Me & Barney - a lo

When I first saw case file no. 21 at CSI, I thought I'd skip this one; too girly colors, I thought, too much for my boyish photos and layouts. But then I decided to take the challenge. I found this photo of my eldest, when he was almost 3 years old, with his fav Barney doll (at that period, only 2nd  loved, after Winnie the Pooh), and it's a bingo!

Here's the case file:

The clues I used to solve the case were:

Evidence - a doily, a riboon, flowers, lacy border (stampped around the page and one under the photo), layers, "icing" (glitter silver flourishes and glitter powder on the flowers).
Testimony - my journaling is about how my boy loved Barney and I used two different sizes - one for the main jouranling and one for the date, as a flower center. I also tied a ribbon onto the journaling spot.

דף שהכנתי לאתגר משולב של צבעים/חומרים/השראה. בתחילה חשבתי שאדלג על האתגר הזה, בגלל שילוב הצבעים והחומרים - מאד נשי באופיו, וזה לא הסתדר לי עם התמונות של הבנים שלי. ואז החלטתי בכל זאת לאתגר את עצמי ומצאתי את התמונה הזאת, של הבכור עם בובת בארני כשהיה כמעט בן 3. באותה תקופה בארני היה הבובה השניה האהובה, אחרי בובת פו הדב (עשיתי דף על אהבתו לפו הדב, וגם הדף שהעליתי היום קודם לכן, על יום ההולדת שלו, מתעד את האהבה הזאת, עד כדי שהכנתי לו עוגת 'פו הדב'...).

Just The 2 of u - lo

This is my entry for August's challenge at From Screen 2 Scrap, which had for inspiration the poster from 'Holiday Inn':

I followed all bonus points: 

use music sheet - check;

two tone title - check;

lets see some red and navy on your page - check.

I used August sketch from Artful Delight (I turned it so it will fit my photo):

Music sheet if from an old music notebook; dp are October Afternoon; Alphas are 'MyLittle Shoebox' (the tiny ones) and GCD chipboard alphas, painted with acrylic paint; stars embellishments are from my stash.

The photo is of my boys, almost 5 years ago.

תמונה של שני הבנים שלי, לפני כמעט 5 שנים, ביום הראשון ללימודים (אז עוד בגנים). זה היה מייד לאחר מלחמת לבנון השניה, בה נמלטנו מעירנו המופגזת. החיוכים הרחבים של שניהם בתמונה הזאת, אחרי תקופה כל כך לא פשוטה, ממיסים עד היום את ליבי.

Relaxing Together - lo סתלבט ביחד

Another summer themed lo. The photo is of my boys, relaxing by the pool, on a vacation at Eilat, almost 3 years ago. I love the shadow/light  play on this photo, so the dp I used (from the 'Summer Seeds' kit designed by Tsruya Illan) was the perfect match for this photo.

I cut a little the parasol and the parasol's shadow and placed the photo inside, to go along with the shadow theme.

Since the dp was so perfect I used very little embellishments - the curly burder (Bazzill), the foam seagulls with tiny black pearls for eyes, red brads on the corners and faux stitching for the frame.

דף קיצי נוסף שהכנתי. כשראיתי את האתגר בקומונה 'הבית הפתוח לעיצובים בנייר', שדיבר על "צל", ישר ידעתי שהתמונה בה אשתמש היא התמונה של הבנים שלי, נחים על מיטת שיזוף על שפת הבריכה במלון באילת, לפני כמעט 3 שנים. בתמונה יש משחק של אור וצל, מההצללה בבריכה, ואני מאד אוהבת את המשחק הזה.

בנוסף, הדף המדוגם מהקיט 'זרעי קיץ' של צרויה אילן, עם השמשיה הנעוצה, נראה היה כל כך מתאים לאתגר ולתמונה כאחד. בגלל שהדף המדוגם מלא בעצמו, בעיני, הסתפקתי במעט מאד קישוטים - בורדר מסולסל, חיתוכי סול של שחפים, עליהם הדבקתי פנינים שחורות כעיניים, תיפורים מסביב וסיכות מתפצלות אדומות בפינות. האותיות של 'תוצרת הארץ' ממסטיקים, ומשם גם הקיט של צרויה אילן והבורדר המסולסל.

Dinosaurs Parade - lo

Here's my lo for the sketch challenge at Get Picky, with this sketch:

The photos are of my youngest, playing with his big collection of dinosaurs, explaining me about each and every one of them....

It is also for a private challenge, where the set was to use 3 photos (okay, I used 4...), solid cs, and 3 embellishments and one of them must be a bought one.

I used DCWV cs, plaid dp from the awesome kit 'Summer Seeds' by Tsruya Illan, anothe dp - Dino Parade from Little Yellow Bicycle, dino sticker and foam palm trees from my stash, which were topped with glitter powder. I doodled frames with black gel pen.

I really loved the written borders of the dp, so I cut them out and poped them with 3-d glue dots.

דף שהכנתי על בסיס סקיצה מ-Get Picky לאתגר בפורום "עיצוב אלבומים וכרטיסים" בתפוז, אתגר של 'אחד על אחד', שבו כל אחת נתנה 'מתכון' לדף לבת הזוג, שצריכה הייתה להכין דף לפי המתכון הזה. אני הגרלתי את רני, שאיתגרה אותי מאד מאד עם מתכון כל כך שונה מהסגנון הרגיל שלי - 3 תמונות (בד"כ אני משתמשת בתמונה אחת, מקסימום שתיים), דף רקע אחד לא מדוגם (כאילו דאאאהה???) ו-3 קישוטים, אחד מהם קנוי שאיננו אותיות (אין מה לומר, היא פשוט עלתה על הקטע שלי עם הכנה עצמית של קישוטים...).

האתגר הזה היה לי באמת מאד קשה, וזמן רב לא ידעתי בכלל מה לעשות איתו. אני מודה - לא קיימתי את ההכתבה כלשונה. כנראה שזה היה בכל זאת אתגר קשה מידי עבורי...

במקום 3 תמונות - השתמשתי ב-4 (זה כבר הישג לעומת הרגיל אצלי...); לא יכולתי להימנע משימוש בדפים מדוגמים, אז השתמשתי בהם כמאטינג וכקישוט (והנה סימון V על קישוט קנוי, לא?...); 3 הקישוטים שלי הם הפעם כולם קנויים ושום דבר לא הכנתי בעצמי: עצים של חיתוכי סול עליהם פיזרתי אבקת נצנצים, סטיקר של דינוזאור, בורדר דיונוזאורים וכיתוב חתוכים מתוך דף מדוגם.

אני מקווה שרני תקבל בהבנה את הפרשנות המאד אישית שלי לאתגר שלה...


דף הבסיס הוא קארדסטוק של DCWV מנתנאלה. הדף המדוגם המשובץ הוא מהקיט המדהים 'זרעי קיץ' של צרויה אילן ממסטיקים. גם דף הדינוזאורים, ממנו חתכתי את הבורדר של תהלוכת הדינוזאורים ואת בורדר הכיתוב, ואותיות 'תוצרת הארץ' - הכל ממסטיקים. הוספתי חיתוכי סול של עצים, וסטיקר של דינוזאור - מהאוסף הפרטי (ז"א מכל מיני חנויות שונות, שאין לי שמץ של  מושג מה קניתי איפה...).

אהה, וההצצה היא לדף שאותו אעלה מחר עם אתגר הסקיצה החדש ב-Frosted Designs. תקפצו לראות....
