but I don't have those small scraps from this kit.
Here're some close-ups on the cards:

Birthday cards for MTW - Treat Yourself

Two birthday cards for the mini challenge at More Than Words challenge blog:
The challenge asked to use the words "treat and/or trick". As we don't celebrate Halloween, the theme of treat or trick is not really part of our lives, but treat is certainly something universal :).

It's Autumn.... a mini album plus a card

Taking an inspiration from autumn, I've made a quick mini album and a card, all for a friend's birthday.
The construction of the album is in a zig-zag way, with many flaps. It's flat and has no pockets and have only punched shapes and enamel dots for embellishments.
It measures 5.5"X5.5".
I used the paper left overs from the mini album to make a matching card.
Let's take a look in the inside:

And a few close-ups:

The card:

Kraft & Scraps - 4 cards

Like most, if not all, paper lovers, I have ton of scraps. While working with my October Counterfeit kit, the pile of scraps just grow, so I decided to try and use all those scraps, along with the challenge that CKC gave - Get Kraffy!

I used kraft cs as basis for all 4 cards. 2 cards were done with stripes of scraps, one using a punch and the last, with the hexagons die cut I added to my kit.

This last card was inspired by the sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch, sketch #344:
I rotated the sketch and used heart stickers instead of the stars.
I should do this more often, to reduce the scraps in my pile....

A folder with a wing for a man

A very good friend of mine celebrated his birthday, and I've made him a folder with a wing.
I've made the folder from start to finish, with chipboards for the basis, wrapped with black efalin paper (I prefer wrapping with efalin paper, rather than with cardstock, as the cs tend to break along the edges and the spine, while the efalin paper does not).
I use my October Counterfeit kit for this folder, and it's already my 5th project, using my kit, and the 6th is almost done!
The folder measures 8.5"X6.25", in side it has an accordion envelope and a pen holder. I also put inside a notebook pad, which can be replaced, as there's a bellyband to hold it's back in place.

Autumn - a mixed media layout

We've had some strong thunderstorms with rain, and it's quite unsual here to have that strong thunderstorms. On the other hand, it's very hot too.  Autumn, anyone?
So no wonder my new layout is all about autumn. The photos of my youngest, were taken 5 years ago, on a stroll we had in a lovely place, and as you can see, it was all autumn around.
I was inspired by the fab moodboard at Mixed Media Place:
I took inspiration from the autumn photos - the acorns, the mashroom, the falling leaves.
I must say, this layout was a Lindy's festive for me. I used so many of thier products to achieve the colors I wantd for my layout.
I started by tearing some of the papers and distressing the edges with TH Tea Dye distress ink. Then I  layered the papers and splattered with Oktoberfest Orange shaker and Antique Bronze shaker:
I stamped with 49 and Market stamp (Pascale writing), using Ranger's Coffee archival ink here and there:

For the redish-brwon leaves, I mixed some Lindy's shakers: Aged Copper, Antique Bronze, Autumn Maple Crimson, Cowabunga Copper and Oktober Orange. I added from each shaker till I got the right color I wantd. Then I die cut the leaves.
For the brownish-orange leave, I mixed Lindy's flat sprays: Luscious Lime, Queen of Hearts Red and Mango Mania I also added Yellow Rose of Texas starburst spray. I made sure to color both sides of my watercolor paper, and die cut another shapes of leaves.
As for the mesh die cut, it started as an experiment for a previous project (which you can see HERE) - I used the same ebmossing powder, Terra Cotta Rust, once on a white cs, and then on a black cs. In the previous project I ended up using the one on the white cs, as the other one was too dark for that project:
I was left with the darker version and when I worked on this layout, I thought it's a perfect match:
I really like the different looks of using Lindy's products on white or black background.
I adhered the photos and made two clusters, using Petaloo flowers with my diy leaves.
On the clusters I splattered Lindy's Grag a Guy Gold spray, to get the gold look:

I just LOVE how it turned out!
I finished up with sparkly alphas and enamel dots:

Henry VIII's girls - CSI case file 298

Another case file is up at CSI, case file no. 298, and this is my DT layout for this case file.
The photo was taken 4 years ago, at Madame Tussauds Museum in London.
I'm a great fan of GB monarchy ever since I was a child, so I couldn't resist to take a photo of me with the two daugthers of Henry the 8th, Queen Marry the 1st and  Queen Elizabeth the 1th.
For my layout, I used my October Counterfeit Kit.
This is how I solved the case:
Scheme - all 5 colors are here.
Evidence - stripes, metal (the brad and the flair button), string, heat embossing (the black leaves with Lindy's Purly White ep), circles, solid cardstock, scallops, stitching.
Testimony (journaling) - on the pull out tag in the corner I wrote 5 facts about Henry the 8th' wives and children.
I've used Laura Whitaker's sketch for My Creative Scrapbook:
Here're some close-ups on the details:
