This time my new lo is about me & my dad, and it's a very personal lo. On my forthcoming birthday, I will be at the exact age my father was when I was born. As I said in another post, my dad had passed 13 years ago. He died of cancer at the age of 76. Too young, I would say, too soon. When he was diagnosed, he used to say that he had lived a full life and that he regrets nothing. I would say that is a great way to sum one's life, isn't it?
Okay, enough with sadness and lets see what have I done with this lo....
The title on the lower part says in Hebrew: "Daddy's Little Girl", and on the chipboard (We R Memory Keepers) I've written the year and place the photo was taken. It me (!) sitting on my daddy and I really don't know why am I looking so incontent... LOL We were sitting on the balcony at my grandpa & grandma's home.
And to the details and techniques I used in this lo:
I sewed the circle with whipped backstitch, first with a purple thread, and then with a lavender one. I think it gives a special & lovely frame to the photo. Then I tore an inner circle, as if to 'reveal' the photo, and I inked the torn edges. As matting I used a scrap of dp from K & co.
The journaling page is from a pad I saw at my mom's kitchen and grabbed a page or two...
I wrote: "I was born exactly a week before my dad's birthday. As a child, I always thought I was his special birthday's present. The times when I was born were quite rough, there was a recession. My dad wrote to me once, that when I was born, they had this hope in their hearts that a new day starts. A hope that found it's expression in the name my parents chose to give me."
The 'tree' was made of some part of BG's 'do me a favor' kit, I think the lemonade collection. The title is letters cuts from a shop called "practical fairy" (what a lovely name, isn't it?), and they're glitter purple. The butterfly is a new Unity stamp that I just got as a prize from Stamping Sisters in Christ (thank you once again!).
I sprayed it with glimmer mist, and that is how I made the mask on the right lower corner.
The green dp is actually strips of two different styles of leaves, and I used MS lace border punch on it and on the pink vellum underneath.
An organza pale green ribbon with large bow and on top of the bow - a digi flower from Fred She Said, with a pale pink button on it. Some pink shining pearls, some redish stickles on the tree, and that's it!

repetition - basb (my repetition is circles - the sewed circle, the teared one, the pearls, the button) I'm touched - day 27 365 cards (I know, it is not a card, but yet I wanted to share my new creation... the 8 elements are the flower on the left corner - made of several times stamped and cut, on top the button, and the bow and dp underneath) circles - #12 the pixie cottage

את הדף המעוצב הזה הכנתי כמשהו מאד אישי על אבי המנוח ועלי. ביום ההולדת הקרוב שלי אהיה בדיוק בגיל בו היה הוא כשנולדתי, ואני נולדתי בדיוק שבוע לפני יום ההולדת שלו. בכיתוב על הדף (אפשר להגדיל ע"י הקלקה על התמונה) אפשר לראות את מה שכתבתי על ההקשר הזה.
אבי נפטר לפני כ-13 שנה מסרטן. לאחר שאובחן נהג לומר שהוא חי חיים מלאים ואין בו חרטה על מאום. אני חושבת שזו דרך מאד יפה לסכם חיים.
ולגבי העיצוב של הדף - תפרתי את העיגול בתפר כפול - על התפר הרגיל חוזרים אח"כ עם חוט נוסף, רק בהרמה של התפרים הקיימים. כשעושים את זה עם חוטים בשני צבעים מנוגדים, מתקבל אפקט מאד יפה. קרעתי עיגול פנימי כך שהתמונה נגלית מבעד לקרעים. הדף עם הכיתוב הוא מבלוק של פתקים שהיה אצל אמא שלי ושנוררתי ממנה איזה פתק או שניים... העץ עשוי מחלקים של קיט של בייסיק גריי, הפרפר מחותמת של יוניטי על דף מדוגם (אותו אחד שמשמש מאטינג לתמונה - של K&co), שהחתמתי וגזרתי פעמיים כדי לתת נפח, וגם ריססתי אותו בגלימר מיסט, וכך נוצרה גם המסיכה בפינה הימנית התחתונה.
הדפים למעלה גזורים עם פאנצ' בורדר תחרה של מרתה סטיוארט, כשהדף הורוד הוא בעצם וולום.
סרט אורגנזה מתחת לעץ ולאורך הדף, כשבקצה, על הקשר, חותמת דיגיטלית של פרח, גזורה 6 פעמים (האמת? די מיותר. בדיעבד גם פעמיים שלוש היו נותנות את האפקט של תלת מימד...).
הכותרת מאותיות סגולות מנצנצות של קסם שימושי, נצנצים על העץ והפרפר, קצת פנינים, וזהו. היה לי מאד מרגש להכין את הדף הזה, עם הזכרונות שהוא מעורר.
נ.ב. לא הייתי מאמינה אבל זו אחת העבודות היחידות שלי שבהן לא הכנתי בעצמי את הפרחים/הכותרת... טוב, מספיק עבדתי על האלמנטים האחרים... :)).
