A Happy Birthday card - leftover of the scraps

When I finished my previous card (HERE), there was a leftover of the scraps panel I made, so I decided to use it for another birthday card.

I die cut the sentiment from the panel, and used two very thin stripes on the bottom of the card.

I adhered some pre-cut flowers and sprigs (also using scraps of solid cardstocks), added a few enamel dots, and my card is done!

Happy Birthday - You still got it! playing with shapes and solid cardstock scraps

 

Here's another card in my 'using solid cardstock' and 'using scraps' sereis.

I chose this colors combo to make a card that can be given both to male and female, hence no blings or flowers on it.

I was left with some small scrap of the stripes design, and used it for another card, but that's for another post.

All the elements were adhered using foam tapes, and so was the sentiment (Waffle Flower Happy Birthday).

Sunny colors for a birthday card

Seize the Birthday has a lovely challenge - CASE the designer:

Well, I DOUBLED cased them!

I really loved Barbara's card, who, in her turn, cased Cathy's card, so here're both cards:

As you can see, my take on those two cards is very loose, but that's okay when you Copy And Selectevly Edit a creation....

I was inspired by the vertical panel, and it has been a while since I made a card with this design.

Instead of a panel with alcohol inks or an embossed panel, my panel is with layering stencils.

I matted only the sides of the panel and adhered it to a kraft basis, as I thought kraft was so perfect with these sunny colors.

I added stripes of sentiemnt from my pre-made pile, and added some enamel dots.

A birthday card in coral, dark green and silver

Hello crafty friends!

I have a new card to share with you, made with the inspiration of a few challenges.

At The Color Throwdown #721, the colors chosen by Amy Rysavy were way out of my comfort zone! I rearly use coral on my crads, but I wanted to give it a try:

I stamped and heat embossed the flowers' outlines with Lindy's Gang Silver Moon Sapphire ep. The inside of the flowers were stamped with Ranger's Tea Rose archival ink, and the flowers were die cut.

The leaves were stamped with Ranger's Library Green archival ink and die cut. I also stamped a few sprigs in green, directly on the white basis.

I also stamped the sentiment in green ink.

I cut 3 stripes of silver cardstock, and heat embossed them with the Lindy's ep. I wanted the stripes to ground my flowers, so I adhered the stripes diagonally, and aranged the flowers and the leaves toward the left bottom corner.

To finish up, I added a glitter green enamel dot to the center of the big flower, and a few silver glitter enamel dots around the sentiment.

The white panel was adhered to a silver cardstock basis.

Somehow, in the photo the green looks much more darker than in real, but I couldn't get a better take of the card to show it.

It's time to celebrate you - CAS Colours & Sketches

One of the weekle winners

at CAS Colours & Sketches

 CAS Colours & Sketches #498 has a double challenge - colors AND a sketch:

My take on the sketch is a little loose - I replaced the big circles with pink flowers, the middle one emphesized with layers of stamping  and die cut, while the small circles between are the leaves and the small pale blue flowers.

I added some clear dew drops:

I love how delicate and feminine this card turned out!

Two 'Get Well' CAS cards, using scraps

 Still playing with reducing my pile of scraps... I adhered some stripes of solid cardstocks, then cut it to a square. Then I cut the square into 2 triangles, and again to triangles.

I played around with the triangles and came up with two very simple, even naive design.

I added shaped corners to two sides of the kraft basis, a sentiment and some enamel dot.

Not too much sofisticated, but they sure can cheer up someone who need it.

AND - I managed to reduce, a little, the pile of scraps! the red and pink scraps were used till there was nothing left to use.... LOL
