My Vintage Love

Edit: this card won top 5 at #39 cupcake inspirations!

First, I've a confession.... It's my first vintage style card, so be generous with me this time....

second, but much more important:

It's my first GDT card for Simple Doodles!!! and I {heart} it!!!! tomorrow is the big day with the new challenge Trish is bringing to you, and trust me - you're going to {heart} it!

well, you probably figured out what that challenge is going to be about... LOL

Yes, it is all about HEARTS. I know the challenge will start only tomorrow, Jan 3rd, but Trish was so kind to let the DT post their work a day earlier, so that you'll be able to get your HEARTS prepared... LOL

That's not all for simple doodles! next week Trish will release new lovely images, all full of love, so stay tuned with me and the other DT, and you'll get sneak peeks. like I said before - you're going to {heart} that.

and now to the card itself:

The sketch is the challenge of day 281 at 365 cards. now here is my second confessoin for today: I hated it when I saw it.... LOL. Thats why I just couldn't make anything out of it.

But as always with my mojo, it takes time... and today it came big time. I took for the first layer an old letter sheet and I distressed the edges by cutting and inking them. I placed on this handwriting sheet brown and pink lace ribbons (the pink one is hardly seen). then a white lace doily (thanks to a former challenge at 365 cards, I dug it from my stash), after i inked it a little with a brown ink. the image is a rab-on.

The pink fan flower was made of a leftover piece of pink shining paper I puched with a corner punch for the wedding card I've made a few days ago. that is how it got its lace look. the other fan flower was made also out of left over of a music sheet, but this time i cut one edge of the strip with zig-zag scissors (I have several of patterns of them, and that's how I make scallop edge - have no other tools...). then I layered it on a tissue flower, that i inked its layers some with red ink and some with brown one. then I add some stickles to the fan flower for the glittery look.

Sentiment is a freebie from simple doodles and so is the heart, and i printed them on an embossed paper and then I inked the embossing and the edges with the brown ink. I like the effect of the embossing here because it goes in lines, just like the handwriting of the first paper. the brackets are from 1$ shop and the buttons are from my stash.

that's it.

so I've completed all December challenges at 365 cards (a little late, but I hope Pam will show some holiday mercy for me...), made my first GDT for simple , doodles, and still managed to have a lovely weekend with my family and friends .

and now for the challenges:
